Custom xml transformer provider for xml iview template

I have been trying to get a custom simple xml transformer to work, which will show up in the xml iview template.  I have seen the SAP Help docs and the recent weblogs on the subject.  I can't get this simple transform functionality to work.  I can get as far as registering my own transformer, however I get an error on the page when trying to use it: "Error while using XML iView, please contact your system administrator."  My understanding was all I needed to do was provide a xsl, a transformers.xml file, and a service reference in the portalapp.xml.
All I really want to do is take some xml docs I created and display them in the portal.  I know that I can write a quick java app to do this myself.  However, I am trying to use the built in functionality of the portal (which it appears no one is using except for RSS feeds).
I would prefer to have the output be htmlb from my xsl file.  My understanding was that I should create my own xml tranformer provider and then also use the XHTMLB --> HTMLB built in transformer.
Has anyone been successful in trying to create their own xml transformer for the xml iView?
I am wasting a lot of time trying to use methods in the SAP Help Docs, is it worth the effort to use the transformer method?
Eager to award points,
Sean

Hi
I have successfully deployed a transformer by doing the following:
In PAR, in /dist/xml/XSLLibrary/Transformers, put XSL
In /dist/xml, put transformers.xml file that describes the XSL
In portalapp.xml, add registry entry for transformer and service entry for transformer service.
If you want, you can send transformer PAR and I can look at it ([email protected]).
There could be something wrong with the XSL; this would be more complicated to diagnose.

  • Transformation provider for AD in OIM 11g R1

    Hi,
    I have to write a transformation provider for reading AD object id from Ad and storing it in OIM.
    AD object id is in some byte form in AD, I have to write a transformation provider to convert it in String format.
    In this I am unable to find Jar containing "oracle.iam.connectors.common.transform.Transformation" interface.
    Can any one help me on this?
    Thanks!!!

    This comes with AD connector. Have you installed AD connector? If yes, then you can find this jar in <OIM_HOME>/server/ScheduleTasks folder. If not yet installed, then how are you accessing AD? Are you using any custom connector?
    You can get AD connector from here:

  • XML SCHEMA registration for XML TYPE (storing XML files in Oracle 10g)

    I have created the XML Schema for the XML file stored in Oracle 10g and also added this Schema into the database. I have related that schema with the column in the table which contains the XML file. When i execute the query to fetch the data from the stored file i am getting a blank resultset. Is registering the XML Schema is necessary, if yes then please let me know the process of doing it. I have tried following steps to register Schema, but it is not working
    Step1:
    DECLARE
    v_return BOOLEAN;
    BEGIN
    v_return := dbms_xdb.createFolder('/home/');
    v_return := dbms_xdb.createFolder('/home/DEV/');
    v_return := dbms_xdb.createFolder('/home/DEV/xsd/');
    v_return := dbms_xdb.createFolder('/home/DEV/messages/');
    v_return := dbms_xdb.createFolder('/home/DEV/employees/');
    COMMIT;
    END;
    STEP 2:
    Connecting To XML DB
    Step3:
    Register XML schema
    I am failing to execute step number 2 and hence not able to register the schema also.

    are you trying to transform XML to itab?
    is the xml well formed one - you can check this by running the xml file in webbrowser, if it doesnt display, then it means the xml is not well formed.

  • Problem Deploying Custom Transformation Provider to Remote System

    Hello Experts,
    I have successfully created a custom XML Transformation Provider/transformer and deployed it to my local development system and to a remote sandbox system. We are using NWDI and the transformation provider is within the context of a DC.  However, I am deploying to both my local dev and the remote sandbox systems using the u201CQuick PAR Uploadu201D in NWDS.
    After deploying the same PAR to both my local portal and the remote sandbox systems I can see the new service is deployed in both portals (System Administation -> Support -> Runtime -> etc..).  I can also see the service registered successfully in the portal registryu2014again, in both systems.
    Everything works fine on my local dev when I run code to retrieve and apply the custom transformer to source XML.  The new transformer is also available when creating an XML iView.   However, I cannot retrieve or use the new transformer (u201Cno such transformeru201D errors) using the same code on the remote sandbox system.  Also, the new transformer is not available when using the XML iView wizard.
    It seems the custom transformation provider is deploying successfully on the remote system, but the transformer is not.
    Both systems are ostensibly identical, NW 7.0 EP SPS14.  The credentials Iu2019m using when performing the Quick PAR Upload have Administrator/Super Admin Role privileges.  (I even tried uploading the PAR directly into the portal using the Admin Console to see if that made a differenceu2026it did not).
    Any ideas why a transformer would not be available after a custom transformation provider deploys without any apparent errors to the remote system?
    Thanks for your time!

