Create simple database form in APEX

I'm trying to create a simple form off of a database table or query.
After going through the wizard, the form does not bring back any data.
I see it created a process Before Header: Fetch Row from table_name, but that doesnt' seem to be happening.
Is there something that has to be set to activate the form to actually query?

Hi,
In the form page's "Fetch Row..." and "Process Row..." processes, you can specify two key fields (one "primary" and one "secondary"). As long as the fields you are referencing are a unique combination, this should work ok. Though, ideally, you should create a primary key on all tables.
In both processes, make sure you complete the "...Secondary Key...." settings with the appropriate page item names and table column names. Your form page should also have two "hidden and protected" page items - one for each of the keys - the link from your report should populate both of these.

Creating simple jquery TABS in apex

Creating a database form query??? HELP?

Hi, i want to create a rate calculator on a webpage. I dont know much about databases and all that, please help. I basically have an excel sheet with a list of countries calling from (with corresponding amounts with it) and list of countries calling to (with corresponding amounts with it). And basically the two numbers (calling from and calling to) have to be added to get the rate per min. An example of a rate calculator that i want to create is: http://www.globenettroaming.com/Rates.php but like i said, i only need a calling from country drop down list and a calling to country drop down list and a calculate button.
I really REALLY would appriciate any help. All i know is that i have to asp - and thats it. Please explain how i would create this database and create a form query on a web page.

mmmm, not much - i've just been reading up on the topic so im just begining to learn it all. Well, i could use access BUT i dont know where to start and how to put in all the data etc... The hosting company i use uses mysql (????) - i havent even an idea of where to start. Scripting language (????) - i guess ASP....Are you able to help?

Creating simple HTML forms

I am currently engaged in applying a new design to a customers SAP driven website.
I have successfully used the theme designer and edited master pages to apply the deisgn and have created some static pages with static information.
The problem I now face is that I need to create some additional pages like a contact forms, brochure request etc... Is there a facility for creating this type of interactive page (where the contents of a simple form is emailed to the site owners) or do I need to create it myself form scratch and provide a link?
Should I create a plugin and if so, how do I then link this to a static page. If I just want to create a dynamic page (I.E. wihout assigning it to a slot) how is this achieved ?
I hope this all makes sense. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I think perhaps I am asking the wrong question.
If you are able to take a quick look at [http://www.atpgifts.co.uk/]. The homepage is great. It has the categories down the left, the search bit etc... what I need is for the contact us link to go to a separate page (currently it is a static page) that looks exactly like the homepage and has the same dynamic content on the left hand side but has the web form control in the content. Is this possible. Which page should I copy and edit? Can I add the webform control to the static page or must I create a new dynamic aspx page ?
If I am not making sense, please let me know. I don't usualy develop in this way. Normally we develop application from scratch so this type of thing would be trivial !!

I understand that the add row button is currently doing a submit.
To not submit the page you need a dynamic action on the page.
Does the javascript function addRow do what you want?
Otherwise have a look at the following two threads Add row in manual tabular form using dynamic action and Accessing Tabular Form & Add Elements to Collection without Page Submit.
You're process could be something like:
Add the new values to the collection using the idea's in the second thread and at the same time add the new row.
And as second action refresh your tabular form.
If you get stuck set up what you have done on apex.oracle.com using the tables from the demo application.

How can I create a file (eg. file1.txt) and save a data into it? After that I have to write another program which can retrieve back the data I saved in the file1.txt.
The method I tried to create a file is as below:

A simple way to use a text-file as "data base" is to use
a JDBC-driver for that text-file. If you do, you can use
the normal SQL statements to query and update the file.

How do I add a functional "submit button" to a pdf form in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI ? I created the pdf form in Adobe Forms Central. It's for an online Diet Questionnaire. After people complete the form I'd like them to click "SUBMIT" and the completed form will be emailed to me.

This can be a bit confusing because Acrobat 11 comes with the desktop app that allows you to create simple PDF forms without having a FormsCentral account. Some people find this helpful, but you need to understand that when you generate the PDF form, it is Reader-enabled by Acrobat. In order to edit the form further in Acrobat, you have to create a non-enabled copy of the form. You do this in Acrobat by opening the form and selecting: File > Save a Copy
and opening the copy. It is not opened automatically.
You can now add a button and set it up to submit by email, either using a "Submit a form" action or the submitForm JavaScript method. You can set it up to include just the form data or the entire PDF, and will want to use a mailto type URL. Submitting the form to the FormsCentral server has a number of important advantages over email (much more reliable, more secure, etc.), so you might want to consider it.
If the form needs to be saved with Reader versions prior to 11, then you will need to Reader-enable the document. In Acrobat 11 you do this by selecting: File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools

Creating a simple image application in Apex
Create a new application from scratch. Name it ORDImages_images.
Add a Report and Form Page based on your ORDImage_images table. Ensure that you select a Classic Report (i.e. not Interactive, which is the default). As expected, two pages are created.
Continue to create the application and then run it.
After the login page, there will be spurious entries for image and thumbnail.
This is expected because of the ORDImage columns in the images table.
Edit Page 1 and open the Images Region

