I have just begun HR programming. can anyone tell me how to create a payroll function step by step? I have read a few threads on payroll in SDN but i had trouble understanding what they were talking about.

Hi
HR deals with the INFOTYPES which are similar to Tables in General ABAP.
There are different ways of fetching data from these infotypes.
There are different areas in HR LIKE Personal Admn, Orgn Management, Benefits, Time amangement, Event Management, Payroll etc
Infotypes for these areas are different from one another area.
storing of records data in each type of area is different
LDBS like PNP are used in HR programing.
Instead of Select.. we use some ROUTINES and PROVIDE..ENDPROVIDE.. etc
and in the case of Pay roll we use Clusters and we Import and Export them for data fetching.
On the whole Normal ABAP is different from HR abap.
For Personal Admn the Infotypes start with PA0000 to PA1999
Time Related Infotypes start with PA2000 to PA2999.
Orgn related Infotypes start with HRP1000 to HRP1999.
All custom developed infotypes stsrat with PA9000 onwards.
In payroll processing we use Clusters like PCL1,2,3 and 4.
Instead of Select query we use PROVIDE and ENDPROVIDE..
You have to assign a Logical Database in the attributes PNP.
Go through the SAp doc for HR programming and start doing.

Access payroll variables from custom payroll function

Hi All,
I have a requirement to create a custom payroll function that returns some data from IT0006 and IT0032.
I have written the code in PCBURZDE0, as the payroll is for Germany, it does read the data needed.
My question is, how I can access the variables specified for the function in the payroll schema.
Schema definition in PE01

If I double-click Par1 for function _DFRD (&PRO), then I see he two variables I should write the data to:

So, as I understand I should write the two variables PKWWR and ENTKM, I have the values in the function code, but I don't know how to access these variables.

1 - PIT is a Function that is used in the Payroll Schema to "Process the Internal Table".
2 - You mentioned that you had created a Custom Function to read IT0006 and IT0032, and I only suggested to you that you could have that Custom Function generate Information WageTypes and save them in the Input Table where they could then be used in PCRs.
3 - I did not mention that you can read only one value through operation AMT, but I mentioned that using AMT=xxxxxx followed by AMT=yyyyyy means that the first statement is useless. On the other hand, using AMT=xxxxxx followed by AMT+yyyyyy and AMT+zzzzzz will result in the amount being the total of the 3 values.
4 - Please read some documents on Schemas, Functions and PCRs, such as in the Wikis on this site, and study your current Payroll Schema, it's sub-schemas, it's functions and the operations in it's PCRs. Note that t-code pe01, pe02 and pe04 can be used to find some documentation on functions and operations.

Error while creating Custom Defined Functions in Essbase

Hi All, I am trying to create CDF(Custom Defined Functions) in Essbase. Iwant to create a function which take list of child member andreturn the first child. For this, i have created a java file called"ChildAccess.java" which contains the following code: public class ChildAccess { public static char GetFirstMember(char [] members) { return members[0]; } } I have compiled and made jar file called"ChildAccess.jar" and pasted it at"ARBORPATH/java/udf". Then i restarted the Essbase Serverand run the following MaxL command to register the function create or replace function '@ChildAccess' as 'ChildAccess.GetFirstMember' spec '@ChildAccess(memberRange)' comment 'adds list of input members'. Till here i am not getting any error but when i am using thisfunction in my calc script as given below FIX(@ChildAccess(@CHILDREN("Abc"))) it gives the following error "Error:1200414 Error parsing formula for [FIX STATEMENT] (line 2)"argument[1] may not have size[6] in function[@CHILDREN]" NOTE: The SIZE[6] is giving the no. of child in member"ABC". If you want to use the CDF in a FIX statement you need to make sure that it returns a member name rather than a number: public class ChildAccess { public static String GetFirstMember(String[] members) { return members[0]; } } I prefer to define the function against a specific application rather than globally because you only need to restart the application in order to pick-up any modifications to the .jar file. So the MaxL function definition would be: create or replace function appname.'@_GETFIRSTMEMBER' as 'ChildAccess.GetFirstMember(String[])'; and in the calculation script the FIX statement would become: fix ( @member( @_GetFirstMember( @name( @children( "Abc" ) ) ) ) ) This looks a little messy so you can use a macro to simplify it: create or replace macro appname.'@GETFIRSTMEMBER'(single) as '@member( @_GETFIRSTMEMBER( @name( @@1 ) ) )' SPEC "@GETFIRSTMEMBER(memberRange)"; and then the FIX statement could be written: fix( @getfirstmember( @children( "PRODUCT" ) ) )

Create custom java function in graphical mapper for Global use?

