CRM central search iview show nothing, how to config?

Hi guys,
We've load the CRM business package 5.0 to our portal, and we want to use the "central search" iview in the business package. The iview is contained in the "Today" page under "CRM User" role, when we open the page in portal, the central search area shows nothing. What's the problem, how to config it, thank you!

Thank you for your reply. I know we need the function group authorization, so I've assigned the SAP_ALL and SAP_new to the user in CRM. But the problem remains.
I'm not sure what you meant by rights to access the portal component, as I've already assign the role contains the page contains which the central search iview to the user, I think the user now have the rights to access the iview. Do we need any further check on this?

    At the end of the Oracle Clusterware software install a number of Configuration
    assistants are run automatically. In that Virtual IP configuration assistant configures the VIPS for you.
    To run it manually, To re run vipca run the vipca.bat (root.sh in linux) file from the Oracle clusterware bin directory.Follow the prompts for VIPCA to select the appropriate interface for the public network, and assign the VIPs for each node when prompted. Manually running VIPCA with the same IPs should complete successfully.

  • How can I use ONE Text search iView to event/affect mutliple Result Sets?

    hello everyone,
    i have a special situation in which i have 6 flat tables in my repository which all have a common field called Location ID (which is a lookup flat to the Locations table).
    i am trying to build a page with a free-form text search iView on Table #1 (search field = Location ID).  when I execute the search, the result set for Table #1 is properly updated, but how do I also get Result Set iViews for Tables #2-6 to also react to the event from Text Search for Table #1 so that they are updated?
    i don't want to have to build 6 different text search iViews (one for each table).  i just want to use ONE text search iView for all the different result set tables.  but, in the documentation and iView properties, the text search iView doesn't have any eventing.
    if you have any suggestions, please help.

    hello Donna,
    that should not be a problem, since you are detailw with result sets and detail iviews because custom eventing can be defined for those iviews.
    Yes, it says "no records" found because an active search and record selection havent' been performed for it (only your main table does).
    So, yes, define a custom event, and pass the appropriate parameters and you should be fine.
    Creating a custom event between a Result Set iView and an Item Details iView is easy and works. I have done it.
    See page 35 of the Portal Content Development Guide for a step-by-step example, which is what I used.
    For my particular situation, the problem I'm having is that I want the Search Text iView's event (i.e., when the Submit button is pressed) to be published to multiple iViews, all with different tables.  Those tables all share some common fields, which is what the Search iView has, so I'd like to pass the search critera to all of the iViews.

For instance, I'm wanting to play an album with a particular track on it or I'm searching for albums that include that track. iTunes incorrectly assumes that all I'm after is that one track and then incorrectly displays the album as if there is only one ttrack on it. This is a bonkers default setting. Can I change this?

    Click the search magnifying glass and uncheck "Search entire library".
    Type in the name of the track.
    Click the album of interest to show tracks.
    Select the track.
    Press the X in the search box to clear the search.
    Double click the track you want to start playing first.

    I understand that you are having issues with your music displaying correctly. This may be an issues with the metadata stored within that song, and iTunes interpretation of that info.

    i have a lot of index ID's for searching in different folders. Is it possible to set only one index-group as default for a search iView? Until now i get all groups as default in every search. It's inconvenient for the users to use the link of 'show options' in order to uncheck the other index ID's.

    hi Seed,
    To achieve this you have to follow the below steps
    1. Create a new set of search options, choose System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> User Interface -> Search -> Search Options Set in the portal.
    In that you have a field 'Index Groups', wherein you can specify which index group, the user has to search in. If there are multiple index groups, mention your index groups separated by comma.

    2. You have to specify the option set that you created in step 1 in the default KM search iview. In the iview properties, under the field search option set, mention the option set that was created for this index group or multiple index groups.
    This way, you can configure KM search iview to search in a single index group or multiple index groups.

