CRM 7.0 WebUI: Second field searchhelp based on first field value

Hi,
I created an all-custom search/result component, all other things are working correctly, except one - on result list, when in change mode, the second field should have a dropdown list which is filled based on the first field value, user can pick one. I searched this forum and SAP docs, so far I haven't found a solution. Has anyone done this? or have you seen any SAP standard screens having this kind of function?

Hi Steven,
1. Declare a Global Drop Down table as an attribute in your implementation class.
2. Create an Event when you select a drop down value for the first field.
3. In this event handler, build the global drop down table.
4. In the get_v method of your second field, fill the returning parameter of dropdown values from the values in your global dropdown table you just filled in the Event Handler method.
I have used this successfully. I hope it works for you too.

Hi Steven,
You will rarely see a result list component in change mode.
Anyhow, to fulfill your requirement, you have to trigger a round trip for the first field when a value is selected.
You can do this by specifying a dummy event in GET_P method.
The GET_V method of the second field will trigger for this round trip and you can trigger the values.

Making a DFF field mandatory based on another field

Hello All,
We have a requirement where in we need to make a DFF field mandatory based on another field.
example:
DFF has two fields :
Filed1 : values 'Email', 'Fax'
Filed2
If 'Email' is selected in 'Field1' then Field2 should become mandatory.
Any inputs on this will be really helpful.

recently, i spent considerable amount of time wracking my brain on a similar problem. the nearest i came to a solution was when i used a forms personalisation. mind you, forms personalisation will not work directly on the DFF window, so it has to be approached in a roundabout sort of way.
i got this information from an Oracle Support personnel - MOS Note 1078348.1.
i would start with the flexfield segment as "not required", and then using Forms Personalization, i would make it "required". i would try to figure out how to establish a condition where the previous 'required' flexfield segment's value is checked to see if this 'not required' segment needs to be made 'required'. in theory, this should solve the issue. i gave up on it because the forms personalisation would need to cover WHEN-VALIDATE trigger event, and we had close to 100 validations going on through other preexisting forms personalisations, which rendered it near impossible to employ this method.

I need to find field name at run time based on screen field name for doing some check.
Eg, if i have P_CUST on screeen which refers to KUNNR . Then i should be able to find KUNNR based on screen name ie P_CUST during run time.

How to make Multi Select Picklist Field Required Based on another field

Hi,
I want to make one filed which is Multi select Required(mandatory) based on certain value in another filed.
I tried putting IIf([<FieldNAme>]> 1000 AND [<FiledNAme1>] IS NULL,"Invalid",[<FieldNAme>]) in the Field validatation as but it is not working.
Please suggest any workaround available.

I guess FieldName1 is the multiselect picklist you are referring to?
Where did you get the ITAG from? I don't see any multiselect picklists available in Expression Builder. I doubt whether you can set validations on multi select picklists at all.
If anyone has achieved this please let me know as well.

Making fields required based on other field input

I am creating a form in adobe acrobat pro that employees need to fill in to show the clients they have worked for in a week. The form has 10 lines for them to fill in the date, client name, address etc for 10 clients. I want to make the client name and address fields required only if the date has been filled in in the first column. I can't make every row required fields as they may not have 10 clients that they have worked for. I have a send button set up so that all required fields are completed before the form can be sent. Can someone help me with the script I would need. I have worked out how to make the fields required if a check box is ticked but can't find any scripting for fields to be required if text has been entered in a specific field.

You can use the custom validation script of the date fields. Let's say you
want to make Name1 and Address1 required if Date1 is not empty.
Use this code to do it:

Setting fields mandatory based on other fields

Hi,
In my adobe form there are 4 input fields(F1,F2,F3 and F4) and one field(F5) which is input optional. But if any field (F1, F2,F3 or F4) gets changed, the fifth field F5 has to be mandatory. I guess some java scrip is required but I dont have any idea on the same.

we have a similar situation where a field must be filled in if a value is chosen in our dropdown box.
you can throw a popup message stating that the field must be filled...

Or what we did is just checked all the values after the SUBMIT and issued error messages in a message area letting the user know what they missed.

Make one field required based on another field

I am trying to set a form up, so that when a check box is marked, then the corresponding date field is required. I set the script language to Javascript and entered this script:

However, I get an error message stating "syntax error near toekn '!' on line 1, column 20." There is no ! in this script, so I don't know what it is talking about. What am I doing wrong?