    Hi,
    I presume this issue is not that common.
    Any ideas on where to look (logs) for results after a PAR is deployed to the server?  I do not see any errors in the defaultTrace related to the deployment and I've looked through other logs, too.  In any case, the "custom" transformation provider service appears in the portal, but I still don't see the tranformer itself.
    Thanks again,
    Dave

    Hello,
    Try to remove and recreate your package and scenario, I had the same issue and solved doing it.
    It seems for me that the package cannot update its contents, for example, if you change something in your interface, you must recreate your package and scenario to update the changes.
    What ODI version do you use? If you use an old version, try to update to ODI 10.1.3.5

  • Error: while trying to invoke the method javax.xml.transform.Transformer.

    Hi All,
    I am working on Version 12.1.8 Build(20),  I have referred  SAP notes 1294013 and placed the following files
    - serializer.jar
    - xalan.jar
    - xercesImpl.jar
    - xml-apis.jar
    - xsltc.jar
    in the specified path.
    now when i use XSLT transformation block using IllumRowsetTableWithPageBreaks.xsl i am getting an error
    [ERROR] [XSL_Transformation_0]XSLTransform error: while trying to invoke the method javax.xml.transform.Transformer.transform(javax.xml.transform.Source, javax.xml.transform.Result) of an object loaded from local variable 'processor'
    please guide me.

    Hi Alex,
    No, the case you have explained is not applicable to me. Sharing the code snippet for your reference. This is the code due to which my XSLT gives an error, if I remove these lines of code then the XSLT works fine.
    <xsl:variable name="ENERGY" select="translate(ENERGY,',','')">
         <xsl:choose>
              <xsl:when test="ENERGY= ''">
                   <xsl:value-of select="0.00"/>
              </xsl:when>
              <xsl:otherwise>
                   <xsl:value-of select="ENERGY"/>
              </xsl:otherwise>
         </xsl:choose>
    </xsl:variable>
    Also, the same XSLT works absolutely fine in 12.1 but gives error in 14.0 SP05.

  • "Error while using XML iview" with XML iview template

    Our portal platform: HP-UX,  WAS 6.40 JAVA, EP 6.0 SP14
    We created an XML iview using XML iview template and configured the XML source URL with RSS feeder addresses such as"https://forums.sdn.sap.com/rss/rssmessages.jsp?forumID=41". And then select RSS to XHTMLB as the XML transformation format and save.  When I try to preview the iview, I always got error "Error while using XML iview, please contact your system administrator".  Here is the log and among which I found an error "java.net.UnknownHostException: news.163.com".  Does this indicate that the Portal server is not able to interpret the address of the URL host?

  • XML transformation for internal table

    Hi Experts,
    Here is the sample transformation code which is generated for a transformation I had created.
    <?sap.transform simple?>
    <tt:transform xmlns:tt="http://www.sap.com/transformation-templates" xmlns:ddic="http://www.sap.com/abapxml/types/dictionary" xmlns:def="http://www.sap.com/abapxml/types/defined">
      <tt:root name="ROOT" type="?"/>
      <tt:root name="ZPAYLOAD" type="ddic:ZPAYDATA"/>
      <tt:template>
       <payload-data>
        <record>
         <rec-data>
          <tt:loop ref=".ZPAYLOAD">
            <DATA tt:value-ref = 'DATA'/>
          </tt:loop>
         </rec-data>
        </record>
        </payload-data>
      </tt:template>
    </tt:transform>
    Here I am passing an internal table with only one field which has three lines say 'Line1', 'Line2',' Line3' to the multi-line structure 'DATA' in the transformation.
    when I receive the XML structure from transformation, It looks as like below.
    <payload-data>
    <record>
    <rec-data>
    <DATA>Line1</DATA>
    <DATA>Line2</DATA>
    <DATA>Line3</DATA>
    </payload-data>
    </record>
    </rec-data>
    However I want the XML structure like
    <payload-data>
    <record>
    <rec-data>
    <DATA>
    Line1
    Line2
    Line3
    </DATA>
    </payload-data>
    </record>
    </rec-data>
    Is it possible to receive the XML structure like above in the XML transformation?
    It would be great, if you can provide the solution at the earliest.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi kaushik,
    have you found a solution to this problem? I have the same requirement.

  • 3rd party integration: How to get XML Schema (.xsd) for a custom entity, to use with a mapper

    Is there an easy way to get the xml schema/DTD for a custom entity, specifically an .XSD file for that entity (which will then be used to create a map to be able to transform the fields of the entity to a 3rd-party message format)?
    So have a custom entity with lots and lots of fields. Each of the fields will map to a differently named field to match the schema of the 3rd party entity. A very common situation. Looking to use a tool like the Biztalk mapper or Altova's MapForce to generate
    an .xslt file to transform the downloaded entity (service.Retrieve with all columns) to the new format. (Will implement a typical VETR pattern.)
    Apparently with CRM 4 there was a call that provided this, but from 2011 has not been available. Working with a crm 2015 system.

