Creating Configuration MBean using RemoteMBeanServer

Hi
I'm trying to create a configuration MBean using the RemoteMBeanServer. More precisely, I get a reference to the RemoteMBeanServer using the MBeanHome.
Then I use the standard createMBean method of the javax.management.MBeanServer to create a Configuration MBean. In my case it is a JDBCConnectionPoolMBean.
However, when I try to run this from lets say a webapp, it throws a quote: "javax.management.NotCompliantMBeanException: The MBean must be have a concrete class"
I know I can use the MBeanHome to create ConfigurationMBeans but for sake of reuse I'd like to use the MBeanServer's interface. I can use the MBeanHome to get the RemoteMBeanServer, but I don't want to use the MBeanHome interface for MBean management.
I can lookup/query the Configuration MBeans using the generic MBeanServer but I'm not able to create any.
The core of the code is something like this:
ObjectName oname = new ObjectName("devel:Name=testPool,Type=JDBCConnectionPool");
ObjectInstance oi = mbeanServer.createMBean(
"weblogic.management.configuration.JDBCConnectionPoolMBean" oname );
where mbeanServer is a reference to a javax.management.MBeanServer retrieved from MBeanHome
How can I do this then? Do I have to use one of the other overloaded createMBean methods? different name?
Hope someone can help.

  • Can't fine WebServer configuration MBean using WLST

    I am trying to script the various log attributes (for access.log) on the weblogic.management.configuration.WebServerMBean
    using WLST. I have done the same before with wlshell. However I am having a problem
    finding that mbean use the WLST directory concept. I would presume it would be
    in <domain>/config/Servers/<server-name>/WebServer/<server-name>
    but all that is under that dir is WebDeployment.
    Can you share with me where I would find that MBean?
    Also, in the above directory path example, isn't <server-name> appearing twice
    a little redudant? If I have already navigated to Servers/<server-name> why should
    I need to navigate thru the <server-name> again when accessing other MBean beneath
    this directory?
    Thanks. I really think WLST is a great tool with tons of promise. We have automated
    the whole domain creation and managed server/cluster config with one script!

    a little redudant? If I have already navigated to Servers/<server-name> why should
    I need to navigate thru the <server-name> again when accessing other MBean beneath
    this directory?All the MBeans as you may have already noticed are arranged in a
    hiearchical fashion, as you see in config.xml. So for example you have,
    Domain - <domain-name>
         |_ Servers
              |_ myserver
                   |_ COM
                   | |_ myserver -No Contained MBeans/children
                   |_ Log
                   | |_ myserver - No Contained MBeans/children
                   |
                   |_ WebServer
                        |_ myserver
                             |_WebDeployment
                                  |_ myWebDeployment
    As you can see when you are at the domain level and do a ls(), by
    default you will see the children MBean types under the Domain MBean
    instance. If you specify ls('a'), this will show the attribute names and
    values for the domain mbean instance. So, 'Servers' is a child of Domain
    MBeean and when you cd to 'Servers' and do a ls() it will show the
    available mbean instance names under Servers. You will cd to any
    instance, in this case 'myserver'. After cd'ing to myserver when you do
    a ls() you will see the child MBean types for the Server Instance and
    ls('a') shows the attributes and values for the mbean instance.
    Now cd to WebServer, and when you do a ls() it shows the instance names
    of WebServer and since there is only one instance it shows 'myserver'
    which is the name of the WebServerMBean instance. When you cd to this
    instance and do a ls(), it shows the children of this mBean which is
    WebDeploymentMBean.
    Hope this helped explain the confusion.. :-).
    Let me know if you have any questions.
    Thanls,

  • Error message while creating configurable material for variant configuration.

