Creating a java editor

Hi,
I am trying to make a java editor in java as my final year engineering project. Can anybody give me some help or a link to any tutorial that might help.
The java editor should include a text editor with all the normal operations such as cut,copy, paste, find etc. I also want that the syntax be highlighted. There must be options for compiling and running of programs.
I would be very grateful for the help..........

Well, for the text editor you can use the Notepad program that comes with JDK. It has all these options, cut, paste, etc.
Then, every "keyword" should be identified and highlighted.
In the compile button, you should make it save your file and run the command javac in a console....it´s really simple since u already have the Notepad to adapt.

  • Developing a java editor for a special perspective in Eclipse

    Does anyone have any idea about creating a java editor for my perspective in eclipse.
    In other words, I want to know that an editor for the files with a specific extension (for example ".java" extension) is unique or not?

    Thank you for the advisements. We have changed the things with the release of version 1.32.
    It's not our intention to conceal our commercial interests with AniFun3, but we also want to give back something to the community. We do this with the free trial version. Everybody can use the trial version for commercial and non-commercial use. Below, there are some of the most recent benefits:
    - It strongly simplifies and accelerates the creation of (small) 3D applications
    - The community can use it as a platform to exchange pieces of work (for example: instead of typing in source code to help someone here in this forum)
    - And last, but not least: With the "CustomObject" Property there is a professional platform to let someone create and offer/exchange extensions to the 3D API. For example, if someone writes an interpolator for Material or an improved Text2D object, than it took just a little bit more work to make it configurable via the visual interface. Exchanging CustomObjects would probably bundle similar efforts from different sources in one place.
    Best regards,
    Oliver
    PS: Version 1.32 is optimised in many details and production stable. Users of earlier Versions should upgrade to 1.32.

    look at the demo examples provided with your jdk.

  • Java Editor with the HelloWorldServlet does not open

    I am following the Getting Started guide lines. When choosing Finish in step 6 of "Create a HelloWorld Servlet" (https://help.hana.ondemand.com/help/frameset.htm?e5a8b1d3bb571014a0f89bb4706d4e0b.html) then the Java Editor should open.
    Unfortunately this does not happen at my installation.
    The only displays at the footing of the Overview picture are "Writable", "Smart Insert" und "1 : 1" for some time.
    This is also interfering with a message "'Periodic workspace save.' has encountered a problem.

    Did I skip something in the guide? How please should I continue editing my first HelloWorld servlet?

  • Problem when using Ctr-Z in Java editor

    If I create a component in the Desgin view, the switch to Java Editor and uze Cancel (or Ctrl+Z), it cancle the opration, ie remove the code added when the component was created. The component is also removed in Design view. However, it is stil present in the JSP code. Under deployment, it produces an error. The stacktrace says the error is about a component which is not present in the design view, wich is a bit confusing.

    Looks like a bug.
    To fix just remove the jsp tag for the component

  • Java Editor - auto complete

    i'm looking for a FREE lightweight java editor that supports auto-complete and possibly code generation.
    auto-complete is when you type the object and a dot, the editor pop-up a window listing all methods available for you to use.
    code generation (or whatever it is called) is like a template that i can use....like i type in tryc and a space and it will create a try{ } catch{} block for me
    by lightwieght, i mean th eeditor is small and does not requires a lot of memory to run. don't want a full blown editor like Eclipse, JBuilder, NetBean (they're too resource hungry). something like JCreator and TextPad. My computer is old (PIII 733 mhz, 384MB RAM)..yes, my computer motherboard only allows up to 384 MB of RAM ..this sucks when RAM is soooo cheap.
    i check with most free editor, but to get auto-complete and code generation...you have to pay for it...so i'm wondering if anyone knows of a FREE one?

    Use the Plug-In Manager (Plugins menu item) to review the available plugins. Click the Install tab and highlight the name, it'll display a description.
    There's a couple of auto completes - I use Dot Complete (it has a minor glitch starting, I have to click Complete to get it to start)
    There's a number of template facilities, both built in and as plugins.

  • Class tab in .java editor (jdev 10.1.3)

    Hello,
    i am novice in jdeveloper and i am reading the book "jdeveloper 10.1.3 handbook". In a hands-on pratice for create a validator i create a java file in code editor, and after I have to click at the bottom the "Class" tab, but I cannot find "Class" tab,instead is "History" .
    Why?
    thanks

    Hi,
    I'm not sure this is the "jdeveloper 10.1.3 handbook" you are reading.
    The Class editor was removed in JDeveloper 10g.
    In this release, you can enter your variable in your Java code, and then select "Generate Assessors...' in the contextual menu.
    You can also install the "Simple Java Bean Editor" extension
    See on "Oracle JDeveloper 10g 10.1.3 - Extensions Exchange"
    URL: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/index.html
    If you have any problem with this change, please let me know the exact document/page/step/... and I'll give you detailed instructions on how to perform the equivalent in JDeveloper 10.1.3
    Regards,
    Didier.

