Creating PL/SQL webservices in Workshop

Hi,
I am very new to workshop. In jdeveloper we can able to create a PL/SQL webservice.
Is it possible to create a PL/SQL webservice Workshop?
If so, Please let me know the steps & documentation.
Please help me.
Regards,
Latha

Hallo again,
Asking the question the other way round.
Is it possible to use the "PL/SQL WebService Assistance" of JDeveloper as some kind of command line tool (like JPublisher)?
Some background information:
We work a lot with PL/SQL and Generation of PL/SQL code. The final product should be some WebServices that will be driven by the PL/SQL packages. To facilitate the creation of WebServices we search for some solution to generate such PL/SQL WebServices. JDeveloper in the Version 11 offers here a very cool and uptodate tool the "PL/SQL WebService Assistance" - but is it possible to use this assistent for "Generation" of WebServices? Could we use some JDeveloper APIs to "remote" controll this feature.
Thx a lot for every hint,
Willi

  • Scalability Issues for Creating Pl/sql Web Services

While Creating Pl/Sql Web Services , jdeveloper automatically creates wrappers files for the same, When using complex types for pl/sql Procedures, the wrappers contain huge no of attributes , Will there be a scalability issue for such kind of complex PL/SQL API Web services, will there be a round trips to database in order to map the attributes of java wrapper files with the Pl/SQL API files
Also there is something called as Public View Object VO, how different it is from the normal View Object,is there a specific way to create Public View Object and XSD file for that, or its just a normal VO exposed publicly?

  • PL/SQL Webservice in jdeveloper 10.1.3.2.0

    Hi
I am very new to Creating Web Services. As I got a requirement to develop a Web Service using PL/SQL.
I have gone the posting but could not able to find a document which will give me step by step instructions to create and deploy and test the PL/SQL Webservice.
Could any body help me out in this regard.

  • [APEX 4.0] Create PL/SQL API

In the SQL Workshop I noticed the "Create PL/SQL API" in the bottom right corner. But when trying to create it, I can't select a table, althouhg my schema has several tables. Why is this not working? Otherwise explain what this API creation does in APEX...

    Hello,
This is the same functionality as in APEX 3.x if you go to SQL Workshop > Object Browser > Create button > Package
There you find "Package with methods on database table(s)" which generates insert, update, delete procedures and the md5 checksums. It's very handy as a starting place for your own packages.
If something doesn't work in APEX 4.0 you can log it as Feedback. You can also search existing feedback.

  • 11g preview version 3: JNDI Lookup problem when calling PL/SQL webservice

    Hi,
I am experiencing a problem when calling a PL/SQL Webservice from a BPEL flow.
When I am trying to test my BPEL flow from the SOA Console I get a "Error doing JNDI lookup on target jdbc/MyDBDS"
The composite application including the BPEL flow is deployed in one application. "CompositeApp" and the web service in another Application called
    "WebServiceApp".
Both applications are deployed on the same built in OC4J Application Server
If I test the webservice in isolation from the SOA console it works. It also seems to be working if the webservice and the and the BPEL flow is in the same project.
If anyone has any ideas on this one I would be very greatful.
    Thanks in advance

try creating the MyDBDS connection as an application resource in both applications.

  • Pl/sql webservice

    Hello,
I would like to publish a pl/sql package as webservice. Let's say using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3. Generation is fine, I can compile my project and it runs perfectly with OC4J. I deploy the project into a war and try to deploy it to a Sun Application server 9. That is when all hell breaks loose.
    - I have to change the urlpattern in the web.xml, it needs a slash
    - the server said namingconflict. I found that the <service-interface> and the <service-endpoint-interface> tags point to the same name in the java-wsdl-mapping file so I changed the service-interface tag by removing the package name
Still I cannot deploy the war and I find the following in the server log:
    [#|2008-11-07T09:45:23.249+0100|INFO|sun-appserver9.1|javax.enterprise.system.stream.out|_ThreadID=32;_ThreadName=Thread-107993;|
    C:\Sun\SDK\domains\domain1\generated\ejb\j2ee-modules\Application2-Project1-context-root\f10\MyWebService1_Tie.java:34: cannot find symbol
    symbol : class MyWebService1_SerializerRegistry
    location: class f10.MyWebService1_Tie
    super(new MyWebService1_SerializerRegistry().getRegistry());
    ^
    |#]
I guess the server is looking for something which should be there according to the jax-rpc spec, but maybe JDeveloper does not generate it. I am totally out of ideas. Anyone? BTW, I have downloaded 11g but actually it is worse than the old one. It cannot compile the code it generates from the same pl/sql package.
    Regards,
    Krisztian

Finally figured it out. If you generate pl/sql webservices and you want to deploy them to a Sun Application server, you have to change 2 things:
    - in web.xml change the urlpattern to start with a slash
    - in the java-wsdl-mapping file change the <service-interface> tag contents, add Service to the end of the interface name (package.interface -> package.interfaceService

I am able to create the above types in oracle and used in PL/SQL packages. And like this I have somany types. I would like to if I can create a package with the types to make the life easier. Could you please tell me how to do it.

