Creating a "4 word phrase" out of selected answers (4 grids of 14 words.. 1 word out each grid) ----[ Urgent ;) ]

Okay this is rather simple and "should" be straight forward.
i have a grid of 14 words (buttons or clickbox)
     1. the user has to choose one of these words.
     2. on clicking on it the smae word is shown in a dedicated area on the screen.
     3. the user then clicks the "next" button on goes to the next page
     4. here he will find another grid of 14 words
         (at the same time the word chosen in previous grid is still show in dedicated area...)
     5. the user selects a second word from the new grid... and this will then show up in the dedicated area next to the previous word
     6. the user then clicks the "next" button on goes to the next page
---- and so on .. in the end the user chooses 3 or 4 times a word that each stay visible throughout the selecting out of the 4 grids.
creating a "phrase" out of the 4 selected words.
I can of cause create for each option a a page:
(example:
          grid1_word1, grid2_word1, grid3_word1, grid4_word1
          grid1_word2, grid2_word1, grid3_word1, grid4_word1
          grid1_word3, grid2_word1, grid3_word1, grid4_word1
but this wil result in 14x14x14x14 = 38.416 pages... and well.. that's a bit much...

I don't understand the work flow where you end up with 38416 slides? And which version do you use? Hope you can use shared actions (best in CP8)?
Quick analysis, because I'm very busy on an urgent project.
For the grids: do not use buttons, no click boxes but shape buttons in which you can put text (or a user variable, see further).
The four words have to end up to be each in a user variable, will label them v_word1, v_word2, v_word3, v_word4. The 'dedicated area' can be a text container, set to display for the rest of the project, in which you insert those user variables in sequence.
As for the grids, I would reuse a set of 14 variables on each slide: v_1, v_2.......v_14
Put those variables in the shape buttons.
Hoping you are on CP8. Then create shared actions:
To be used On Enter for the slide, where the vars v_1....v_14 are getting their value for that slide. Those values will be parameters, so that they can be changed for each slide. Beware: you cannot have twice the same word in that case on one slide.
To be used for each shape button, will be pretty easy shared action like Assign v_word1 with v_10 (for the shape button on the 10th place and the first slide). Both variables have to be parameters.
The first shared action will be used 4 times. The second shared action will be used 4*14=56 times.

How do I add a two word phrase to index

I’m trying to speed up the process of adding Latin names of plants and animals to an index using Indesign CS4. These consist of two word phrases (genus + species) which need to be put into the topic level 1 and topic level 2 boxes of the New Page Reference (Index) dialog. Using Ctrl 7 to invoke the dialog just puts whatever is selected into Topic1 and using Shift+Ctrl+Alt+] adds a ‘proper name’ index entry (Surname, forename) which is no good. When the information has been entered, a simple nested index can be produced, sorted by genus and then species.
I’m used to programming using vb in MS Office but am totally new to javascript and this has taken two days to get this far. The first problem is that if the user only puts an insertion point into the first word (genus) I can’t figure out how to move to the second word (species) in order to save it to a variable.
So I have:

I’ve got round this in a very long-winded way by asking the user to select the whole genus+species string, then working out the position of the dividing space and reconstructing the genus and species character by character:

Can this be done using script, or do I need a custom dialog? Alternatively it would also be good to just automatically save Topic1 and Topic2 and insert the index marker at the selection point without invoking any dialogs. It can be confusing initially, but JavaScript and InDesign's object model will soon make sense. What you want to do can be done with this script:

Select genus and species, then run the script.
It's not possible (I don't think) to open the New page Reference dialog. Do you want to apply the number style override to all page references? If that's the case, don't. Apply the character style to the page numbers after the index has been generated, or better, set it in the index paragraph style.
If you want to apply the number style override only to some pages, you can do as follows. Before selecting genus+species, prefix the genus name with e.g. #. That symbol tells the script to add an override. The script will strip the #, create the page reference, and add the override. You need to tell the script somehow which character style to use for the override.

I need to display a report on APEX with option for people to download at least CSV format.
I already have 1 inteactive report in the page, so don’t think can add another interactive report without using the iframe trick.

