Creating users in Microsoft Active Directory 2000/2003 with password.

Our BSP application is using LDAP_CREATE function module to create users in Microsoft AD 2000 and 2003. But the users are not created along with passwords. without passwords the users are created in disabled mode.
We tried using the SAP provided function modules under function group SLDAP to create the entries. We are able to create accounts on MSADS but only without the password. We find that MSADS requires the password to be passed/sent as a bytecode array (SAP equivalent Xstring/Rawstring ?) under the attribute unicodePwd, which we did using the fn. module LDAP_CREATE.
But the server returns an error code LDAPRC053 which translates to "Unable to execute operation on the server".
We generate the password string and convert the same into an xstring using SCMS_TEXT_TO_XSTRING function module.
We are not sure what we are missing, but the account does not get created with the password at all. Would appreciate if you can help.
We do have a backup solution of creating the users offline, but I want persue in above mentioned direction. Anybody has resolved this issue? Please let me know.

I'm suspecting it has something to do with calling the function over an open connection versus a secure connection, SSL on port 636.

Create a User account in active directory from SharePoint online 2013 list data

Hello,
I am trying to create a SharePoint list through which i can create a user account into active directory,
1 - HR is sending the detail in the email body to a Specific email address ([email protected]) like below..
First Name: XYZ
Last Name: ABC
Address: ABC 123
Designation: Analyst
Employee ID: 10492
and so on
2 - I need to pickup every new email data of the above section into sharepoint list (in Column)
First Name Last Name Address Designation Employee ID
3 - I want to create a event receiver through which i can go ahead and find the new data in the list and then create a user in the active directory,
I tried very hard and since i dont have much experience in coding part, any help will be highly appreciated

ODI Integration With Microsoft Active Directory to bring User id to Table

Hi All,
I have to bring the USER Id of Employees from the Microsoft Active Directory based on the Mai id of the user.
I have a table like below:
User_name
Mail_id
Vishwas
[email protected]
John
[email protected]
Depak
[email protected]
I need to bring the User id of that employees from Active Directory and load it to another table
Now the Issues is What are the Things i have to perform in ODI to do this:
I have gone through some of the Blogs for the same but every where i found using ODI for External Authentication.
Can i get the User Ids in a relational tables so that i can join it with above table and load it to target ?
Please let me know if any body have the solution for it

SSO (single sign on) on NetWeaver 7.0 Enterprise Portal based on spnego with Microsoft Active Directory

we are using SAP Netweaver Enterprise Portal 7.0 (SP25) based on Windows 2008 R2/Oracle 11g.
When we setup the Portal, we used the UME of the ECC - ABAP.
The portal is used internally only.
Now we want to provide SSO.
User authenticate against Windows Active Directory (Windows 2003).
We thought SSO via spnego would be the best solution.
Any better alternates, we should use?

We still want to create users in ABAP and assign them the portal roles. LDAP access should only have read access, to verify the security token from Active Directory.
When we setup the portal from scratch using ABAP as its UME, in the system configuration, LDAP can't be selected/add as data source.
In case we understand the documentation correctly, we would now need to add LDAP via the configtool for read access.
What is not clear to us, when we active now LDAP via config tool, if we would now lose the ABAP connection.
Is there a tutorial for SSO Netweaver 7.0 EP, like for EP 7.3, available?
In 7.3 SSO is pretty simple to get it running, thanks to the many tutorials here and on the internet.

Hi,
I was able to generate the key via ktab program.
But when I am enable SSO, nothing is happening when I try to log-on via SSO to the portal.
I installed WebDiag tool on the portal server and ran trace.
The users are located in domain: company.com of activate directory.
The Java AS are located in domain: sap.company.com of activate directory.
The sap.company.com domain acts as child of company.com.
When I check the WebDiag trace, I see for the SPNegoLoginModule - the entry "... no key (etype: 23) for realm sap.company.com available ..."
I would except company.com as realm key, as the keytabs have been generated on the domain controller of company.com.
Is it possible to get SSO with child domain running?
Based on the statement of the network folks, child and father domain having a trust.

What is involved in going from local user accounts to active directory accounts with CCM 9.1.2?

We are currently using local user accounts with CUCM 9.1.2 and are looking at integrating it into the active directory structure.
We do utilize the same structure for user ID's.
I am looking to find out what the changeover will entail and if anything else needs to be done prior to the integration.
We also have Unity syncing up with CUCM for users as well as Contact Center sync'ed up for our ACD system.

Hey Mike,
The process is pretty straight forward. CUCM 9.X supports the coexistence of AD integrated users and local users so you don't have to worry about local accounts disappearing if they don't have an AD account. The biggest thing to watch out for is that if you decide to revert back for whatever reason then the accounts that were in AD will be marked for deletion (from the CUCM, not AD) and will be removed after approximately 24 hours.
I recommend the following if you'd like to move to AD.
Run a DRS backup of CUCM. This is not necessary for the integration but is good practice in my opinion. I'd also do a full export of your users using the BAT so you can reimport users to how they were before the integration should you decide to revert for any reason.
Determine if you want to put the user's extensions in the telephonenumber field or ipPhone field in AD. Once you make a decision, I recommend populating that information in AD so it is available when you do the integration.
Make sure your local CUCM user accounts usernames are exactly the same as your domain accounts. That way when you do the integration the local users become AD users and keep all of their phone associations, group memberships, etc. If you need to change the usernames then be sure to notify your users ahead of time so they can start logging into UCCX or UCM user pages, etc. using their new username.
Create an account in AD that has read-only rights to your directory. Set the password to never expire. You will use this account later for the integration.
In CUCM, go into Serviceability and make sure the "Cisco DirSync" service is activated on the Publisher server.
Also in CUCM, navigate to the administration page and do the following:
Go to System > LDAP > LDAP System and Check the box to enable Synchronizing. Confirm the LDAP server type and attribute for User ID is accurate. This is typically Microsoft Active Directory and sAMAccountName respectively.
Go to System > LDAP > LDAP Directory
Click Add New
Give it a name (whatever you want).
Put in the Distinguished Name of the AD integration account you created earlier. For example, if you created an account called ciscoldap in the Service Accounts OU in the abc.com domain then it would look something like this... CN=ciscoldap,OU=Service Accounts,DC=abc,DC=com
Enter the password for the account.
Enter the search base. This can be a specific OU where your users exist, a parent OU which contains other OUs which contain all of your users or the entire domain. If you do the entire domain then in the abc.com example you would specify DC=abc,DC=com.
Select the option to perform a sync with AD on periodic intervals. The lowest interval you can set is every 6 hours.
Select either the telephonenumber or ipPhone field to be used for the user's extensions. This will be whatever you decided and populated in AD in an earlier step.
Add your primary and any backup domain controllers and ports. If they are just domain controllers and you are not using SSL then specify port 389. If they are also global catalog servers then you can do port 3268.
Click Save and Click the "Perform Full Sync Now" button.
I recommend that you also use LDAP for authentication as well so you only have one username and password to remember which is all controlled by AD. To add this do the following:Go to System > LDAP > LDAP Authentication.
Click Add New
Check the box to use LDAP Authentication
Add the same Distinguished name, passwords and user seach base that you used for your integration account earlier under the synchronization section. Also add the same primary and secondary LDAP servers and ports you used earlier.
Click Save
You can go a step further and create a filter to only pull in the users within the search base you specified and apply that. For example, maybe only pull in users that have their ipPhone field populated. Let me know if you have any questions on that or any of the above.

Integrating Oracle Portal & Microsoft Active Directory

Dear friends
I Integrated Oracle Portal & Microsoft Active Directory without any error or problems but it just integrate the users under Users Container in active directory, I have some OU,Groups and policies and I categorized my users under them, so when I run "sh oidspadi.sh" and set "cn=...." with other values except "Users" it can not add all of the users under specific groups or policies.
Please let me know how can I add all of my users in active directory to OID?

I'm not familiar with iPlanet, but if it can allow basic
authentication and connect to AD, it should be possible to do what
you want.
Personally, I would rather that the browser did not
automatically log me in. For example, if someone was having
problems with their "view" on the intranet web site, if they
visited your office, you would have to log off, let them log on
(and wait while their profile was created) just to let them open a
browser.
Is it really asking too much for them to enter their
username/password into a browser prompt once each day? Heck, most
browsers will remember usernames and passwords so you don't have to
type it. You just click OK.
That's just my perspective.

I can login with the these AD users and AD direct import is working just fine. We are not using UPS.
With admin user when I click on the user it shows up proper data. But when I login with the same user it does not show me userdisplay/useredit and shows blank data. Also another strange thing is when I add new item in list with these AD users created by
modified by is blank and its really strange. I checked user information list, tried to rerun user sync with direct AD import option but no success.

Hi Amit,
According to your description, my understanding is that the page is blank when the use accessed /_layouts/15/userdisp.aspx and the created by field was blank when the user created a new list item in SharePoint 2013.
I tested the same scenario per your post, however I cannot reproduce your issue.
For troubleshooting this issue, I recommend to verify the things below:
Check the permission of the user in the corresponding site collection to see if he can access /_layouts/15/userdisp.aspx.
Delete the user from AD and SharePoint, then re-add the user to AD and grant proper permission to the user in SharePoint to see if the issue still occurs.
Did this issue occur with all the users? Add a new user in AD and test the same scenario.

Creating group dynamically in active directory depending on their role

Hi,
I have sycn oid and active directory using directory integration platform. Now the scenario is We have one system says hr system which take care of entering all the user information. Once it submit that information it goes to oid. Now we want that when we import all that user from oid to active directory it didn't duplicate any user as well as depending on their role it should create groups dynamically in active directory. For e.g: If user belong to Trainee category or manager category it must create Trainee group & Manager group & respective person should go into that group. I don't know whether my question is placed in right group or not. I am using filter to do this task but not able to write proper condition in "source matching filter" and "destination matching rule". Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks Tamim. To clear your thought, i will explain again. I have sync oid and active directory through Directory integration platform. I have created user in oid.(cn=users,dc=mycompany,dc=com). It get sync in active directory properly. Now i have created two group in active directory say for e.g Trainees and Manager. There is a field name position in oid which is a custom attribute. When i fill the information of user in oid, I have to fill "Position" attribute also. So my question is that, if i fill Trainee as a value in Position attribute and click on submit it should go in Trainee Group In active directory and not in user group. Same for manager. How can we achieve this? Can we do it through filter? Or any other way? It's needed desperately. Please help me in resolving this issue.

Problem Creating Oracle Schema in Active Directory

Hi,
I am trying to integrate oracle 9i in an Microsoft Active directory domain
I tried to integrate the db in the domain using net configuration assistant on the Oracle Client but
I get always the same error after inserting the fully name of domain controller and confirm to create the oracle schema. The error I get is:
“The Assistant is unable to create or update
the schema for the following reason:
ConfigException: Could not create Oracle schema oracle.net.config.ConfigException
You must update the schema from a computer which directly supports
your type of directory."
Also I checked every requirement to install:
-Log on as an Administrative account in the domain
-Enable active directory schema changes
-ping the whole dns domain, the fqdn of my domain controller is dc.ecm.com, I can:
ping dc.ecm.oracle
At this point I don’t know anymore what I can do.

How to use Powershell to update user details in Active Directory?

Hi,
I received an updated contact list from HR of about 1500 names, and I want to update (make corrections and add missing data) ADUC quickly without having to do each user manually. How would I go about that using power-shell?
The fields that need updating are:
Under the General tab -> Description, Telephone number
Everything under the Address tab
Under the Telephone tab - > Mobile
Under the Organization tab -> Job Title, Department, Company, Manager
The server we're using is Windows Server 2008 R2.

Portal Integration with Microsoft Active Directory

We are working on a project to integrate Oracle9iAS Portal with Microsoft Active Directory. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this and hence suggestions. Particularly, I'm wondering if its possible and how to use Active Directory to manage the Portal user accounts and group relationships?

Please note that we finally got this working. For Active Directories sake, I would suggest using userPrincipalName or sAMAccountName as the Unique Attribute. Also, note that Active Directory uses OUs for organization, not CNs, so the search base should be either just the DN of the domain or an OU in the domain. Also, be sure to specify the full DN of the Bind DN as in CN=Administrator,CN=Users,DN=domain,DN=com

Oracle account and microsoft active directory password synchronisation

We are migrating our application to use windows active directory authentication. We have separate oracle account for
each logged in user in the application, and these oracle credentials have to be the same as the windows active directory
credentials.
Also, a password change on windows Active directory should change the oracle account password.
Is there a tool available to manage and synchronize the microsoft active directory and oracle account.
We use oracle 10g and application is hosted on Windows 2008 server.