    Dear All,
    I want to create configurable material for the purpose of variant configuration. When trying to create configurable material using mm 01 or mm k1, it is displaying an error message that internal number assignment is not possible for the material type configurable materials as well in using external number also. Can anyone specify the steps to be done in creating the configurable material. Thank you all.
    Regards
    Akula Sivaji Kumar Madhu Kiran

    If you want to set these material type to another group (Which has a internal number and external number range), then you can do it.
    In MMNR, Click on the Edit Group.
    Then select the material type and click select element.
    Then mark a tick option in another group and then press Element/Group.
    Then you can see the material type will come under this group.
    Now save your entry, and create a material with this material type.

  • Problem in creating an MBean

    A server is created as follows:
    javax.management.MBeanServer server = (javax.management.MBeanServer)
    mBeanHome.getMBeanServer();
    Then I tried to create an MBean using this:
    server.createMBean(mbeanClassName, mbeanObjectName);
    It didn't work with my values of the parameters. I need to know the
    definitions of the two parameters: mbeanClassName, mbeanObjectName. Thank
    you very much.
    T.Pei

    the class name is the name of actual class for the MBean that you are
    creating on the server.
    ie. com.companyname.management.mbean.mbean_name. This of course must be in
    the
    claspath for the weblogic server running so it can find the mbean.
    the object name is the name for that mbean. look up
    javax.management.ObjectName.
    I think that Weblogic accepts WeblogicObjectName types as a parameter, but
    that
    extends javax.management.ObjectName so you can use either.

  • Help/Example needed for creating JMSQueues/JMSTopics using the MBean API

    I am trying to create JMSQueues programmatically using the MBean API. When
    I use MBeanHome.createAdminMBean(), a queue appears in the root of the
    config file. This is progress, but the queue is in the wrong place! I need
    the queues to be part of my JMS server's "destinations" as seen on the
    console.
    So now I am trying to use createConfigurationMBean() instead, but I can't
    figure out what the "parent" parameter should be- no documentation! My
    first guess was that the parent might be the JMSServer, but that doesn't
    work.
    Anyone have example code to insert JMSQueues and JMSTopics into a specific
    JMS server's destinations?
    Here is the code I tried... All goes well until the final
    createConfigurationMBean call, where it throws a MBeanCreationException:
    // Get the MBeanHome bean
    Object obj = jndiContext.lookup("weblogic.management.adminhome");
    MBeanHome mbeanhome = (MBeanHome) javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow
    (obj, MBeanHome.class);
    // Get the server MBean
    JMSServerMBean jmsServerMB =
    (JMSServerMBean)mbeanhome.getMBean("examplesJMSServer",
    JMSServerMBean.class);
    // Create the new Queue
    JMSQueueMBean jmsQMB = (JMSQueueMBean)mbeanhome.createConfigurationMBean
    ("weblogic.examples.jms.fooQueue", "JMSQueue", jmsServerMB);

    Ok, I still don't see how I can do it differently with the admin tool. If
    you want to see the commands I'm using, I can post them, but the basic one
    is shown below in the previous message. We're trying to set up a script so
    that developers can just run it and properly configure WebLogic with the
    right components.

    I am using the weblogic.Admin tool, not doing this in code. I will attempt
    to translate your advice when I get time again.
    My commands look like this:
    java weblogic.Admin -url 127.0.0.1:7001 -username system -passwordweblogic
    CREATE -mbean "mydomain:Type=JMSQueue,Name=MyJMSQueue"
    I create this, I create the JMSServer MBean, then do and INVOKE (insteadof
    CREATE) and call the addDestination method, adding the JMS Queue MBeanthat
    I created previously, using the same naming scheme as in the above CREATE.