The requirements are:

I try to do as required but still struggle to identify end_month for the above formula to display for the range of months.
Of course, I can write two nested cursor. The first one run the list of month, then for each month, run the parameterised report.
But I prefer if possible just use SQL statements, or at least a PL/SQL but return a query.
With this way, I can create an APEX report, and use their CSV Extract function.
Yes, you are right, court_name is one of the selection parameters.
And the statistics is not exactly for one month. It is kind of trying to identify all phases that are running through the specified month (even phase.date_started is before the month start).
This is the reason why I put the condition AND ph.date_started <= last_day(TO_DATE('Oct 2012','MON YYYY')) (otherwise I get negative avg_days)
User can choose either one court "AA" or "BB" or combined which is all figures.

I sent numerous trouble reports to them that they ignored - then I think I sent one to Firefox and it is much better but still not completely right. Today DAA retains 106 out of 122 and if I repeatedly RE-OPT-OUT successively I can get it to 121 out of 122 - never completely. (currently the one not taking is Accuen Inc. but it changes periodically - makes me think they set one up to take my info and then share it with all of them - lol )
Same for NAI currently I started with 94 out of 96 - next re-OPTED-OUT got it to 95 out of 96 and no further and same co. Accuen Inc (accuenmedia.com ) wouldn't update.
NOTE: I was copy/pasting the list of NON-OPT-OUT'S to them and my own document file to try and find trends/problems...now NAI programmers protected the list from being able to be COPIED AND PASTED!!! That's the opposite of being open and interested in making this work, right? Why would they want to allow us to OPT-OUT of their criminal espionage behavior...RIGHT? (lol) FYI: I recorded that the big one that was always retained before this one was...MEDIA MATH INC.
MANY Opt-outs would drop off while on-line and ALL would drop-off once logged-off. Now it's retaining most once logged off - but it hasn't been long enough to tell if they'll fall back into their bad habits as they've done before...
This has been going on forever for me - I've been reporting this malfunction since 2013.
Of course I downloaded PROTECT MY CHOICES FOR FIREFOX via NAI AND DAA'S links ...http://www.aboutads.info/PMC#protect-your-choices-for-firefox ............they both go to the same place???.....PROTECT MY CHOICES http://www.aboutads.info/plugin/install/firefox....that seems odd...it's as if they are the same entity then. ABOUTADS is DAA'S WEBSITE. NAI'S IS NETWORKADVERTISING.ORG so why would NAI use DAA'S PROTECT MY CHOICES app?
Lastely, I also requested that the COOKIES NAMES BE UNIFORMLY IDENTIFIABLE. All the OPT-OUT COOKIES that are to be forevermore retained on my computer and that I am to trust the EVERY FUNCTION OF - well they all have different COOKIE NAMES!! Most of the names you can not tell that they are OPT-OUT COOKIES!! - SO NOWWW They have created another problem.
We can no longer just "DELETE ALL COOKIES".
PLUS, we can no longer go through our cookies and delete individual ones that snuck through.
Every one of the OPT-OUT COOKIES SHOULD SAY "OPT-OUT" IWITHIN THEIR NAME OF THEIR COOKIE - PERIOD. RIGHT? (LOL) For real. Why was this mess was allowed?
REALLY IN MY OPINION THESE COMPANIES SHOULD BE BLOCKED AT THE LOCAL PHONE COMPANIES LEVEL - IN OUR SERVERS. We should not have to deal with them. Same thing with viruses, malware and such beasts. But I digress.
In summary:
1.)Google Analytics OPT-OUT Browser Add-on 0.9.6 doesn't retain OPT-OUT settings
2.) JAVA refuses to create updates for WinXP/FireFox/PaleMoon.
3.) DAA & NAI still don't retain ALL OPT-OUT settings and never completely OPT-OUT all companies.
4.) OPT-OUT cookies should be uniformly names with the words OPT-OUT in their titles.
5.) Ad Block Plus 25.6.7 doesn't work for Pale Moon and there is no alternative - (didn't work great in FireFox)
Right now I'm mainly interested in #1)retaining my GOOGLE OPT-OUTS while on line AND while logged off since it is attacking my computer and steeling all the speed until it freezes my keyboard.
Currently I am trying to remember to run through 3. OPT-OUTS every time I log on.

