Count of times a report is run

We want to know how to count the number of times a specific report is run or executed.  We have a fairly large number of reports and want to get some statistics on which ones are used the most.  Anyone know how this can be done easily?  Thanks!

Hi Kevin,
If you are running this reports on Business Objects Enterprise then you will find this information in Audit Database.  If you are running a report using Crystal Reports Designer, I don't think you can find the information.
Thanks,

  • Key figure values vary each time the report is run by different users

    Hi All,
    We are facing a unique problem, here it goes :
    Different users are getting different values for the same key figure, when executing the same query  on the same selection conditions.Each time, user executes the report, he is getting varying values for the same key figure.Any idea's how to resolve this issue??
    Thanks in Advance
    Bindu

    Hi Bindu,
    One reason might be due to authorizations as discussed earlier.
    check how frequently is the cube getting refreshed.
    This might also happen that if users are running the data at different times and there is a cube load in between.
    check for this.
    Cheers,
    Srinath.

  • How Many times the report has run

    Dear All,
    I am trying to find out if there is any standard report which shows me as to how many times the Z or Y repor has been used.
    This is really needed for me decide.
    with regards
    Ranjith Singh

    we created a solution that reads the information from STAT and stores it in a custom table for later retreival. we can then more closely monitor the amount of statistics kept without basis involvement. the function module to read the STAT information is:
      call function 'SAPWL_STATREC_READ_FILE'
           destination servers-rfcdest
           exporting
                read_client                 = sy-mandt
                read_end_date               = pstop
                read_end_time               = pstopt
                read_exclude_username       = 'SAPSYS'
                read_start_date             = pstart
                read_start_time             = pstartt
           tables
                v2_normal_records           = stats
           exceptions
                wrong_parameter_combination = 1
                others                      = 2.
    it takes some time to develop history, but we can now go back over a year to look at run time and execution trends by program, both ours and SAPs.

  • Incremental Counter in SSRS each time report is run

    Hi
    I need to have a header row in my SSRS report which is an incremental number e.g. each time the report is run the number increments by 1.  Something similar to a hit counter on a website.
    Is it possible to have an internal variable within SSRS which will increment by 1 each time the report is run?
    It seems straight forward, but from reading other articles online, it appears not to be.
    Can anyone advise?

    The most i think you could do is query the ExecutionLog3 view and count the number of times the report has executed successfully.  The problem is this log is only kept for 60 days default.  I am sure if you wanted to you could adjust the period
    of time in which the log is kept (keep in mind it is system wide) or you could pull the data out that you need incrementally and store it.  Here is some information on the view.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159110.aspx
    I think the biggest challenge you will face on this one is political should you go down this path.  Good Luck!

  • Statistics - To get how many time a report has been run

    Hi Gurus,
    I would like to know how many times each of the reports on the portal has been run. If I could get this by user id, that would be great.
    Do you know where I can get such information?
    Regards
    Mathew

    Hi Guys,
    This can not be done throug ST03/ST03N. For this you will have to either use the SAP delivered BI Statistics query which is built on 0TCT_M01 multiprovider. Make sure your data is upto date before you run the query.
    Disadvantage of teh SAP delivered query is, it will not give you result which is older than 24 hrs. So basically it gives you oppourtinity to analyze only last 24 hrs data. If you want to modify the query, you can copy the query and modify as per your requirement.
    Now coming to your question of finding how many times a report is run:
    Question is how many queries do you have in your report. If your report contains one query only, there is free char in the query called Frontend Session. Everytime your execute the query you will have a new Frontend session ID.
    So create a formula as counters for all values and set the exception aggregation based on Frontend session. This will give you the number of times each query executed. If you drill down by Users, you will get this numbers by users.

  • Dynamic date parameters for a scheduled report that runs every day

    I have a report that has input parameters for a start date and
    end date. The report will be scheduled to run once a day at a
    scheduled time. I need the report to automatically set the start
    date and end dates when the report runs at the scheduled time.
    When the report runs at the scheduled time, the end date needs
    to be set to that time and the start date needs to be set to 24
    hrs before the end date. I want the start and end dates to roll
    forward automatically when the scheduled report runs each day. I
    don't want any user intervention to change the start and end
    dates every day. How can I do this in a report ?
    Also, since the report is scheduled to run each day, I want the
    output to be saved to a unique file name each time the report is
    run as each day's report will report on the data only for that
    day. How can I get the report to save to a unique file name
    automatically each day ? Again, I don't want any user
    intervention where they would set the output file name manually.

    Try adding the following in the beforereport or beforepform
    trigger, before the RETURN clause (TRUNC gets rid of the time
    component of the date):
    :p_date_from := TRUNC(sysdate) - 1;
    :p_date_to := TRUNC(sysdate);
    :desname := 'REPORT'||TO_CHAR(sysdate, 'DDMMYYYY')||'.txt'

  • How to configure oracle 6i report server run time component with application server

    we got oracle 6i report server for developing the web based reports for our undergoing product. we r succesed in developing the web based reports using oracle 6i report server.But we r facing problems while deploying the product with oracle reports at clients place,why because the client does not have the oracle 6i report server. To solve this problem we have to configure the oracle 6i report server run time component with application server at client side , but we are unable to configure this component(that is CGI handler).