When used correctly types can be the simplest solution.
For example when passing multiple values to a stored procedure. Avoiding the type in the below example would lead to further complexity and aggravation not lessen it.
SQL> create or replace procedure p

  • Creating PL/SQL package in SQL Developer 4.0.0.12

    Hi,
I have built a model in SQL Developer 4.0.0.12 and I want to create it's PL/SQL package.
In ODMiner 11.1.0.4 from "Tools" > "Create pl/sql package" I can get a script for creating package and every thing is OK.
but in SQL Developer I select "Deploy" from every node's context menu and it generates a folder containing some scripts related to every node. I don't see any relevant script for creating any package.
How can I create relevant PL/SQL package from my workflow?
Thank you for any help you can provide in this situation.

  • How to get cm:search to use the max attribute when creating the SQL query?

When we use the max attribute in the cm:search tag, it does not seem to honor the max attribute when creating the SQL query. However, the result returned from the tag is limited to the number specified by the max attribute. Then the tag seems to work as intended, but the performance will be sub optimal when the SQL query returns unnecessary rows to the application.
We use the cm:search tag to list the latest news (ordered by date), and with the current implementation we have to expect a decrease in performance over time as more news is published. But we can’t live with that. We need to do the constraint in the SQL query, not in the application.
The sortBy attribute of cm:search is translated to “order by” in the SQL query, as expected.
Is it possible to get cm:search to generate the SQL query with an addition of “where rownum <= maxRows”?

    Hi Erik,
The behavior of a repository in regards to the search tag's max results parameter is dependent on the underlying repository's implementation. That said, the OOTB repository in WLP does augment the generated SQL to limit the number of rows returned from the database. This is done in the parsing logic. This behavior may differ with other repository implementations.

    Hi,
Could you re-try publication, running jdevw.exe instead of jdev.exe, please? This will send some extra information to a console.
I have a feeling something may be going wrong when JPublisher and SQLJ is invoked by the generator, and they both print out errors and warnings to the console. Post the information from the console here and we'll be able to figure out what's going wrong.
    Thanks,
    Alan.

  • How to create a sql server database in SQL DEVELOPER.

I installed the SQL DEVELOPER 1.5.5, but i can't found where to create the sql server database in it. please kindly tell me if you feel free.
    Thanks so much in advance.

    Hi,
Take a look at the main [ SQL Developer page on OTN|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/sql_developer/index.html]. There is a link you should find useful, it's the Getting Started link under the Migration section. This explains how to download and setup the drivers you need to correct to non-Oracle databases. There are also links to online demonstrations on how to create connections to these databases. See how you go with that material.
    It should help.

  • Help with creating a sql file that will capture any database table changes.

We are in the process of creating DROP/Create tables, and using exp/imp data into the tables (the data is in flat files).
Our client is bit curious to work with. They do the alterations to their database (change the layout, change the datatype, drops tables) without our knowing. This has created a hell lot of issues with us.
Is there a way that we can create a sql script which can capture any table changes on the database, so that when the client trys to execute imp batch file, the sql file should first check to see if any changes are made. If made, then it should stop execution and give an error message.
Any help/suggestions would be highly appreciable.
    Thanks,

    Just to clarify...
    1. DDL commands are like CREATE, DROP, ALTER. (These are different than DML commands - INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE).
    2. The DDL trigger is created at the database level, not on each table. You only need one DDL trigger.
    3. You can choose the DDL commands for which you want the trigger to fire (probably, you'll want CREATE, DROP, ALTER, at a minimum).
    4. The DDL trigger only fires when one of these DDL commands is run.
Whether you have 50 tables or 50,000 tables is not significant to performance in this context.
What's signficant is how often you'll be executing the DDL commands on which the trigger is set to fire and whether the DDL commands execute in acceptable time with the trigger in place.
