  • WebLogic 10: Custom Tag type conversion issue

    I have a tag file wherein I define an attribute to be of type "mypackage.SuperClass". At runtime this tag gets passed an instance of "mypackage.SubClass" where SubClass is a sub-class of SuperClass.
              Now this should and does work fine in WebLogic 9.2 but in 10 it gives this error:
              Cannot convert <toString output of SubClass> of type class mypackage.SubClass to class mypackage.SubClass                    I appreciate any help to resolve this issue.

    This table has about 2 million rows.There is a date field in the table which comes as a 'nvarchar' in sql .When i try to convert it to a 'datetime' , i get an error as operation timed out..
    Refer below example.
    declare @x datetime
    set @x = '1/01/2006 12:00:00 a.m.'
    -------BELOW ERROR WILL BE DISPLAYED
    Msg 241, Level 16, State 1, Line 3
    Conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string.
    Rather the format of datetime should be,
    set @x = '1/01/2006 12:00:00 AM'
    WORKAROUND,
    declare @x datetime
    set @x = REPLACE('1/01/2006 12:00:00 a.m.','.','')

  • Implicit and explicit Type conversion using Type object in heap

    Hi,
    I am surprised how Implicit and explicit Type conversion works using Type object in heap. for example when implicit type conversion occur what pointer it returns to object and similarly with explicit type conversion.

    Hello,
    >> I am surprised how Implicit and explicit Type conversion works using Type object in heap.
    For Implicit conversions: Typical examples are conversions from smaller to larger integral types, and conversions from derived classes to base classes. For the first one, the reference would be different which means it would return a different pointer to
    a new object. For the reference type, it actually points to the same memory location, you could use the object.ReferenceEquals() to check it.
    For Explicit conversions (casts):Typical examples include numeric conversion to a type that has less precision or a smaller range, and conversion of a base-class instance to a derived class. For first one, it would perform the same with implicit conversions.
    While for the conversion of conversion of a base-class instance to a derived class, actually, there's no built-in way to do this conversion.

  • How to set the column order of a sealed column in a custom Content Type for the new item form NewDocSet.aspx?

    Dear SharePoint Developers,
    Please help.
    I need to know How to set the column order of a sealed column in a custom Content Type for the new item form NewDocSet.aspx?
    I think this is a "sealed column", whatever that is, which is  shown in SPD 2013 as a column of content type "document, folder, MyCustomContentType".
    I know when I set the column order in my custom Content Type settings page, it is correct.
    But, when I load the NewDocSet.aspx page, the column order that I set in the settings page is NOT used for this "sealed column" which is bad.
    Can you help?
    Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Mark Kamoski
    -- Mark Kamoski

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to set the column order of a sealed column in a custom Content Type for the new item form NewDocSet.aspx.
    Per my knowledge, if you have Content Type management enabled for the list or library (if you see a list of content type with the option to add more), the display order of columns is set for each content type.
    Drill down into one of them and you'll see the option under the list of columns for that content type.
    To apply the column order in the NewDocSet.aspx page, you need to:
    Select Site Settings, under Site Collection Administration, click Content type publishing. In the Refresh All Published
    Content Types section, choose Refresh all published content types on next
    update.
    Run two timer jobs(Content Type Hub, Content Type Subscriber) in central admin(Central Administration--> Monitoring--> Review timer jobs).

  • B2B Custom Document Type not getting identified

    Hello,
    I have installed Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g on my local machine and created a custom document type with proper .xsd definition and XPath Expression Identifier in Oracle B2B interface and configured its trading partners ( Host & Remote ) along with an agreement between the partners.
    I have also configured the host listening channel of Generic-File type which picks xml files from my c:\orclsrvs_in folder.
    My problem is that the moment I drop any sample file in the expected directory, it gets picked up from B2B , but there isn't any record of the same under Reports and Metrics links.
    The Business message, Application message and Conversation message tabs are also not showing any information about the record picked, but in wire message tab, the record is shown in PROCESSING state.
    I am not able to conclude whats wrong behind this.. where can i track the logs for the same ??
    kindly help to resolve this issue.
    Thanks & Regards
    Hiteshkumar Chaudhary

    Hi Hitesh,
    i came to know that B2B extracts the TP name from the filename itselfYes, in case of Generic File, Generic SFTP and Generic FTP, file name provides the necessary values to Oracle B2B to identify the Trading Partner. You can define your own file name format in the Delivery Channel under Transport Protocol Parameters in field "Filename format" (It's an optional field but it is always good to define your own format, otherwise B2B will take it's default format - TradingPartner_DocumentType_Revision_msgType_msgId_replytoMsgID_extension.xml ). Following Filename formats can be used -
    %FROM_PARTY%
    %TO_PARTY%
    %DOCTYPE_NAME%
    %DOCTYPE_REVISION%
    %MSG_ID%
    %TIMESTAMP%
    These file name formats can be used in any combination; for example,
    %TO_PARTY%_%DOCTYPE_NAME%_%DOCTYPE_REVISION%.dat
    Note - Any file extension is allowed.
    what are the system parameters to be set in weblogic console and how?? This activity is part of the pre and post installation steps. If you have done those without getting any errors then nothing else is required.
    how shall I reinstall XEngine properly ??XEngine is part of B2B installation. If B2B gets installed without flashing any errors then we assume that other components of this part has installed properly.