    I have set up the central search feature and and it works well. The SAP standard criteria attributes are displayed. Using the configuration tool on component BP_HEAD_SEACH I have chosen to display only:
    Name1 / Last Name
    Account ID
    Employe Resp - Last Name
    Marketing Attribute
    Contact - Last Name
    Role Config Key: ZGL_AB_BM
    Component Name: BP_HEAD_SEARCH
    Component Usage: Search
    Object Type: <DEFAULT>
    Object Subtype: <DEFAULT>
    In the selected search criteria both the Displayed and Use in Central Search columns have been checked.
    When I go to test my changes, the 5 search criteria above are shown in the drop down boxes in the work center page but the drop down context menu underneath My Saved Searches continues to show the standard SAP criteria. It does not seem to implement the config changes I made.
    Am I missing something?

    I have now got this working.
    The central search will work with SAP note 1293695: Central Search Menu - Use Configuration of UI Object Type implemented and with the following config attributes:
    Role Config Key: <Role Config Key>
    Component Usage: <DEFAULT>
    UI Object type: <DEFAULT>
    Object Subtype:<DEFAULT>
    Also worth mentioning is that the search objects offered in the central search menu is cached in a server cookie by role and language. By default it expires after an hour and the next user who starts the application after this rebuilds the cache - which may take usually 30 seconds up to a minute for a particular user and a business role.
    As a consequence customizing changes related to the central search are not visible right away. The cache can be invalidated manually via method CL_CRM_CENTRAL_SEARCH=>CLEAR_CACHE using the SE24 and its Test-Button. Alternatively you may set the user parameter 'CRM_CENTRAL_SEARCH' to 'REBUILD_MENU': In this case the menu is rebuilt with each application start for the corresponding user and the business role used.

    First, some clarification:
    * The location bar (often called the "awesome bar") is the larger bar on the left that shows you the address of the page you are currently viewing. As you type in the location bar it searches your history and bookmarks for matches.
    * The search bar is the smaller one on the right. It typically displays an icon of whichever search engine is currently selected and may display search suggestions as you type in it.
    It sounds like you are referring to the search bar rather than the location bar. You can change search engines for the search bar by clicking on the icon on the left edge of the search bar and choosing a different one. You can also choose "Manage Search Engines" to remove ones you aren't interested in using.
    It also sounds like Bearshare might have changed your homepage in Firefox. To restore that you will need to open the preferences menu (click Tools > Preferences), go to the General tab (first on the top left), and click "Restore to Default".

    Hi All,
    We are using the compensation planning iview on MSS and in the top SAP has employee search iview to select the team. In their is an option to serach by employee first/last name. It works fine but the user has to type in the exact case the last name was saved in infotype.
    For example - last name Brown exists in our system. If you serarch using "br" it does not find it but if you do "Br" it finds the
    right employee.
    My question is - is there a way to change it so that the search does not consider the lowe/upper case and finds the name if matches anyway.

  • Urgent: how to make an iView show as the initial page

    A user in my team has only one role.
    Under this role, there is a folder.
    In the folder , there are some iViews.
    We want one iView to show up as the initial page immediately after
    the user logs into EP.
    We have tried to set "entry point", sort priority but the user still has to click
    the folder before the iView showing up.
    Is there anyway to avoid the click? (claim: the folder must be there and
    cannot be removed in order to achieve this).

    Greg,
    Make the Entry point of the Role as NO. Make the Folder as an Entry Point (select the Folder under the Role - click properties button - then set Entry Point=Yes there). This way the Folder will be shown as the top level tab. Then put your desired iView at the first position under the folder. So you are done. Also you can set the property Sort Priority=1 or something small for the Folder. So that that folder and in turn the iView will always be the first page for your portal.

  • IC Webclient: document search not showing documents for contacts

    I am working with SAP CRM 4.0, SP7.
    I have created an account(a001) with three contacts(c001, c002, c003). I have attached a document(d001) to account a001 and two documents(d002, d003) to contact c001.
    Now when I open the IC-Web client UI and go to 'Identify Account' and enter a001 in the Account ID and do a search account, I see three contacts(c001, c002, c003) in the result list of account. When I click in the contact(c001) and go to 'Document Search', it shows only documents attached to a001 and there is no way I can see the documents attached to c001.
    Can anyone please let me know, how do I see the documents attached to contact c001 in this case?
    Please note that if I enter c001 in the Account ID of 'Identify Account' and then go to 'Document Search', then it shows me the documents d002 and d003. But, I want to see the contacts documents entering from accounts.
