CTM Forecast Demand (FC) and Stock (CC) supply

Hi Gurus,
We are testing a simple CTM scenario with FC as our Demand and CC as our stock.
We have 2 plants and 1 product.
Material Availability Date is our Demand Prioritization.  Both of our demands have the same Date - a month from the current date.
We have Procurement Prioritization set up for both PPMs and Tlanes.
My problem is this:
At both the locations the Supply (CC) is less than the demand (FC).  When we run CTM, the first demand signal is taking the stock from the second location - even though there is demand at that location that needs the stock.  The first demand signal is not fulfilled and the second is not fulfilled, but we have an unnecessary Purchase Requisition created to partially fulfill the first demand.
Shouldn't CTM ignore the second location as a source of supply since the location has demand against it's existing stock?  What can I do to prevent CTM from using stock at a location which has demand of it's own?
thanks in advance,
sarah

Hello Dipankar,
Thank you for your response.  I apologize for not answering sooner - I was testing ATP priroritization.
We only have MBDAT as our demand prioritization.  I tested with ATP categories but was not able to resolve the issue.
I have noticed that the issue only happens when there are PPMs assigned to the model.
IE:
Model A (all demands are for same date)
LOC A supply 100 units of product X, supply of 30 units of product Z
LOC B supply 100 units of product X, supply of 30 units of product Z
LOC A demand 200 units of product X, demand of 40 units for product Z
LOC B demand 200 units of product X, demand of 40 units for product Z
Tlanes maintained between locations for Product X and Product Z
NO PURCHASE REQS CREATED
Model B (all demands are for same date)
LOC A supply 100 units of product X, supply of 1000 units of product Z
LOC B supply 100 units of product X, supply of 1000 units of product Z
LOC A demand 200 units of product X, demand of 40 units for product Z
LOC B demand 200 units of product X, demand of 40 units for product Z
Tlanes maintained between locations for Product X.
PPM maintained at LOC A to create Product Z (output) from Product X (input)
PURCHASE REQ CREATED FOR PRODUCT X FROM LOC B TO LOC A.
PLANNED ORDER CREATED FOR PRODUCT Y FROM PRODUCT X AT LOC A
I am not able to figure out why the purchase requisition is created when LOC B has demand of its own.  I am not able to figure out why the purchase requisition is only created when PPMs are in the model.
Best Regards,
Sarah

  • Demand Plan and Supply commit

The forecast or demand plan from Demantra (monthly bucket) is sent to suppliers by Collaboration planning Via ASCP (broken to weekly bucket). The supply commit will be received through CP (wkly bucket) to ASCP (wkly bucket) to Demantra (aggregated to monthly).
The reason being demantra values are in montly bucket and we want weekly break up and thats why we are thinking to use ASCP.
    Is this true?
View Plan vs. commit by month in Demantra
View Plan vs. commit by week in ASCP
CP is a portal for file exchange
Or supply commit is visible only in CP?
Please explain and suggest alternate design if possible?
    Thanks

    Hi,
You need to define the SNP Demand Profile and SNP Supply Profile in the Product Location master data.
Goto -> /n/SAPAPO/MAT1 -> On the selection screen below the Product / location fields, you see the fields for
    - Lot Size Profile
    - Demand Profile
    - SNP: Demand Profile
    - SNP: Supply Profile
    - Deplloyment Profile.
Here you can enter the name of any profile you want to create and use the 'Create' button to create your profile. This will be then available for selection when you create your Product Location master.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you still have any doubts.
    Cheers,
    Srinidhi
    Hope this helps.

  • SAP ERP - Demand Planning and Forecasting

    Dear all,
my customer is a wholesale company. They want to use a component in SAP ERP (not SAP APO), in order to make demanding planning and forecasting for the materials , quantities and dates they should make the purchases in order to cover the demand of their customers. What is the component that should be used in order to achieve this?

MRP can be used without production planning. SOP and Demand Management are not Production.
Nevetheless, if you want a simpler planning cycle, provided that you understand its ads and cons, you could go for Consumption Based Planning MRP.

  • How to configure to run SNP that creates only PReq and Stock Transfer only?

