Customizing Layout of Query Component

Can i customize layout of fields in query component? I searched it but could not find anything about it either in documentation or in books?

No i want to have same functionality as we can in forms like visually grouping certain fields, adding headings on groups and like that.
I have searched through but nothing find much useful. It seems either i have to build my own query component or extend query component. If any body knows related material / book, kindly tell me.

  • Designing Layout of Query Component

    Hi, I am using the query component both in basic and advanced mode. I just want to know whether i can change the layout pattern of fields in query component or not. If yes, then please provide some guidelines.

    You basically build an input form and design it anyway you want, and then use a button on the page to invoke an AM method that will set the VO to use the named view criteria you want.
    Something along the lines of this:

  • Add custom field to af:query component?

    Anyone had any experience overriding af:query copmonent? I need to add my custom search field (to query component), which would have a search icon next to it, and on click, a popup widow would open containing my custom task flow where I could select a record with certain value and on return that custom field (in query component) would get populated with selected value. I hope I'm being clear. Please point me to any useful information. Is that even possible? I use JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.4.0 Regards, Marko

    Hi,
    af:query is a component that comes as is. Its not designed for customization in that you can add your own fields. If you have a requirement for this then
    1. expose a method on the VO Impl or AM Impl that expect arguments (your query parameters)
    2. Use the arguments to populate bind variables used by a ViewCriteria
    3. Apply the View Criteria to the View Object
    4. Execte the View Object
    5. Drag and drop the method from the DC panel as a parameter form
    6. Ensure the result table PartialTrigger property is pointing to the button ID of the parameter form
    7. Change whatever UI component you want to change in the parameter form
    This gets you going ...

  • How to migrate Stellent 7.5.1 custom layout component to OCS 10gR3

    Hi,
    I am in the process of upgrading stellent 7.5.1 to OCS 10gR3. There is a custom layout component in 7.5.1 wanted to find out how can I migrate the layout component. As probably there are changes in 10gR3 so want to find out how to migrate the custom layout component and any changes required before migrating to 10gR3.
    Thanks.

    Hi
    am putting out the steps needed for upgrading an existing CS instance from version 7.5.1 to 10gR3. Its basically a 2 step process where we use Configuration Migration Utility to migrate the CS structure and Archiver to migrate the existing contents. The steps are as follows :
    1. Install a new CS 10gR3 instance on the server and configure it as per the install guide.
    2. Verify that the basic functionalities for the newly installed instance is working fine by doing some simple tests like checkin ,checkout , update etc. Then upgrade the CS to the latest patchset level which can be downloaded from http://updates.oracle.com/download/6907073.html.
    3. Install the latest version of Configuration Migration Utility component (which is found in the same uprgade patch set ) on both the 10gR3 CS (target) instance and the 7.5.1 CS (source).Enable them on both the CS instances and restart the same.
    4. Run the Configuration Migration Utility on the source CS and download the CMU Bundle created on it.
    5. Upload the CMU Bundle created in previous step to the Target CS and import the configurations from that.Verify that the CMU process is completed successfully on the Target CS instance.
    6. Create a new archiver instance on the Source CS and export all the contents in that.
    7. Open the Archiver Applet for the target CS instance and then Point the collections to the collections.hda of the source CS instance so that we can import the contents. Start the Import process on target server.
    8. Once the CMU and Archiver Process are completed then your 10gR3 CS would be an exact replica of the Source 7.5.1 Instance.
    You may also go through System Migration Guide to get more understanding on the Migration / Upgrade processes.
    Hope this helps

  • Bug : Customizing af:query component

    Hi,
    I am using jdev 11.1.1.6.0 version. I want to know how i can customize the error messages displayed by an af:query component. Example: suppose i am using advanced search on a field called productId. The search criteria used is 'Between' and if i mention only one value in the text field and the other text field is empty. Error message pops up saying that Attribute ProductId is required. I want to customize this message with my own error message. How can i achieve this ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Customizing af:query component?

