Creating DB with DBCA on Windows

I want to create DB with dbca on windows, what is the considrations i should do while creating it?
I created DBs with dbca on linux boxes, how it differs on windows, How i will give the paths ? etc or any any suggestions.......

Creating DB with dbca hangs on 11g

Hi all,
I'm trying to use dbca to create a database on Solaris 10. When I get to step 14 ("Creation Options), after clicking the Finish button, I was presented with a confirmation with an HTML page showing me all the parameters I have set. After clicking OK, that window closes and now I'm back to the step 14 window. It stays there and seemingly not doing anything.

Hi, i have the same problème. I tried to resolve it by modifying semaphores ans shared memory parameters in the /etc/system file but it doesn't work.

I want to delete the tab3 parameter, because in a other solaris where oracle is installed correctelly the tab3 doesn't appear when i execute the commande stty -a.

have installed Icloud on my pc using windows7 ... try to log on and get message that my apple id is valid but not an icloud account Went to www.icloud and tried logon there and that didn't work either. getting instructions run around. How do I get an icloud account.

You may not have noticed it but when you downloaded the iCloud control panel for Windows from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1455, it does state:
"Note: To create an iCloud account you need an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later, or a Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later."
If you need to get your photos off your Verizon phone, the Verison store should be able to help you with that. Just bring your phone and a usb memory stick and they should be able to transfer them for you.

Creating databases with dbca templates after upgrades and patches

I have a 10.2.0.1 base release Oracle Home. Over time it has been upgraded to 10.2.0.3 and quarterly security patches have been applied. Now I want to create a new database using a dbca (database configuration assistant) template.
During the 10.2.0.3 install did the templates also upgraded to include all the 10.2.0.3 stuff? Or are they still back at 10.2.0.1?
What about the quarterly CPU patches? Do they need to be applied to the new db after it is created?

RAC: ocfs-option disabled when trying to create database with dbca.

Hi everybody,
I have a really weird problem running dbca in my 2-node RAC installation on Red Hat ES.
The software version of both oracle clusterware and rdbms is 10.2.0.2.0, meaning the latest patchset has been applied.
I have installed and configured ocfs, and 4 different ocfs-partition are neatly presented to the operating system. I can save files and browse the ocfs file system, everything seems to be working fine.
Also, srvctl status nodeapps -n <nodename> shows that oracle clusterware is running nicely, all the components are up including the listener, which I used netca to configure.
However, when trying to create a cluster database using dbca, the option to use ocfs is not enabled, e.g it is "grayed out" in the Oracle Universal installer. So is raw devices option. The only option left is the ASM, which is selectable in the OUI.
In addition, I can indeed run scripts manually and create a single-instance database and use the ocfs-partitions for the datafiles, redo logs and archivelogs. No problems at all!
Do any of you guys have the slightest clue what can be causing this behaviour? Of course I have raised an issue with Oracle Support, but while waiting for an update, it doesn't hurt trying the forum.

Create CD with JPGs in Windows 7 to be read in Mac

I am aware that most advanced users would scoff at this, but yes, I am working in WIndows and my only hope is that the overwhelming amount of knowledge, professionalism and kindness, combined with inquiring minds I find on this forum, would help me find the solution. I am trying to create a CD with photos in JPG format. The CD must be red in a MAC. The only thing I know about Apple is that the O/S is different from Windows. The MAC user does not know much about her computer and tells me that usually, when you insert the CD, it will show on the desktop. The ones I created in Windows do not. Could anybody help? Many thanks in advance.

Well, I just answered my own question and am posting this just in case somebody else had the same problem. The new files format is universal, so, essentially, if you work in a newer Windows (Vista, 7) and the Mac is at least version 9.0, it would not have problems reading Windows disks. I was having a problem because the Mac machine I was trying to make read the Windows disk was ancient. If anybody is interested to find more about this, here is a link to a table explaing the O/S formats

Can not create new DB with DBCA ora-12560

My OS is Windows XP. Oracle version is 10.2.0.3.
Try to create an instance with dbca. I got ora-12560 error when coping database files.
So I try to create DB instance manually.
When I run

For example, a border: a black line with a width 1 and then a transparent line with a width 5. Further inner, it is the content pane.
In JavaSE, there seems to have the paintComponent() method for the JFrame to realize the effect.

Not sure why your code is doing that. I usually use an ObjectProperty<Point2D> to hold the initial coordinates of the mouse press, and set it to null on a mouse release. That seems to avoid the dragging being confused by mouse interaction with other nodes.

Heres the second: After Effects can’t continue: unexpected failure during application startup I paid for the month subscription of 29.99. It claims it is downloading again?! Am I missing something here? Why is this process so complicated? I need to get this resolved asap and start working.

I originally had Adobe Photoshop Extended, then upgraded to the Production Suite. I ran the Adobe Cleaner, and that uninstalled most Adobe products, including my existing Adobe install, and then I re-installed everything with the same error code. Since CS4 came with CS5, I've installed AE CS4, but would really like to upgrade because I'm new to Creative Suite, and not sure how CS4 integrates with CS5...CS4 After Effects installed perfectly. I do have a 64 bit system, and installing to an OCZ Vertex 2....every other suite installs perfectly, except AE. And I think that is the coolest program in the Suite. I thank you all so much for taking the time to help, I really want to get AECS5 running...I did try to install after doing the recommended items Adobe suggests for Exit Codes 6 and 7, including turning off many startups...
I'm baffled....

Problems when I try create a database with DBCA

Hello,
I have created a clonic template with the DBCA of one of my Databases.
When I try create Database with the template the DBCA does not do anything.
No error messages.
My Oracle is 9i 9.2.0.6.
Somebody can help me?

Can you check the alert log/ trace file if you can see any error message there ??

ORA-27103, can not create a database with dbca 10gR2 in SL3

I'm just trying to install Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) , Enterprise/Standard Edition for Linux x86 in Scientific Linux CERN Release 3.0.8 (SL) following the instructions

The installations goes right, but when I try to create a new database with dbca assistant I got the following errors while copying database files
ORA-27103: internal error
using the scripts:
startup nomount pfile="/u01/app/oracle/admin/samdb/scripts/init.ora";
ORA-27103: internal error
Linux Error: 13: Permission denied

I've checked the permissions but they seem ok, so I wonder if anyone could figure out what I'm doing wrong.

the error is dropped when there is an issue with the (db) block size, needs to be a multiple of the system page size, or when there is an issue with the heap allocation,
so please check init.ora/spfile parameters
maybe an strace -frt -s 512 gives a hint

Fdm, create app with enabling "Windows Integrated Security"

currently, we need to enter UserID and Password each time we create a new fdm app on the web. we also cannot sign into the Workbench client.
how do we configure the system, so that we can create applications WITH enabling "Windows Integrated Security", so that we can use the same password to sign into the Workbench client.
