CR XI SP4

So far I have been using CR XI Release 2 SP2 on Windows XP. My co-developer uses Vista and has upgraded to CR XI SP4 to solve an issue.
For compatibility reasons I have upgraded to SP4 as well (still running WinXP). I can open and modify reports (created in SP2) in the designer. But whenever I try to preview the report, a popup window opens saying that Crystal Reports XI Release 2 is being configured. After a while I am prompted to specify the location for the file CrystalReports.msi. It suggests a location in a temporary folder in Documents and Settings, but this temp-folder does not exist. The only option left is to cancel the operation, resulting in a message that the data can't be loaded.
The reports are designed in SP2 using text field definitions. I don't see this option in the database expert of SP4. Trying to verify the database the same dialog as mentioned before appears. Cancelling this operation gives a message that the databaseconnector crdb_fielddef.dll cannot be loaded.
I assume both issues are related to each other.
Any suggestions on how to solve this problem are appreciated,

Update:
I have modified one of the reports in that it doesn't use text field definitions anymore, but a table definition (in MS Access). Now I can preview the report without any problem in the designer. My conclusion is, that the missing crdb_fielddef.dll file is indeed causing the problem.
Is the use of text field definitions no longer supported in SP4? I assume it is not, but what can I do to get that functionality back?

I attempt to install Directory Server 5.2 on windows 2000 server(Simple Chinese) sp4, when the installation comes to "configuring" it stops.
And have this error:

You are correct. Dir 5.2 is not certified for AIX 5.2. It does install though. Like a previous reponse stated. Check the permissions for the user you are installing with and the file system you are installing to. Make certain you have enough disk space. My install took 150 MB of disk space. Finally, Dir 5.2 creates the file "/var/adm/sw/productregistry" during install. If you do not have permissions to /var/adm/sw, you may have troubles.

SecWinAD is not available and SSO in XIR2 Sp4

So, we're on XIR2 + Sp4 + FP 4.2 and now we're trying to setup the AD+SSO. We're using the PDF material which is written by Tim Ziemba; AD is working fine in DeskI, also we can use AD in InfoView/CMC (java), but when it comes to SSO, then we're getting a bunch of errors which does not say anything to me. Maybe someone can bring some light on what we're missing or what's wrong. I do know that XIR2 +Sp4 is unsupported version, but I can't push the customer to migrate to the latest release.
I tried to search in SAP notes and here as well, but did not find anything which could help us to figure out ...

Yes, if I take the value of idm.princ and run kinit, then ticket is generated correctly - no error messages. Also we tried to replace java SDK 1.4. (the default one) with Java 1.5.22 and added
default_tgs_enctypes = rc4-hmac
default_tkt_enctypes = rc4-hmac
in the Krb.ini file, but everything is still the same.

How to change default Date format in BO 6.5 SP4

A problem with date display has been reported to me by one of our users - in BO 6.5 - since installing SP4.
The default date format is now MM/DD/YYYY
I have tried to recreate this on my PC and have been able to confirm that this is the case.
Most of our PC's will have two versions of Business Objects on them - for 5.1.6 and for 6.5 - that is the case for my PC.
If I create a new BO document based on a spreadsheet with three entries in the spreadsheet as follows:-
20/01/2009 20-Jan-2009 20th January 2009
This displays in BO 6.5 as
1/20/2009 1/20/2009 20th January 2009
My PC regional setting is UK and the time displays DD/MM/YYYY
Can you advise how to correct this problem please.

I haven't checked Dimension in universe because this is happening even when datasource is an Excel spreadheet - as per details in previous post.
I have looked for *.sbo files and found one for ODBC.sbo in the Version 5 folders on PC - with date format details in it which I've changed - that doesn't make any difference.
Any other ideas?

Performance issue BPC 7.5 SP4

We have got performance issue after a upgrade from BPC 7.5 SP03 to BPC 7.5 SP04 Patch1.
We got problem with EVDRE reports especially with large reports with a lot of settings in MemberSet or if we use filter on property in MemberSet.
We have reports that expand in about 20 seconds on BPC 7.5 SP03 and takes about 25 minutes to expand after the upgrade to BPC 7.5 SP04 Patch1
I have also made new EVDRE reports and vary simple reports works fine but when I increase the number of members to expand and the number of terms in MemberSet I works very slow.
We have got about 10 applications in this Appset and the problem does only occur in one of this Applications
I have processed all dimensions in the application and done full process and modify application without any error.
I have also tried to create a log file on the EVDRE report to compare logs in the different applications and different ServicPacks but I only get data in the EVDRE_TRACE.TXT file and no data in the EVDRE_LOG.TXT file
Anyone having the same problem? Anyone who knows how to get the EVDRE_LOG.TXT file to work?