    Hello friends,
    Is it possible to customize af:query component. For example i need to move "search", "reset","save" buttons to the toolbar of the component and change the background of the toolbar. Also i have a request to hide that "+/-" thing which make able user to collapse or disclose af:query form.
    Is it possible or only way to achieve this is to create my own search mechanism - what i can imagine could take a while?
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
    as far as color coding goes, you can use skinning for this. Look for "af:query component" in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/apirefs.1111/e15862/toc.htm
    This should also allow you to hide the +/- icons. However, it does not allow you to move buttons

  • Query regarding : af:query component

    In af:query my requirement is to add one search field which looks like :
    "*Label*" "*Drop down List*" "*Input Text field*"
    For the other fields which have only
    "Label" and one other Component type i am using QueryDefinition.addAttributeDefinition But how to add two components with Label.

    Not sure if you can change the af:query component to do this , but you can easily build your own search form and in this form build your own layout.

  • Af:query component added field not removed when remove icon is clicked

    I have an af:query component on a popup dialog. In advanced mode when I add a field, the new field appears in the searchRegion followed by a red X remove icon. If I subsequently click that remove icon, the query refreshes, the red icon is gone, but the newly added field still remains. The query component is linked to a standard VO query executable in the bindings. There is no custom processing of the value, model, queryListener or the queryOperationListener. In all other respects the query component works fine. The only problem is a newly added field not being removed when the remove icon is clicked. Here's how the component is setup (an added wrinkle is that the query component is hosted in a Declarative Component, so that makes this code a little harder to decipher).
    Does anyone know where I should start looking for this? Hopefully I don't have to implement my own queryOperationListener.

  • Aligning fields horizontally in af:query component

    Hi friends,
    i am developing a search region using the named criteria of my VO by dragging it. This created an af:query component in the search region. However the fields are displayed in rows in the search region. I want to align these fields so that all the fields are displayed in a single row. also how can I set the length of the fields.
    Any ideas or hints how to do this.

  • Accessing fields of the af:Query Component

    Hi all,
    I need to get the value of a dynamic field that is added to the query component at runtime.
    In my application there is field named "Member Id" which adds a "select one component" in the advanced search mode.
    This "select one component" has a string value "self".
    What I need to do is,
    When the value "self" is selected from the "select one component" I need to use the Id of the user
    as the "Member Id" for the search query.
    Is it possible achive this by using af:query component ? or is there a different approch?
    I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.1
    Thanks,
    Melaka

    Melaka,
    first create a custom View Object Class for your View Object from the Java Classes pane. Then override the buildQuery() method of the ViewObjectImpl by writing the following code:
    @Override
    protected String buildQuery(int noUserParams, boolean forRowCount) {
    // call super.buildQuery() to allow the framework to build the query
    String query = super.buildQuery(noUserParams, forRowCount);
    // here you will modify the query
    // if the query contains your keyword
    if (query.contains("'self'")) {
    // replace it with the actual user id
    // return the modified query
    return query;
    I am sure there are other cleaner ways to accomplish this.
    Consider for example using two separate attributes: one Transient for your "Member Id" query criteria - what is shown to the user - and another attribute actually mapped to a column that is used for querying. You set the value of the second attribute as the first one changes.

  • Custom Layout for Web Page Composer

    Hi everybody,
    I'm tring to follow a guide, to create a custom layout for the web page composer.
    This guide:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/804bedee-377e-2e10-0f83-d5b33c743dbc?QuickLink=index&…
    I builded the portal project and I deployed it on the portal.
    Actualy i can see and select my custom layout and i can drop the element on the container from the page builder, but, when i save the content I can't see any elements anymore.
    If I publish the page I see my custom Layout... but empty, without any paragraph or article.
    Do u have any idea on why this could appen ?
    Best regards Enrico.

