Custom error message using MESSAGE Tag
I am using mulitple input fields in the page and i want to validate them for not empty. If it remains empty then error message should be displayed. This error message is different for every field.
I've used message tad for this purpose. Is there any way to show the custom message according to our own requriements using this message tag???
Thank you
You need to override the default error messages with your own messages properties file which you specify in the faces-config.xml.
Check this for examples:
[http://www.jsf-faq.com/faqs/faces-messages.html#126]
[http://balusc.blogspot.com/2008/07/dao-tutorial-use-in-jsf.html#MessageBundleFile]
For required fields you need to override javax.faces.component.UIInput.REQUIRED.

Error while using Message transform Bean
Hi All,
I am using message transform bean in the receiver channel. The structure I have used is as follows.
Transform.Class com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.Conversion
Transform.ContentType text/xml;charset=utf-8
xml.conversionType SimplePlain2XML
xml.documentName MT_DataExtract
xml.documentNamespace http://ce.corp.com/xi/ACA/HR_INT_XXX/EmployerReporting
xml.endSeperator 'nl'
xml.fieldNames pernr,l_name,f_name,m_name,perid,p_subarea,e_group,e_subgroup,status,c_code,pa_text,str_add,h_city,h_state,h_zcode,z1_org,z2_org,rep_hours
xml.fieldSeperator ,
xml.singleRecordType Employee_Details
XML structure would be as
<Employee_Details>
<pernr></pernr>
- <l_name></l_name> <f_name></f_name>
<m_name />
<perid></perid>
<p_subarea></p_subarea>

<status></status>
<c_code></c_code>

<h_city></h_city>
<h_state></h_state>
<h_zcode></h_zcode>
<z1_org></z1_org>
<z2_org></z2_org>
<rep_hours></rep_hours>
</Employee_Details>
I am getting error as Delivering the message to the application using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: com.sap.aii.af.lib.util.configuration.ConfigurationExceptionSet: The following configuration errors were detected: - Either recordTypes or singleRecordType needs to be set .

Thanks,
ShankulIt's not just that parameter, Please change your configuration as explained in the blog i shared.
There is a example which has expected structure and the conversion parameters.
Your target xml should be like below.
The XML structure of the source file should follow the same structure as the result of the SimplePlain2XML conversion.
<resultset>
<row>
<column-name1>ABC</column-name1>
<column-name2>12345</column-name2>
<column-name3>Text1</column-name3>

Custom Error Pages Using .htaccess
Hi All
Im new to Ironport Nation and would like some help setting up custom error pages
I have an Apache server setup with custom errors but am having trouble with my.htaccess and mod_rewrite i believe it needs to be something like
URL
http://proxy.rlc.qld.edu.au/errors/blocked.html?Time=30/Apr/2008:14:29:56%20+1000&ID=0004221698&Client_IP=10.0.0.13&User=-&Site=www.blodddddgstorm.co.uk&URI=htaccess-mod_rewrite-ultimate-guide/&Status_Code=503&Decision_Tag=OTHER&URL_Cat=nc&WBRS=dns&DVS_Verdict=0&DVS_ThreatName=-
.htaccess
rewriteEngine on
rewriteCond %{query_string} ^URL_Cat=nc&WBRS=dns$
rewriteRule ^errors$ http://proxy.rlc.qld.edu.au/errors/pagenotfound.html [R=301,L]
redirects to
http://proxy.rlc.qld.edu.au/errors/pagenotfound.html
I would also like to incorporate
URL_Cat=nc&WBRS=dns pagenotfound.html
URL_Cat=Adul&WBRS=- adult.html
URL_Cat=Game&WBRS=- games.html
URL_Cat=C_Bloc&WBRS=- custom.html
i know the .htaccess (mod_rewite) is wrong thats where i need help
Thanks in advance
SteveIs there a reason you're trying to use mod_rewrite to do this?
The EUN redirection was designed to be directed to a CGI script, which can then dynamically generate the error page based on the criteria passed in, which allows you to customize the error returned (eg, you can list the full category name which is blocked, for example)
If you really want to have it directing to a static page you can still do this in a CGI script rather than using mod_rewrite.
If you get the config right then mod_rewrite should work, but it's almost certainly going to be overkill... -
Errors to use JSTL Tag in JDeveloper 10g
Hi, folks in JDeveloper:
I have a problem to use JSTL in JDeveloper 10g.
In jsp file: detail.jsp, I include tag library like this:

When I compile/run, the system complain the following errors:
Error(4): java.io.FileNotFoundException: /http:/java.sun.com/jstl/core
Error(4): Unable to load taghandler class: http://java.sun.com/jstl/core
I already put standard.jar and jstl.jar file in WEB-INF/lib directory. I use jakata-struts jstl 1.0
Anybody know how to fix that?
Many thanks.

You should configure the taglibs using the project->libraries option in JDev. If that doesn't help, try adding the taglib URI mappings to web.xml as detailed [url http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=650000&messageID=3823804]here

Can't send message using Messages app on iPad
iOS 5.0 Messages app - can't send message to valid contact using iPhone?
I have been having the same problem. I have a dot mac account wich I use as my primary e-mail account. I receive just fine, I just cannot send using mail. If I loggon to the dot mac website, I can send mail that way. But I cannot send using mail. The strange part is, I can use mail on my iBook (G3), and my daughters eMac (G4). I have checked, they all hace the same options checked in the account settings. But, my pride and joy (iMac G4) refuses to send mail. It gets frustrating having to logon to the website just to send mail. HELP.

EBS 12.1.3: Unable to throw custom error messages back to Excel document
Hi Gurus,
We are on 12.1.3 using Desktop Integration Framework.
I created a API Procedure based custom Integrator.
In the PLSQL procedure, I have raise_application_error(-20009, ‘Custom Error’) but this message never comes through.
It always shows a ‘SQL exception occurred during PL/SQL upload’.
When it is a success, it shows a green smiley which is fine.
But when there is a explicit raise_application_error in plsql proc, I would like the error message to flow all the way back to Excel document.
1.) What should I be using 'API Procedure or API Function' in the Custom Integrator,
2.) Should it return Error Message or FND Message?
Has it worked for anyone in 12.1.3?
Please let me know.
Thanks
Vinodhi ,Vinod
Please check the 'API Returns' is setted with 'FND Message Code' in Interfaces define(Step 2 of 5).

Write SharePoint Custom Error logs into physical location
Hi
I need to programmatically write a custom error logs using SPDiagnosticsService class into my custom physcial location.
But when i use SPDiagnosticsService it will write error logs into 15hive\logs folder instead i want to write into my physical location(say C:\Logs\Error.log)
How to achieve this?
Regards,
SivaHi,
SPDiagnosticsService has a property 'loglocation' and it only points to one location. I reckon, you can not use one location for SharePoint log, another one for custom log - if you use SPDiagnosticsService. What I do for my SharePoint projects is, create
a custom logger, which wrap the SPDiagnosticsService inside. Then My Logger class write the log into some custom location (configurable through web.config or by other means) as well as pass it to SPDiagnosticsService. Having a custom log file for custom solution
helps to find problem very quickly and easily - which would be difficult if you would need to go through large log files. So I can suggest, write a custom logger, wrap SPDiagnosticsService inside the cutom logger. Then on every Log Event, write in your
cusotm file and if you want you can pass the event to SPDiagnosticsService also.
Thanks,

Stop warning dialog from appearing with custom error codes
I have created a custom error file using the 'Error Code Editor', I want to disable the warning dialog that appears when my error codes are detected. How can I do this?
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <nidocument> <nicomment> </nicomment> <nierror code="5000"> SUCCESS </nierror> <nierror code="5012"> INVALID HANDLE </nierror> </nidocument>
I want to stop this from appearing ->Hi eamo2020,
Are you passing your error cluster through to a Simple Error Handler VI (the last function to execute on your block diagram?)
When your custom error is flagged, is it prompting the dialog box each time?
If this is the case, you can set the 'type of dialog' input, as a constant. You set this constant as 'no dialog', from the five options available.
The next time you run your code, the pop up dialog won't appear and you will be able to handle your errors programmatically, instead of through the dialog box.
I hope this helps!