You can now search on substrings of filenames. Note that the image_ID is not shown. To rectify this, Edit Page 1 and open Report in Regions.
Edit the image_id and under Column Link, change the Link Text to #IMAGE_ID#. Also change the Heading in the Column Attributes to Image ID.
Apply the changes and re-run.
Clicking on the image_id link takes you to Page 2 – the form for that image.
Page 2 is sparse so reveal the image_id by Editing Page 2 and opening the P2_IMAGE_ID Page Item. Change Display as Hidden to Text Field. Apply changes and re-run.
In Page Items, open and delete the P2_THUMBNAIL item.
Open the P2_IMAGE item.
Under Name, change the Display As entry to Display Image (from the select list).
Under Settings, change the Based On entry to BLOB Column returned by SQL Statement

Create Simple Printable SQL Reports in APEX 3.2 Without a Print Server

I thought I'd post an answer on how to get a printable SQL report in Oracle Apex without having to configure a print server. I'm sure that similar things have been posted in various other places, but I found the documentation for using custom row templates (to create a printable report) to be incomplete at best. For my needs, I was not looking for an awe inspiring report printout, but rather simple directory information printouts. For example, if you wanted a printable report to look like this:

etc.....In MS Access, doing this is very easy. From what I understand, this is also very easy to do this using PDF software with a print server. However, if you are like me, you don't want to waste time and money by obtaining and configuring a print server (even if it is free). However, never fear because you can create simple reports like this with relatively minimalistic effort; and you can do so without having to configure a print server.
1.) Create a new page
2.) Create a new sql query report region on the page
3.) Make your query just as you would normally.
For this example the query would be:
select first_name, employee_id, last_name, company_credit_card_number, middle_initial, social_security_number from employee_table4.) Go to "Shared Components"
5.) Under "User Interface" click on "Templates"
6.) Click on the "Create" button
7.) Select "Report"
8.) Select "From Scratch"
9.) For the "Template Class," choose one of the "custom" classes. For the "Template Type," choose "Named Column"
10.) Click the "Create" button
11.) Now that you created a custom row template, go back to "Shared Components" and then to "Templates"
12.) Find your custom template and click on it
CUSTOM TEMPLATE HOW TO
1.) In the "Row Template 1" textbox, you are going to create some custom css that will display the data on the page. The css to make the report look like the report above would be:

As you probably figured out, the numbers between the two pound signs ("#") are substitution strings for the variables in your select query in the SQL report. As you have also probably noticed, the "page-break-after: always" line will always make it so that only one report is shown on a page. To fix this, we will need to use logic and row template 2.
2.) For the "Row Template 1 Condition," select "Use Based on PL/SQL Expression" from the select list.
3.) In the textbox for the row template 1 expression enter in the following: {code}substr('#rownum#',-1) = 0 or substr('#rownum#',-1) = 5{code}
***** This condition will make sure that this template is applied when the last digit in the row number is either a "0" or a "5." So, only 5 reports will be displayed per page.
4.) Now go down to "Row Template 2" and enter in the following in the textbox:

5.) For the "Row Template 2 Condition," select "Use Based on PL/SQL Expression" from the select list.
6.) In the textbox for the row template 2 expression enter in the following: substr('#rownum#',-1) != 0 or substr('#rownum#',-1) != 5***** This condition will make sure that this template is applied when the last digit in the row number IS NOT a "0" or a "5."
7.) Scroll down to column headings and enter this in the textbox for the "Column Heading Template": OMIT
8.) Click the "Apply Changes" button
9.) Now go back to your application and the page you want to apply the custom report to
10.) On the report, click on the report tab
11.) Scroll down to "Layout and Pagination"
12.) Click on the "Report Template" select list
13.) Select your custom template
14.) Click the "Apply Changes" button and run the page
Try printing the report, if it does not print correctly, try it in Opera, Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Google Chrome. Please note that it is my understanding that only Firefox does not understand the css "page-break-after: always"
If needed, add some css to the page to hide tabs and other items when you print.

In my code, I was setting an application variable to contain the email address I was retrieving from AD. Once commented out, it worked fine.

Error in Forms when creating simple form in c sharp

I've created a very simple Csharp form with two textboxes and one press button. It is linked to a fortran DLL (Salford Compiler)
When I compile and run the program the first time it all works well. But when I save the file and quit VS 2013
and then restart and reload the program I get this funny error when I try to view the form again.
Warning 1 The parameter is incorrect. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070057 (E_INVALIDARG)) 0 0
I've tried deleting the Temporary asp.net files as suggested in one forum but to no avail. Any help much appreciated

Depending on if your are running X64 you might need to clean up a couple more spots. Just cleaning up my user directory was not enough.

This list will grow as if you have other versions of the framework installed.
So , you could clear these ASP.NET files in more spots.
