CRM 2013: Custom button to Open multiselect lookup with custom view

Hello Everyone,
Looking for your suggestions to implement the following requirement.
We want to implement a custom button on the sub grid of Custom Entity (Lets say, "PersonMapping"). The custom button should open another entity multi select lookup(Lets say, "Person"). Till here we could achieve by directly opening the
multi lookup url of the Person using "Window.showModelDialog". But in this lookup, we want to set our custom view as default view. Please suggest some solution to achieve this.

We have created our own button that calls an URL in a separate window. Here is some coding from the method CALLBACK~GET_BUTTONS which may inspirere you:

How can I create a custom button for opening a form?

I have a parent form having child forms. In my main form I want to create custom buttons for opening child forms. I want to use master-detail form but there are more than one child forms, and in master-detail form I can only create one detail form. So I will create a form based on a table and in that form I will call the child forms by custom buttons. Can I do that?

This can be easily done. First open up two instances of your Portal. In one window, you will need to go into your component you wish to link FROM. In the other window you will need to go into your component you wish to link TO. In the component you wish to link TO there will be a moduleid. Note this somewhere. Then, you will see an area that says: "Call Interface: Show". Click on this. (In the window you are linking to.). In this window, you will see a bunch of stuff. At the bottom you will see a URL call. This is the call you need to use. At the top, it explains each piece of the URL call. Just subsitute YOUR appropriate information into the URL call. In the form you wish to link FROM, create a button. Once you create this button, it will appear at the bottom, click on it and you will see an area to insert a Javascript. Click the onClick and insert:
//this is the variable you want to pass from one form to the other
get_field_name = getField(this.form,'COLUMN_NAME_IN_DATABASE');
//this is so you can open the "child" form

Custom button to open navigation menu + scripts?

I just tried to make a custom button to open/close the navigation menu. Is there a custom script available for this? Does anyone know if there are any free scripts available for download/import for Adobe Captivate? Is there a way to do it within Captivate without custom scripts?

Hi Steve,
No apologies, each app has its proper jargon, but wanted to be sure.
You do not need a script. Just point to your expand and collapse button in the Settings of the TOC. They will replace the tiny little double arrows that are the default icons. On the screenshot I highlighted that portion of the Settings, open the browse icon to point to your button.

Opening a file with custom FileDialog. (VERY URGENT)

hi everybody,
I have a problem and stuck. I have developed a MDI application that provides all function like open saved files, create new, edit and lots of other. It only opens, save ,edit etc the graphical diagrams inside JInternalFrames. I have an icon on my desktop when clicked opens this Application. Just like Editplus, Word or some other application when you click on the icon it opens that. Same way I have created such functionality.
Now instead of this I have created a custom FileDialogfrom which the user selects this application and is opened. Now I have small icon for this FileDialog on the desktop when opened gives the interface to select the files to be opened. My FileDialog just looks like the FileDialog but some more functionality and more components like JComboBox, Jlist, JtextField, JButtons etc. in it and have removed some of them. I am extending JDialog. But now my probelm is when you select a file and click open, it should open the selected file. How can I achive this functionality in my custom FileDialog as I am not extending FileDialog and as it is built in the FileDialog. How can I open the files with any extension in it's related application e.g .doc files to be opened in MicrosoftWord, .txt to be opened in notepad, .c or .cpp in Visual Studio C++ etc.
How can I put this kind of functionality in my custom FileDialog. It's really important for me please any comments will help me alot. Thanks for the help

I think you can write :
Runtime.getRuntime().exec("start.exe " + MyFileDialog.getDirectory() + MyFileDialog.getFile());
So, "start.exe" choose the application (not valid for NT machine), ".getDirectory()" return the PATH and ".getFile()" return the NAME.

Customer discount when netting vendor payment with customer receivable

Hi Guru,
We built the netting process in which we net the vendor payment with customer receivable. There is a problem. The payment program takes the discount off from the receivable even after the term discount period. e.g. we have a receivable from the customer with a 1% discount with one month term which expires on July 31. I do a payment run with a posting date of Aug 26. The payment program still gives the 1% discount to the receivable thereby reducing the amount of receivable and increasing the amount of our net payment.
Is this a glitch? OR have I missed any configuration??

while running the APP for a vendor, the system will suggest all open items due from vendor account and customer account.
This can be changed at the time of APP.