How to select rows in the inner JTable rendered in an outer JTable cell

I have wrriten the following code for creating cell specific renderer - JTable rendered in a cell of a JTable.

return new ColorRenderer1();

ColorRenderer and ColorRenderer1 are two inner classes, which implement TableCellRenderer to draw inner JTable on the outer JTable cell, having 2 rows and 1 column each.
Now what is happening the above code keeps executing continously, that is the classes are being initialised continously, inner JTables are rendered (drawn) continously, and this makes the application slow after some time. It throws java.lang.OutOfMemoryException.
WHY IS IT SO??? I can't understand where's the bug..
Any advice please???
Moreover i want selections in inner tables and not on outer table, how can this be possible.
I am working on this since a long time but have not yet found a way out...

With your help i have overcome the problem of continous repeatition.
The major problem which I am facing is, in selecting rows in the inner rendered JTables.
I have added listener on outer JTable which select rows on the outer JTable, hence the complete inner JTable which being treated as a row, gets selected.
The thing is i need to select the rows of inner rendered JTables,not the outer JTable.
How to go about it??
I have even added listener to inner rendered JTables, but only first row of every table gets selected.
Please help....

Microsoft Word - Times New Roman will not print from my iMac. People send me Word documents, I must select all and choose another font. How can I fix this?

When anyone sends me a Word document via email as an attachment and I attempt to print it out, my printer always spits out a blank page. All Word documents seem to arrive using Times New Roman font. I must then return to the document, select all, reassign a different font, and it then prints okay. How can I fix this? It appears that Times New Roman font is part of my Font Book, and each version of the font (Italic, etc.) appears there in duplicate.

Open the Font Book again, select the Times New Roman font set.
You'll see the duplicate warning. Select the fonts and go up to the EDIT menu,
and go down to RESOLVE DUPLICATES.
You might check for other duplicates while you're there, and resolve them.
RESTART your Mac to have the changes take effect.
Then try your docs again.
Any better.

my requirment is to query a joint tables and get the results then based on the results i need to copy all the data and create an update statement for each row
for ex
the update statement should look like this

and the select statement like the following

The standard advice when (ab)using EXECUTE IMMEDIATE is to compose the SQL statement in a single VARCHAR2 variable
Then print the SQL before passing it to EXECUTE IMMEDIATE.
COPY the statement & PASTE into sqlplus to validate its correctness.

Use Word to establish a new Word file that has the desired pages for the original Word file.
You now have a "new document" of the desired pages.

But length of this control element is really limited.
If the chosen path is very long, with lot of folder levels, longer than the control element is capable to show it,
the path string is truncated. Truncation in its middle part.
Nobody is able to see how exactly the path is, after it has been shortened.
And now, please imagine that there are several similar paths on the disc.
They differ by theirs middle section only.
Now assume the search needs 3 hours.
1. After 3 hours of search run user can't say which folder of all similar folders he has chosen for last search operation.
After search completes user is no able to check, which path the search ran in.
2. If new search in some other folder but in a folder located close to the previous one is aimed the user
has to follow the whole path from the disc root - job intensive task.
Adobe Reader should use the previous search path as start point of new search path selection.
The full-feature product Adobe Acrobat probably also affected.

Let your table control name in Screen painter be TC1.
READ TABLE TC1-COLS INTO WA_COLS (some wok area)
             WITH KEY SELECTED = 'X'.
        IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
          CLEAR: W_DUMMY, W_COL_NAME.
          SPLIT WA_COLS-SCREEN-NAME AT '-' INTO W_DUMMY
                                               W_COL_NAME.
        endif.
W_COL_NAME gives you the column name.

Your subject said 'selected <b>line</b> in list' and your description says 'selected <b>event</b> in the list'. Which one is it you want to know?
For line you will use the event AT LINE-SELECTION and for event you will use AT USER-COMMAND.

Yes it is possible.
Open your query result in the design mode by going to BEx Analyzer->Design ToolBar
Now take one text element and assign it to the variable which you have used for the selection screen.
Take the same number of text element as there are in selection screen.
Exit the design mode. In place of the text element you will find the value of the variables assigned to them.
