Creating a Flash version of a HTML/CGI Form

Hello: I have a Flash webpage where I visually designed a Form. I have not been able to find how to give My form the generic capabilities of an HTML/CGI Submit-able Form. For clarity, I included (below) my Form code for my HTML Webpage. If someone has a block of ActionScript 3 code that has the mention abilities, could you please post a reply ? ... or, is there a more common method of importing my existing HTML/CGI form into my Flash website ? I haven't adjusted what happens after you his the submit

How do I create a plain text version of my HTML Emailer?

Hi,
I have created an html emailer in Dreamweaver which works fine, but have noticed that there isn't a plain text version to go with it. How do I add the plain text version to the html so that people that can't see the html version will instead see the plain text version. any answers greatly appreciated.

Flash MX was version 6.
Flash MX 2004 was version 7
(boy, so glad this naming convention went away)
In Flash 8 you can do a save as and select Flash MX 2004
(Flash 7). If you need to go down another
version you need to open it in Flash MX 2004 and do a save as
to Flash MX.

Is there any way to open a flash file created in Flash 9.0
CS3 with Flash 8?
I have Flash 9 at work, but only Flash 8 at home, and I need
to work on this project today. I can't download the trial version
of 9 here either, because it doesn't seem to work on Windows 2000.
Any ideas?

Go to work. Open the file in Flash 9. Select "File > Save
As..." from the
file menu and select the Flash 8 file format.
Flash 9 should work on Win2k.

Saving Flash 7 SWF created in Flash 8

I understand from experience that viewing Flash 8 SWF files
on the Flash 7 Player results in text not showing up. The Flash 8
text is obviously superior, but unfortunately, a major contingent
of my viewers are too afraid, too naive, or their systems are too
messed up to upgrade their Flash Players from earlier versions.
Obviously, to solve the problem, I can save the SWF as Flash 7
backward compatible; however, I am more than disappointed with the
results of this solution. The main problems with this approach is
that the text looks week and the bitmap alignment is no longer
perfect when trying to intermingle my flash content with existing
background content.
Please someone help me with a better solution by providing me
with a list of parameters that need to be in place so that my Flash
7 files created in Flash 8 look more presentable.

Could not create the flash button because a component of Dreamweaver is missing. Please reinstall Dreamweaver.

I have Dreamweaver MX 2004 and then upgraded to
Dreamweaver Studio MX 2004 and decided to upgrade to Studio 8. At
the time I got the Studio 8 I also upgraded my computer and now my
purchased flash buttons do not work on my system. I get an error
message Macromedia Dreamweaver Could not create the flash button
because a component of Dreamweaver is missing. Please reinstall
Dreamweaver. We tried uninstall and then reinstall and still no
fix. My husband tried the software on his lap top and they work
fine. I did have Contribute installed but uninstalled it . 1. What
would the missing component be? and 2. Why didn't the reinstall
work? Thanks for the help. I need to update a couple of sites that
use the buttons and can't so far. Carol

you probably have to install the Dreamweaver update so that
you're on
version 8.0.2. just search Adobe.com for Dreamweaver update
and you
should be able to find it pretty quickly.

LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES, version 8.2, and supported client Flash versions

Hello,
We are running Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES, Version 8.2.
We have a couple users that connect through IE (version 7) to create fillable forms.
Our companies standard version of Adobe Flash is 10.x
When we upgraded to 10.x, the users could no longer open (convert) a pdf to be able to make it fillable. The fix was to down grade the Flash version to version 9.
Is there a better fix for this, as I have another user that requires access to the LiveCycle server but is running Flash 10, yet I would prefer not to downgrade them to Flash 9.
Hopefully the above explanation makes sense, as I am technical support versus being a LiveCycle user.

Using clips created in Flash Professional

Hello!
A newbie question:
When working with AS in Flash Builder, Is it possible to use a MovieClip that I have created in Flash Professional?
How?
I wrote a simple game in Flash Professional, 99% of it is pure code (AS3) but one of the building blocks is a movieclip containing a small art and a dynamic text field. I'd like to port this to Flash Builder to be able to use Facebook SDK but I have no idea of how to import (or even create) that movieclip.
Please, any ideas?

