Create a Script Task in c# against Sql Serveur 2008 R2
Hello,
I am trying to create a package with C#,I having issues to create the script task.My code is :
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Text;
using System.Threading.Tasks;
using Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime;
using Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.ScriptTask;
using System.IO;
using Microsoft.SqlServer.VSTAHosting;
Package pkg = new Package();
Executable exec=pkg.Executables.Add("STOCK:ScriptTask");
TaskHost th = (TaskHost)exec;
ScriptTask task = (ScriptTask)th.InnerObject;
And i am getting this bug on the last line ,
{"Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to class type 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.ScriptTask.ScriptTask'. Instances of types that represent COM components cannot be cast to types that do not represent COM components; however they
can be cast to interfaces as long as the underlying COM component supports QueryInterface calls for the IID of the interface."}
I add as a reference these dlls :
Microsoft.SqlServer.ScriptTask
Microsoft.SqlServer.DTSPipelineWrap
Microsoft.SQLServer.ManagedDTS
Microsoft.SqlServer.ScriptTask
Microsoft.SqlServer.VSTAScriptingLib
Microsoft.VisualStudio.Tools.Applications.DesignTime.v9.0
System.AddIn
All the best
Vincent
Probably you need to follow the notion from https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sqlserver.dts.tasks.scripttask.scripttask.scripttask.aspx
Package pkg = new Package();
Executable exec = pkg.Executables.Add("STOCK:ScriptTask");
TaskHost th = exec as TaskHost;
ScriptTask Task = th.InnerObject as ScriptTask;

Hi, My management is wanting all the developers (database and .net) to upgrade from Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2012. We are currently using SQL Server 2008 R2 for our data warehouse and using Business Intelligence (SSIS,
SSAS, and SSRS) to maintain it. Our database team is also wanting to create database projects and include that in our Team Foundation Server 2010 code repository along with our BI code. From what I've been able to research googling the
internet is there are two products available SSDT and SSDT-BI which can be installed into VS2012, but it appears that only SSDT for database projects is the only thing that will work until we someday upgrade to SQL Server 2012. Most of the information
I've found on the internet regarding this subject is over a year old and a lot can change in a year. So my questions are can we install VS2012 and both SSDT and SSDT-BI to create and maintain the SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS currently in our SQL Server 2008
R2 database? If we can install these three items, VS2012 and the two SSDTs, and are able to create new BI and maintain our current BI in our SS2008R2 database then what issues might we have with our TFS2010 code repository? We prefer
to use only VS2012 or VS2008 but not both at the same time. If we can't do everything we are currently doing in VS2008 with our SS2008R2 database by switching to VS2012 and the two SSDTs then we will stay with VS2008 until we someday upgrade
to SS2012. Please advise and thank you. James M.I'm going to move this to the SSAS blog, where most SSDT-BI questions are answered (this forum mainly answers SSDT questions). Someone there may be able to give you better information but here's what I know:
- I think you'll only need to install SSDT-BI since you're using SSIS, SSAS and SSRS. SSDT is the database tooling which it sounds like you wouldn't use, and it's actually built into VS2012 in any case.
- SSIS projects don't work with earlier versions of SQL Server, but SSAS and SSRS do. Details are on
this blog post. I don't have enough knowledge to suggest workarounds or best practices for handling the SSIS issue. Perhaps you could keep 2 projects, or 2 branches of the same project (one for 2012, one for 2008) if that's possible? I think your BIDS projects
will be upgraded to SSDT-BI compatible projects so it's work checking them into source control, upgrading, then comparing to understand what's changed. You might be able to keep the same overall source and just change a few settings in the different branches?
Hopefully someone on the SSAS forum can help give you more information and suggestions.