  • Best practice DataGroup and custom layout

    Hello,
    Some times ago, i made a little TimeLine component in flex 3, the component was very limited in terms of possibility, mainly because of performance issues.
    With flex 4 and virtualisation in layout i thought it was easier to create my component.
    But i'm confronted to some problems.
    I try to extend DataGroup, with a fixed custom Layout, but i have 2 problems :
    -The first one is that  size and position of elements will depends of the dataProvider of the component, so i need to have a direct dependance of the component in my layout.
    -And the main one is depth of the element will depends of data and i don't see a way of updating it in my layout.
    Should i stop using DataGroup and try to implement it directly from UIComponent and IViewPort implementation with a sort of manual virtualisation?
    Should i override the dataProvider setter to sort it the way element depth should be set ?
    Should i use BasicLayout and access directly to property from the DataGroup in itemRenderer to set top left width and height ?
    I'm a little lost and any advice would be a great help.
    Thanks.

    user8410696,
    Sounds like you need a simple resource loading histogram with a threshold limit displayed for each project. I don't know if you are layout saavy but layouts can be customized to fit your exact needs. Sometimes P6 cannot display exactly what you desire but most basic layouts can be tweaked to fit. I believe that you need a combo of resource profiles and columns.
    I'll take some time today and do some tweeking on my end to see if I can modify one of my resource layouts to fit your needs. I'll let you know what I find out.
    talk to you later,

  • af:query component - need help

    hi
    I am implemeting a search page wiht <af:query> component with view criteria. (to be specific drag and drop viewCriteria as query panel with table)
    what i observe is that when I do "Add fields" at runtime the compnent moves up and up till it hides the panelHeader and the other fields with no access to it.
    After i refresh the screen the component comes back to its normal positon but pushes the table component below it down till its barely visible.
    This component seems to be very unstable.
    Let me know if there is any workaround without making the screen unstable.

    Hi,
    You can find some related info here..

  • Configurable layout of query panel inputs

    How does one configure a query component to allow the view criteria fields in a view object to be displayed in a certain way? I have a business requirement to align 4 input fields side by side and was wondering if there was a way to do this with the query panel as I would like some of the features that come along with it or if I need to attempt this issue another way.
    Thanks

    Good to know, I will do something similar for a short-term work around but have the feeling I will need to arrange stuff in more details.
    It looks like 11gR2 solves this issue with the UI layout tools included but i'm surprised there is not a simple programmatic way to define groups in a query box.

  • Help - Creating a Custom Layout

    Hy, I'm creating a Grphical Programming Language,
    where user draw flowcharts by linking buttons.
    My problem is:
    After adding some buttons on the panel,
    the scrollBars does not appear.
    (I have set layout to be NULL so that I can add the buttons
    at specific position on the pane).
    I think I need to create a custom layout, but with a layout,
    after adding buttons on the panel and position them to specific
    location, when I maximize/restore the window, the buttons return
    to their initial position.
    Can anyone please send me the code for creating a custom layout (imagine
    that you are drawing a flowchart by adding buttons).
    NOTE: The buttons should stay at their position while maximizing/restoring
    the window.
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
    I'm currently working in a project that for what I understood is quite similar to yours...
    The way I solved the problem, was creating a virtual-grid. When the user adds the button, I have to methods (getRow() and getColumn())
    that convert the mouse coordinates to row and grid numbers. Then knowing the row and the column, I multiply this values for the row
    width and column height, and have the X and Y position where to add the button in the JPanel.
    Here is some of the code:
    public int getColumn(int x)//mouse coordinate x
            column=(int)(x/COL_WIDTH+1);
            if(maxColumn<column)
                maxColumn=column;
            return column;
        public int getRow(int y)//mouse coordinate y
            row=(int)(y/COL_HEIGHT+1);
            if(maxRow<row)
                maxRow=row;
            return row;
        }And then I add the component,
    jPanelContainer.add(component,
                        new org.netbeans.lib.awtextra.AbsoluteConstraints((col-1)*COL_WIDTH, (row-1)*COL_HEIGHT, -1, -1));This is only an ideia. Since I have a lot of constraints with the blocks that I have to add, I first add the components to an array[][],
    treat all the things in this array (like user deleted component, moves rows and columns, user added component, user moved component, etc...)
    and then "send it to the sreen"...
    Maybe I was a little bit confusing...
    Hope it helps!
