Creation of Remote Partition DB: datasource with ID does not exist in the collection

Hi,
I tried to create remote partitioned DB. Followed the below link to create it.

In 'partition Type selection' wizard, I selected the remote data source and landed in below error.
'datasource' with 'ID' = 'XXXX' doesn't exist in the collection
Can some one help me to resolve it?

right?
As you can see on that link,
If you get an error indicating the data source does not exist in the collection, you must open the project of the storage database, db-storage, and create a data source that points to the master database, db-master.
So in your scenario, please open the project of the storage database, db-storage, and create a data source that points to the master database, db-master. And then check if this issue persists or not. Besides, please ensure that all the prerequisites had
been done in your environment and the configuration steps are correct.

One of my customers (using ssas 2012) is facing collation issues which result in missing facts in the cubes. I suggested them to have a look at the Analysis Server Properties. Howevere, on selection of the Analysis Services Properties page 'Language-Collation',
it doesn't open the page showing the properties, but instead the following message pops up:
'ServerProperty' with 'Name' = 'Language' does not exist in the collection
Any ideas on what could have caused this and how it can be fixed ?
We're considereing a restart of the SSAS server, but need to be very carefull because it's their production environment.

I am also experiencing this error when clicking on the Language/Collation page of the Analysis Services Properties dialog.
I suspect this is causing some other strange behavior such as an "invalid characters in hierarchy names" error when deploying an SSAS database, when the same solution/project can be deployed successfully from other machines. In that case, there are parenthesis
in the attribute name but no user-defined hierarchies. Error:
Errors in the metadata manager. The name, 'Project ID (Description)', for the cube hierarchy is not valid because this name is a reserved word, contains one or more invalid characters (.,;'`:/\*|?"&%$!+=()[]{}<>), or is longer than 100 characters.
I would like to avoid having to re-install SSAS if at all possible. Any help is much appreciated.

Windows Server 2008R2 running Remote Desktop Services reports printer process does not exist when installing PDF printer, And when Installing network printers from the domain controller it reports it cannot connect to printer. I can ping all
network devices. I can connect to the internet.
On boot I get a netlogon 5719 error followed by service control manager errors 7023,7001 and a group policy error 1129.
Clients can connect to the remote application and RDP operates to connect to the server internally and externally.
The domain controller is another server 2008r2 box. I have scoured the internet but have not found any solutions that work yet.

After referring to your post, it can be identified that the issue which you are facing is mostly due to some network issue in your environment. Please recheck your network connection issue between computer and domain controller.
Can you able to ping with IP address and also with fully qualified name of a domain controller in the users' and computers' domain. If it fails states that name resolution issue with computer and domain controller. Are you using MS DHCP Relay agent then there’s
available Hotfix for the particular Event ID. Please go through this KB 2459530 to fix the error event ID.
As per the net logon error 5719 which you are facing states that the client component of Netlogon was unable to locate a DC for the domain it was trying to perform an operation against. Below is one of the reason. If this is being logged on a DC and the event
refers to the DC's own domain, something might be preventing the client component of Netlogon from starting a network session (to itself or to another DC in the domain). The following event 7001 & 7023 states start & stop operation service. Please
go through beneath article for more details.

XI datasources function modules does not exist after BW upgrade to 7.3

We have recently upgraded our dev BI system to 7.3
During our testing phase we found that we are unable to load data coming from XI system.
When we checked the functional modules of the XI(web services)
datasources we found that the function modules does not exist in the system.
Eg : For our GECARS datasource we have 2 funcitonal modules
1. /BIO/QI6AZXH_ZIFIGECARS
2. /BIO/QI6AZXH_ZIFIGECARS_RFC (delta function module)
we have activated resp datasource and found that code for
/BIO/QI6AZXH_ZIFIGECARS exist now but we are facing issues with RFC
funciton modules (/BIO/QI6AZXH_ZIFIGECARS_RFC )
To put it in simple terms we are facing issues with Dev BI since upgradeto 7.3 with respect to RFC and non-availability of function modules.
Kindly help us in resolving this.

Have you found the reason for the non existence of the FM in the system after the upgrade?
Have you found any alternative? I hope you would have created an OSS message, if so whats the response have you got?
Kindly let me know as I am experiencing similar issue where one of the FM (RSDRC_MULTIPROV_GET_MAPPING) does not exist in BI system after the upgrade.

I uploaded rpt success, however, after I add IReportLogon to add user/password. I got an error.

when i moved crystal reprts from our Crystal server to the new BOBJ (BOExi3.1) Server and on DB configuration for all the reports i used the DB defaults that comes with the Report.
Problem when i try to run locally or run from the enterprise login it works perfect, but when i try to run the report from the Infoview it says Database Information is either Incorrect or Incomplete.
and also when i goto report and change the DB configuration it throws this error as
"The property with ID SI_DELTA_METAINFO does not exist in the object".
Please throw some light on the above error as i need to make it available for our end-users ASAP.