Spry to block script characters to protect against sql injection
I am new so please be patient and I hope I am in the right forum. I would like to set up a Spry widget that I could apply to forms in my site for text area. This would block any code like <> * and only allow a-zA-Z and 0-9. I would like to be able to add this widget to Dreamweaver so that I can call it up any time I add a text area. I am hoping to use this to block SQL injection on my sites.
Can this be done by a rookie?
Thanks!Sure it can be done, but there are some flaws in your idea. Having a client side validation is always good for the user experiance, but these validations are only executed client side, and when the user has javascript enabled. So when you users disable javascript they would probably still be able to create SQL injections.
So I wouldn't really use client side validations for you issue, but search for a server side alternative. Most server side languages already provide you with utilities you can use to prevent the most common SQL injection types. So you might want to digg in to that first. -
Script task error during the creation of partition by reading a table and using AMO - SSAS 2012
Hi,
I need to create SSAS (tabular) and process partitions in an authomatic manner. Moreover, the partitioning is respect to a category, an year and a month.
Category, year and month are resident on a table to read to create the SSAS partitions.
So, in a SSIS pkg:
a. I've created a data flow task to read the SQL Server table having category, year and month data,
b. I've connected the output of the ole db source as the input for a recordset destination, associated to an object variable,
c. I've used a for each loop container (ado enumerator) specifying the object variable and three variables, for category, year and month,
d. inside the for each loop container I've created a script task using AMO (visual basic) to control for any existing partitions, if not presents to create the new ones and then to process them.
For the first iteration, a new partition has been created and processed successfully, but then, for other category, year and month values the script task fails. I've controlled the code many times and I've tried to put returning messageboxes but I've found
anything. The error is a generic one and no other info are returned.
Well, any suggests to me in order to solve this issue, please?
Many thanksHi, thanks, I've solved adding to the code end the SSAS server connection termination.

Web Reference inside Script Task causes Binary code for script not found error
I am attempting to access a SOAP web API (sales force) from a SSIS package. To do this I created a script task.
Inside the script task I went to Add Service Reference. Then I click advanced to make it a web reference. Then I point it to the WSDL file and give it a name SFEnterprise. It successfully finds and adds the Web Reference to the script task.
I leave scriptMain.cs alone and I have no warnrings and no errors. Now in the solution explorer I right-click the script task and hit BUILD. I see the message from Output that BUILD succeeded.
I close the VSTA script editor and now I am back on the control flow window. However I have a red X on the script task with the following message. "The Binary code for the script is not found. Please open the script in the designer by clicking EditScript
button and make sure it builds successfully"
But it does build successfully! And I have not even added any custom code except for the web reference using the WSDL file.
I am using SSIS 2012 and Visual Studio 2012. I have been reading about this binary code error message on Google searches and suggestions about delay validation and turning off pre-compile do not apply to SSIS 2012.
Is SSIS not capable of doing this?I was wanting to use the 2.0 coding style of accessing the soap service which is supported by adding the web reference vs. adding a service reference. But using a service reference instead of web reference actually allows the script task to compile. This
is really odd behavior. I wonder why one works and not the other.
Changing my C# code over to service reference coding style to access the SOAP service was still returning an error. When I added a break point I found the error message "Could not find default endpoint element that references contract in the ServiceModel
client configuration section"when calling new SoapClient();
I found this page http://www.sqlis.com/sqlis/post/Where-is-my-appconfig-for-SSIS.aspx and after I copied the System.ServiceModel app settings from the script task app.config to the DTSDebugHost.exe.config it was able to successfully login to the endpoint
during package debug mode.
This means I will have to edit the SQL Server DTS config files on the prod SSIS server to get the package to actually run in the job agent.
So for now I am good I think just plugging away at coding what the script task is actually supposed to do now that is can actually login. -
Creating Data Source to SQL Server 2008 in SharePoint Designer 2013
Hello,
I have been trying to create a Data Source connection to a SQL Server 2008 Database. I use a custom string and I choose the table to display and hit ok. When I try to click on the connection to edit it I get the following error.Hi Derek,
According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you edited the Data Source connected to SQL Server.
How did you create the Data Source connected to SQL server using custom string?
I recommend to connect to the database by saving the user name and password to see if the issue still occurs.
More information are provided in the link below:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint-designer-help/add-a-database-as-a-data-source-HA010355745.aspx
Best regards.
Thanks

Issue while connecting to MS SQL Server 2008
Hi everyone,
I have not seen any thread that gives me a clue to my problem.
I have OBIEE 10.1.3.4.0 on Windows.
I have created an ODBC3.5 Datasource to a SQL Server 2008 and the test connection is successful.
I have also imported the tables from the SQL Server 2008 into the Physical Layer of the OBIEE Administration tool. However after check-in, my problem begins trying to do an Update Row Count with the following Error message:
NQODBCSQL_STATE: HY000nQSError: 10058 A general error has occurred.
nQSError: 43093 An error occured while processingthe EXECUTE PHYSICAL statement.
nQSError: 16023 The ODBC function has returned an error. The database may not be available, or the network may be down.
Any suggestion or pointer will be greatly appreciated.Reading your post Issue in connecting to MS SQL Server 2008 I guess this thread here can be closed.

