Creating an ear application

Hi,
I created an ear application using Application Assembly tool (AAT) and installed the application into the Enterprise Applications on WebSphere Application Server 4.0. The installed was successful and i can view my jsp page, but i can't view the image in that page. The image is in a different folder under web-inf. I am sure am giving the correct path in the jsp page. I think i need to change the configuration in one of the server files. Can anyone please help me.
Thanks

I am sure I can't help you with the Websphere stuff but I am just curious if the path to the image is indeed wrong. Rightclick on the area where the image is supposed to be displayed and see if you indeed got the right path and verify that the image is exactly in the same location.

  • How to create a .ear file from my application ?

    Hi,
I am using JDeveloper 10g.I made an application called Myapp .Kindly guide me how I will make a .ear file of the application for deployment purpose.

    User,
Right-click your project, choose "New" then deployment profile. You should see "EAR" as a choice. Then, just follow the wizards. When you want to create the EAR, just right-click your newly-created deployment profile and select the EAR option.

While developing an Adapter module in PI 7.1 version, facing a problem while creating an EAR file.
    Using NWDS 7.1 version
    1) Have developed the code compatible to 7.1 version changes which is not throwing any error while compilation
    2) Have given the jndi info in ejb-j2ee-engine.xml

This is what I was looking for: http://maveninjdeveloper.blogspot.com/2012/04/handle-adf-application-maven-ant.html
    It further references:
    - http://javaosdev.blogspot.in/2011/12/ojdeploy-documentation-for-tool.html
The only issue now is that Oracle JDeveloper release 11.1.2.2.0 (version being used) does NOT seem to support Ant while release 11.1.2.1.0 does. This necessitates a further kluge to make things work. The amount of difference between versions of JDeveloper is quite amazing.

  • How to merge portlet.xml file from shared libraries into an EAR application

    Hi all
    I need some help
I have some applications as shared-libs referenced by weblogic.xml into a EAR application.
To see all portlets from that shared-libs, I'm creating a portlet.xml into the EAR application with all portlets from all shared libs. But is terrible for me. I would like to have it merged automatically without having to create it in the EAR application. Is that possible?
    Regards
    Bruno

In the documentation, I saw this text:
Overriding Shared J2EE Library Settings in the web.xml File
At runtime, the web.xml files in all the shared J2EE libraries are merged, along with the web.xml
file in your portal web project. The content of your WEB-INF/web.xml file overrides anything in
the shared J2EE libraries, so if you want to change particular settings, you can do it there.
There are many other files for which file contents are merged; these can be overridden in the same
way. These files include not only WEB-INF/web.xml but also WEB-INF/weblogic.xml and any
files mentioned in weblogic-extension.xml from either the users' application or the shared
    libraries.
It seems to be possible to customize the weblogic-extension.xml. But I haven't seen how to do that
What do you think about it?

  • Create an EAR in JDeveloper to deploy on Oracle AS 10g

I have a J2EE project with EJBs and JSPs. I am using JDEVELOPER as my IDE. I need to deploy my application on ORACLE 10G APP SERVER.
I need to create an EAR file consisting of my EJBs and JSPs to deploy the appln.
When i go into Deployment Profiles in JDeveloper and try to create an EAR file, it does create the EAR file but the contents of the file are only 2-3 xml files, there is nothing else in it.
I am wondering how on earth do i need to create my EAR package so that i can deploy on Oracle APP Server.
This is actually very urgent... so i would really really appreciate and thank you if someone could help me out....
Thank you very much in advance

  • Trying to create reference for application in target server failed;

I have an ear file that I am trying to deploy using the "Deploy Enterprise Applications/Modules" page on the console.
The console gives me a message saying
"Trying to create reference for application in target server failed; Application tsom_oes is not found in config context"
tsom_oes is the name of my application, or it was. I've changed every instance of that name I can find and still it tells me it is looking for tsom_oes.
Can anyone tell me just what is looking for it and where it is expecting to find it?
I ran the verifier on the ear file and it did give me some errors, although none of them seem to relate to this. Specifically it told me it did not like the xml in a tld file I'm using
and it seems to think Hibernate needs a bunch of JBoss classes (none of which are referred to by my app anywhere). I'm guessing the verify is mistaken on those, but if anyone knows better I'd like to hear
Meanwhile I don't know why it won't deploy, nor why it is still looking for tsom_oes.
One more thing I must add: this ear file exposes portlets which I am hoping will be accessible through the portal server. The ear file works on JBoss, but I have added what I think are the necessary sun xml files to make it run here.
By 'exposes portlets' I mean that I have created a sun-portlet.xml and implemented the appropriate interfaces (all of which work on JBoss).
    Environment:
Sun App server 9.1 plus portal server 7.2 on Windows XP

Okay, I found the answer. I had hacked the domain.xml for this some time ago (this task has been off and on a lot) and forgotten.
I found the tsom_oes reference in there and removed it. Now it deploys.
Hopefully this helps someone else some day... probably not though, eh?

