Hi, ive written out how i want the classifier to work with regards to authorship attrbution, but im having trouble translating it into java since im new to this language and havent really done any programming before. This may not make sense as a classifier but its how i want my program to work. There's a training text file (a list of 300 words taken from the text of an author), and two author text files (two files with 50 words in each, these words r distinguishing words of the authors). Can you help??
PART 1
For each author distinguisher set, For total number of distinguisher words in each training text, For each author's distinguisher words, If word same as training text word, add to token set, otherwise ignore Return token out
For each token count Divide number of words in token count by number of words in author distinguisher set (store value!)
PART 2
For each author dstinguisher set, Divide the number of words that appear in training set by total number of words in distinguisher set (store value!)
PART 3
Divide number of words in training set that appear in author distinguisher set by the total number of words in the training set (store value!)
PART 4
(VALUE FROM PART 1 * VALUE FROM PART 2) / VALUE FROM PART 3

a pretty challenging assignment for someone that is new to the language. most new kids get "hello world".
"trouble translating it" - what do you want? no one will write this for you. give it a try and post specific questions when they come up. if you can't do that, go drop the course. it sounds like you don't have the prerequisites.
when i read the descriptions, they write themselves:
1. read in the training text file and store it in memory in a data structure. do this once.
2. read in each of the author training files. if a word doesn't appear in the data structure, add it.
3. you'll need a data structure that will let you keep a running total of word count by word.
4. division - have they taught you that yet?
so - can you read a file? do you know any data structures that might be suitable? (hint: think Map)
break the problem up into smaller parts. can you read a file? can you break it up into words? do you know how to store those words? do you know how to keep a running total? solve each one and your problem will be solved.

Ringtonesx app. doesn't work for me - please help!

Ringtonesx seems like an amazing application (real songs covered, so you don't have to pay). But when I type in my email address to send the song, I never receive it. I've tried 3 different email addresses in hopes it will work. Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone help me fix this bug?

I tried looking up a number for the developer and came up with nothing? Nor could I find a support number. If anyone can find this for me, please post it here.
I do have the latest software for the iPhone 3GS. I updated it 2 days ago... and this app still doesn't work (so it's not the phone or software). I agree that if this can't be resolved, Apple should remove this application. It doesn't look good that there are apps like this out there (although, I know there are too many to go through).

I've noticed something that might be abnormal about the speakers on my iPhone 4S.
Could someone test this for me please? Go to ringtones, and play the 'bell tower' ringtone making sure your ringer volume is all the way up. Listen closly to the speaker, can you notice a slight crackling sound at parts?

So when you play the bell tower tone at full volume it sounds perfectly cripst and doesn't 'crackle' or distort a little bit because mine does.

First, I suggest you download
Microsoft Safety Scanner or
Malicious Software Removal Tool to run a full scan.
The error messages here seems to be caused by the corrupted registries, which related with the folder association.
You may take a try to merge the following registry settings to reset the folder association, before that, remember to backup your registry settings first:

Thanks Barney, I tried that but all that comes up in Spotlight are the log files that show the file paths! I don't know how Steam works. Are all the files held by Steam on their server perhaps?

I have not synconised my iPhone 5S or iPad 2 with iTunes for well over a year. I noticed the music which had previously been put into iTunes has dissappeared from my phone and iPad. I also want to remove some movies from my iPad and iPhone and there is no way I can do this without being able to manually sync with the Laptop which is running windows 7. Has anyone else come across this and please can you help? I am no expert in fact I know very little about the Laptop, it is my Husbands baby but he doesn't understand anything to do with Apple including iTunes. In Mail, one mailbox for Recovered Message (AOL) keeps showing 1 very large message that I cannot delete. How can I get rid of this recurring problem, please?

In Mail on iMac, successfully running OS X Lion, one mailbox on My Mac for "Recovered Messages (from AOL)" keeps showing 1 very large message (more than 20 Mb) that I just cannot seem to delete. Each time I go into my In Box, the "loading" symbol spins and the message appears in the "Recovered Messages" mailbox. How can I get rid of this recurrent file, please?
At the same time, I'm not receviving any new mails in my In Box, although, if I look at the same account on my MacBook Pro, I can indeed see the incoming mails (but on that machine I do not have the "recovery" problem).
The help of a clear-thinking Apple fan would be greatly appreciated.

I worked it out.
Unhide your hidden files ( I used a widget from http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/developer/hiddenfiles.html)
Go to your HD.
Go to Users.
Go to your House (home)
there should be a hidden Library folder there (it will be transparent)
Go to Mail in this folder
The next folder ( for me ) is V2
Click on that and the next one will be a whole list of your mail servers, and one folder called Mailboxes
Click on that and there should be a folder called recovered messages (server) . mbox
Click on that there a random numbered/lettered folder -> data
In that data folder is a list of random numbered folders (i.e a folder called 2, one called 9 etc) and in EACH of these, another numbered folder, and then a folder called messages.
In the messages folder delete all of the ebmx (I think that's what they were from memory, sorry I forgot as I already deleted my trash after my golden moment).
This was GOLDEN for me. Reason being, when I went to delete my "recovered file" in mail, it would give me an error message " cannot delete 2500 files". I knew it was only 1 file so this was weird. Why 2500 files? Because if you click on the ebmx files like I did, hey presto, it turned out that they were ALL THE SAME MESSAGE = 2500 times. In each of those folders in the random numbers, in their related message folder.
Now remember - DONT delete the folder, make sure you have gone to the message folder, found all those pesky ebmx files and deleted THOSE, not the folder.
It worked for me. No restarting or anything. And recovered file. GONE.
Started receiving and syncing mail again. Woohoo.

this may happen on external drives if:
The external drive was hotpluged (removed) without going the correct "eject" way
The iTunes library (database) got corrupted
First Aid for external drive
Close iTunes
Unmount (eject) external drive the right way.
Mount drive again
Go to Workplace -> right click external drive -> choose "clean up" This will force the filesystem to rescan the file structure of the drive and rebuilding the file system table and journaling file.
After the tool shows "done" (could last some time depending on size of drive) restart iTunes
If your iTunes library is on your internal drive, this may happen
The system was not shoot down correct, e.g. "pulled the plug"
The iTunes library (database) got corrupted
First Aid for internal hard drive
Close iTunes
Reboot system
Go to Workplace -> right click external drive -> choose "clean up"
After the tool shows "done" (could last some time depending on size of drive)
Reboot system, restart iTunes
If none of the above fixes your problem, post here.

I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues changing your Apple ID. It is correct that if an email address has been used previously for an Apple ID, it can not be used for a different Apple ID, as noted in this article:
In most cases, your Apple ID is also the primary email address of your Apple ID account. You can change your Apple ID to any other email address you control, as long as it's not already in use as an Apple ID. If your email address ends with @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com, it's already an Apple ID.

If you are certain that the email in question has never been used for an Apple ID and you are having issues contacting Apple Support regarding this issue, you may want to make sure you are going through the Apple ID support channel on the following page:
