You're practically answering your own question, Shlomit.  Those are InDesign "presets", unrelated to Bridge.
In Bridge you can create Page Presets and define the "Quality" (Bridge nomenclature) of the PDF.  See images below.
Additionally you can further edit and resave any PDF in Acrobat.
It's always a good idea to read the documentation, consult the Help files and explore the application.

  • How can I create a PDF contact sheet of photos in finder

I'm trying to create an automator workflow/action (or service) that will allow me to select a set of photos in the finder and then create a PDF contact sheet that will include the Photo filename. I know that I can select photos and open in preview, but these do not include the filename with the photo in the saved PDF.
I'm a newbie with Automator, but i gave it a try myself.
In the Automator PDF Library, there is an action called "New PDF contact sheet", however I can't seem to be able to get it to work. I dragged that action to the workflow and then added "Get Selected Finder Items" before that.
It appears to run it--an "application"/window appears titled "MakePDF" and it appears to run through the selected photos. However, at the end (after it asks for the file name to save it with), it says that "The action “New PDF Contact Sheet” encountered an error--check the actions properties and try running the workflow again".
What am I leaving out of the workflow?

There is a bug in the *New PDF Contact Sheet* action in that it is looking for the Leopard version of a file that moved and changed in Snow Leopard.
Snow Leopard has a newer version of a support application MakePDF.app in the */System/Library/Image Capture/Automatic Tasks* folder, but as mentioned the *New PDF Contact Sheet* action seems to still require the older version of the application, which in Leopard is located in the */System/Library/Image Capture/Tools* folder. If you have access to a Leopard installation, you can copy the MakePDF.app from Leopard and place it into the same location in Snow Leopard (/System/Library/Image Capture/Tools) - this will get the action working again.

  • Lightroom 2.2 crashes when creating PDF contact sheet

I'm trying to create a PDF contact sheet for a client urgently. Contact sheet is 10 pages, 6 columns by 5 rows. Printing at 240 dpi with PDF set to JPG medium. System is windows XP with 3GB RAM & 1GB Video RAM. Most of the shots have had some kind of Lightroom brush adjustment, mainly selective sharpening or selective exposure.
First page always seems to print out fine. Second page will not print, even if if I try to print just that page.
Layout is set to show file names and page numbers, print sharpening is off.

That's the LR 2.2 memory bug. Upgrade it to 2.3 (see top of forum)

  • New PDF Contact Sheet help

    Hi,
I am trying to use Automator to create a simple application that takes a set of images and creates a pdf contact sheet.
When I create an application in automator with the New PDF Contact Sheet action and run it, I get an error "There was an error in processing the images (-2700) in the log. What gives - how do I solve this error? This is the only action, aside from the "Get Specified Finder Items" action.
Oddly, it seems that the contact sheet pdf is getting created and placed in the Pictures folder. But the final result of a pdf in the location specified by the action is not getting created.
    Thanks

I have found a work around solution, which i think maybe the origin of the problem. You will need to also install a work flow app called Life-Poster. by Jim Heid. Below is the link.
When i installed that and used the New PDF Contact Sheet a noticed a new app in the doc called MakePDF. And the rest of my workflow worked perfectly as it did in Leopard. It seems that apple has either left out this makePDF app out of snow leopard or made a change to it in some way it is not recognized or called properly in the New PDF Contact Sheet Action.

Good luck hope it works for you like it did for me.

  • Blank pdf contact sheet using Image Capture

I have tried using image capture to create a .pdf contact sheet of 12 jpgs but when I open the file it is blank.
Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong please?

Try with a resolution of 75 or 150.
Also when printing there are options to "fit to 1 page". The recipient should do that.

  • Automator Action 'New PDF Contact Sheet' returns a blank page

I'm running into some bugs with Automator again. Seems like with each major OS update, things in Automator gets fixed while other things break.
This time, the New PDF Contact Sheet action seems to have lost its functionality.
To recreate the issue, I created a new workflow that , tion input and feeds them right into the single action (new pdf contact sheet), which outputs them to the desktop as a PDF file.
Every time, the pdf file is just a single blank white page. Am I missing something here?
Why is such a basic thing getting borked?

It works for me.  Here's the workflow I setup:
If the application is open dropping a folder of photos on it won't work. I  get the blank doucment.  One has to use the File ➙ Open menu and select the folder of photos.

  • Automator Make PDF Contact Sheet

Problems with the Make PDF Contact Sheet workflow/Service in Snow Leopard have been noted, eg
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12138199&#12138199
The suggested solution is to replace MakePDF.app in Snow Leopard with the previous version of this file. This option is not available to me.
However I have found that, although I get the error message +The action "New PDF Contact Sheet" encountered an error+, in fact the required pdf has been created, not in the specified folder, but in my Pictures folder - file name 'untitled on [date] at [time]'.
I hope this may be useful.

  • How to create a Proof/Contact sheet in CS5??

    Hey there,
I'm using Bridge CS5 and trying to work out how to create a Proof/Contact sheet as then save as a PDF?
I found a tutorial online, but when I followed the instructions and went into the 'Output' Workspace... the actual Output Panel doesn't come up, and I'm confused why.
    Please help

    Hi there
The help is saying to click View > Toolbars > Formatting (in case the toolbar has been turned off)
Perhaps the image below will better assist in locating the icon.
    Cheers... Rick

  • How can I save a PDF contact sheet? (for Windows)

I've searched everywhere but it seems that it's only possible to save a PDF contact sheet on a Mac through the print prompt.. is it not possible to do this somehow in the Windows version?

I don't know Mac, but on Windows, you have to own a PDF writer (usually a printer driver) which produces PDFs instead of hardcopy prints from any application. There is lots of freeware and buyable products around. The same applies to LR.

  • Displaying Metadata In Aperture's Pdf Contact Sheet

    Hello everyone,
I have been using Aperture's PDF contact sheets. It has a nifty way of showing metadata like caption underneath the photo. My problem is i do not want to display "Caption : TreeStump" I only want to display "TreeStump"
Is there a way of doing this in aperture, or is there a plugin that can do this for me?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Jay.

I don't see a way of doing it from within aperture.

  • PDF Contact Sheet

How do I set the distance between pictures when I make a PDF Contact Sheet. I don't want the filename showing and I want to make the pictures closer together.

Turn off Auto-Spacing in the Layout panel and uncheck Filename in the Overlays panel.
It's a bit hit or miss but you can keep refreshing the preview till you get it how you want it.
(I assume you are talking about Bridge CS4.)

  • I would like to create pages for our yearbook what is the best software

I would like to create pages for our yearbook what is the best software - pages does seem limited.

Keynote...it could make a book, but it's probably questionable whether you'd want to manage hundreds of pictures and lots of pages with it.
    Why is that questionable?
Because Keynote does not have the industrial-strength tools to handle long form text and large numbers of graphics. When you make a long or complex document, you sometimes have to go in and fix problems in bulk, like text formatting, or updating graphics, or finessing the layout on 200 pages, things like that. A program like InDesign can deal with it through things like paragraph styles, character styles, table styles (not one-off styles, but the kind that let you update a style name and have all text that uses that style update across all pages), or a powerful link manager that lets you keep graphics outside the document so you can easily update them by reference, in bulk if needed. InDesign also has some great tools like the ability to import multiple photos at once and have them place on the layout as a nice yearbook-style grid, the instant they land on the page, without having to arrange them after they come in.
Finally, an app like InDesign knows how to print to a commercial press, or how to produce a press-ready PDF. Keynote has no idea.
A yearbook can run a couple hundred pages and involve hundreds of photos. I would not touch such a project with anything that wasn't truly up to the task. The best software would be InDesign or QuarkXPress. Word is not good enough. Pages is not good enough. You will tear your hair out as you fix problems on page after page, photo after photo. Keynote would probably be laughable for a yearbook. I use Keynote for presentations, Keynote is the best at what it does. A yearbook is nothing like a presentation.