    You can run multiple instances of Reports Server in 6i.
    In tnsnames.ora, for each server, have a different name and each listening to different port.
    For example,
    server1.world = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(Host = myhost.mydomain.com)(Port = 1949))
    server2.world = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(Host = myhost.mydomain.com)(Port = 1950))
    Also, if you want to know about Reports Server Clustering, you may refer to "Publishing Reports" document on OTN:

    All the Printer Setup(Page Height and Page Width) must be set in

  • Run time for Report saved in local machine and Database

    Hello,
    I have a report that runs in 5 seconds in Discoverer Desktop. When I saved the same report in database(File->Save As - in Database) it takes more than 40 mins. I haven't made a single change to the report before saving to Database. Has anybody come across this? Please help me find the problem.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    this is just how the Internet works and also how file displays work. Everything you view, listen to etc. in your browser gets saved as a temporary file on your computer. You can't even view a simple html page without having it saved on your computer for a short time. I can't think of anything to prevent this from happening.
    Also, if you generated the file yourself, how is that a security threat to your client? He should be sure the file is safe.
    Best regards!

  • Modify the title of a wad report at run time.

    Hello Gurus,
    i have a query in a report which lists the products.On clicking on a product, it takes me to anthr template which has the details of that product.The current scene is that whenever the user selects a product its detail report opens in a new browser.
    The requirement is to display the name of the product in the tiltle bar of the browser.
    I have the value of prod selected in a var(thru ABAP code), how can i set the title of the summary report at run time??
    Please send suggestions ASAP.
    Thanks
    Regards,
    priya

    Hi Priya,
    insert a text element into your detail web template and surround it by
    <div id="someid" style="display:none">
    <!-- your text element -->
    </div>
    The text element should display the value of the selected product and its property "ONLY_VALUES" should be set to "X". Now you can access the value of your selected product via JavaScript:
    <script language="JavaScript">
    function getSelectedProduct() {
      var selectedProduct = document.getElementById("someid").innerHTML;
      return selectedProduct;
    </script>
    Now you can set your title with the selected product.
    I hope this helps a bit.
    Greetings,
    Daniel

  • A simple list with seven time buckets starting from the date report is run.

    Hi All,
    I am new to ABAP.Recently i have planned to write a progam which will help in planning the delivery of scheduled items.For a given sales Org. it will display all the undelivered,delivered items in a simple list and sort them with delivery dates.it will also provide a summary report at material group.For that i have used selection screen(LIKP-VKORG-Obligatory).when i enter VKORG Details i should get all the delivery docs for which delivery is not done or partially done.For this i have taken one more table LIPS
    (LIPS-MATKL,LIPS-MATNR,LIPS-VBELN,LIPS-POSNR,LIPS-WERKS,LIPS-LFIMG,LIPS-MEINS) for tables LIKP and LIPS VBELN is the key field.when i enter VKORG Data in the selection screen ,how can i get the data from LIPS Table.Please explain?
    Also report should be simple list with seven time buckets starting from the date when the report is run.The amount of quantity to be delivered should be displayed under appropriate bucket i.e within the bucket where its delivery date falls in.for ex:If the report is run on Tuesday 15th march 2010 then the start date 1 should be starting date of the week which is Monday 14th March.
    The report will be summarized at Material Group and Material Number.
    Appreciate your help
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Determine fields in a report at run time

    I am using Crystal XI R2 for reporting ina an a VB.net application.
    I want to be able to determine which fields are in a report at run time to provide a list to the user for filtering purposes. I can list the available fields of the database table that the report is hooked into but they might not all be on the report.
    Which Objects and/or Methods are used to determine this?
    Can someone provide an example?
    Thanks ahead of time.

    You will have to use the RAS InProc SDK. RAS Developer help files are here:

    In a nut shell though, your code would be similar to the below (except for a subreport object, you'd be lookign for a db field object.;
    Dim crSections As Sections
    Dim crSection As Section
    Dim crSubreportObject As SubreportObject
    'set the crSections object to the current report's sections
    crSections = crReportDocument.ReportDefinition.Sections
    'loop through all the sections to find all the report objects
    For Each crSection In crSections
    crReportObjects = crSection.ReportObjects
    'loop through all the report objects to find all the subreports
    For Each crReportObject In crReportObjects
    If crReportObject.Kind = ReportObjectKind.SubreportObject Then
    'you will need to typecast the reportobject to a subreport
    'object once you find it
    crSubreportObject = CType(crReportObject, SubreportObject)
    'open the subreport object
    crSubreportDocument = crSubreportObject.OpenSubreport(crSubreportObject.SubreportName)
    'set the database and tables objects to work with the subreport
    <your .SetDataSource code here>
    Next
    End If
    Next

  • Count down timer not run in background

    On my 1520, with 8.1, i tried many timer apps and found the timer function failed when running in background. The even happened to the app, SuperTimer, which claimed to have overcame the issue. In Supertimer the countdown lags and even stop at times depending on what other things I am running. Really disappointing. It appears to be an issue wth Windows OS that none of the app programmers could fix.
