Custom page extension in muse
in muse can you set the name of pages in the browser?
for instance, if youre on the home page it will say www.yourdomain.com
but if you're on the about page can it say www.yourdomain.com/about
or if you have multiple pages can you do www.yourdomain.com/blog/08-14-14 etc?
is there a way to customize this?
Not sure if Muse allows it but if the site is running in BC you can certainly do that, You can just go into the admin and edit the url of the page.
In terms of the blog, BC does not run in the date URL structure like some other blogs though.
It will be..

Feel like there is a java compatibility issue but I cannot figure out where or with what the java version needs to match up.
I ran the command javap -version on my unix and see that the java version is 1.7.0_25

Error while deploying a custom page oracle.jbo.NoDefException: JBO-25002
Getting below error while deploying custom page ( not extension).Looked into previous threads not going anywhere.
All the VO ,EO are valid. Imported the page into DB successfully, all the files are in JAVA_TOP (*.zip) , bounced the apache.
Worked before in different instance, I think I am missing a step....

How do I add an already built Shopping Cart (PHP and MYSQL) (Cartweaver 4) application to a page in a Muse site? Do I have to export the Muse site as Html to dreamweaver and them use the extension to bring the shooping cart in or can I do it directly in Muse?

We have been working on adding Cartweaver to a Facebook page by essentially adding a Cartweaver store to Facebook in an iframe. The "store" would be pages with just your basic product display, cart, and checkout functionality, with none of the "window dressing" - just use CSS to match the color and general look of the design it's being added to.
The one problem with this for Facebook is when it comes time to check out toy have to leave Facebook and go to your server where an SSL is in place. Fortunately in this situation this would not be the case, you can have an SSL installed to the root of your site and you'll be okay.
This is an interesting project. Give this a try and let me know how it goes and if you run into any snags, please make a post on the Cartweaver forums: http://forums.cartweaver.com - I'm really confident that this can work, and not only work, but work well.

Passing value of View Attribute from standard page to custom page
Hi everyone,
I have a custom page which needs to be called from a standard page. Now this custom page is based on some parameters whose value will depend on the dynamic selection by user. So how to get the currently executed value from VO.
For ex: Vendor Id , contact id and site Id all are to be fetched which are present in three different VOs. When user select particular vendor, contact and site these values will change accordind to selection.
Here do I need to extend the controller and application module of the standard page or it can be done by passing parameters in destination URI of submit button.
I tried using parameters in destination URI of submit button as {VO.ViewAttributeName} and printing in custom page but it was printing " {VO.ViewAttributeName}" as it is.
Please help..

Custom rendering extensions not working in SSRS Report Designer (rsreportdesigner.config)
My custom rendering extension is working in Report Builder (in RSReportServer.config), but not in Report Designer (in RSReportDesigner.config): instead of adding a "TXT" export option, it's just adding a duplicate "CSV" option.
SUMMARY:
Is there a way to get these features working, with Report Designer?

When I add the above "TXT" section to RSReportServer.config, then Report Builder (and production) both show an export option "TXT(ASCII,NoColHds)".
But when I add this "TXT" section to RSReportDesigner.config, and then (in Report Designer / BIDS) attempt to export from a "Preview" of the report, the export drop-down does not show a "CSV" option followed by a "TXT"
option, but instead shows the "CSV" option twice.
This simply limits testing of the export option, to Report Builder... or requires any reports be published from Report Designer before they can be tested with
this export option.
(FYI, why this export option: compliance in our industry requires sending data to government agencies, in text files, with fixed-length columns, and ASCII encoding. Also, we're attempting to give the production of these files to the *users* managing
communication with those agencies... so we're putting them into SSRS.
I worked around the fixed length columns (and no delimiters -- no commas), by writing a version of the report where all string columns are padded, and all columns are concatenated, to form ONE LONG COLUMN... but Reporting Services' CSV export format produces
a Unicode file (UTF-8, which the agency rejected, because it had a leading "", or "EF BB BF" in hex), whereas the agency requires an ASCII file.)Hi Doug_atMidway,
According to your description, you want to enable your custom render extension. Right?
In Reporting Services, if you want to deploy the custom extension, you just need to add the extension into rsreportserver.config file. The
RSReportDesigner.config file stores settings about the rendering extensions available to Report Designer. Since you still use the csv rendering extension in your assembly, we don't need to do any modification in rsreportdesigner.config file. Pleaes

As my question states, I've *already done* both the above: changed (1) rsreportserver.config and (2) rsreportdesigner.config. I added the same code, shown above, to both files. I did that so I could see the new "txt" extension
both (1) when exporting in production and Report Builder, and (2) when exporting in Report Designer's "preview".
The change in (2) is not working: I do not see the "TXT" extension in Report Designer, when I try to export from a preview. Instead, Report Designer shows the CSV extension repeated.
Thanks for the docs. I consulted them (well, I consulted the EQUIVALENT pages, for SQL Server 2008 R2), when creating my block of code above.
Do you see anything to correct, in my code?
Are the features I'm using actually working, with rsreportdesigner.config?