    Hi all,
I am very new to SCM.
Please help me on the scenario like this:
    -There are 3 Distribution Centers (DC): 2400, 2500, 3800 and a Vendor: 1003.
-Each DC can take products from otherDC. But only DC 2400 can directly send purchase requisition to Vendor  1003 when no stock at all DCs.
-There is a Forecast released from Demand Planning to SNP, that is 1000 products at Distribution Center 2400.
-I will run SNP Heuristic (or Capabable to Match or Optimization) to cover this demand.
-Usually, SNP can create: Purchase Requisition, Stock transfer Requistion, and Planned Order.
But I only want the SNP to create Purchase Requisition and Stock Stransfer only.
    The question are:
1.In which situations (tock situation,u2026) the system can create Requisition and Stock Stransfer only ?
2.I need create a new Supply Chain  Model (Model) and a new Planning Version from scratch. How can I configure the system (Transportation lanes, Product Master Data, Procurement type in product masteru2026) and make it run to satisfy this scenario?
3.Do I need setting differently for each SNP method ( Heuristic, Capable to Match, Optimization)?
Thanks very much for your support.
    XuanDuyen

    Dear Mr. Aparna,
    Thanks for your quick reply.
Now I haved created a model like the scenario with product T-F204 and can run. ( I do not use vendor 1003. I created the Plant 1000 instead). But as you said, when I run with SNP Heuristic method (Network level), the system alert:
u201C Error exist in Locationsu2019 processing sequence for product T-F204u201D
However, I search internet and found a book about CTM. It also discuss about this and the solution as below:
    u201CRecursive Replenishment
When using complex supply chains, with many locations and various directional
supply routes, it can be easy to confuse a level-by-level planning tool. In certain
situations, recursive planning can occur. Recursiveness, is when the planning
algorithm is thrown into a loop (circular replenishment). Location 1000 can ship
to location 2400, and location 2400 can ship to location 1000. Situations such as
this can cause the CTM engine to terminate since it cannot find a starting point.
 The solution: Reduce to number of muximum consecutive transport order chains.
Within the CTMProfile, Settingsu2192Master Data Settings tab, planners can control
the sources of supply for External Procurement. With the parameter Maximum
Number of Consecutive Stock Transfers, you determine how many consecutive
stock transfers CTM planning can create. This value does not restrict the total
number of stock transfers for a demand. If you enter a value here, you can prevent
the system from transporting the receipts for a demand over several locations due
to the procurement priority. Also, you must have modeled the master data in such
a way that a direct stock transfer is possible if the system ignores the procurement
priority. If a direct stock transfer is not possible, CTM cannot fulfill the demand.u201D
Currently, our system runs only with Heuristic. It could not run CTM and Optimization so I could not check.
    My questions are:
    1.     Is the solution of the book can apply for my bi-direction transportation lanes requirement?
    2.     If it is true, with my scenario, what is the best u201CMaximum Number of Consecutive Stock Transfersu201D I can set?
    3.     How can I model u201Cthe master data in such a way that a direct stock transfer is possible if the system ignores the procurement priorityu201D?
Please follow the link to download the book (and view page 107 of book (page 117 of Acrobat Reader) as bellow if you want:

  • CTM Late Demand Fulfillment

    Hi All,
I have the following problem in the CTM application. I have one location with a customer order and a firmed planned order. The firmed planned order has a goods recipe date one month later than the goods issue date of the sales order. When I run the CTM another planned order is created at the goods issue date of the sales order. I expected that the firmed planned order has been taken by CTM to fulfill the demand.
If have therefore allowed the late demand fulfillment for 100 days and set the strategy to the domino strategy.
Has anybody an idea what parameter I have to set.
    Best Regards
    Dieter

    Hi Dieter,
Please check if the plan order is tied to your SO (t.code /SAPAPO/CTMVIEWER or in the /SAPAPO/RRP3). Also check in CTM profile (tab Supplies) what is your settings in the supply control section (Build Up Safety Stock and Stock is available). They should be active.
In the Planning Strategy tab what is the scheduling direction and pegging type?
Also check the Planning Strategy (planning mode & delete mode).
    Thanks, Marius

  • How to get Forecast demand data from R/3?

    Hello,
I am working on an xApp development project which interfaces with ERP.
Does anyone know if there is a BAPI to extract forecast demand data for each customer/product combination in R/3?
Also, is there a BAPI to extract the total number of shipments from each site to each customer or some way to come up with actual demand for the current period. If there is one number that totals the unit shipments to each customer, that would be easiest. Otherwise, if there is a way to get the shipments and we process them that would work also.
Is there a BAPI to create a Safety Stock for each site?  We are going to put the calculated safety stock values back into R/3.
    Thanks for your help.
    Brayden.

