Creating a Web Form

Alright, so there's TONS of software out there that claims to
create web forms for you and include all these different functions
but I'm trying to create one with the sole purpose of importing the
data into an excel sheet that I will keep on my computer. The form
is basically to gain information about potential customers and I'd
like to have the information in excel so I can access it at any
time and sort it any way I please.
Now, many have said MySQL, which I have setup a database on
my server but I'm not sure how exactly to create the table/s within
the database and on top of that, I'm not sure how to get the data
from the form into the correct parts of the table once it's been
created. Does that make sense to anyone?
I've got the form basically done, I just need a little help
on the coding side of things...

Hello,
An easy alternative would be to have the form submit to an
Access database
on your machine.
No need to be connected to the internet, you would just have
to set up IIS
on your PC.
That's not too difficult.
Then you would just use an ASP page and DW's "insert record"
behavior to
insert the form data into Access on submit.
Are you familiar with using Access?
You can easily connect an excel file to it or, easier,. just
export the data
to Excel anytime.
Of course, you could always just view it in Access.
If you have Access and Windows XP I would be happy to help.

Simplest way to create a web form

what's the simplest way to create a web form?
i dont want to use action of mailto:.
the components like aspmail are complicated.
i teach a class of teenagers to create a simple html page
(notepad) and i need a simple form proccessor

The simplest would be to use a form processor that can handle
unlimited fields without additional coding. All you need to worry
about is correctly naming the send to address and subject form
fields. The processor loops through the form object and takes care
of all of the form fields. I don't know of a free script off hand,
but check out hotscripts. Most can use cdonts or cdosys.

Is there a way to create a web form for a user to take himself off paid membership subscription?

I know there is a way to add a user to a paid membership subcription using the web form. There is a video on BCGuru that shows how to do it. Is there also a way to use web form for the user to terminate his paid membership? Or does it always have to be done manually by the Admin?

How do I create web forms with updateable mock up graphics?

I am interested in creating both web forms and pdfs that are able to update a mock up image, similar to those found on sites like zazzle and society6. The user enters text, picks a color, uploads an image, etc. and the mock up image is updated for them to review and ultimately submit for purchase. Can this be achieved without coding (in Muse perhaps), or with a minimum of coding knowledge? I assume it would be a process using several pieces of adobe software, I just don't know which ones or where to start looking for tutorials specific to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would start with Muse. If you have more experience with coding, using Dreamweaver. InDesign is not appropriate for what you're trying to do.

Issue with New Web Form Created for Web Page Composer

I created new Web Form as per the example given on sdn: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/2041eb17-6001-2b10-b08d-b95ce55fa9b7
Everything looks fine with all the setup but when I restarted the Portal, I am not seeing this new webform where we see Article, List, Banner and other webform to create new document in Web Page Composer section.
Any idea what could be the reason behind this would be really helpful?

Can you please confirm if you have followed all the steps in here.
The following configuration steps are necessary:
1.Create a KM Resource Type
2.Create a Web Resource Type and assign the KM Resource Type to it
3.Extending the Configuration of Existing Web Resource Types and Containers
4.Referencing the XSL File in the Stylesheet Object
5.Creating a Stylesheet Group
6.Referencing the XML File in the Document Type
7.Restart the portal
Make sure that you store the files in the following KM folders:
The XML file in the /etc/wpceditor/types directory, the XSL files in the /etc/wpceditor/styles directory.

Is Minimal OPTIN no longer working in Web Forms ?

I cant seem to get the code to auto optin
I created a web form, which includes the newsletter checkbox for a newsletter email list. I hide that, and make sure it is checked, as we *** add &OPTIN=TRUE
Now the inline editor changes it to &OPTIN=TRUE and maybe that is my problem - no idea.

The problem is that, the subsrcibee does not get the optin email, which is good, but he is not subscribed either.

so I added &OPTIN=TRUE to catwebformform45938
so I had this catwebformform45938&OPTIN=TRUE
Which actually did subscribe them to the newsletter
However, they still got -
a) The landing page after subscription now shows
Campaign Newsletter Subscriptions
[Newsletter] - requires you to verify your subscription.
b) The email received now has the link in it.
I tried also adding it back to where I had it before, but then it went back to not being subscribed.
How can I get the landing page and email to understand they are subscribed and dont need reminder or the link.

Help Needed in resolving problems with Hyperion Planning Web Forms

But whereas 8 dimensions are there in Essbase.Hsp_Rates dimension is available in essbase outline but Iam unable to see that dimension in the webform selection.And using the webform Iam unable to load any data ...the form is graded/protected.Is this happening because i dont have the requirement of 1 member from each Dimension?Please someone let me know why this is happening what might be the reason.ThanksUser

Hi,The dimension Hsp_Rates is a hide dimension used by Planning to store the exchange rates for the differentes exchanges.All the standard information is stored on HSP_InputValue member (in this dimension).When you create a web form, Planning automatically asign this member (but don't show it).Probably you can't load data because you are selected on Version dimension a Standard Botton Up version, and you only can load data on level 0 members in this type of version.If you want to load data on upper level members, then you need to create a Standard Target version (in the Version dimension) and select it in the form.Please, advice if this solve your problemClaudioBPD Solutions

Inserting a Form Created in CoffeeCup Form Designer into iWeb...

I created a web form in CoffeeCup's Flash Form creator (on my PC). The end result is 7 files and a section of code. I presume that I can insert the code as a snippet (I have version '08) but I'm unsure as to where to put the 7 associated files. In addition, this site is hosted on Go Daddy, not .Mac. Any tips on where/how in the folder architecture on my Mac to place the 7 files generated by CoffeeCup and does anyone know if there's anything funky I need to do to post this all to Go Daddy... Thanks in advance for any advice...

Yes, you can enter the Html code as a snippet, however, as far as I know you have wasted your time creating 7 pages with coffee cup as you will not be able to merge them into iWeb. Others have asked this same question and I don't think it is possible to merge web sites or pages created with other web site packages such as Dreamweaver into iWeb. You can't import in that way.
You will either need to use iWeb or coffee cup, but not both.
Use an ftp client to upload to GoDaddy. There are many - Fetch, Cyberduck or Transmit. You can do this in iWeb too.

Business Catalyst thinks I deleted my web form

I thought I may have found a way around Muse's weak forms implementation, by creating a web form on Business Catalyst > Site Manager > Web Forms.
I created a web form, set the email response, copied the html, inserted the HTML on a Muse page, published the site, filled out the form, and got this:
So I went back to the same page on Business Catalyst, deleted the web form I just made minutes ago, created it AGAIN from scratch, inserted the HTML in my Muse page, published it, filled out the form, and got the SAME ERROR message a second time.
I did not delete the form, but Business Catalyst thinks I did. :-(
How do I get around this "error of an ERROR?"
I noticed that there are THREE forms on BC with similar names (I only made ONE). To be sure that I'm working in the correct form, I COPIED it -- it now has the same name as before, plus the word "Copy." But when I open the copied form, all the fields are in the wrong order. I tried this several times, and this weirdness is consistent. Right now I'm really stumped on getting a decent (customized) form in Muse.

I still don't understand what "submit a case" means, but I was able to get it to work, possibly not as you expected (?)
I had already published this site in its partially-developed state, when trying to get the form to also be published. So it was in the web page already, as the completed form.
All I did after reading your message was to go directly to businesscatalyst.com, create a new simple (unfinished) form, and then via Site Manager > Web Forms > More Actions > Add Web Form to a Web Page, choosing the contact page from my site in development.
When I opened the previously-uploaded site in my browser, the ENTIRE form was there as originally published, exactly as it was originally and formatted placed in Muse.
It works, but I confess it's about as UN-intuitive as it can be! :+)

BPM 11.1.1.7 Oracle Web Forms Error

I have successfully installed Oracle BPM 11.1.1.7 on 32 bit Window machine.
Under BPM Composer, when I tried to create new Web Forms(follows BPM Composer User Guide- Chapter 3), I am getting this error message:
Error getting form: LeaveRequestForm
Caused by: Could not instantiate form: got wrong status=500
Is anyone have any clue- How to rectify this error message ?