Customizing page size and layouts
Three topics:
CUSTOM PAGE SIZE. There have been lots of requests for the ability to set custom sizes. One "easy" way would be to create page margins in the same way that padding allows cell margins. This way, a user can create (for example) a 10.5x9.5 "page" on a 12x12 platform. Particularly for those of us printing our own, it's one way to allow customization. All of the built-in layouts would then have to be scaled to fit within the page margins.
If this is done, the next logical extension would be to add a few common paper sizes to the Book Settings. This way, a user could create virtually any page size. For example 14W11H on a 13x19 sheet.
COPYING LAYOUTS. Would also be great to "copy-paste" layouts. After I pick a starting layout and then adjust cell padding, move captions, change fonts, and so forth, I'd like to replicate that elsewhere. In fact, I'm trying to create a left-page/right-page 11x11 on the 12x12 platform using cell padding, and it would be great to copy my customized "left-page" layout to all the left pages.
HIGH-QUALITY PRINT YOUR OWN. I've not yet tried printing via exported pdf on my local printer. Will it be as high resolution and as well color managed as if I printed directly from the Print module? I use icc profiles (some from vendors, some custom created) specific to each paper. I've now spent a lot of time narrowing choices of dual-sided paper to print my own books and I don't want to lose that capability.Printing from the exported PDF. The quality I get is exactly just as good as printing any file directly.
I have two methods but they are for my Mac system, but I guess you can interpret them if you are on windows.
1 Set the desired parameters for the PDF in the book module (quality, profile to embed etc) and export to a folder
2 import into Photoshop and adjust the parameters if necessary
In Photoshop "save as" whatever file you wish which you can then print normally from PS or else import into LR and print with profiles from there
3 Printing from the PDF by opening in Adobe Reader, setting Page Setup and then "file-Print"
In Mac choose your paper preset, and under Copies and Pages drop down menu you can find print settings (color adjustment "off" etc.) and under color matching on Mac I choose Color Sync, and "Other Profiles"
which shows me all my custom paper profiles

Another simple way on the Mac is to <right click> or <Control click> on the PDF file and choose "Open with Preview" It's important to choose the correct color profile in the Book Module before exporting to PDF so that the correct profile is used in Preview -

I followed your instruction and all it does is display the pages as "tabs" horizontally on the page. What I actually want is a Side bar on the left hand region exactly like the instructions and example in the Framework developers guide. The set up for a sidebar (according to the developers guide) is much more involved as I posted in my first message above.
An example of a side navbar in e-Business suite can be found under Functional Administrator responsibility > Personalization tab > Import/Export.
I have looked at the menu definitions for this page/function, and I've also had a look in the Page XML but I cannot replicate it with my custom page. The setup used for that example page also does not conform to the OAF developers guide instructions.
So again in the absence of any useable examples in eBusiness Suite I'm rather stuck with the OAF developer's guide so any tips would be gratefully accepted.

And we want to add a custom page to iSupplier application.
Can I use OA Framework extension to develop the page and add it to the application without upgrading the applications techstack.? If Yes, what version of the OA patch do I need to use for development.
If not, is there any way to add a custom page to this application?OAF can be technology of choice only after 11.5.9 . Use JSP instead to develop your custom pages.

Social comment control in custom page layout stucks at "Working" for read access users
Hi,
I created a custom page layout which is attched to my custom content type.
i have a custom field control which is derived from RichImageField.
i have also added a social comment control to the page layout using
<SharePointPortalControls:SocialCommentControl ID="SocialCommentControl1" runat="server" />.
Now the problem is, an user who have read access for a pages library should post comments. but its not working and when the user clicks post button it stucks at working. but when the user is given contribute access then it works and the comments are posted.
And one more thing is if i remove my custom field control from the page layout, then user with read access can post the comment without any issues.
i am sure the issue is caused by my custom field control but dont know how to solve it. i dont want to give contribute access to the users as they can edit the content of the page also. Any help would be appreciated.

AM is not retained after deployed the custom pages
Hi,
I have two custom pages, Create(page1) and Select Jobs(page2) pages.
In Create page I've a button called Populate Jobs, Once I click the populate jobs button it will navigate to another page. In page2 I'll select list of jobs using multiple selection.
Once multiple jobs selected I'm validating those jobs(lines) already added to the page1 when click submit button (available in page2).
Both pages have same AM and I'm retaining AM when I move from page1 to page2. In page 2 if click submit button I try to get all the existing lines which is arendered in page 1.
But i'm getting zero count but records are there. It is working very fine in my machine before deployment. But the AM is not retained after deployed to apps.