Upgrading the MII 14.0 SP4 patch error

But I again try to update the patch for that by running the SUM again. But I am not able to start the STARTUP.BAT and DSU also.

Applets not working with Java 1.7.0_51 in MII 14.0 SP4 Patch 5

Hi,
I'm currently evaluating the migration of our MII 12.0 developments to MII 14.
But I'm running in several issues just trying to use simple things like a SQL query template with an iGrid Display template in test mode.
Used versions are: MII 14.0 SP4 Patch 5 and on client side the latest Mozilla Firefox with Java 1.7.0_51
At first I always get a java security warning when the applet is being loaded about unsigned applications.
At second the applet itself is not running. It always shows "No data available" and the java console shows the following errors (iResult is the id of the applet):
iResult [ERROR] - Couldn't set query template: No Query Defined
iResult [ERROR] - Couldn't set display template: null
iResult [ERROR] - Couldn't set display template: null
Is this perhaps a general problem, that the MII applets are not working with Java 1.7.x versions?
If I call the same MII page from a client with Java 1.6.x it is working without errors.
Do you have some suggestions for me?

MII 14.0 SP4 :Migration error while importing SAP BM Templates

Hi Experts,
I am facing some migration errors while importing SAP Batch Manufacturing Templates into MII 14.0 SP4.
There are almost 23 transactions which are not getting imported and the error message for all of them is-
"Unable to migrate transaction Unable to import file
<Name of the Transaction>"
Any first hand experiences will be really helpful for me to proceed further.

NW PI 7.3 SP4 AdapterEngine and RWB do not work

Hi experts,
i am currently setting up a new NW 7.3 PI Landscape.
I have setup the Landscape by now successfully and implemented SP4.
After a succesfull run of the PI ConfigWizard there seems to be a problem of registering the adapter engine and runtime workbench to the sld.
I am using a local sld installed on the pi itself.
When i start the rwb i get the following error:
com.sap.aii.utilxi.sld.XISldException: Invalid Parameter: password = null or empty
In the LogViewer i see the following error messages:
Creating CIM client failed. Parameter password is empty
The user SLD_DS_<SID> also gets regularly locked.
I have triple checked all settings in the ExchangeProfile / JCO RFC Dest und HTTP Destinations
So it seems there are at some point credentials missing.
But i'm not able to find it. I have also opened a case at sap support but till now no response.
Maybe some of you had a similiar problem and can give me an advice.

Try out the below;
Please check if service property 'com.sap.aii.ibrep.core.usage_type' of
J2EE primary-service "com.sap.aii.utilxi.cfg.svc" was by mistake
set to "CE" by the WebAS Initial Setup CTC Wizard.
Start NetWeaver Administrator with http://<host>:<port>/nwa and navigateto 'Configuration > Infrastructure > Java System Properties.'.
Select the 'Service' tab and search for service name "XPI Service: AII
Config Service" (component name 'com.sap.aii.utilxi.cfg.svc').
Change property 'com.sap.aii.ibrep.core.usage_type' back to its default
value 'XPI'. Save and restart the whole Java stack.
You may have to run the PI self registration wizard again to see all components in the SLD

Xcelsius 2008 SP4 Failed to Open/Save from BusinessObjects Enterprise and throws an error Failed While Trying to Logon User "0000" RFC error: "LOGON_DATA_INCOMPLETE" when using SAP Authentication.
It works perfect with Enterprise.
Recently we have upgraded from Xcelsius 2008 SP3 FP 3.5 to Xcelsius 2008 SP4. It also displays the password without encrypting.

It was working good with SAP Authentication when using Xcelsius 2008 SP3 FP3.5

Hi,
As a starting point, i would strongly recommend you standardise all your component versions.
from what i can see, you've just asserted that Server, Integration Kit, and Client are all on different Fix levels..
that's not a nice baseline on which to investigate!
Also, patching would also include importing the correct SAP Transports into your BW. (they change almost every FP)

We changed our BO server / tools from XI SP4 to 4.0 SP2!.
Now I wonder what differences has it made in relation to the possibilities of the available apps.