    That will give a descriptor of the table and allow creation of an .XSD file, but it's really complex in terms of types, and the there's type conversion. It might be an easy way to get a schema, with the downside being it's hard to use that schema.
    It seems easier to do a fetch of the record with all fields filled in using service.Retrieve, and then converting this to xml, using Microsoft's guidance leads to using https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh675409.aspx which will serialize the entity
    into XML with all the fields converted to type string, and with complex fields likewise converted to strings with additional information about the type.
    Using this it's possible using an number of tools to create an easier to use .XSD file.
    However, it would seem most integrations of this type are using 3rd party CRM connectors. Perhaps this is why Microsoft hasn't provided anything direct (and took away what they did have in crm4.0 due to it generating a hard to use .XSD or due to letting
    their partners continue income streams from selling connectors").
    But without using 3rd party connectors, or following the still tedious method of generating .XSD (a useable .xsd), have not yet come up with an easy, automatic way to get an .XSD or to easily integrate with 3rd party message format.

    Hi Mariano
    Why you need to use XSLT for transforming XML file into ABAP table
    Code is a part of some ABAP report. Looks like it is reading a file from file system and updating table after transformation
    If you have requirement like you need to read XML file and then insert the data into a SAP table
    You can use
    File to RFC
    File to Proxy scenario using SAP PI.
    Please provide more inputs on requirement to help
    Thanks

  • How to use 3rd party jar files for xml transform

    Hi all,
    Am using OAS9.0.4 and I deployed my .ear successfully.
    In my application am using 4 jar files for xml transformation. (xerces.jar, xalan.jar, xml-apis.jar,xercesImpl.jar)
    OAS has its own xmlparserv2.jar file. Its using this jar file for transforming xml data and not even looking for above mentioned 4 jar files.
    In opmn.xml, I provided these 4 jar files in to class path. Then also it didn't effect my output.
    I also tried as put these 4 jar files into j2ee\home\applib directory, but o result.
    Can anybody tell me where should I keep these 4 jar files in OAS and OAS should use these 4 jar files instead of its own xmlparserv2.jar for transforming data.
    Thanks in Anticipation,
    Regards,
    RK

    Add the Xbootclasspath variable in the java-options field. It will somewhat look like the following in your opmn.xml file
    <process-type id="<OC4J Instance Name>" module-id="OC4J">
    <module-data>
    <category id="start-parameters">
    <data id="java-options value="........... -Xbootclasspath^/a:<location of your jar files>" />
    Ensure to use th ^/a (append) signature

  • Custom XML Transformer Error

    I have created a custom XML Transformer using the SAP Library article:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e1/98e14110340b7fe10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    I created the project and uploaded the PAR file but when I try to create an XML iView I get to the part where I enter the URL and when I click "Next" I get the following error:
    Caused by: com.sapportals.portal.prt.core.broker.PortalApplicationNotFoundException: Could not find portal application com.sap.portal.EmptyTransformersProvider...
    In the PAR Structure section it says - The Par File must have the following folder structure:
    dist->PORTAL-INF->portalapp.xml
    dist->PORTAL-INF->xml->XSLLibrary->Transformers (My custom XSL File (stock.xsl) is HERE)
    dist->PORTAL-INF->xml->Transfomers.xml
    This I have completed however, it also shows two files under the project:
    EmptyTransformersProvider.etz
    com.sap.portal.EmptyTransformersProvider.par
    What are these files and how do I create/add them?
    I noted that the name of the Project created here is EmptyTransformersProvider but my project is named ep_sts does this matter?
    Also if it matters:  this is a DC which I created in NWDS using Enterprise Portal->Portal Application Module.
    Lastly I have tested the XSL using Internet explorer and an XML File and it workes fine so I would assume it is not the XSL causing the error.

    Hello
    As i've created my own transform according to the tutorial, it doesnt appear in the list of available transforms either in the xml iview wizard or editor.
    Any idea ?
    previously I had the same error resolved by naming the project with the right name.
    Thanks

    We don't use any proxy servers in our network.  I have also tried to configure the proxy settings in system configuration and restart the service but the error keeps unchanged.
    We are almost desperated but without the XML iview Portal means nothing to us.

    Thank you for replying, Prem.
    We don't have to go though a proxy server to access the internet.  And the XML source URL is from our internal server netword.  So I believe that we don't need to configure the proxy setting in this case.
    We have also tried to configure the proxy settings as instructed in many messages but it still doesn't work.
    Is there anything else that we might be missing for creating an XML iview?