  • Deployed the EAR Application, but unable to access the Application's JSP's

I installed SAP Netweaver 2004s and tried to create a Web application and an ear file.
I followed all the steps. The deployment from the Developer Studio showed success. When I try to access the application using the url
    http://server:port/WebModuleProject/test_jsp.jsp
I get the following error. I am not sure why it is looking at com.sap.engine.docs.examples for the file.
The requested resource /WebModuleProject/test_jsp.jsp is not available
Details:   File [WebModuleProject/test_jsp.jsp] not found in application root of alias [/] of J2EE application [sap.com/com.sap.engine.docs.examples].
Please let me know what I am possibly doing wrong here. Any help is very much appreciated.

    Hi Pankaj,
You need to define an application alias for your application before you publish your custom made application.

Actually the steps which i had followed to deploy that fulfillment project are:

    * select Register with ESB, Integration connection
after which the fulfillment webservice can be seen in ESB control as well as application server control. But i could not able to see webservice created in application server control.
Also i tried deploying the fulfillmentESB using EAR file - no use
So kindly give me some steps to solve this issue...

  • Deployment question: exploded EAR application

I've been having some EJB connection problems when I try to deploy an exploded
    EAR app.
    Here is some background info.
    Running WL 6.1 SP2 on Solaris 8
I have the following directory structure for my EAR app which
contains my EJB's and WEB app
    /deployment/config/mydomain
    /myApp
    /META-INF/application.xml
    /classes
    /ejb
    /webApp
    /WEB-INF/web.xml
    /weblogic.xml
The application.xml file contains all the descriptors for each EJB jar file in
the ejb directory as well as the deployment descriptor to the webApp.
In the Weblogic console I can create a new application called myApp and point
it to the above directory (/deployment/config/mydomain/myApp) and it will deploy
all the EJB's and the web app and I can display the login page to my webApp but
as soon as I try to login and the webApp has to connect to a LOGIN ejb it fails
because it cannot connect to the EJB.
If I deploy each ejb jar file separately into a running weblogic environement
I can login which means I can successfully connect to the EJB's.
Has anyone done something similar to this. I'm following the BANK example that
came with WL6.1, but I have not been successful and wondering if anyone can shed
    some light here for me.
If you want to see my application.xml or web.xml let me know and I'll post it
    up.
    Thanks
    Ray

Make sure your EJB's have a deployment target. I noticed that when I
deployed an exploded ear file, the EJB's weren't deployed to the server,
they were present in the console, but not deployed.

  • Error while creating a new application

    Hi Gurus
I'm a newbie in FDM. I'm accessing Workbench Client from my local machine(Windows XP). When I choose to create a new application it is giving this error: "-2147220992- Error in EnumProjects"(clsAppMgr.mDisplayNewApp).
    Please help me solve this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.

    Hello,
As it appears you have multiple issues (Workbench Win32 issues, IIS issues, SharedServices issues, etc.) I would suggest you create an SR to have someone from support help you from a complete perspective. Issues that spread out of more than 'one single issue' are hard to diagnose via the forums and do not offer a speedy response as we can not see anything about your environment.
Keep in mind Support sometimes can not fix your "environment" but only point out what was done wrong during the installation/implementation. It is at that point your priority to work internally to find the resources to address the issues.
    Thank you,

Ok so I downloaded the most current installer CS5.1, My previous installer was version 5.0. It did install fine fully updated to my license version. I just wanted to update in case anyone in the future has a similiar experience. Too bad this advice was not offered by the "experts" here.

  • Creating a Partner Application through code

We have an Apex 3.1 application which is using SSO as its Authentication scheme (we have set it up as a partner application using the instructions contained in metalink article 353023.1).
I am now trying to create an install script so that our application can be installed with minimal user interaction.
The only step in the metalink article I mention above that I can't see how to automate through script is Step B, "REGISTER APEX AS PARTNER APP IN SSO" i.e. where you create the Partner Application from the UI found at http://<server>:7777/pls/orasso/
My question is: Is there any way that anyone can think of that I would be able to do this part through script / code? It would seem that it should just be a case of submitting the Name, Home URL, Success URL & Logout URL parameters to some procedure and getting, as output parameters, the Token and Encryption key...
Any and all comments/suggestions much appreciated,
    Andy

    Hi,
Did you find any workaround of the above issue?
I am also struggling with it.