UAG SP4 and Windows 8.1 native mail app

Hello,
I'm found that now SP4 for UAG is available. On the description of the SP4, it states the following: "Users can use the built-in Mail application on Windows 8.1 computers to connect to a published Microsoft Exchange server." What kind of Exchange
publication is that one? Is Outlook Anywhere? I would like to use this feature but I don't know what kind of Exchange publication is this.

Windows Mail Application Support IMAP and Exchange ActiveSync so in your case I believe you need to publish the ActiveSync to make it work

Sap E-recruiting ERP 6.0 EHP4 SP4

Hi Experts,
I am new to portal , Recently I deployed Business package E-recruiting ERP 6.0 EHP4 SP4 through SDM, it is seen in portal also and i assigned roles to some users, when users access the application i.e clicks on any iview it gives portal runtime error, i think i have to connect that to back end. How can i connect E-recruiting ERP 6.0 EHP4 SP4 to back end server? Is there any RFC's i have to configure? or Whether i have to create any JCO destinations for that like ESS / MSS package? If so what are those JCO destinations? provide some docs and any useful URL's for that.
Provide any URL's or docs regarding pre-deployment and post-deployment guide for E-recruiting ERP 6.0 EHP4 SP4.

From the portal side, you'll have to create a portal system that points to your SAP backend, assign alias, check if the BP is using ITS, WDA or WDJ and configure the systems.

JDBC Type 3 driver problem with WLS 6.1 SP4

We have Oracle 8.1.7.4 client running on WebLogic 6.1 SP4 on Solaris 2.6 connecting to Oracle OPS 8.1.7 running on Solaris 2.6. We are getting core dumps while running stress testing using Load Runner for 100 concurrent users. The performance is very good for a while in the beginning of the test and all of a sudden we see requests for connections queueing up on the WLS and the server crashes. Please send us details of any previous instances any one faced similar problem and the fix applied will be very helpful.

Design Studio error on IPAD - Version mismatch web tier 12.1.0.224 PJS 13.0.3.73 after upgrade from 4.0 SP7 to 4.1 SP4

Hi All,
we have BI 4.1 SP4 installed with Tomcat as our Application server.
While running the Design Studio AA application on IPAD we get the below error but other application are working fine on IPAD (WEBI, DASHBOARDS, EXPLORER)
We tried to redeploy the WAR files on Tomcat couple of time without any luck.
Request to help us in resolving this issue.

BO 4.1 SP4 IDT - Not able to publish the Business layer onto the repository

Hi All,
We are facing issues while publishing the Universe onto the repository. Just to give a background of the issue, we are connecting to Oracle 9i database from BO 4.1 SP4 Information Design Tool. We have client tools installed on one VM server and BO enterprise server on the other VM . I have installed Oracle 11g client 32 bit on the client tools server and 64 bit on BO Enterprise server. I can create a session to the BO server from the IDT tool successfully I have even created a secured connection published on SAP BO server which means there are no port issues.
I create the data foundation and business layer on IDT. I have created a test one with only two simple tables and do an integrity check and it works fine. When I publish the Universe, after I click the Finish button, it just freezes and doesnt get anything back for a long time. After that period, the finish button gets enabled again and if I check on the server, Universe is not published.
Based on the KB 1586166 - How to enable tracing for BI4.x client applications I created two BO_Trace.ini file in the following directories:
C:\<user-dir>\.businessobjects\bimodeler_14\config
D:\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\conf
I was getting the trace files earlier as well but I just changed to see if something happens. I I have a hs_error_pid4198 file created on monday, but it seems to be a java environment error file. I am not sure if its related. The trace I see on the InformationDesignTool_ncs file is

I am not seeing this error after I created the tracelog file .ini based on the KB mentioned. I have a trace file generated in the workspace folder but its 12MB size which I wont be able to post it here.

Follow the below steps: Publish the Universe to the Repository.
Select the business layer under project -> Right Click the Business Layer and select, publish repository from the menu. -> and next --> Choose the Repository Folder to store the Universe --> Publish Universe After clicking the “Finish” button
Note : Ensure the Connection for the corresponding Data Foundation is a Secure Connection.