The script that executes if the statement is true should be inside curly brackets. So the following in the click event of the checkbox should work:

Yes, it's possible. One way (probably not the only way) is to use a case or decode in your select statement. If A<>value, then have case/decode generate the link, otherwise have it generate the text.
Then, in your report attributes for that column, just leave it as a regular column. I.E., don't use the built-in column link feature. That feature makes all entries in that column into a link.

on a particular day, if the chocolate has the value, then only display that particular row?
If so, you can try with RKF restricted with chocolate, and apply the condition on this RKF.
plz try once and let us know. also i guess this works when we know the char value beforehand, if it gets change, we need to do something else i guess.
I may not correct somewhere. experts can advise further if this doesn't work.

DAX Dynamic Banding | Calculated Member based on Calculated Field

Good morning,
I've created a Power Pivot model that measures the blood glucose levels of clinical patients at specific times of the day. The requirement is that this metric, let's call it GlucoseLevel, is always averaged as it wouldn't make sense to sum up the values.
To meet this first requirement, I set the "Summarize By" property of the GlucoseLevel column to "Average".
The second requirement is to band the GlucoseLevel values so that groups of people can be measured by this band rather than by the individual measure values. I created a banding table in Excel and then imported it into the Power Pivot model. The banding table
has three columns (BandName, MinValue and MaxValue) and has the following values:
VERYLOW: Min Value = 0; Max Value = 3.99
OK: Min Value = 4; Max Value = 6.99
WARNING: Min Value = 7; Max Value = 10.99CRITICAL: Min Value = 11; Max Value = 30.00
It is at this point where I face my challenge. I have a GlucoseLevel measure and I have a banding table. Great. The challenge is: How do I create a calculated, dynamic
member that will look at my GlucoseLevel measure (at whatever level), do a lookup to my banding table, and then return the "BandName" column from the Banding table at that specific level? So to clarify what I mean by level: I want to be able
to view the bandings at Year level, or a Month level, or even at a week level. Then depending on what level I am at, my measure should have a Band associated to it.
I've tried to solve this issue in a couple of ways:
Attempt 1
Create a calculated column in my fact table that contains a nested IF statement to manually band my GlucoseLevel values. This works fine if I view my data at the lowest level of granularity, however
it does not work if I start looking at my data at the day, week, month etc. levels
Attempt 2
1.) Create a calculated field (not a calculated column) that averages my GlucoseLevel measure. This is cool because it will average my measure at whatever level I am viewing it at. Let's call
this field Bob...
2.) Band my measure Bob by creating another calculated field (called PatientBand). This field uses my banding table (described earlier) in conjunction with my calculated field Bob. This works perfectly, except for one big flaw: Excel sees this banding field
as a measure, and not as something that I can use as a column / row...
So my question is: Can I trick Excel into viewing my PatientBand calculated field as an attribute, and not as a measure? And if not, how do I get around this challenge? Here is the DAX formula that I used to create my second calculated field "PatientBand":

So there are 2 ways that I can think of for doing that.
1) if you are only using MDX clients like Excel or Reporting services you can create a text based measure that returns the banding name. (Note that this sort of approach does not work at the moment with PowerView as it only displays numeric measures). This
would effectively let you show a label next to a reading as opposed to moving the reading under a given banding column.

every row in the specified table and sums the expression in the second parameter. I have setup the second parameter so that it only returns a single value for the average if it is in the appropriate banding.

Want to hide the drop down based on text field value

Hi,
I want to hide some of the values in drop down based on one text field value.
I have the field called name which has the value A, B, C, D and also one drop down list which has the values 1,2,3,4,5,6. I want to hide the some of the values in drop down based on A or B or C. Let say, If it is A, drop down value should be 1,3,5. If it is B, Drop down value should be 1,2,3,4. Like this for every record.

I am trying it in two different way. Please suggest which is the right one and feasible.
1) I have the drop down list which has all the status. I am trying to hide the drop down values based on one text field value for all records.
2) I have collected all the drop down values into table in webdynpro method. Rightnow I have two tables.
one has line items details and another one have drop down values. both tables having common fields.
I have to show second table values for that particular key, move all of them to drop down.
Which is the best and feasible option.

Changing a field based on another field

hi one and all
i am looking for a way to change a field based on another field. if i have item 2 and item 8 on the page and item 8 needs to be required based on item 2 based on a requirement, how would this be done.
ex if item 2 has a PO inputed, when it is moved off the field, item 8 should be changed from required false to required true. i have tried in both the process request and process form request with no luck
any suggestions.

How to populate Second drop down based on the first drop down value

Hi Experts,
i have a HTML BSP page. with 2 drop down with SELECT and OPTION tags. i need to populate the second drop down based on the first drop down value.
i tried HTMLB script they work good as stand alone when i try to embed the HTMLB with HTML it does not work.
Please can you give me a solution only with ABAP script and HTML.
please clearly let me know on what event i should implement it. sample code is really appreciated .

You can have event handler for first drop down . Then populate the data for 2nd field when the event triggers on first field.
