Creating object with names from a String Array

Hi all,
This might be a stupid question .. I have the following method:
     public OptionInputPanel(Option newO, String [] parameter){
          super(new BorderLayout());
          o = newO;
          for (int i = 0; i < parameter.length; i++){
               testB = BorderFactory.createTitledBorder(parameter);
               JFormattedTextField parameter[i] = new JFormattedTextField(); // problem
as you can see I would like to name my text fields with the strings that I have in the parameters array so that I can get their values later on. How can I do it?
Thanks for help
Stan

               JFormattedTextField parameter[i] = new JFormattedTextField(); // problemYou are declare an array of size i, and assigning a single JFormattedTextField to it.
     public OptionInputPanel(Option newO, String [] parameter){
          super(new BorderLayout());
          o = newO;
          JFormattedTextField params[ i ] = new JFormattedTextField();
          for (int i = 0; i < parameter.length; i++){
               testB = BorderFactory.createTitledBorder(parameter[ i ]);
               param[ i ] = new JFormattedTextField(parameter[ i ]);

  • How to dynamically create a JSF dataTable from a String[][] array

    Hi, Im developing an application that uses columns, rows and data instead of any other attributes, so I got from a database Resultset a String[] array with the rows headers, other String[] array with the columns headers, and a String[][] array with the information between every row[] and column[] header al this String arrays depend on a method that receives the group title as a parameter so they are dynamically created, anyway I can display this information in a jsp page but I dont know how to display this information in a JSF dataTable.
    Does anybody knows how I could do this? and which is the proper way to create a dynamically rows and columns dataTable?

    When I try to make a MD-form, where the base-table for the detail contains a column with a BLOB-datatype. I get following error when I finish creation of the form.
    Error: Exception from wwv_generate_component.build_procedure (WWV-01821)
    Error creating module: ORA-01403: no data found (WWV-16042)
    When I use the table with the BLOB as master or in a form, it works fine.
    Has anyone else experienced this problem? Or knows a way to fix or work around it. Thanks in advance.

  • Script that create Layerset with name from layer?

    Hello!
    This should be easy for someone who know whet is doing so not me:P
    I want script to automatically create layerset from each selected layer, name it as that layer and place that layer in it
    I found old script that do that but only normal layer not linked or embeded, and I want to do it for all selected layers not only to one
    Can someone modify it a little to work little better? I have no idea how to do it and probably would take me like thousands hours or more
    thx
    #target photoshop
    main();
    function main(){
    if(!documents.length) return;
    var doc = activeDocument;
    if(doc.activeLayer.kind != LayerKind.NORMAL) return;
    var layerRef = doc.activeLayer;
    var layerSetRef = doc.layerSets.add();
    layerSetRef.name = layerRef.name;
    layerRef.move(layerSetRef, ElementPlacement.PLACEATEND);

    You could remove the line
    if(doc.activeLayer.kind != LayerKind.NORMAL) return;
    But it would only work with one selected Layer (and also on selected LayerSets).
    To handle more than one selected Layer (or all Layers) some changes would be necessary.

  • Development Objects with " / " names

    Hi ABAP experts,
    Have you ever come across ABAP custom objects with "/" names, such as /BPPwhatever
    I'm wondering if developers can use such names for custom objects instead og "usual" Z_ or Y_
    Thanks,

    This is a namespace.
    Developer organisations (SAP, customers, Partners, ISVs, etc.) can register their own namespace with SAP.
    Then they can create their own objects inside this namespace without worrying about nameing conflict with others.
    E.g IBM might register the namespace "IBM". Then they can create objects such as /IBM/PROGRAM1, /IBM/DBTAB1, etc.
    If they created objects in the "customer namespace" (i.e. starting with "Z" or "Y") someone else could create an object of the same name in another development system and when the two development streams were consolidated there would be a conflict. Namespaces prevent this from happening.
    Cheers
    Graham Robbo

  • Yes, I want to create object-relational schema from DTD.

    Thank you for reply~~
    I want to create object-relational schema from DTD using object type or collections as mentioned.
    In reply, it is impossible.
    But, I read Oracle supports storing an XML document with object-relation. I executed storing sample, but I had to create schema manually.
    Is it really impossible to create OR schema from DTD automatically?

    Yes. You need to create your database schema before insert XML data to it.

  • Getting one character at a certain position from a string array

    Hi, i'm new at learning java, but have strong experience at C++ and asm. How would i get one character at a certain positon from a string array.
    for example:
    String Phrases[] = {"To be or not to be, that is the question","The Simpsons","The Mole","Terminator three rise of the machines","The matrix"};
    that is my string array above.
    lets say i wanted to get the first character from the first element of the array which is "T", how would i get this

    ok well that didn't work, but i found getChars function can do what i want. One problem, how do i check the contents of char array defined as char Inchar[];

  • How to create an XML document from a String.

