Customizing the Standard Vacation Workflow

Hello,
I am working on Oracle E-Business Suite and I'm trying to customize the standard vacation workflow process (self-service employee). The workflow that i made is working fine by itself. However, when I integrate it into the standard workflow, the fields related to the new attributes that i added in the workflow do not show up in the main form.
Concretely, i added two new Attributes: "Alternate from Date" and "Alternate to Date". These Attributes should be filled in by the approver who approves/rejects the demand. If he rejects it, he should enter alternative vacation dates. But the two fields where the approver can enter the value for these attributes do not show up when i run the workflow.
I want to know if there is anything special i should add or if there is something wrong with what I've done.

No, It's not that they don't show up in the notification, but they don't show up in the main form ( the one in which the requestor enters the wanteddates of the vacation, along with the type and the duration).

    Hello Friends,
    I have a requirement to customize the standard workflow - PO Requisition Approval.
    Now , in case if i want to create a new item type , it seems that i have to copy each element (attributes, processes, notifications , messages , lookup etc) into the new item type which is a tedious activity.Any other way out?
    Another way is create a new process by copying the main process (which gets called) and customize it under the same 'Item type' but is there any chance of loosing these changes in case of upgrade/patch since we are using the seeded Item type.
    What is the recommended/best way to customize the standard workflow.

  • Help in Customizing the HR Termination Workflow

    Hi,
    I am trying to customiz the HR Termination workflow.. Then I created custom functions that references this new custom workflow and added the custom function to the menu.. but not getting the expected results.
    I tried changing the process_name to the customized workflow in the parameter for the original function and that seems to work, which confirms the workflow customization is working..
    I just need to know, if there are any other pieces I am missing?

    Why do you want to extend/customize the core library?
    Finding the extact file in that.That does what? Without know what you are up to it is unlikely we will be able to other much help.

    Hi all,
    We have installed the Standard Content and they are existing at differant info areas. Now our requirement is that we have to create new info area for on the customer name and save all the installed business content under the new info area.
    Now my doubt is where can I find drag&drop option to drag&drop the data targets under the required info area.
    Will there be any issues in future?

    The drag & drop facility is similar to windows OS. Just select the Info-Area and drop it under the Info area you need.

    Need your valuable inputs on this.Also when I was trying to replace the standard web dynpro abap screen for create travel request...coudnt find the view.I mean on the overview of Trips and Expenses there is a button for Create Request but I am unable to find the view where this button is placed....I think its getting created dynamically.
    My concern is how to call my interactive form when the button for create request is clicked...dont know where to place it.

  • How to custom the standard steps ?

    Hi,
    I want to modify scripts launched by standard steps to include only database steps. How can i know which script is called by the step ? i understand that the naming convention in $EOF_SCRIPTS is like :
    first 2 characters -> module impacted
    Number -> script Id
    last character -> script type s=setup, v=validate, e=execute
    But it seems that there is no relation between script id on the customize steps screen and the file name. How can i find it ?

    Once I have got the same development. I have followed the below steps, please check with this. Let me know for further inputs.
      Add new field using Append structure of type ‘XXX’ in search
      Create BADI implementation for Enhancement spot ‘ES_CRM_RF_Q1O_SEARCH’ and include filter ‘BTQOPP’
      Put your logic in BADI implementation – SEARCH method
      Add it in WebUI configuration
      Remove the operator if required

    When you build project schedule and publish it, each resource will be able to view his assignments under Tasks then he can edit an assignment and does changes on it.
    What I need to know, is there any way to customize the workflow that controls the assignment lifecycle so that for example if the resource changed the assignment end date I need to generate approval task to his manager and when approved it will generate
    another approval task for his director and if the director approved the task then the change it get reflected on the schedule otherwise the change will be disregard and the resource will be notified by email.

    Hi,
    There is no easy way to configure the task approval chain adding approval level and notifications. By default, the status manager of the task will receive the update for approval before it gets pushed in the project plan.
    Doing some code, you might achieve something similar, like sending an email to a specific user if the assignment finish date has been changed,  but the approval will always be send to the status manager once the update is submitted.

  • Unable to cutomize the Standard Leave Application through NWDI

    Hi All,
    I am facing some problems in an attempt of customizing the standard Leave application using the NWDI. The standard SAP Leave service has been customized as per the requirement, However now there is another change to be made to the application. These are some problems faced during the course:
    1. Once I switch into the DC perspective in my NWDS and try to import the configuration to make a change in the application, there are multiple Tracks made in the name of Leave, which is causing ambiguity in finding out the correct one. Is there any way of finding the correct track which needs to be used and how???
    2. After importing a DC and when I right-click on the DC and select create project, the project is done and when I view it in the WebDynpro perspective there are a lot of build errors given and also in the code, there are some errors for the imports.
    Kindly let me know why is this happening and how can it be resolved.

    after creating the project, you need to close the dc and close the nwds and open the NWDS and open you dc and you can build the dc before open code,

    Travel management workflow temapltes you mentioned in your query are teiggered from event CREATED of busines object BUS2089. You just need to define same event as triggerimg event for your cust workflow in basic data setting (hat symbol) in swdd. Also go to standard workflow templates in swdd and check if event linkages are active (in green) if yes then dwactivate it by clicking on option A gree icon or by going in transaction SWETYPV.

        here is my problem:
        I want to activate the standard workflow for document parking :ws10000051 .
         I have already activate the event type linkage in SWE2.
        And then ,  i maintian  obwa , obwj , obwb, obwc, obwd.obwe,obwf.
         In obwa,i choose posting release  , subworkflow is ws10000055. 
        In obwe, Swf amnt rel  is  ws10000052.  
        In obwf , the org object is the position cfo (myself), before i assign this ,i create a position in ppoce.
       But, when i use f-65 to park a document ,  i can't receive any workflow in sbwp. I also find "the status of Document Parking (Frame), Parallel  is error " in my outbox.
       Can anyone tell me the reason ?

        you are right . when i check swel ,i  found ws10000051  : evnet put in the queue .  more detail message said :The OPEN_DI of BTE 00002214 could not determine any function modules.  
    when i check the workflow log (view with technical details), the activity :' determine subworkflow for amount release of document etermine subworkflow for amount release of docu ' status error . the message said :error in workflow customizing for document parkig (transaction obwe).
    i don't understand this , because i have already maintian  obwe. i made a new entry,like this:
    wrkf :1000   (workflow name)
    apth: 1000   (workflow approval path)
    ammont to : 9999999
    crcy: eur
    wsf amnt rel :ws10000052
    so ,could you tell me more details about this problem ,

    I would need to replace the standard query displayed when the user tries to create a Master Agreement by a custom query to filter the MA types according to some criteria:
    According to this post: Re: Create security profile for a document template in SAP Sourcing, I've tried to achieve it by doing the following steps:
    Create a new query as a copy of exsiting query FCI-ContractTypes
    Modify query group FCI-ContractTypesBP to include my custom query instead of the standard one to only list the MAType "Standard Master Agreement"
    Following you can see the change done into the query group FCI-ContractTypesBP:
    However, standard query has not been replaced and same set of MA Types are listed.
    Therefore, I would like to ask you:
    Is it possible to do this kind of modifications? If so, which query group need to be modified?
    If it is not possible, is there any other way to achieve that requirement?

    Hello again experts,
    If this query cannot be modified, is there any option to disable button below? Or at lease, to disable the query group to avoid the listing of MA Types when it is pressed?
    The reason is because we are going to set up the system in the way that only it will be possible to create Master Agreements from Template. However, if user keep on using that button he will be able to create MA from document types.
    Any ideas?
