How do i make a text field that starts with "Dear" then pulls a name from a different field, then finishes with a comma?

If the other field's name is "Name", let's say, you can use this code as the custom calculation code of the field:

IExpenses-12.1.3 Facing Issue with 2 custom text fields on the standard OAF

Dear All,
We are facing problem where custom text fields on standard OAF page does not retain their values when we traverse back-forth on the OAF page.
Here is the exact issue details
1) We added 2 text fields(Attribute5 and Attribute6) through personalization on Mileage Line Details Screen(standard OAF page) of iExpenses 12.1.3.
2) And business requirement is whenever user enters values into these fields, difference of these values is populated in third field which is standard field on that page.
Issue
When user enters values into above 2 fields, difference is calculated correctly however once he clicks on return page and comes back again on the detail page
then all the standard fields retain their values but 2 custom fields have blank value.
Is there any issue with personalization? or any other issue? Please suggest.

There is button named as "Calculate Amount" on the line details page so it is happening in below 2 scenario
1) When User enters values in 2 fields and clicks on Calculate Amount Button then values get disappeared from custom fields
2) When user clicks on return button, go to main page and clicks on detail button ( to come back on same line) then all the standard fields have valuece and custom one's disappeared.

Ability to update a custom text field across multiple projects in a grid type view

We have a project level custom field for the Project Owner to enter an Executive Level project status. A project owner will have many projects. Right now the owner has to open each project individually, update the text field and save which can
take a considerable amount of time. We would like to have the ability to have the project list with the text field in a grid (looks like an excel sheet) with the ability to update the text field directly from the grid. Is there some way
to do this?

Which project version are you using?
Anyway there is no "excel-like" way to bulk edit proejct field, such as you can do for the resources. The project center is unfortunately a read-only view.
For PS2010, the
bulk edit tool allows you bulk editing pronot be "excel-like" meaning updating the value in rows. You'll have to select the project with the same value for the custom field and enter the value once and validate and redo this process for each proejct field
value.
Otherwise third-party tools are available on the market for this purpose:

And I was looking for a script that could possibly send an email to me with the info a user chooses from/puts in 1. dropdown menu 2. text field 3. another text field. I'd be awesome if the fields could have a custom background or a transparent background.The drop-down menu could have any background, but it would be awesome if it could be made with custom images !

Please Help me with FormCalc Customized Text Field

A while ago someone online did a great thing for me- they helped me create a Text field that would type "This document was printed on _________" and include whatever day the pdf form was printed off our employer's intranet site.
I had a shortcut to it in my favorites and would click on it and plave it on every new document I needed it to be on.
Since the computer I was using suddenly crashed, I cannot find the details of how to set this up again. I have a pdf form that includes the box, but when I open it in LiveCycle, it is just blank.
This is what I saved:

I do not remember what to do to get this working.
I use this "Printed On" textbox ALL the time, and I need to figure out what to do to get it working again quickly.
If there is anyone who could help me, I could also send you a sample of a form that includes it- then you can see exactly what I mean.
If someone could remind me how to program this kind of thing in once again and save it in LiveCycle, then explain how I can put it on another computer as well, I would really, REALLY appreciate it.

PS- this one as I had it set up only prints the Printed on message/date on the first page. If it could somehow print on EVERY page of the PDF without me having to click and add it to every single page individually, that would be even better... but first things first!

Now just wondering, is there any way for this to appear on every page, or would I have to place this box on every page?
I have ~20 page documents and I have had requests to have this "printed on" show up on every page, but doing so seems like ti would be very time consuming.

Custom Metadata Text Field not working

Hi everyone-
I'm trying to create a Metadata layout the will be a template for all of the editors in my company. I've created a New Schema and added a few custom text fields. The problem is I can't add anything to the text fields, as they are greyed out and unusable (see far right in image). Any ideas of why this might be happening?

I wanted to follow up on this with you. I ended up creating a "template" project for our filmers to use so we all log our footage the same way. I ended up using an existing schema and adding new, custom text fields. I did a few tests on my system and everything seemed to be working fine. Our filmers are now on a shoot and are beginning to log their footage with our "template". When they enter data in the custom text fields, they end up getting a crash about every 4-6 clips. When they reload their project, none of the logged files have saved in the bin. Any thoughts on why this is happening? Our filmers are using the new MBP.
One other note.. when they enter text into the "description" and other text fields that are not Custom Fields, everything seems to be OK.
Your help / insight would be greatly appreciated!

How to add custom text on ISA B2B Order

On Order page of ISA B2B I have created a custom text field "Shipping Attention".When I try to add this text in the header like
header.addExtensionData("Z123","Value") in Z_BasketRefreshAction which extends MaintainBasketDispatcherAction, it is not reflecting in the "Shipping Attn"(created in the text tab in CRM) field in CRM system.
The flow:

Hello,
You have covered the first two layers of the request - response cycle cake - the View (JSP) and the Control (Java) layers. The icing is done in the backend BAdI and using the right function module. I am assuming the CRM backend.
A typical request-response in the application goes like this. I will give example for the header extensions.
Added the custom variable in the HTML layer (JSP page)
Traversed through the Dispatcher, Parser and get the input value from the JSP page variable and added it to the Business Object (Header) using addExtensionData.
The java application layer actually makes an "Update Header" call during the update cycle - like when you click that "Update" button.
In the SAP E-Commerce design, during this "update" cycles, the application flows through specific BAdI call sequence. It calls what I call the Header BAdI CRM_ISA_BASKET_HEAD when the header information is updated. You have to extend this BAdI and implement at least two methods.
It has two methods - which are called during this request - response cycle. First method CHANGEHEAD_SET_DATA is called during the request cycle - that is from ISA to CRM (when update is clicked). This is where your extension data has to be transferred from the Java layer to the backend layer (model). You will essentially read from the table IT_EXTENSION and call SAVE_TEXT function module. Since your requirement is to update text, this is the FM to be called. Many other cases use the FM mentioned by Mike. This is where the data from the web layer is persisted in the backend model.
And the other method GETHEAD_GET_DATA is called during the response cycle. In this method, you will essentially read from the model - in your case READ_TEXT and set it back in the extension layer CT_EXTENSION
The update header call from the Java layer will now receive the data back from the model and will automagically transfer the values from the backend (ABAP layer) back to the Java layer to be accessible by you in the JSP using getExtensionData call.
What you have to do are the steps .5 and 6 in order to complete the request-response cycle.

Problems with customer text objects in ZDEBMAS definition

   We have a Z* version ( ZDEBMAS ) of std customer chg pointer msg type DEBMAS - this ZDEBMAS is a shortened version of DEBMAS
We notice that whenever customer related texts are changed in customer master, change pointer objects with CD class - CUSTTEXT, TABLE-STXH get generated for the DEBMAS msg type. No such change pointer data gets generated for my ZDEBMAS.
I do not see any CD class with 'CUSSTEXT' entry in the definition of DEBMAS message type -bd52.
I basically want to replicate the customer text data change pointer generation functionality for my 'ZDEBMAS' msg type too ? Any pointers so to what I am missing ?
We are at a very critical stage of implementing the Z* solution - any pointers will be rewarded right away ....

         Thanks for the quick response. Yes the change pointers are activated globally ( bd61 ) and the change pointer is activated for ZDEBMAS ( bd50 ). The problem here is that - change pointer data gets generated in ZDEBMAS for other customer related fields - the problem is with customer text fields - the change pointer data does not get generated for customer text fields in ZDEBMAS - whereas it gets generated for DEBMAS - I am wondering why and how ?? ( since DEBMAS does not have an explicity CUSTTEXT - object class in its definition ) . Also, when I try to add this object class as a part of ZDEBMAS , I get an error message that this object class does not exist

Hi,
You can try with the TEXT schemas, you can configure this as i mentioned below:
First, you need to create a text schema since BBP_PD_PO SPRO --> Supplier Relationship Management --> Cross aplication Basic Settings --> Text Schema --> Define Text Schema.
There you can create your own text schema with the characteristics that you want for example: If you want that text schema appears in the header of the document or in the item or both, If you want that text schema is able for modifications or is only a view ....................
Secod, when you have the name of your text schema you need to asign for the document that you want in
PD_PO SPRO --> Supplier Relationship Management --> Cross aplication Basic Settings --> Define transaction types for every document type you can specify the text schema that you want to assign.
If this solution doesn´t solve your issue maybe you can create a custom field ("Z") with data type "LRAW" this type is very big.

MS Project 2010 customizing duration field in hours

I have a problem:
My Schedule are defined in days (duration). This is ok, but I want for me a 2nd column with the duration calculated in hours. Is it possible?

You would need to create a custom field containing a formula to do the necessary calculation. If it were me, I would use a custom Text field and rename it as something like Duration in Hours. In that custom Text field, I would use the following
formula:
([Duration])/60 & "h"
Also, when you create the custom Text field, be sure to select the Use Formula option in the Calculation for Task and Group Summary Rows section of the Custom Fields dialog. Keep in mind that the preceding formula assumes an 8-hour working day.

Adding a text field in a custom infotype

Hi,
I have a custom infotype which deals with sickness data of the employee
My requirement is that the user will enter an explaianation for his sickness...etc. Thus I need to incorporate a text field in my infotype.
What I am planning is to give a button on the screen of infotype, so when user clicks it a text editor will open and and he can insert or update his sickness text data.
Please tell me how do i do that and also if there is any alternate better approach.

you need to make a custom container on which you have to put editor
use class cl_gui_custom_container, cl_gui_text_editor, first define instances in top include then create objects. if you want this to be done when you click on any button then put this coding in the function code of that button.

I think KNVV would be the starting table and the text tables would be related to KNVV. When doing an F1 on the short and long text fields I get RTEXT-TTEXT and RTEXT-LTEXT but these can't be used in an SQ01 query.

QM03-Custom tab-Change to text field not reflecting-FG - XQQM-screen-0106

I have a requirement to change the text field on a custom tab of QM03 transaction. Quality notification type is Z1 and the tab is "Checklist". Both are custom defined.
The existing text field is of 3 lines. The new text message is of 8 lines. When I did the changes on the custom screen 0106 in the function group XQQM, the changes are not reflected on the QM03 transaction's custom tab. Only first 3 lines were reflecting the change and rest of the 5 lines are not appearing on the screen.

I had a similar problem, but it was with the message line. I found that with Web Forms, I had to issue the Synchronize; a second time, but in Client/Server Forms 6i, the first synchronize worked. Here is the code I used:
