Create link to document services into VA43

Hi expert,
in various transaction exists a link to document services with toolbox in left corner (trx FB03, ME21N, ...).
In SD sales order object don't exist !!!
How to create the link in transaction VA41/2/3 and VA01/2/3 ?

Hi Danielsan,
For the objects which are not available in standard object link options in DMS, need to use screen exit for the required object display code. Check in SE80 whether screen exit is available for the same. With help of abap'r you can maintain the DMS screen in Sales order screen and also can add Sales order in object link.

Please check material master - view 'Bases data 2'.
There is checkbox 'No link'. You can activate this checkbox if you are not storing any drawing/designe docuemnt for this material.
Try to do this and check out again.....

Hello, You know those emails that we get from stores with images that you click on and each image opens a different link? How do you make these documents in Appleworks? Thanks, Jerry P.S. I've gotten as far as making a .cwk file, which works fine once it opens up in Appleworks but of course when I send it via email you don't see the image, merely an Appleworks file icon and you have to open it up with Appleworks in order to view the image and open the link.

You got the normal behaviour for an AppleWorks document.
As far as I know, if you want an other behaviour, you must use an other tool.

PDF form - Create link to folder or other document

I've created PDF Form with various field along js. now client is asking the option to insert the link of other document reference in the field by using button. similar to browse to give the "link of document location in the server" in the field by using button.
please help to make this.

I see. That is more complicated to implement... Basically you could do it
like this:
- Set the text field's option "Field is used for file selection" under
Properties - Options.
- Then add a MouseUp action to the button that executes this JavaScript
code:
this.getField("Link").browseForFileToSubmit();
- When the button is then clicked it will open a file selection dialog and
will populate the selected file path into the text field.

Visio document imported into a SharePoint VisioWebAccess webpart : open links in new tab or window

Hello.
I'm using a SharePoint Server 2010, with a Visio Web Access WebPart.
With Visio 2010, I created a vdw document which I put in this webpart.
This works very well, but i have some hyperlinks which I want to be opened in a new tab (or a new window), so that he SharePoint page won't be replaced by the target page.
So, in Visio, I tried to modify the ShapeSheet of each hyperlink, by setting the "NewWindow" to true. Unfortunately, it does not work : links are replacing the current page.
I found nothing on the web that could give me a trick to do this.
Has anyone an idea ?

You can create some JavaScript code that will open the hyperlink in a new window. Here is a JavaScript sample that will open the first hyperlink applied to a shape in a new browser window. I have tested it in both IE and FireFox.

Note that this code requires that each page have a "cold shape" that does not have any hyperlinks applied to it. In my test drawing, I added a hidden shape (in ShapeSheet, Width = 0, Height = 0) that did not have any hyperlinks. This is because the Vwa.shapeselectionchanged
event fires when you switch pages, which creates the possibility that the JavaScript code will open a new window when you change pages in the viewer.

RH9 - Can not create ANY links in linked Word documents ;-(

Ok, this does not make sense:
- From RH9, create a fresh empty project
- Create two word files "Topic1.docx" and "Topic2.docx"
- Put "Link Here" in each document
- Save the documents
- From Project Manager, Project Files, link both documents, generate, update all, etc.
- Now create hyperlinks in each topic, pointing to the other topic using default topic editor in RH9
- Save All and Generate the WebHelp project and test the links are there and work.
- Now open and edit both word documents in word. Add some text to each and save
- In RH9 Project Manager, Project files, Update All and open the topics in RH9 default editor
Walla, the full text is there, the LINKS are gone. Actually, I understand that this is how it works, but the BIG problem is that links to bookmarks, other topics, links to outside resources created in RH9 Default Editor cannot be preserved when the related/linked document is edited in Word. AND, you cannot create ANY of these links in the Word documents. So, you have a help system that has really nice update features when an author makes a change to a document, but NO LINKS. Updating a linked document will DELETE ANY changes made within the RH9 Default Editor.
Does this make any sense? Has my brain fallen down? Is there another workflow option?

I have been observing this thread and wanted to just chip in to remove some misnomers,
1. If you create any hyperlink from any MS Word document (say Doc1) to another MS Word document (say Doc2) and you import the original document (Doc1) then it brings its reference (that is the word document Doc2) as baggage in the RoboHelp project and the hyperlink is not created to the html file generated for the word document Doc2 (linked or imported seprately).
thus if you click the hyperlink in RoboHelp it should open the word document Doc 2 (that was brought into the project as baggage)
2. If word "conversion setting" alone are modified (like the settings “convert references to hyperlinks”) then at times the mapping fails to work, in such scenarios just go to the conversion settings dialog of FrameMaker and modify multiple “other settings” (it won’t impact your word conversion mapping.) Now any conversion settings applied for word will work.
Hence the “convert references to hyperlinks” is working but you need to update any FrameMaker conversion settings to get it working
@ Lyle – as now the flow must be clearer so I would give you a suggestion to merge all the word documents that you want to work with and use cross-references to places you want to have hyperlinks and use the option to “convert references to hyperlinks” in RoboHelp.and keep all the authoring in word document so that nothing is lost on update.
NB – There is a method to create intra document cross references in MS Word
In FrameMaker the concept of book gives it a sense of collection and thus cross references across FM documents inside a book are converted easily but in Word there is no way to group word documents and thus it is not possible to convert any spatial hyperlinks from one document to another.