I created a java function (remove leading zeros in string field) in the graphical tool.
The problem custom function is at local map level only.
How can i make custom java function global for use in all SWC/namespaces/interfaces.
Can this be done with XI 3.0 SP 13? Any suggestions on how to do this.

HR ABAP - PAYROLL - Copy existing payroll function and changes

Hello all,
Required a help over an issue with HR ABAP - Payroll module.
My requirement is to Copy an existing custom Payroll Function (Transaction PE04), into a new one. The existing payroll function has the code for updating payroll results in RT table. I have to change the statements in the new function making sure that now it will update IT/OT table instead of RT table.
Kindly help me with the issue.

Hi,
you can not copy function as i know. you should create a new one and copy code from the existing function to new function and modify code for the new requirement. this will be mush easier.

Custom xpath function

i am creating custom xpath function in jdeveloper(10g).i hav followed every step given in http://prsync.com/oracle/custom-xpath-function-in-bpel--7718.even after configuring jdeveloper,the custom function is nt there in the list of functions.also if anyone can explain the functionality of the mapping(what each element is doing) given in PreBuiltExtensionFunctions.xml file.thanx.

Customer Partner Function

Hello Experts,
I am from EHS Module.. I am creatig Scenario for report Shipping.
In that I am creating Customer.
I am using Account Group: 0002 Goods Receipts
As per SAP Guide,
"If User created the customer in the account group 0002, the SR (MSDS Recipient) and WE ( Goods Receipient) functions will appear automatically in Customer Partner Function.
But when I am creating Customer in My system using account group 0002, those mentioned Customer Partner Funcition are not getting cretaed Automatically instaed SH ( GOods Receipt) is getting created.
Could you please guide me what setting I need to do in order to create Customer Partner Function SR (MSDS Recipient) and WE ( Goods Receipient) Automatically while creating Customer.

First you create partner determination procedure or copy from std. AG
Then double click on partner functions in procedure
Include your two partner functions in procedure and tick mark to mandatory (Also remove tick marks of other partner functions which u don't need)
Now double click partner determination procedure assignment
Assign partner functions in front of account group - 0002
Now double click on Account group - Function assignment
Assign account groups in front of your two partner function
Then create customer partner functions will come automatically

Update infotype 0041 in payroll function

Hi,
I have created a payroll function to update infotype 0041 during payroll process, but it seems this is causing some inconsistencies in PCL2 cluster,since I'm having some payroll errors.
Is there anyway to avoid this? Can I create an infotype during the payroll process, or this is not advisable?

You have to make the function call a separate unit of work.One other option is to put the function call in a report & SUBMIT it from the User exit.

Doubt when i try to create payroll function by using t/c PE04

Hi,
When i try to create payroll function by using t/c PE04. Dialog box is generating saying that 'Object can only be created in SAP development class'.
Can i proceed with enter or i need any customer dev. class.

Hi,
I received the same message when I tried to create a new customer function on PE04. I assume that you are trying to create the function starting with Z*.
Try creating the function that starts with Z_*. This will then allow you to save the object in your own develoopment package.

I need to create customer master data (T-Code: XD01) include the company code data and sales area data.
Is there any function module that I can use? I tried to use BDC but since the screen is different for each account group, I'm thinking is there any FM that can use so that I do not need to create so much BDC.

HR Offcycle Payroll(Customer Specific Function(

Hi,
I am working on SAP 4.7, i have developed an customer specific HR payroll function, its attached in the payroll schema, in the routine i have updated some HR infotypes. Now in normal payroll run it works fine but, in offcyle it has two buttons 'start payroll' which runs the schema, and 'save' which saves the changes, what i need is to save the changes when SAVE button is pressed not the START PAYROLL button, i have looked couldnt seem to find an exit at save.

During the Start Payroll process, when the schema calls my customer specific function. I filled an internal table PSOPER, then when the SAVE button is pressed system reads the data from this infotype to update it depending on the field OPERA of this internal table

How to create dropdown list for custom remote function module

Try using POPUP_GET_VALUES function module in the begining of the Function module this gives a POP to provide a value to you

Check the import parameters of this Function module if it has COMBOBOX as parameter ( I dont have SAP access at this point of time) you can pass X to it so you get List box for the following fields