    Byaden,
To upload the SAFETY STOCK into R/3 Im using the BAPI: StandardMaterial Method: SaveData and works fine.
If you need detailed information write me to [email protected]

  • Demand Planning and eSOA

I am an SCM consultant, with particular interest in Demand Planning.
I am experienced with SAP APO, but am now interested in how the emerging eSOA environment can help with Demand Planning solutions.
Can anyone share thoughts/experiences of how web services in general and SAP eSOA in particular can provide 'added value' to Demand Planning?
    Thanks,
    Bob Austin, Atos Origin

Generally speaking, the demand plan or forecast is ultimately the "image" of the demand side that the supply side wishes to "mirror" or fulfill against. This view is a consolidation of many views from several players on the demand side -- whose input is provided to a much smaller group of planner-users of the Demand Planning tool.
What eSOA does is to essentially extend the Demand Planning process to this larger audience via a number of means:
The new Duet/Excel capability is one example of this extensibility. Think of all the spreadsheets that are being used to do <i>something</i> associated with the demand management process that you can now start to inject some process discipline and control into.
Another example is the ability to integrate with tools like 3rd party sales force automation or channel partners across mobile devices, etc. Because eSOA decouples the interaction layer from the data itself, I now have greater flexibility to extend and collaborate across an increasingly fragmented "demand chain" and different types of users and devices. The opportunity to add value requires some analysis and creativity -- but we are in the age of user-driven innovation and eSOA is designed for this "self service" paradigm.
    Hope this helps.

  • What is demand planning and shop floor plannig, explain briefly?

I like to know and understand about demand planning and shop floor plaining? please explain briefly?
    Thank you,
    york

    Hi Les,
    <b>Demand Planning</b> is
Application component in the Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) that allows you to forecast market demand for your company's products and produce a demand plan.
APO Demand Planning has a data mart in which you store and maintain the information necessary for the demand planning process in your company. Using this information along with user-defined planning layouts and interactive planning books, you can integrate people from different departments into the forecasting process. The APO DP library of statistical forecasting and advanced macro techniques allows you to create forecasts based on demand history as well as any number of causal factors, and use a consensus-based approach to consolidate the results. Marketing intelligence and management adjustments can be added by using forecast overrides and promotions. The seamless integration with APO Supply Network Planning supports an efficient S&OP process.

  • Purchasing Report for invoice and stock

    Hi guys,
in your opinion does it exist a unique report which contains the following informations for suppliers:
    -          invoice codes from supplier not yet paid
    -          POu2019s to supplier not yet delivered
    -          ATH stock at supplier
At the moment my customer separates informations per supplier  via FBL1N (invoices not paid), ME2L or ME2M (open for delivery), and MB52 (special stock, type O)
Iu2019m looking for a solution were this 3 information will show on 1 screen by entering the supplier.I have tyed with ME2M but it is not sufficient...
    Thanks in advance best regards
    Massimiliano

    hi,
What are you trying to get is an Updates from three different area, which are not connected to each other..
FBL1N will get updated once the Payement is done,
ME2M would be updated once the GR is done, (ME2M does have any selection Parameter which will include 'Payement done')
MB52 would be cumulative Stock on Hand (this stock deoesnt link to PO)
However, you can go for a small Z program to built a customised Report.

  • Forecast delivery schedules and JIT deliveries

    Hi Gurus,
Got a question on sales scheduling agreements schedule lines. Our customer sends 10 weeks of forecast delivery schedules and 2 weeks of JIT deliveries. which one of these two are passed to MD04?
Assuming only forecast delivery schedules are seen in MD04:
Assuming customer sends forecast delivery schedule for week2 as 50. but in JIT deliveries he only sent 40 for that week. if only forecast deliveries are see in md04, then my forecast and planning quantity is 50 , but actually my JIT delivery is only 40.  AM I  producing 10 extra? that  means my planning is wrong?