Try adding some debugging statements using write diagnostics .
Check to see if VO is getting cleared on loading 2nd page.
Alternate solution would be to add these line id's of the selected lines before forwading.
On 2nd page, get these Id's and do whatever necessary. -
Open a custom page on click of a result from Search Result screen

We are in process of designing the architecture of our sharepoint application. We have a tweeky requirement.
From the default search results page, if user click on one of the result, a custom page should open which not only display the actual result text but this page should have the concatenated string of text from some other items.
For instance:
there are 2 lists:
List A with an item with text "Design: Complex hierarchy"
and List B with an item with text "Design: Hello"
If user searched "Complex" then a click on the result on search results page should open a page with this content
"Design: Complex hierarchy (tab)(tab...) Design:Hello"

You are making a mistake that is common among people new to the forums.

Custom page layouts are not getting displayed in ribbon
Hi,
I have created a custom page layout under welcome category. This is getting displayed in pages library while creating a page and also in page layout option from site settings which is fine. But when a page is in edit mode if we click page->page layouts
from ribbon, all the default page layouts are getting displayed except my custom page layout.
Please advise.

Chaitanya.you have a subsite in a site collection •the publishing feature is activated in the subsite, but not in the site collection •you want to edit/add page layouts on the site collection level, to be used within your subsite •when you open the site collection
in SharePoint Designer, you can't see Page Layouts in the Site Objects panel You now have 2 options: you can either activate the publishing feature in the site collection (and the Page Layouts link comes back), or you can use the All Files link and browse
to the master pages and page layouts library (_catalogs > masterpage.) Either option will do, unless you really don't want the publishing feature in the site collection.
To fix the issue go to Site Actions -> Site Settings in the upper left corner.
Under "Site Collection Administration" click on "Site Collection Features".
Look for "SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure" and activate it. It might take a moment to load.
Next return to "Site Settings" and click on "Manage Site Features"

How do I make a shop page on my Muse website
Hey BC people,
I have built a website with Muse and have got my client to sign up to a BC account that suits their needs. I am wanting to insert a shop page on my Adobe Muse built website. From what I read I could drop a module (created in BC) onto the page and it would work. I built my inventory and placed the module code but I can't get it to display the content with on the page. in the shop http://luckwoodshop.businesscatalyst.com/luckwood-range
Here is the website http://luckwoodshop.businesscatalyst.com/index.html I'd like to have the 'store' page display the items, rather than link them via another button. Is there an easier way to build templates?
Is there a better way to do this? Should I export the site to DW and try and do it there?
I'd rather not use a BC template and I only want the shop module. Is this even possible?

RoseI don't use Muse but from what I hear it's a good starting point but once you publish your Muse site to BC any edits you make on the BC server won't sync back to Muse and vice versa. So-- once you've moved the site over from Muse to BC you should start using BC/Dreamweaver to make future changes to your site.
To that end-- since you are now on BC and want to take advantage of advanced features not in Muse (ie- an online shop) you'll need to start using some BC methods like using sitewide templates.
If you don't have one already, you should create a default page template... basically, just take one of your pages created in Muse and copy the page source and then create a new Template on BC and paste in your code. Anywhere you have main page content, just remove it from the source and replace it with {tag_pagecontent} which is where all the page content like shop products and catalogs will appear. Then, make this site-wide template the default template and have your shop use that template and you should be all set.
On a side note-- you should optimize the background image for your website. Right now you've got a 3mb file as the background image in your link to index.html above. A lot of people are on tablets nowadays using 3g and you are essentially having them download a file the size of a full mp3 song just to see an image that isn't necessary for the site to function-- it's just for the experience layer so you need to make it smaller. For one thing-- if your image has a lot of gradients or colors (like yours does-- it has many gradients) and/or is going to be a high resolution image (like yours) you should be using JPG instead of PNG. JPG gives you more compression options-- try compressing that image to 65-70 compression which should get that image down to size in bits/bytes.
Your whole site is about 4.5 Kilobytes and 3 Kilobytes of that is that one image for the background so you should optimize it/update it to JPG. -
Z3200 won't print to custom page size

I've created a banner that is 23"w x 82"h (in CorelDraw Suite 4). The page setup of the Corel file is 23" w x 82"h. I've been trying to print it on the z3200 designjet, but have had no luck. I created several custom page sizes (23" x 82", 24" x 85", 24" x 82") using both the "Printer Properties" dialogue within CorelDraw as well as adding a "Form" in the "Print Server Properties", none of them work. I've set the correct paper (24" wide HP Bright White Bond, feeding from the roller) on the actual printer itself, and in the Printer Properties.
I've played around with all of the different settings that I can and sometimes see the following error message:
[1/1]Paper size selected (width:23.00 inches, height: 82.00 inches) is larger than loaded paper (width: 24 inches). Please verify your printer setup.
When the page prints, it is resizing the content to be 8.5" wide.
I don't know what I'm missing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