UD Connect with SQL Sever 2008
Hi,
I created a ud connect for connect with SQL Server 2008 but not working. Message: UDCADAPTERROR::RSSDK|100| Unable to connect to destination.
When I try with SQL Server 2005 work very well.
For both I used Microsoft SQL Server JDBC Driver 2.0.
Someone has an idea.....
Thanks!
Fernanda.Hi,
I used Microsoft SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver 1.2 with HotFix JDBC Driver 1.2.
"The customer needs to use our JDBC driver 1.2 in the state of hotfix 12. The customer shall go to the SAP Service Market Place. They shall read OSS note #639702. In that OSS note (SAPu2019s flavor of our KBAs), they find the location for the hotfixed JDBC driver on the SAP Market Place and the exact way how to replace the origin DataDirect driver SAP delivered for a while."
Good Luck!
Best Regards,
Fernanda. -
I have a script task written in C# that creates an array of strings "arrayFields" after parsing a text file. It saves the array of strings in a DTS variable.
Each row in array represents a row is comma separated and is a row that must be inserted into a table. For example,
X and Z are fields in the table
X1, X2,....Xn
Z1,Z2,...Zn
I am using a Foreach Loop to grab each row and then Execute SQL Task to take each row from the array and insert each field per row in a table,
The SQL is something like,
INSERT dbo.table values(field1, field2,...fieldn) arrayFields?
What should this this INSERT look like?I guess you implemented
Shredding a Recordset
Based on what I understood (correct me if I am wrong) you have difficulties mapping the input parameters, if so here is the guide
http://www.sqlis.com/sqlis/post/The-Execute-SQL-Task.aspx
In short it might look like
INSERT dbo.table (ColumnA, ColumnB,...) VALUES (?,?...)
The syntax for the T-SQL INSERT is http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd776381%28v=sql.105%29.aspx

Running a Select query against multiple sql servers using SSIS script task.
Hi Guys,
I need to fetch data from multiple sql servers using SSIS scirpt task inside a foreach container.
is there anyway i can build dynamic sql connections using ssis variables inside SSIS script task in each loop
Please guide me or refer any blogs so that i will try..
Thanks in advance.Your only options is using .net code, then it will be no different than using a console app in a loop.
using (SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(connectionString))
connection.Open();
Console.WriteLine("ServerVersion: {0}", connection.ServerVersion);
Console.WriteLine("State: {0}", connection.State);
and so forth for each connection string
the connection string would come from the ForEach loop

I am trying to create my first SSIS package using SQL 2012 Server Data Tools which will invoke a script task. I added the script task, put in the code, and when I try to test out the package, I get a "data at the root level is invalid" error
message. I tried creating a new project from scratch, did a build and run w/in the IDE (with no code behind), worked ok. Added the script task (with no code behind), and I get the same error.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?Are you sure it is not XML?
How would I repro the issue?
Please share all the steps, but I think the code has an issue.

Script Task Builds Successfully But Still Has Compile Error (SQL 2012)
This is repost in a way but the problem has not gone away and I really need to find a solution.
I have some script from SSIS 2008 that uses the ReportExecution2005
web service to execute SSRS reports and save the results to Excel. There were some initial problems with confusion between Web Service Reference (legacy?) and Service Reference (WCF) but I think that I have that sorted out
now.
The remaining problem is that, while the VB script (which I have pasted in from a working SSIS 2008 Script Task) builds/complies without error, I get a compile error when I close the Script Task and it has the dreaded "Red X" in the Control
Flow. If I attempt to run the package I get a message box saying that there is a compile error.
How can I identify the problem and fix the error? The script itself has no errors in SSIS 2008.
R CampbellThis is the code by the way (see below) as pasted into the Main sub.
I have added
http://localhost/reportserver/reportexecution2005.asmx as a Web Service
Reference (under the "Advanced" button) not just a Service Reference (WCF).
I can build the code without error but I get an error, saying that there is compile error, when I close the Script Task.
ReportExecutionService definitely shows up in Object Explorer, not the
WCF "equivalent" of ReportExecutionServiceSoapClient.
I have always had the impression, that when you close a Script Task, a compiler kicks in to auto-generate some internal script. Could it be (as seems likely) that this compiler is picking up errors that "Build" doesn't (when the script is open)?
I think that there was once an explicit Compile rather than just Build option in the Script editing environment but I can't find it in SQL 2012 Database Tools (nee BIDS).