    Can anyone help,
         In the Microsoft XML Document DOM there is a load function load(string) which will create an XML document, but now we are switching to Java and I do not know how to create and XML document from a string, this string xml document is passed to my program from a webservice and I need to read several xml elements form it in a web server.
    This string is a well formatted XML document:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Countries NumberOfRecords="1" LanguageID="en-us">
         <Country>
              <CountryCode>AU</CountryCode>
              <CountryName>AUSTRALIA</CountryName>
         </Country>
    </Countries>

    Thanks PC!
    I made it work using:
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    factory.setIgnoringComments(true); // We want to ignore comments
    // Now use the factory to create a DOM parser
    DocumentBuilder parser = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    //TransformThisStringBuffer is a string buffer wich contain the 'XML document (String)'
    InputStream in = new ByteArrayInputStream(TransformThisStringBuffer.toString().getBytes());
    // Parse the InputStream and build the document
    Document document = parser.parse(in);
    But which one is faster InputSource or InputStream, were would you put the "new InputSource(new StringReader(yourString))" in the above code?

    Looks like you might have a spelling error in your spring config, or are trying to set a read-only property. BdasInterfaceManagerImpl has been configured as having a method called setBdasInterfaceJdbcDao() : does it?
    By the way, we now know that you're writing code for JP Morgan - there's a slight risk that this could bite you in the @ss at some point (there are some malicious people around) you might want to take that into consideration next time!

    Please don't post the same question multiple times. It leads to people wasting their time duplicating each others' answers, and makes for a fractured discussion.

  • Can we create objects with interface

    can we create objects with interface,if yes then where we implement the

    can we create objects with interface,if yes then where we implement the

    Objects are created with classes, not interfaces, which are abstract.
    can we type cast any object with inerface kind of object,if yes what kind
    of objects we can type cast
    Objects may be cast to interfaces, but only if an object's class or one of its superclasses actually implements the interface.

  • Is it posible to create objects with different names dinamically?

    Hi,
    I'm creating an app that manages different wireless nodes in a network and I was thinking that I could create a class called Node which would have a constructor that every time I created an object Node, I would pass the address and some other data about the Node and the constructor will save all that data and also create a unique ID for every Node object.
    Now the problem is that I need to be able to discover all the nodes in my network every time the user clicks a Ping button. So every time the users clicks Ping I need to do a ping and create as many Node objects as nodes I have in my network. The thing is I don't know how to make it create the node objects with different names so after I've created all the nodes objects I can refer to one of them.
    Something like this.
    int Id=0;
    id++;
    Node node+Id = new Node();
    I think its not possible to do something like that. If it isn't how can I do to refer to one of the objects I've created?
    Thanks.

    Thanks to both of you. I'll check out the Link and if I can't find the solution there I'll make the array , I don't know how I didn't think about doing that. There are two collections you should study specifically:
    First you have the ArrayList which in essense is a growable array. This means you don't have to decide in advance how big it can be.
    Second there's the HashMap. It's sometimes called an associate array. Such an array doesn't have fixed position indexes like an ordinary array. Instead each index (called key) is associated with a value but the keys don't have any particular order. Still, given a certain key, finding the corresponding value in a HashMap is almost as fast as an array access.

  • Funky sync? many new groups with names from Notes field created

    I've got a client using Tiger on a G5 iMac, and syncing both with dot mac to a PowerBook, and using PocketMac to a Blackberry (don't get me started about PocketMac and Blackberries.)
    Anyway, I figure a sync caused this: today she opened Address Book and about 50 groups with names taken from her Notes field were there (things like "christmas card"). Some of these groups have cards in them, some don't. We had to restore from a backup. We use Backup, and I hope it's smart enough to take care of the sync stuff in the truth database when the next sync happens. I had Backup do a Restore of the entire ~Library/Application Support/Address Book folder.
    Anybody seen this before? I'd like to prevent it happening again. Also if there are other files that Backup needs to be told to Restore in case this comes up again, I'd appreciate knowing about that, too.
    Thanks!

    By anychance did you or your wife use any forwarding options under mobile me.

  • Object/variable name from unknown input

    Hello,
    Suppose that a program reads data from a file and collects name/address/telephone information. The file contains first-time information and updates. For example a portion of the file could be:
    John, 123 Some Ave, 555-1212
    Paul, 234 Another Blvd, 555-1234
    John, 123 Some Ave, 555-9876
    Meaning that John changed his phone number from the first one to the second one.
    I thought of creating a person class so that I'd end up with something like this:
    person John
    - string address = "123 Some Ave"
    - int telephone = 5551212
    but that created all sorts of problems.
    What's the best way to manage a situation like this where you create and update data from a source? I used a file as an example, but it could be user input or whatever.
    I just started learning Java a few days ago, so bear with me ;-)
    Many thanks in advance!

    1) How to name the object when I create it.
    person whatever_the_file_says = new person();You don't need to. You should be storing you objects in an array or a Collection.
    array[index] = new Person(....); // array
    list.add(new Person(....));  // ArrayList
    2) How to search if an object by that name already exists.You would iterate over your array and compare each object with your new data. If you use a collection then you need to give Person class an equals method and use contains().
    3) Update existing objects.
    whatever_the_file_says.telephone = new_valueYour Person class needs to have the appropriate setter method.
