Create a JAVA client calling a proxy...

Hi,
I succeed creating a servlet that calls a web service via a "deployable proxy".
Is it possible to create a java class (not a servlet or jsp) that connect to this proxy ?
Here is a sample of my client class:
               InitialContext ic = new InitialContext();
               Z_RFC_WS_TESTService sampleWS =
                    (Z_RFC_WS_TESTService) ic.lookup("java:comp/env/SampleWSProxy");
The WEB server is not local....how do I insert the url and how do I get the name of the Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY ?
Thanks a lot.

Hi David,
first, once again, I'm not familiar with this proxy stuff. So about this I cannot say anything in detail.
All I recognized was that it seems that you try to access your J2EE servers JNDI context from outside, right? This is done by the now following solution, which shows you the whole context-tree of the J2EE's server JNDI root context:
package com.btexx.jndi.remote.test;
import java.util.Arrays;
import java.util.Properties;
import javax.naming.Context;
import javax.naming.InitialContext;
import javax.naming.NameClassPair;
import javax.naming.NamingEnumeration;
import javax.naming.NamingException;
public class Accessor {
  public static void main(String[] args) {
    Properties props = new Properties();
    props.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "com.sap.engine.services.jndi.InitialContextFactoryImpl");
    props.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "Administrator");
    props.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "BTXadm");
    props.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "prag:50004");
    try {
      InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(props);
      showInnerContent(ctx, 0);
    } catch (NamingException e) {
      e.printStackTrace();
  private static void showInnerContent(Context ctx, int indent) throws NamingException {
    NamingEnumeration enum = ctx.list("");
    while (enum.hasMore()) {
      NameClassPair pair = (NameClassPair) enum.next();
      char[] spcs = new char[indent];
      Arrays.fill(spcs, ' ');
      System.out.println(new String(spcs) + pair.getName());
      try {
        Context innerCtx = (Context) ctx.lookup(pair.getName());
        showInnerContent(innerCtx, indent+2);
      } catch (Exception e) {
For this, you need the following JARs from the server (maybe there exists a client package with all together):
<classpathentry kind="lib" path="frame.jar"/>
<classpathentry kind="lib" path="naming.jar"/>
<classpathentry kind="lib" path="util.jar"/>
<classpathentry kind="lib" path="exception.jar"/>
<classpathentry kind="lib" path="boot.jar"/>
<classpathentry kind="lib" path="iq-lib.jar"/>
<classpathentry kind="lib" path="p4.jar"/>
<classpathentry kind="lib" path="log_api.jar"/>
<classpathentry kind="lib" path="cross_api.jar"/>
<classpathentry kind="lib" path="appclient.jar"/>
<classpathentry kind="lib" path="security_api.jar"/>
<classpathentry kind="lib" path="security.jar"/>
<classpathentry kind="lib" path="bytecode.jar"/>
<classpathentry kind="lib" path="logging.jar"/>
Alltogether about 3MB.
Hope it helps (it should be precious anyhow),
Detlev

  • How to create a Java Client from a wsdl file...

    Hi,
    I am looking for an available option for calling a Cobol unit from a Java application( front end). I've used the MicroFocus tool for creating a wsdl file from our Cobol unit.. Now i want to use this wsdl file for creating a Java Client..
    Can any one suggest a suitable solution (software that makes use of the already existing wsdl file and generate a Java Client for that) ASAP....
    Thanks,
    roopa

    Hey you can create java client using Eclispe or WSAD or far that matter any other IDE. crate a project save the WSDLs in a package. Right click on WSDL goto webservice option. From there you can generate client.
    cheers,
    sapan
    Is it still open ?
    cheers,

  • Missing " Create Sample Java Client" from the context menu when debugging

    Jdev 11.1.1.3 on Windows 7 x64
    I have created an EJB - Session Bean from the ADF components and have put some logic into it with one public method.
    I have exposed the method in the local interface.
    I start the integrated server in the debug mode
    When I right-click there is no option to do the sample client.
    Am I missing a plug-in - like JUnit or something?
    From the manual:
    The integrated Oracle WebLogic Server runs within JDeveloper. You can run and test EJBs quickly and easily using this server, and then deploy your EJBs with no changes to them. You do not need to create a deployment profile to use this server, nor do you have to initialize it.
    To run a sample client on the integrated Oracle WebLogic Server: In the Application Navigator, right-click on an EJB and choose Run.
    Notice in the Message pane that Oracle WebLogic Server has been launched. Right-click on an EJB and choose Create Sample Java Client from the context menu. The default choice is to create a client for the integrated Oracle WebLogic Server, so click OK.
    The client is created and opens in the code editor. If your session bean serves as a facade over JPA entities, code is generated to instantiate the query methods. If you exposed methods on your bean, the generated client contains methods that can be uncommented to call them.
    After your EJB has been successfully started from the Application Navigator, right-click on the sample client and choose Run.