  • How can create a MBean for LoginServlet?

    hi all,
    i am new to JMX concepts.
    i would like to find the response time for a login (servlet & jsp) process using JMX MBean.
    anybody have material to do this plz give me.
    Thanks
    Rams

    hi ,
    i solved
    here i am posting that steps
    JMX Interface definition
    ResponseTimeCalculatorMBean interface defined as follows.
    public interface ResponseTimeCalculatorMBean
    Note: MBean interface name must be ended with MBean.
    JMX MBean Implementation
    ResponseTimeCalculatorMBean interface implemented in ResposneTimeCalculator.java class.
    Implementation class should be the same name as MBean interface name except the suffix 'MBean'.
    public class ResponseTimeCalculator implements ResponseTimeCalculatorMBean
    Attributes for ResponseTimeCalculatorMBean.
    /*operations implementations*/
    Registering with MBean Server
    public class LoginResponseTimeService extends ResponseTimeCalculator implements MBeanRegistration
    MBeanServer mbs;
    ObjectName name;
    public void start() throws Exception
    //write custom code here to register custom Mbeans
    mbs= ManagementFactory.getPlatformMBeanServer();
    name= new ObjectName("mbean:type=ResponseTimeCalculatorMBean");
    mbs.registerMBean(this, name);
    /*MBeanRegistration interface implementations*
    Now the JMX MBean service has been created.
    JMX custom MBean with JBOSS Application Server
    To monitor login processs response time using JBoss Application server's jmx-console or JConsole utility, do the following steps.
    Create an archive for created MBean classes (.class files)
    eg.jar -cf ResponseTime.jar *.class
    Set class path for ResponseTime.jar in "D:\jboss-4.2.0.GA\bin\run.bat" or copy and paste the ResponseTime.jar into D:\jboss-4.2.0.GA\server\default\lib
    Configure MBean service name in JBoss-service.xml as follows
    <mbean
    code="LoginResponseTimeService"
    name="mbean: service=LoginResponseTime">
    </mbean>
    Run the server.
    Now you can monitor the response time from http://localhost:8080/jmx-console.
    i hope this will help to new guys

    That's of course the truth. There is no class with a FQCN: weblogic.management.configuration.JMSEventGenConfigurationMBean
    So I tried to pass the FQCN to the method and I received the following error message:
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: weblogic.management.configuration.com.bea.wli.management.configuration.JMSEventGenConfigurationMBean
    It seems weblogic is always prepending "weblogic.management.configuration" to the classname of configuration MBeans (that's what the documentation says).
    I have also tried to create the MBean via WLST and weblogic.ADMIN tool but had no success.
    Below is a sample of a call of the weblogic.ADMIN tool to create the MBean:
    java weblogic.Admin -adminurl localhost:7001 -username weblogic -password weblogic CREATE -mbean
    integration:Name=myTestConfig -type JMSEventGenConfiguration
    It doesn't work with FQCN either. The tool does not throw any exceptions nor does it write any other messages to the screen.
    It simply quits.
    Is there a way to solve this problem?
    Environment:
    Win XP
    BEA WebLogic Integration 8.5
    WLS 8.1
    Thanks in advance

    try using custom() after you connect WLI instance
    e.g. connect(.......)
    custom()
    ls()
    This may help you I think.

  • Sharepoint server 2013 configuration issue - failed to create configuration database

    Hi All,
    I have installed the SharePoint server 2013. After installing the SharePoint products, the configuration stops at failure of creating configuration database.
    Some system configuration & info:
    - 1 Domain controller server run Active Directory services on Windows server 2008 R2 SP1 (PC1 with name DC.Brainfiniti.com)
    - 1 Server which is used for installing Sharepoint server 2013 and MS SQL server 2008 R2 SP1 (PC2 with name App.Brainfiniti.com)
    - All of PCs were satisfied the requirement of Sharepoint server 2013
    - Firewall turned off & No antivirus tool was installed.
    - During installing of Sharepoint, choose "Complete" option: Farm mode and use SQL Server instead of SQL Express.
    - During configuration, created a new farm with a domain user account.
    - Use domain account to log on and install, configure in Sharepoint & SQL server (PC2)
    ATTEMPTS:
    1. Tried install and set up all of steps with just 1 account - domain administrator.
    2. Tried with separate domain account:
    - SQL Service account use for:
    + Install SQL server 2008
    + Connect all SQL services
    + Admin for SQL server
    - Setup account use for:
    + Member of local administrator group in PC2
    + Install Sharepoint
    + Run Configuration wizard
    + Was granted permission in SQL database: dbcreator, securityadmin, sysadmin and deselect serveradmin role.
    + Was choose for the database account in configuration database step
    Also tried with SQL service account in this step.
    3. Tried with Standalone mode for Sharepoint installing
    4. Trie with domain name: Brainfiniti.local
    5. Tried with some another solution from topic relate to database configuration in our community but not successful.
    But all attempts are failed at this configuration database step :'(
    Please correct me if I am going wrong by missing something or do I need to start/install some services.