  • Missing " Create Sample Java Client" from the context menu when debugging

    Jdev 11.1.1.3 on Windows 7 x64
    I have created an EJB - Session Bean from the ADF components and have put some logic into it with one public method.
    I have exposed the method in the local interface.
    I start the integrated server in the debug mode
    When I right-click there is no option to do the sample client.
    Am I missing a plug-in - like JUnit or something?
    From the manual:
    The integrated Oracle WebLogic Server runs within JDeveloper. You can run and test EJBs quickly and easily using this server, and then deploy your EJBs with no changes to them. You do not need to create a deployment profile to use this server, nor do you have to initialize it.
    To run a sample client on the integrated Oracle WebLogic Server: In the Application Navigator, right-click on an EJB and choose Run.
    Notice in the Message pane that Oracle WebLogic Server has been launched. Right-click on an EJB and choose Create Sample Java Client from the context menu. The default choice is to create a client for the integrated Oracle WebLogic Server, so click OK.
    The client is created and opens in the code editor. If your session bean serves as a facade over JPA entities, code is generated to instantiate the query methods. If you exposed methods on your bean, the generated client contains methods that can be uncommented to call them.
    After your EJB has been successfully started from the Application Navigator, right-click on the sample client and choose Run.

    Shay,
    Pretty much what I did exactly - except - since my apps are all using the local interface - I did not create the remote.
    This may be an old habit - but generally it is not a good practice to do both - though this may have changed lately.
    I have this app working and the EJBs are executing fine.
    I used a testview and drug the method onto it - and was able to debug it that way - but still no create java client in the menu.
    Is there any other place to find this other than the context menu? Then I can check to see if it is available.
    I am using WLS 10.3 that ships with Jdev 11.1.1.3 (forgot that little bit) without any changes.

  • How to create a text editor, the one like header text in PO

    Dear Ones,
    My requirement is that I want to create a text editor for storing terms and condition plant wise.
    The editor should be the one like header text in PO. It can take end number of lines.
    I created the text object ('TERMS') in table ttxob and text for it in table ttxot.
    Also created text id ('L000' and 'L001') in table ttxid and text for it in table ttxit.
    Now using FM read_text, save_text and edit_text, I have written a program but it does not save the data.
    When I run the program initially it displays me blank, then I enter some data into it. Again when I come back it displays the data and also saves the edition. But if I close my session the data is gone.
    It means it is not actually saving the data in database. My code is as below:

  • In OBIEE 11G, how to get the special parameter created by JAVA?

    Hi Experts,
    In OBIEE 11G, how to get the special parameter created by JAVA?
    For example:
    In JAVA , it has set one parameter named 'test'.
    So how to get the parameter in filter area in OBIEE?

    Hi Kobe,
    No P2 holds the parameter name like PresentationTable.ColumnName, in your form you may go for complete name or just column name and before submitting the form you can define the Action url.
    I would suggest to read section 6.3.2.1.
    ex:
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    changeAction(url) {
    var TestVar = form.inputbox.value;
    document.this_form.action="saw.dll?Go&Path=/Shared/Test/SB2&Action=Navigate&P0=1&P1=like&P2=Customers.Region&P3="+TestVar;
    </SCRIPT>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <FORM NAME="myform" ACTION="" METHOD="GET">Enter something in the box: <BR>
    <INPUT TYPE="text" NAME="inputbox" VALUE=""><P>
    <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="button" Value="Click" onClick="changeAction(this.value)">
    </FORM>
    If helps pls mark.

  • PDF created using Java iText package - Text not editable and not displaying font properties on Acrobat

    Hi,
    I have an issue in editing the text and viewing the font properties of a text region on a PDF created using Java iText package.
    I use Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and the option Tools -> Advanced Editing -> TouchUp Text Tool.
    The strange behaviour is that, I have 2 PDFs created out of the same base PDF and text added via Java iText package with the same Text, Font and other properties.
    One of the PDF has the text region editable on Acrobat but the other one has the text region which is not editable.
    But both the PDFs are editable via Adobe Illustrator.
    I have attached both the PDFs for your reference
    PDF_Editable.pdf - Editable on Acrobat
    PDF_Not Editable.pdf - Not Editable on Acrobat
    Any help or insight to find out the difference/issue with the PDF which is not editable via Acrobat would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Madhusoodhan Henryraman

    You don't have direct control of the leading of a multiline text field. A common approach is to control the background color of the field with JavaScript since the lines are not really needed when the field is used in Reader/Acrobat. They may be useful when using the form by hand. For more information, see the posts by Max in this topic: http://acrobatusers.com/forum/forms-acrobat/how-do-i-use-multi-lined-text-fields-over-prin ted-line-area-existing-form

    Does anyone have a quick ref guide to creating a java stored proc in jdev? I am missing early steps to correctly setup the project.

    Assuming you are using ADF BC, you can try something like the following on your Application Module:

    public void sendEmail(String fromEmailAddress, String toEmailAddress,
    String subject, String body1, String body2,
    String body3, String body4, String body5) {

    { fromEmailAddress, toEmailAddress, subject, body1, body2, body3,
    body4, body5 };
    callStoredProcedure("MSKCC.proc_send_mail(?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)", parms);
    protected void callStoredProcedure(String stmt, Object[] bindVars) {
    PreparedStatement st = null;
    try {
    // 1. Create a JDBC PreparedStatement for

    getDBTransaction().createPreparedStatement("begin " + stmt + ";end;", 0);
    if (bindVars != null) {
    // 2. Loop over values for the bind variables passed in, if any
    for (int z = 0; z < bindVars.length; z++) {
    // 3. Set the value of each bind variable in the statement
    st.setObject(z + 1, bindVars[z]);
    // 4. Execute the statement