    Shay,
    Pretty much what I did exactly - except - since my apps are all using the local interface - I did not create the remote.
    This may be an old habit - but generally it is not a good practice to do both - though this may have changed lately.
    I have this app working and the EJBs are executing fine.
    I used a testview and drug the method onto it - and was able to debug it that way - but still no create java client in the menu.
    Is there any other place to find this other than the context menu? Then I can check to see if it is available.
    I am using WLS 10.3 that ships with Jdev 11.1.1.3 (forgot that little bit) without any changes.

  • Java client for OSB proxy with JMS Transport

    Hi,
    I am trying to call OSB proxy with JMS Transport. I am generating the client through ant task clientgen and following this article
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/murphy-soa-jms-092653.html
    The osb proxy is req-response and is simply routing to BS which return a string value.
    When I run my client, it get stuck and does not return at all. Has any one trying java client in such scenario?
    What I may be missing?
    Below is snipped of client code:
    String url = "http://localhost:7021/sbresource?PROXY/MySample/MyJMSProxyService";
    CreditLoanApprovalServiceSoapBindingQSService service = new CreditLoanApprovalServiceSoapBindingQSService_Impl(url);
    MyPortType port = service.getCreditLoanApprovalServiceSoapBindingQSPort();
    LoanStruct in = new LoanStruct(); //populated the data structure
    String loanResult = port.processLoanApp(in); // Stuck here without any error
    System.out.println("LoanResult--> " + loanResult);
    Thx
    /Ashwani

    http://localhost:7021/sbresource?PROXY/MySample/MyJMSProxyService is the WSDL URL of the proxy.
    Transport is is picked by the client from wsdl.
    As far as the documentation of client generation is there, there is no change.
    But meanwhile I have started working on sending the message directly to queue. JMSProxy is getting called. May be I will first run the proxy this way and then try troubleshooting the java client.
    Regards
    Ashwani

  • How to create a java application & call it from a PDA via TELNET

    Dear All,
    My objective is to create a java application that's hosted on a server and called remotely from a PDA using TELNET.
    I've created a java application using Eclipse & the jCurses library. Unfortunately, the jCurses API events and listener aren't enough and i wasn't able to achieve my target application functionality.
    Can anyone advise a library other than jCurses that can help create a java application that can be called from a PDA via TELNET?
    Is AWT an option ?
    Thanks in advance for your support,
    Best regards,
    Lana

    Is AWT an option ?Your server side Java application can use a Java library that
    creates a java.net.ServerSocket to listen for TCP connections from TELNET clients.
    You do not need any graphics (jCurses or AWT) on the server side, telnet is a simple ascii protocol.

  • Trying SAML sender-vouches, standalone Java client call to service bus.

    I've built a standalone Java client using Jax-ws. It produces a wsse header containing both a SAMLAttribute and an optional SAMLAuthentication statement.
    I've tried to configure a proxy service on the servicebus (10gR3) using ws-policy (weblogic version, not ws-1.2), configured a SAMLIdentityAsserter (v2), an identity provider partner and a SAMLIdentityNameMapper.
    I get the message weblogic.xml.crypto.wss.SecurityTokenValidateResult@ca32f2[status: false][msg The SAML token is not valid.]
    when sending SAML assertions which looks valid to me.
    If you see something missing or invalid in the SAML, something missing in the configuration or something else, I would be really glad.
    All examples are using a SAMLCredentialmapper, but I'm building a standalone client, so a weblogic SAMLCredentialMapper is out of the question (?).