  • Error while creating configurable task list

    Dear Expert,
    I am trying to create configurable task list for equipments and I want to use this task list for preventive maintenance cycle. In following steps I will tell you what i did in the process.
    Step1:- Characteristic is created and different values are assigned to this.
    Step2:- Class with class type 300 is created, characteristic is assigned to this class
    Step3:- Equipments are created and class created in above steps is assigned to them and character values are set for them
    Step4:- General maintenance task list created
    Step5:- Configuration profile for task list with same class is created
    now while creating the object assignment in the task list operation, in the dependency basic data I am getting error ' No source code entered'. Please guide me what data do I need to enter in this basic data and where I am doing wrong.
    I try to follow the previous discussion regarding the same topic, but unable to create this object dependency assignment.
    Thanx in advance, for your help.
    Regards,
    Parag

    Hi Parag,
    See this document.Configurable Tasklist
    I hope you will be able to connect and correct your process accordingly.
    Step3 here (CU01) is related to your issue.
    You are expected to give a code shown like that in the Editor above Assignments  in the Tasklist Extras menu (Takes to CU01)

    Hi Veera,
    Actually you are getting a warning message where one of two things could have happened. Either you specified an incorrect zone name or one of the zones has not been fully booted. It's likely that you haven't booted the zones, so please follow this:
    zoneadm list -iv
    If zone1 or zone2 are not running then boot and configure them
    zoneadm -z <zone> boot
    zlogin -C <zone>
    After that you can continue to follow the step by step instructions at

  • What is the pin map for chip select on LM3S8962 for "ARM SPI Create Configuration Reference.vi" ? (0 through n)

    Hello All,
    When the LM3S8962 is the master, what pin is used when chip
    select is the default (0), or another value ?
    Despite this question being asked a few ways in the forums,
    NI's "ARM SPI Create Configuration Reference.vi" documentation
    for chip select is unclear.
    TI's manual is no help for NI's implementation of chip select.
    NI's help for the above subvi seems not only too generic (perhaps
    written for the SDK ?),  but erroneous in that it reads:
    "chip select specifies the chip select line to assert during the
    SPI transfer. The chip select line must connect to the EEPROM
    on the
    microcontroller. Refer to the documentation for the SPI
    device for information
    about chip select lines."
    This is useless as the ARM microcontroller has no EEPROM and
    the SPI slave device documentation only covers its own pins.
    The hope is to have more than one slave on the LM3S8962's single SPI bus,
    without chewing up a additional pin using elemental I/O like the splendid forum
    examples for ADC's and DAC's.  This would save diagram real estate compared
    with two sequence frames that are typically shown toggling a elemental I/O digital
    output before and after writing and/or reading from the slave.   It also would clarify
    what on chip resource trade offs there are for each chip select number chosen.
    (as most pins have multiple possible functions)
    Thanks in advance for any light on this.   Please don't post info on other processors
    to this thread as this taints future searches on this issue with this tier 1 target.
    Best,
    Davy

    Hi Davy,
    While doing research on this question, I was informed that you have been working with a colleague of mine, Joel, via email for this same question. So that we do not have multiple engineers working on the same issue, Joel will be your point of contact for this issue. I ask that when you have come to a resolution, that you post that resolution here so that other customers can reference this information.
    Thanks!