  • Designer Custom Data Type

    Hello,
    I've posted a project at some commercial sites to find someone to help me doing it, but couldn't find any. I thought that it might be impossible doing this type of projects. The following is what was posted expecting someone could help/lead me doing it myself or at least providing any valuable hints, Thank you in advance.
    Looking for an Oracle expert to do the software part of a project.
    A data to be populated in Oracle database, but unfortunately Oracle doesn't support the required data type to hold it.
    An expert has to create custom data type with all required procedures/functions to manipulate the data(Read/Update/Insert/Delete), and provide a method to incorporate the solution in Oracle developer suite to model it.(To use it inside designer tools)
    The solution should allow someone to Create a column in a table to hold (for example) three bits in every row(record), mostly used in the project is three bits, but need the solution to be open and customizable to any number from one up to 21. Viewing/entering the data in a record could be as binary string. Saving in a table physically should be in sampling way to save space.
    The functions/procedures for manipulating the data should be based on record level and block level(several records of one column with start/end points). For record manipulations a binary string should be used, and for block manipulations a sampled structure should be used.
    Thank you for your time.

    not sure what exactly do you mean by custom data type in SQL? if you mean if there is a user defined data type in oracle thru PL/SQL yes there is. by using the %Type you need not to declare the variable data type explicitly. all you need to do is associate the variable to the column name of the table and use the %Type. see this example below.
    SQL> declare
      2    vEmpno   emp.empno%Type;
      3  begin
      4    select empno
      5      into vEmpno
      6      from emp
      7     where ename = 'FORD';
      8    dbms_output.put_line('employee no: '||vEmpno);
      9  end;
    10  /
    employee no: 7902

  • Displaying Custom Content Types

    Short Version
    I have created custom content types that has a few properties that are complex. One is an image type and another is a collection of another custom content type. I am unable to display or access these items.
    Long Version
    I have a custom content type with the following properties
    It is called PageThreeColumn
    PageTitle : String
    LeftNav : String
    RightNav : String
    HeroImage : image (complext type that came with weblogic)
    ContentCollection: Collection of type ContentPlaceholder
    The other custom type ContentPlaceHolder
    Type : String
    HtmlContent : Binary
    I created a content presenter view (wlp-templete-config.xml) and I am able to get a simple string property to be displayed.
    So I can do the following
    <cm:getProperty name="LeftNav" node="${node}"/>
    And I get the expected String back.
    What I am unable to do is get to anything that is more complicated then the simple datatypes. For instance the Image data type.
    I have tried node.HeroImage but it does not display correctly.
    I appreciate any help you can give and would definately like a link to an example of displaying content that is not as trivial as most of the examples.

    I have tried the following code variations
    <div>
         ${node.properties[0]}
    <!--//Shows string as expected-->
         ${node.properties[1]}
    <!--//Shows string as expected-->
         ${node.properties[2]}
    <!--//Shows string as expected-->
         ${node.properties[3]}
    <!--//Shows the following
    HeroImage: [Lcom.bea.content.Property;@48958a1 -->
         ${node.properties[4]}
         <!--//Shows the following
         ContentCollection: [Lcom.bea.content.Property;@48958a5 ,
                                              [Lcom.bea.content.Property;@48958a8 ,
                                               [Lcom.bea.content.Property;@48958ab -->
                    <cm:getProperty node="${node.HeroImage}" name="heroimage" />
         <img src="${templates:getImageSource(pageContext.request, heroimage)}"/>
    </div>
    Variation 2
    <img src="${templates:getImageSource(pageContext.request, node.HeroImage)}"/> //says that it does not recognize node.HeroImage
    Variation 3
    ${node.HeroImage} //says that it does not recognise HeroImage
    All dont work.
    Should I be adding or doing some type of customization to the template jsp to handle the complex data type?
    Is there an example or tutorial that uses a complex content type and the content presenter to show content?
    Or maybe an example of more complicated uses of the JSP files in the:
    /portlets/wlp/contentpresenter/templates/wlp-default/cm
    /portlets/wlp/contentpresenter/templates/wlp-default/outer
    All of the examples I found were ver trivial. Basicly showing a very simple example but nothing using a content type that is more complicated in the non-primary properties then strings.