Having templates appear when users click the "New Document" button in a document library with custom content types

Hi all,
I'm using SharePoint Online, but I'm seeing the same behavior in an on-prem 2013 instance as well. My situation is this:
- I've created a document library
- I've created a custom content type and attached a custom document template to it
- I've assigned the custom content type to the document library, and disabled the default "document" option
What I'm expecting to see is that when I browse to the document library and click "new document", that either a) a picklist appears allowing me to specify the document template I want (using the custom template I specified) or b) open the custom
template itself. That doesn't happen - instead, when I click new document I'm prompted to upload a file, which seems to contradict the whole point of using a custom content type/custom document template combo.
Am I missing something? The custom template isn't in the Forms library, which seems to be a problem if I wanted to use the custom document template instead of the default.
Ideally I'd like a menu like the one shown here:

Hi Brain,
What you have done is by design behavior.
If you want to show the Office document templates list (e.g. below image from your above referenced link) to select when click "+new document" link, this will need to install Office Web App 2013 which provides this feature,
you can new document and see it is using WopiFrame.aspx page, please see more from below article about how to configure OWA 2013 for SharePoint 2013 on-premise.

VS 2013 SP4 crashes when opening a Form with large Numbers of elements on Windows 8 32-Bit

Hi, I have made a C#-Project, which is fully functional but opening the main form causes VS 2013 Sp4 to crash. I can build the solution an open all Files. Only when i open the form in Designer, VS crashes and want to restart. There are no Log-Entrys. Only
in the event-log there is an Event-Id 1000 with code 0x0000409. I can open the form on two other Windows 8.1 64-Bit machines without Problems. Looking on "free Mem" while opening in Resourcemonitor it crashes when at least are around 190 MB free.
How can I investigate this Problem?

If the same solution works well in other machine, I doubt that it is your Environment issue.
Of course, to make sure that it is not the project files issue, please create a blank solution, and then add all project files to this new solution, test it again.
Maybe you could delete .suo file in your solution folder, and then re-open your .sln file, test it again.
If there are many projects in the same solution, I suggest you create different solutions for them, test it again.
But as your previous description, I doubt that it would be related to your VS/Windows Environment.
Please disable all add-ins in your VS, maybe you could run your VS in safe mode, test it again.

To make sure that it is not the account issue, please run your VS as the admin.
In addition, the most important issue is that we have make sure that it is not the Window Configuration issue.
For example, when you run your windows for a long time, or your task manager is so busy, or other processes take high CPU and so on, I think they will impact your VS or other software performance.
Please restart your PC, close other processes which take high memory, please also close third party tools like firewall or the Anti-virus. If you open a few VS Editors, just close them, and then just open one, test it again.

I am expecting to get some round corners in the button, but it fails in 11g. This only happens in ADF 11g, in 10g, it works. I use JDEV 11.1.1.4.0 and <tr:commandButton> in the UI. What have I possibly missed?

Open / initialise ME21n with customized default Document Overview

Hi all,
I created a customer field in the Purchase Requisitions. Now I would like to create a program to start ME21n with the Document Overview on and a customized SAP Query from the infoset '/SAPQUERY/MEBANF' to implement in enhancement 'MEQUERY1'. In this Query I would like to find the Purchase Requisitions with a value which corresponds with the value of the customer field.
My obstacles are the following:
1) How can I pass a value through to the customized SAP Query
2) How can I customize the default setting of the Document Overview
Please don't post a list of other (i think irrelevant) User-exits. I'm aware of the fact that I shouldn't BDC ME21n.

Can you please share your thoughts on the document overview functionality in the purchase order screen, becuase I have a requirement to see the MPN number in that Doc overview for the selected Purchase requisitions. I have changed the layout and added the field MPN number but somehow this field is showing completely blank.