The error you are getting is because you are using "localhost". Change it to the fully qualified machine name. When invoking Composer, most of us are in the habit of not fully qualifying the machine's name in the URL. For example, the URL http://localhost:7001/bpm/composer will be used to invoke Composer from a browser on the same machine that WebLogic is running or http://MachineName:7001/bpm/composer to invoke it when WebLogic is running on a machine named "MachineName".
If you plan to use the Web Forms Designer feature in Composer, you now instead must fully qualify the URL with the full machine's name when you invoke Composer (e.g. http://MachineName.SomeDomainName.com:7001/bpm/composer or if you are using an Amazon EC2 instance http://ec2-50-19-167-0.compute-1.amazonaws.com:7001/bpm/composer).
More than you wanted to know, but another change I believe that you will likely have to make is to change the WebLogic settings for the domain. When creating the WebLogic domain for Oracle BPM, the "Listen Address" and "Frontend Host" fields are left blank by default. While this does not cause an issue when you're in development normally, when using Composer's Web Forms Designer tool these fields need to be set to the fully qualified name of the machine.
1. Backup the current config.xml file in the <WebLogic domain home directory>\config directory before doing the next step.
2. In the WebLogic Administration Console expand Environment -> click Servers -> click the server's name -> with both the Configuration and General tabs selected, enter the fully qualified name of the machine where WebLogic is running (e.g. machineName.someDomain.com) in the Listen Address field -> click Save.
3. Next, enter this same text into the Frontend Host field by clicking the Protocols tab -> click the HTTP tab -> enter the fully qualified name of the machine in the Frontend Host field -> click Save. Finally, be sure to stop and restart the WebLogic domain after making these two changes.
After you have changed these two fields, you will no longer be able to use localhost in the URLs to invoke Composer, the Workspace, Enterprise Manager or the Administration Console and will instead need to use the fully qualified machine name in these URLs as well.
Just another heads-up - you will also likely run another issue when you attempt to run Composer's Player. The role names in the processes cannot have any space characters or special characters. You will know that you've run into this issue when you see the error message:
exception.70207.description: Action INITIATE on process Player/EmployeeOnboarding!1.0*soa_5eba8a37-486e-4451-a714-78912aad9fa9/Process1 cannot be performed by <some user name>Although you are allowed to enter space and special characters (including the "_" character) into the names of the roles in Composer and in Oracle BPM Studio, the role names in the process cannot have any space characters or special characters if you plan on running the process in Composer's Process Player.

Web Form Label

I have followed all the directions for "How to Create New Web Forms" everything worked perfectly up until Section 5: Changing and Translating Labels for Web Content.
I imported the Example Project with note 817876 - but am getting the following errors:
The import com.sapportals.wcm cannot be resolved
CrtClassLoaderRegistry cannot be resolved
How do I add this to my project? The steps in this document and in the SAP Library don't cover getting errors so I am turning to you for help!

You need to add bc.crt_api.jar to your java build path in order to resolve this error. This JAR contains the implementation of CrtClassLoaderRegistry class.

WPC - Custom Web Form - Cannot render container

Problem Transporting Web Forms

Hi Experts,
I have been trying to export the custom web forms from POC server to Dev server. But then i'm not able to find the web form in the target server..
For exporting i followed this method..
Content Administration  KM Content  Export  Pending Exports in the portal... n then i include the xml, xsl and even the whole of wpcconfig folder in the package .
And on importing i fnd the xml and xsl file in the styles and types folder of 'etc'.. but then i do not find the web form .
Can somebody please help me in this matter.

I exported all the config changes that i had made while creating the web forms . But when i import the config changes on the tranget system .. it says.. there are errors..