    925,
so in system it will show on 3/21 monday
I guess this means that you are entering using a Day format rather than Week format.
You have answered you own question already.  If the online SAP help, which you have read and reasonably paraphrased, is not clear enough to make you understand this, I cannot help you.
JIT horizon is 3/23, Forecast is for 3/21.
As I stated before, even though it may in your mind represent a week's demand, it is still for one day.  There is no bucketing, nor time-based disaggregation, nor consumption.  It is just a scheduling agreement.
    You wrote
am using MRP indicator D. that means within jit horizon, consider my jit quanity for requirements. and after jit horizon consider my forecast delivery schedules as requirements.
.  This is a reasonable paraphrase of the SAP online help.  Do you believe this?
Forecast schedule is for 3/21.  NOT for W 12/2011.  This is before the JIT horizon, isn't it?  What do you think will happen to the forecast schedule, looking at the last 'rules' you just wrote? and as stated in the SAP help that you read?
Now you want to enter JIT schedules. 21/22/23/24/25/26.  JIT horizon is 23.  24/25/26 are after JIT horizon.  What do you think will happen, based on the 'rules' you just wrote?
I feel my time is being wasted when you keep asking me these questions, already having the answers explicitly stated in SAP oinline help.  Since you do not have access to a system, this cannot be a support issue, it is a evidently a matter of idle curiosity for you.  I therefore believe I will will move onto other forum questions, where there is a possibility that the questioners will get some business benefit from my answers.
    Best Regards,

  • Procurement cycle in third party order and stock transport order.

please provide me in steps the procurement cycle in third party order and stock transport order.

    Hi,
    STO Process: -
1.Create a vendor for the company code of receiving plant, using account group :0007 using T-Code XK01.
    2. Assign this vendor to Delivering plant
    Go to XK02 >Purchasing view>Extras>Add. Purchasing data>Plant
    3. Create internal customer with the sales area of the vendor. Go To XD01
    4. In Pricing procedure determination relevant to STO, assign document Pricing Procedure and customer pricing procedure appropriate for STO to get the pricing in the invoice.
    5. Maintain condition records for the relevant pricing condition.
    6. Some more setting for STO: Go to MM> Purchasing > Purchase Order > Set up STO > define shipping data for plants > Go to Receiving plant >assign customer here & Supplying SA (for billing) to Receiving plant here
    7. Go to MM > Purchasing > Purchase Order > Set up STO > define shipping data for plants > Go to Supplying plant and assign the sales area of receiving plant.
    8. Go to MM > Purchasing > Purchase Order > Set up STO > assign delivery Type & Checking rule
Assign the delivery type to document type. In this case, Delivery type NLCC is assigned to Document type NB
    9. Go to MM> Purchasing > Purchase Order > Set up STO > Assign document Type, One step Procedure, Under delivery tolerance
Assign the document type NB to supplying plant and receiving plant
    10. After all settings , Create the STO using T-Code:ME21N and maintain pricing conditions of freight and Save.
    11. Create Delivery :VL10G
Click on the Background Button after selecting line item
A message is flashed : See log for information> next Click on Log for delivery creation Button >click on line item>click on document button to get Delivery document No
    12. Picking, PGI:VL02N
    13. Billing:VF01
Save the document and its done
    14. J1IIN - Outgoing Excise Invoice
    15. MIGO - Goods Receipt against outbound Delivery
    16. J1IEX - Capture & Post Excise Invoice
    Pricing configuration for STO: -
In SPRO > MM > Purchasing > Conditions > Define Price Determination Process > Define Schema Determination > Determine Schema for Stock Transport Orders > Here assign Calculation Schema "RM2000" i.e. Stock Transfer Document to Schema Grp Pur. Org, STO Type (For e.g. UB) and Supplying Plant.
Calculation Schema "RM2000" has condition type P101 which will pick up the MAP of supplying plant automatically during creation of STO in ME21N ("Conditions" Tab).
You can create new freight / delivery cost conditions in M/06 and assign in pricing procedure "RM2000" in M/08 and also assign the Accrual Key to this and do the Account Determination for this Accrual Key in OBYC
    At the time of PGI, following accounting entry will get generated;
    Stock A/c - Dr - 110 INR (Receiving Plant)
    Stock A/c - Cr - 100 INR (Supplying Plant)
Freight Clearing A/c - Cr - 10 INR (Supplying Plant)
    Third Party Process Flow: -
    1) MM01 - General Item category Group should be BANS in basic view of material master.
    2) VA01 - Creation of sales order with VA01 transaction in SD module
    3) When sales order is created system automatically creates a PR for the material with item category as "S"--> Third Party Item
    4) ME21N - Directly PO with item category as "S" and delivery address as customer address
    5) MIGO - Statistical GR by MM ( When it is made goods are received and delivered)
    6) MIRO - Invoice by MM for vendor
    7) VF01 - Billing by SD on Customers