  • Java client for calling a XI web service

    Hello,
    does anyone have created a Java client
    with Apache Axis? I tried it and it works
    for web service which aren't provided by

    The XI web service works. I tested it with

    I think there must be something special with

    So anyone got a tutorial/guide for this???
    thanks

  • How to invoke a proxy service from a java client

    Hi all,
    how could I invoke a proxy service from a java client ?
    The proxy service type is 'any xml service' with http protocol.
    For a proxy with web service type I can export the related WSDL and generate the java client source.
    With 'any xml service' there is no associated wsdl and I'm wondering how to do that.
    Thanks
    ferp

    Hi Ferp,
    I used ClientGEN to generate client files from WSDL deployed in ALSB. You can also use Axis for client file generation.
    You need to know the WSDL URL. Generate Client files from WSDL URL.
    Sample ANT Script
    <project name="simple-web" default="mytask" basedir=".">
    <taskdef name="clientgen" classname="weblogic.wsee.tools.anttasks.ClientGenTask" classpath="C:\bea92\weblogic92\server\lib\weblogic.jar"/>
    <target name="mytask" description="Generate web service client">
              <clientgen wsdl="http://<hostname>:<port>/URL?WSDL"
         destDir="src"
         packageName="com.client.mytask"
         classpath="${java.class.path}" />
         </target>
    </project>
    Use the following JAVA Code,
    try {
         ActivationService service = new ActivationService_Impl("http://<hostname>:<port>/url?WSDL");
    client = service.getActivationServicePort();
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    // Handle Exception
    client.activateNumber();
    Let me know if you need any more information.
    Thanks,
    Suman.

  • How to create Java client to use WCC web services

    I'm trying to create a Java client to use web services available with Web Center Content.

  • Error invoking Web Service from Java client

    Hi
    I have created an ALSB Proxy service and exposed it as a web service. I have created a Java Client the code for which is pasted below:
         String ENCODING_STYLE_PROPERTY = "javax.xml.rpc.encodingstyle.namespace.uri";
         String URI_ENCODING = "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/";
         String url = "http://localhost:7001/Dummy_ALSB_Project/proxy/Dummy_Proxy_Service?WSDL";
         String TARGET_NAMESPACE = "http://www.bea.com/servers/wls810/samples/examples/webservices/handler/log";
         QName xsdString = new QName("http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema", "string");
         ServiceFactory factory = ServiceFactory.newInstance();
         QName serviceName = new QName(TARGET_NAMESPACE, "LogHandler");
         QName portName = new QName(TARGET_NAMESPACE, "ProcessSoap");
         QName operationName = new QName("writeCustNameToFile");
         Service service = factory.createService(serviceName);
         Call call = service.createCall();
         call.setPortTypeName(portName);
         call.setOperationName(operationName);
         call.addParameter("param0", xsdString, ParameterMode.IN);
         call.setProperty(ENCODING_STYLE_PROPERTY,URI_ENCODING);
         call.setProperty(Call.SOAPACTION_USE_PROPERTY, new Boolean(true));
         call.setProperty(Call.SOAPACTION_URI_PROPERTY,"");
         //set end point address
         call.setTargetEndpointAddress(url);
         call.invoke(new Object[]{ "The Joshua Tree" });
    When I run the service, I get the following error:
    java.rmi.RemoteException: BEA-380001: Internal Server Error

    Any clues about what is going wrong?? Thanks in advance.

    It's recommended to use the same verison of client and service.

  • How to insert message in OC4J JMS from standalone java client.

    Hi,
    I have been following available examples for creating standalone java clients to insert messages in JMS queues.
    I am able to insert using java client when the SOA suite and the standalone java code are on same machine.
    package producerconsumerinjava;
    import javax.jms.*;
    import javax.naming.*;
    import java.util.Hashtable;
    public class QueueProducer
    public static void main(String[] args)
    String queueName = "jms/demoQueue";
    String queueConnectionFactoryName = "jms/QueueConnectionFactory";
    Context jndiContext = null;
    QueueConnectionFactory queueConnectionFactory = null;
    QueueConnection queueConnection = null;
    QueueSession queueSession = null;
    Queue queue = null;
    QueueSender queueSender = null;
    TextMessage message = null;
    int noMessages = 5;
    * Set the environment for a connection to the OC4J instance
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "oracle.j2ee.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory");
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "oc4jadmin");
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "mypass");
    env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,"ormi://myserver.company.com:12402"); //12402 is the rmi port
    * Set the Context Object.
    * Lookup the Queue Connection Factory.
    * Lookup the JMS Destination.
    try
    jndiContext = new InitialContext(env);
    queueConnectionFactory =
    (QueueConnectionFactory) jndiContext.lookup(queueConnectionFactoryName);
    queue = (Queue) jndiContext.lookup(queueName);
    catch (NamingException e)
    System.out.println("JNDI lookup failed: " + e.toString());
    System.exit(1);
    * Create connection.
    * Create session from connection.
    * Create sender.
    * Create text message.
    * Send messages.
    * Send non text message to end text messages.
    * Close connection.
    try
    queueConnection = queueConnectionFactory.createQueueConnection();
    queueSession =
    queueConnection.createQueueSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    queueSender = queueSession.createSender(queue);
    message = queueSession.createTextMessage();
    for (int i = 0; i < noMessages; i++)
    message.setText("Message " + (i + 1));
    System.out.println("Producing message: " + message.getText());
    queueSender.send(message);
    queueSender.send(queueSession.createBytesMessage());
    catch (JMSException e)
    System.out.println("Exception occurred: " + e.toString());
    finally
    if (queueConnection != null)
    try
    queueConnection.close();
    catch (JMSException e)
    System.out.println("Closing error: " + e.toString());
    But when the SOA Suite is remote, I am struggling to get the settings correct
    Till now, here is what I have figured out from looking at blogs/tars etc on the Net:
    1. I need to use ApplicationClientInitialContextFactory instead of RMIInitialContextFactory (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14101_01/doc.1013/e13975/jndi.htm)
    2. The project should have a META-INF/application-client.xml file, which may be dummy (http://www.wever.org/java/space/Oracle/JmsTar1). Question is, my code is there in a single absolutely standalone code..how I can use this application-client.xml and where it has to be placed.
    Errors:
    When trying to run exact same code on local server that tries to enqueue JMS on remotee serverer
    Exception occurred: javax.jms.JMSException: Unable to create a connection to "xxxxxxx.yyyyyy01.dev.com/10.42.456.11:12,602" as user "null".
    Any help is greatly welcome.
    As an exercise, I copied this complete code on the server and then ran locally using a telnet client...it worked. So the problem is coming when accessing the server remotely.
    Rgds,
    Amit

    1. I need to use ApplicationClientInitialContextFactory instead of RMIInitialContextFactoryNot necessarily.
    2. The project should have a META-INF/application-client.xml fileThat's only necessary if going the ApplicationClientInitialContextFactory route.
    There are two types of JMS client applications you can write -- a pure/plain Java app, and an "AppClient". That first is your everyday run-of-the-mill Java application, nothing special. That latter is a special, complicated beast that tries to act as a part of the whole client/server/J2EE architecture which provides you with a semi-managed environment. Either can be made to work, but if all you need is JMS access (using plain OC4J JMS factory/queue names and not JMS Connector names), then the first is easier to get working (and performs a tiny bit better as well due to being a lighter-weight solution).
    I think the problem you are having might be: When you use the plain Java client solution, you do not have any type of management, and that includes user management. With no user management (and if the JMS server is not configured to allow anonymous connections) you need to include the username and password in the call to createConnection. (I think it may be that this is actually true in the AppClient case as well -- I avoid using the AppClient model as much as possible so my memory there is weaker.)
    If you prefer to go the AppClient route, I would point you to a demo I wrote which had a functioning example, but Oracle seems to have removed it (and all of the 10.1.3 demos?) from OTN. :-(
    Hmm, it seems to still be available on the wayback machine:
    http://web.archive.org/web/20061021064014/www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/1013/how_to/index.html
    (Just look down the page for "With OEMS JMS (In-Memory and File-Based)" -- there is an .html document with info, and there is a .zip file with source code.)
    Question is, my code is there in a single absolutely standalone code..how I can use this application-client.xml and where it has to be placed.The app client in my demo had the following directory structure:
    myjavaclient.class
    jndi.properties
    META-INF\MANIFEST.MF

    When you use ApplicationClientInitialContextFactory I think it just looks under .\META-INF for the .xml files.

  • Not able to receive the web service response to java client - jax-rpc

    HI,
    Have a wsdl and created the java client using wscompile and got the set of files (Port, Binding, ServiceLocator, Service and all related java files).
    My java client sends the valid java request to the webserver and i could see the correct response coming back to my machine as the reply from the webserver.
    But i couldnt get the response printed using System.out.println in my java client when i invoke call.invoke() method with needed input parameters.
    Do i need to set any encoding or how do i get the response in the my java client which is returned from the webserver?

    The whole PL/SQL which fails in case it helps to solve the issue