Send custom error message using IDoc conversion rule?
Hello,
I am using an Idoc conversion rule in BD79 to load cost centers. In my conversion rule I use a conversion exit function module to concatenate 2 specific characters and sending cost center value together and then this output value placed in the receiving cost center field. This works fine, but now I want to send a custom error message to the idoc and fail the idoc if the sending cost center value is greater than 8 digits.
Does anyone know how to send an error message or update an idoc with an error message using a conversion rule (bd79)?
Thank you,
RhondaHi Rhonda,
Any luck on the below.. i have a similar issue...

Custom Error message in Login Page
Hi,
I am using MVC framework for my project. I want to display custom error messages to the user in the Login page(JSP).
For eg: invalid password, password has been expired etc. How do I pass these messages from Java to my login page & display it?This is a sample action class for login page in struts : -
package xxx;
import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest;
import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse;
import org.apache.struts.action.ActionError;
import org.apache.struts.action.ActionErrors;
import org.apache.struts.action.ActionForm;
import org.apache.struts.action.ActionForward;
import org.apache.struts.action.ActionMapping;
import LoginForm.java;
public class Action extends org.apache.struts.action.Action
public ActionForward execute(ActionMapping mapping, ActionForm form,
HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
throws Exception {
ActionErrors errors = new ActionErrors();
ActionForward forward = new ActionForward(); // return value
String username;
String password;
try {
LoginForm lf = new LoginForm;
username =lf.getUserName();
password = lf.getPassword();
if( username== null)
forward=mapping.getInputForward();
if( (username == "admin" ) && ( password="admin"))
// do something here
} catch (Exception e) {
// Report the error using the appropriate name and ID.
//Errors will be caught here.
errors.add("name", new ActionError("id"));
// If a message is required, save the specified key(s)
// into the request for use by the <struts:errors> tag.
if (!errors.isEmpty()) {
saveErrors(request, errors);
// Forward control to the appropriate 'failure' URI (change name as desired)
// forward = mapping.findForward("failure");
} else {
// Forward control to the appropriate 'sucuess' URI (change name as desired)
forward = mapping.findForward("success");
// Finish with
return (forward);
You need to have LoginForm.java as Model and Login.jsp as View . Action.java will be your controller. -
Printing custom error Messages in Messages column in WEBADI Excel Template
I have created a Custom PL/SQL API and Custom integrator to upload data in our Custom Table for Receipts and Payments.
Im printing error messages using the RAISE APPLICATION ERROR in the Messages Column of webadi upload spreadsheet. However the error message is getting truncated to 100 characters. Does anyone know why ?
eg: In my PL/SQL API code is RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR(-20001,V_MESSAGE);
I saw in oracle that v_message length can be 2048 bytes (512 characters)..then why is it truncating it
ThanksI think I've resolved this myself (with reference to a few different forum posts!) by changing the javascript in the Error Page Template to:
<script language="javascript">
function getElementsByClass(searchClass,node,tag) {
var classElements = new Array();
if ( node == null ) node = document;
if ( tag == null ) tag = '*';
return node.getElementsByTagName(tag);
function show_error_text() {
errorElements = getElementsByClass("ErrorPageMessage",document,"div");
if (errorElements.length > 0 ) {
errorText = errorElements[0].innerHTML;
search_term = "SSL";
str_check = errorText.indexOf(search_term);
if (str_check==-1) {
search_term = "QMS";
str_check = errorText.indexOf( search_term );
if (str_check > 0) {
errorText = errorText.substr(str_check);
errorText = errorText.substr(0,errorText.indexOf("ORA")-1);
errorText = errorText.replace(/#/g,"~");
url_location = "f?p=&APP_ID.:200:&APP_SESSION.::NO::P200_ERROR_MESSAGE:"+errorText;
window.location = url_location;
show_error_text();
</script>
We know our error codes will always start with SSL or QMS. So this will pass the bit of the Oracle error we're interested in to P200_ERROR_MESSAGE or the full Oracle error if it hasn't been raised by some of our code.