  • Call Oracle procedure with custom data type within Java and Hibernate

    I have a custom date TYPE in Oracle
    like
    CREATE TYPE DATEARRAY AS TABLE OF DATE;
    and I have a Oracle function also
    like
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION doesContain (list DATEARRAY, val VARCHAR2) RETURN NUMBER
    IS
    END doesContain;
    In my Java class,
    I have a collection which contain a list of java.util.Date objects
    When I call Oracle function "doesContain", how to pass my java collection to this Oracle function ...
    anyone can provide solutions?
    Please !!!
    Thanks,
    Pulikkottil

    Vu,
    First of all you need to define your types as database types, for example:
    create or replace type T_ID as table of number(5)Then you need to use the "oracle.sql.ARRAY" class. You can search this forum's archives for the term "ARRAY" in order to find more details and you can also find some samples via the JDBC Web page at the OTN Web site.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • I lost the ability to order and hide site columns if i use custom content type with a custom Create Form

    I have a team site collection and I want to add a new App of type Issue Tracking list. so I did the following:-
    From the site collection I created a new App of type issue tracking.
    Then from the site collection I created a new Content type named “CustomIssue” which has its parent as “Issue” content type.
    I went to the Issue tracking list and I changed the default content type from Issue , to the new “CustomeIssue” content type.
    I open the site collection using SP designer and I created a new Create form for my Issue tracking list based on the "CustomIssue" content type and I select to have the Create form as the default form when creating an item.
    Everything till this point worked well. But when I open the “customIssue” content type , and I re-order the columns and I hide some columns, this was not reflected inside the custom Create form …
    although when using the default content type and the default create form you can control the order of the fields and to specify if certain fields hold be hidden inside the Create form.. so can anyone advice on this please?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you lost the ability to order and hide site columns if i use custom content type with a custom Create Form.
    I try to reproduce the issue, the result is the same as yours.
    As a workaround, if I modify the custom content type form the site setting, and then change the NewForm as the default form, it will change the column orders.
    However, if I use the new created form as the default form, it will remain the original orders.
    I recommend that you modify the custom content type form the site setting, and then reset the NewForm as the default form.
    The result is as below:

  • JAXB binding schema type conversions

    If your DTD contains something like this:
    <!ELEMENT chicken (egg+)>
    then JAXB gives you a Chicken class with a method that returns a List of Egg objects.
    How can I specify in the binding schema that this collection should be a Hashtable (or other type of collection), not the default List? I think I probably have to write some sort of conversion class, but what is the syntax and how do I get it into my binding schema?

    Hi you can use the <option> tag at the top-level of your binding schema definition. You can define the default collection type of to be used e.g.
    <options default-reference-collection-type="array"/>
    Or you can use the collection attribute of most element bindings e.g.
    <choice property="entries" collection="array"/>
    But only arrays and lists are supported. If you want a different collection type, then you will have to subclass the generated classes and use the Collections class and the collection classes to convert between different collection types.
    Hope this helps.

  • Creating Collection Types

    I understand that in order to create a collection type by defining it then declaring its variable. Defining a collection type can be done using "declare type" and "create type" statement.
    What is the difference between these two?
    Thanks in advance.

    Valerie Debonair wrote:
    What is the difference between these two?One is a SQL data type and works in both the SQL and PL/SQL engines. It also a proper object orientated type and can have custom constructors, methods, be sub-classed, be created as an abstract type only, etc. It is typically called an "+object class+" in other programming languages.
    The other works in PL/SQL only. It is a very primitive data structure in comparison. It is typically called an "+array+" or "+collection+" in other programming languages.
    They are as different as chalk and cheeses - and you need to make sure that you use the right for the job when designing Oracle applications.

  • Unexpected IMAQ image type conversion indicated

    When wiring an Image to an IMAQ "object"/vi (e.g. Write Custom Data, Image Info, Calibration, ...) a type conversion indicator (grey dot) appears whenever the wire starts at a property node.
    The conversion indicator doesn't appear when wiring from a local variable or an unbundle "object".
    I would expect the value of an image object to behave similarly, regardless whether it is wired from a local variable, unbundle node or property node. Am I getting something wrong, is this a bug, or is there really some data type conversion going on?

    The image type is a type def.  It appears that the Value returns a non-typedef value.  LV shows a conversion dot whenever you change between a non-typedef and typedef variable, even if they are the exact same structure.

    I am new to Teststand software interface.  While doing my first software release under the guidance of a more experienced colleague, we discovered that Teststand will not run if it detects version number conflicts between custom data types on my machine vs. the production test machine.  I verified differences between all .seq files in my test program directory, but I did not realize that the version number difference exists in the StationGlobals.ini file, which is stored in a different location.  After discovering this, I modified the version number in one of the files.  However, two releases later, I discovered that the version number mismatches in another two files.  This raises several questions for me :
    1.  Is there a way in Teststand to view all the .seq files where a custom data type is used and then change its version number in one attempt?
    2.  Under what instances does Teststand upgrade the version number of a custom data type?
    3.  Are there any tools or scripts within Teststand that can allow the version number of custom data types to be changed in all .ini files when a difference is discovered between the current production test station settings and a new release?
    Please help.

    I can tell you that your situation is not uncommon with TestStand.  The key is just doing it right the first time.  haha
    #1- I doubt that this is possible because then TestStand would have to know every location of every .seq on the machine.  You will only see it when you open the sequence file.
    #2- TestStand updates the version every time you change it.  You should get a message popup when you try to save that asks if you want to increment the version or not.  There's also a check box that says Remove Modified Mark From Types.  Look under Station Options in the File tab.  There are some settings there about Type conflicts.