I'm not entirely sure where this conversation is going and why you are querying tables.
From your original post you asked is it possible to link expenses that have already been added to the system, the simple answer is yes.
When you are creating a service call, go to the Expenses tab and click on the Expense Details button. From here click New Document. Select the type of document you want to add such as Sales Order. This automatically opens up the Sales Order form in Add mode, from here you can go in to Find mode (Cntrl & F), enter the Sales Order number that you want to add, when that is on the screen click OK. This will move that sales order number to the Service Call expenses screen where you can update.

Create links to other Pages documents

I am a singer and have been using a binder with all my lyrics in it for shows. I got an iPad for my birthday and want to use it in the binder's place. With each show the set list changes and I'd like to be able to create a setlist document in Pages with links to other Pages documents with the corresponding lyrics. The lyrics documents would be static; the setlist document would always be changing. The links in the setlist document would be like hyperlinks of sorts, except instead of taking you to the web, they would take you to other Pages documents in the My Documents folder in Pages.
I've searched all over the place for a solution. I've even tried using spotlight to search for the lyrics documents as a workaround, but spotlight doesn't find the Pages documents. Is this something I can set up on my MacBook and then transfer to my iPad? Is there other software besides Pages that can do this?

I think it would be much simpler to save your lyrics as pdfs and use one of the many dedicated music apps that allow you to create setlists. I use forScore (love it!), but you might also check out Unreal Book and Music Reader.
If you have a Mac, of course it's a cinch to print any file to PDF. For windows, possibly the free version of CutePDF would work for you.
EDIT I see you already have these printed out in binders. Just scan to PDF, then.

Just thought I'd add my solution, I decided to go with WebDAV and I think it actually works better than the iTunes way, the steps are pretty much the same but avoiding the iTunes interface just makes things easier and faster.
I followed this guide but it does have a small mistake in the httpd-dav.conf file, on line 2, where it's WebServer/WebDAV">, it should be <Directory "/Library/WebServer/WebDAV">.
The tricky part is setting permissions which if wrong will give you errors when connecting with the iPad, I opted to set all to Read&Write since my home network has a hardware firewall. Another convenience was to add an alias to the webdav share on the Desktop.
I'm still expecting the call from Apple but even if they fix the iTunes I'm sticking with WebDAV, atleast until I see what's new with iOS5 and iCloud this fall which should bring true sync for documents (I'm hoping that they will offer encryption with my own keys, if not, then I'll probably keep using WebDAV).

You may (you can see Groups in the Layers palette with the layer expanded):
1) Ctrl/Cmd+A to select everything and Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+G to Ungroup ;
2) ShiftClick the circle to deselect it; if it is still a Group (all of its own), Ungroup again;
3) With the Centre Reference Point ticked in the Transform palette multiply the W or H value by 1.1 (just add *1.1 in the box) and Ctrl/CmdEnter to keep proportions (this is to make sure that they are long enough);
4) Ctrl/Cmd+A to select everything again and Pathfinder>Divide (this will make pie pieces);
5) Drag over the centre with the Direct Selection Tool and press Delete (this will rid you of the inner parts of the pie pieces so you just have the outer rim in pieces).
This should give you the 30 independent curved lines forming the circle, two of them with an extra (original) Anchor Point.

I created a word document with hyperlinks. When my default browser is Chrome the hyper links work. When the default browser is Safari, the hyperlinks bring to pages that just lines and lines of symbols. I need these links to work in both browsers.

Creating link to excel document within PDF portfolio

i created a pdf portfolio and created links to pdf documents within portfolio but am unable to create a link to the excel documents. I can't even create a link to direct them to a specific folder where the item is held. HELP, New to pdf portfolio's!

One option is to create a PDF from the Excel spreadsheet and link to that.
If you want to update the spreadsheet, you could create a Web Content overlay (or HTML article) that links to a Google spreadsheet. I've played around with linking to a Google presentation, and it works fine. You can update the spreadsheet/presentation on the website and the changes automatically appear in the overlay. I've just dabbled at it, so I wouldn't be much help with sizing/formatting issues.