Customized R12 Standard Purchase Order report with custom data and layout

Hi all,
We need to customize the seeded Purchase Order report in R12 to add an additional section to include cost data coming from our custom table. The key is that our customized report should be launched instead of the seeded report via various PO forms (e.g. View Document menu option, PO Communications form to email, fax and print PO, etc).
I manually set up a custom Document Type Layout for the Document "Standard Purchase Order" to use my customized template so my custom layout is shown instead of the R12 layout, but according to Oracle support the report can only draw data from a set of seeded Oracle views like po_headers_xml,po_lines_xml etc.
Any suggestions how we can add our custom data to PO report in R12?

Hi Mike
thats a tough one, the PO generation is a bit restrictive to say the least when it comes to customizing. It sounds like you have worked out how to get your own template in there to render the PO.
On the data front, all I can think of is to customize and replace the seeded PO view with one that incorporates your extra data.
Or, get into the page customization world and write your own extract and format concurrent program/procedure and then hook it onto the buttons where you want to launch it.
You might have more luch, response wise from the EBS PO forum.

How to open PDF file with the view I wish without many clicks

I am getting many many scanned files daily and I'd like to able to skim thru each file as fast as possible.
Since the way each file scanned is consistent, when I open it, I am clicking a button to rotate it counterclock, then click zoom-in a few times to be able to read the top portion to see if the file is of my interest.
Can we customize the way the files are opened? I wish that once I open it, it will be rotated (so that I don't have to tilt head to read it), and zoom in big enough for me to read it.
I did try (I am new to this) "accessabitly settup assistant", but couldn't achieve my desired effect.
Any suggestions?

Actually when I asked whether they could scan it differently, I was told "no" for that type of scanner they have, and they have been reading it the same way as I just start to do, for years.
Maybe someone knows about what scanners have the feature to do these tricks?
I tried the preference setting. It's still less manageable. However, I manage to be able to click 3 buttons to get to the top portion to be readable.
First, I rotate it counterclock (which mess up the view zoom in setting preference).
Then I click to "show one page" button;
Then I clcik to make the document to fill the width. (at this point, the zoom in is about 79%).

Custom flash player (not flv) working with custom flash content

I am working on a custom player of swf content. Some of the
content the player loads and plays is custom Flash content (swf
files) such as games.
Depending on how the external content is built, sometimes the
pause button for the player will not pause everything in the loaded
content swf.
Does anyone know of a standard approach to such a problem?

Unable to open PDF file with PDF Viewer, whereas same file opens smoothly on IE/Chrom.

I am using pdf.js for one of my client. If i explicitly copy and paste URL of my pdf, it opens perfetly fine on IE and Chrome but doesn't open on FF at all. My application uses pdf.js and it doesn't open my pdf on any of the browser. is there any fix for this problem? Error I get is

MY FIREFOX does not have a URL box, refresh, back/forward buttons or a tool bar with file, view, tools, etc.

There's no bar that says file, tools, view, (other?) OR URL box, reload button or back/forward buttons, so I can't even do some of the things people are suggesting, like run in safe mode. This requires using the file button. The suggestions I'm getting all require using the bar that I don't have. I also uninstalled and reinstalled firefox to see if it would change, but it didn't. I've still got the same problem.
Would LOVE to take care of this soon. It's causing me to put some projects on hold. Annette

CRM 2013 Opening salesorder record results in blank page

I am using CRM 2013 on-premise and I'm having an issue viewing Order records. I can see the list of Active Orders, but when I click an Order record to open it, I get a blank page.
I have tried the following to fix this:
Cleared my cookies and cache
Navigated to another Org under the same URL
IIS reset on the web site
Full server reboot
I have found several posts saying this is a known bug in CRM 2013 and the "fixes" were the items listed above. Has anyone else run into this issue and not been able to resolve using the aforementioned work-arounds?
I also get an additional error when I try to navigate away from the blank page:

If from an online link, I have seen the same before. This usually occurs if the server where the document is located is very slow. Retrying (F5) usually resolves the problem.
P.S. the latest secure version of Reader 7x is 7.1.4!