We are accessing the BO reports through front End web application using WEBI. We are using BO Java SDK on the application for this purpose.
Some of our users (APAC region) has started getting the error while accessing the reports from web application. Here are the error:

what version of Enterprise is this? XI 3.1, Bi 4.0? Also what version pack are you running. I am asusming that APJ and EMEA\AMER users try to hit the same web\app server\ BOE, same application and access same reports. What kind of authentication you use? Given everything else is same it's got to be security issue? Does APJ users are part of a different group in your 3rd party auth server such as LDAP or AD?

iCloud will not sycn a calendar from an external source. In order to use iCloud to sync it, you would have to move it to iCloud and stop using Google. I know how to do that on a Mac, but I'm not sure how to do it on a PC. If you're using Outlook, I suspect you export it as an .ics file to your desktop, then import it to the iCloud account in Outlook. I'm sure you could use Google to find the specific steps.
However, there's really no reason not to just use Google to sync your calendar across your devices. Instead, just continue to use Goole calendar on all your devices and they should stay in sync. Take a look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0Jj0KFgbYI.

Powershell import-spweb fails with "parent does not exist" error.

So, I have a sp 2010 site at http://myfarm/sites/it/d22 and I want to copy the contents to
http://myfarm/sites/bb/d62 .
I perform
Export-SPWeb -Identity http://myfarm/sites/it/d22  -Path d:\temp\d22
-IncludeUserSecurity –IncludeVersions All -NoFileCompression –Verbose
and then I perform
import-spweb -identity http://myfarm/sites/bb/d62 -path d:\temp\d22   -includeusersecurity -nofilecompression -verbose -force
It runs for 4-5 minutes and then produces the error:

Of course bb/d22/ADMIN does not exist - d22 exists under sites/it . And Admin should be part of the export of d22 that should be created if the process completes.

This error is not helpful and for us the problem was permission related. We had used users (albeit domain admin accounts) to export and import the data that were different from the site collection administrators. To fix we had to do the following:
Make sure the site collection administrator is the same on both the source and destination servers.
When running the export and import, make sure you are running the stsadm commands as the site collection administrator. This ensures the permissions are aligned and the import should work.
stsadm Import error: The 'ASPXPageIndexMode' attribute is not declared
Not sure what the cause of this error is, but we found a fix online:
To get round it I edited C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\XML\DeploymentManifest.xsd on the destination server:

I recently bought a mac book air (mid 2013) and the power adapter that came with it does not fit into the port.

Firefox v28 will not launch yahoo and yahoo email often hangs. the problems started with v28, does not even load the homepage in the addr bar on startup.

i set yahoo mail as a homepage.
start firefox v28 and the screen goes blank, nothing shows in the addr bar and it just sits with
the spinning green icon. no problems until i moved to v28. i often have issues with flash player
hanging and created a dos bat file to kill it but that is not what seems to be happening with yahoo. pretty much everything else works. FF freezes but killing the plug in releases it. the newer versions
of FF seem more flakey than the older ones. thanks for your help

How do you kill the Flash player plugin using a BAT file -- are you killing an Adobe Flash exe or Firefox's plugin-container.exe?
You can start up Firefox to a blank page using the Run box on the Start menu, with this:
firefox.exe "about:blank"
Hopefully that will at least get you in. Then, for Yahoo mail, make sure to access your mailbox through the Yahoo home page (or AT&T Yahoo home page, etc., as the case may be). And:
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

To rule out extensions as a possible culprit, could you try the site in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions, some advanced features, and some custom settings. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
* Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Note: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox closes, a small dialog should appear: click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)

Business partner with GUID does not exist

We're trying to replicate a customer from R/3 to CRM. We keep getting this error. It appears it';s trying to update the partner and since it doesnt exist in CRM, this message pops up. We're using R3AR2-4 to define and start the request to pull the data across. Is there a way to send the customer as a create and not an update?

Hello James,
To load individual objects you're better to use requests. A request is a 'mini' initial load but you can define the filters in the request itself. This avoids mistakes (wrong filter -> complete initial load!) and downtime (when filters are set and people are working no data is exchanged!).
To create a request
R3AR2
Request name: free to choose
Adapter object: BUPA_MAIN
-> Detail
Table name: BUT000
Fieldname: PARTNER (for number, for guid PARTNER_GUID)
Option: EQ
Low: Number or guid
To start the created request:
R3AR4
Enter the request name from step 1
(Monitor request)
R3AM1
Object name BUPA_MAIN
Much easier than an initial load!!!!
P.S You can also check CRMM_BUPA_MAP to synchronize a single partner which is even more easier!

Expoerted the file to IDML.
Opened the IDML file and saved it as an ID file.

is it possible to connect to a remote computer as, for example John, if user account John does not exist on the remote computer but is listed in .rhosts?
this is what i have written in .rhosts on the remote computer ( Work ):
home root
home John
when I connect as root:
rlogin -l root Work
everythings fine, but when I try to connect as John I get the incorrect login message
I know the message above probably answers my question, but I want to be sure

If the user id exists, you can bypass the authentication with .rhosts or /etc/hosts.equiv files; but you can't login to a remote machine as an anonymous user.