A bit oudated, but the idea is ok.
Making things simpler, what you have to do is create the movieclip in Flash Professional, export as a SWC file.
To use it the Flash Builder AS project, go to Project -> Properties -> ActionScript Build Path->Add SWC... browse to your SWC file and click OK.
That's it!
Important: if you make any changes to your mc in Flash Professional you'll have to edit it in FB, same place... I did not see any "update" option in there, so I suppose all you have to do is browse and select the updated file.

In Flash CS4 a generated html with swf file won't play swf

Using Flash CS4 and having the Flash plug-in ver 10 on my PC, the generated html file will not play the swf in the browser.
I noticed that the active-x javascript is now included in the header as well as the javascript portion in the body tag.
But it won't play. I get the typical blank window in IE with the "X" in the upper left corner.
I don't have this problem with Flash CS3.
Any ideas what may be going on?

I am having similar difficulty; mostly I am confused.
I want to open a flash video file in a frame within a webpage.
I have generated a Flash CS4 html and swf file. When loaded they play, but they play on a separate, full size web page, not in the frame where I want it.
I then generated FLV and F4V files but that doesn't work.
It appears that I need to insert the object and embed tags "for Flash Movies" in the html file.
Once I do that, do I go back to only putting in the html and swf files and create a link to the html file to bring up the video in the target frame?
What are the FLV files for?

Safari tells me I have flash version 0, and it's just not true

I have a website (that someone else created for me. I know nothing of web design)It was created in flash v5. Until very recently I have had no problem viewing it on this computer using Safari, or any other browser for that matter.
Now, when I try to open the site, I get a prompt that states:
'You are using flash version 0
This website is optimized to run on Flash version 5 or above
Click here to download flash v 6'
I show that I have flash v9 installed. And, I am able to view my web site on other computers.
Any ideas as to what the problem may be?

I get the same error message using Firefox on Linux. As Klaus says below, the website needs to correct their site to work across different platforms.

After I finished it, everything was working well in flash and firefox. I have only one problem and question concerning the feed back form for sending info from my website to my emailaddres. I created my website “LisbonDreamWalking”in Flash CS5 pro. I herein have a contact page, where people can send an email for a walk in Lisbon, date,the number of people etc. Now I want through my ISP / host funpic.org, that the input, info text fields to be sended to my emailaddress [email protected]. How to create a web version of XFA forms

I have created a few dynamic XFA form using Livecycle designer. They work great and is getting quite popular amoung our users. But the problem with these forms are:
a) A lot of user using Mac are having problem opening it from their Safari browser. Its a common problem and I get tired of troubleshooting a lot users asking the same questions over and over again.
b) A lot of users are now preferring to use it on ipads and tablets and there is simply no way to open these forms in tablets.
I was looking for other solutions and the only method I can think of would be to render a html version of these forms in the browser and then generate the pdf file in the end after the user have completing filling it in. I have been searching on the internet and I still havent figured out how will I go about with this.
Can someone please guide me and show me the way on were do I get started and how can I create a web version of these forms and then export the completed form in pdf?? Is there a tutorial video on this somewhere in adobe tv or youtube? Please go easy with the technical terms since my level of knowledge is still a beginner.
I have licycle designer ES. Any help will be appreciated!

I will have a look at the LiveCycle Forms server product. I wonder how much they cost. I couldnt find the price there. Also I wonder if it works on Livecycle Designer ES (since I havent got ES2 or ES3 yet).
If I was to create a standard HTML form and then process the data into XML, how do I later import it into the pdf? If there any tutorial on the web where I can learn how to do this?

Exception in FLASH.OCX using Windows 8.1, latest Flash Version

I have many problems using the latest Flash Version 13.0.0.182. My applications use an embedded version of IExplorer 11 and use OSMF to display P2P Streams. If buffering starts, an exception is thrown and my app crashes with the message "Exception 000000 in FLASH.OCX". This only happens under Windows 8.1 (64 Bit) with latest Flash Version 13.0.0.182, embedded Version. If i call the URL directly into IE, it works.
- Older Versions works fine
- On other Windows (Windows 7...) is works fine

Start EXE (Src is included), navigate to http://www.osmf.org/dev/1.5gm/embed.html?favorFlashOverHtml5Video=false will crash the application
