Cut and Paste in MS Access

I've been using Java to pull info off of an Access db for about a month but only to pull info off. I would like to know if it is possible to have a java program search for a particular id number (I already know how to do that) and cut that record out of the master table and paste into another smaller table within the db.
The reason I don't use Ctrl+F to find that record is because I have about 1,000 records to cut, out of a master table of over 10,000 records long. I'll go nuts trying to done that (if I don't die of old age first).
Does anyone know if there is a method to do this?
Best Regards,
neowhere

So I guess you already know about JDBC. And you already know how to use the SQL Select statement. So now you need to know
DELETE From <table> Where <conditions>
and
INSERT Into <table> (field1, field2, ...) Values(value1, value2, ...)
If you open Access, select Help, and check out the "Microsoft Jet SQL Reference" section you can find more details.

Tap and hold the text you want to copy, then tap Copy.

Which advice didn't I follow?1) How to write a simple SSCCE.
Again why do you have a custom TableModel? It is not required for the SSCCE and in fact is not required for your real program.
Why is KeyListener code included. It has notthing to do with your question.
    2) I also suggested you add the mouse listener to the text area. Well, the text area is defined in the popup dialog, not the editor in my original SSCCE. So why have you made the code so complex by defining a second text area?
I did look at your sample program (the table with pop-up menu appearing on right-click) That was only a wild guess because you didn't respond the second time when I asked you why the mouse listener wasn't added to the text area.

  • Why can't I cut and paste email addresses when sending documents?

Why can't I cut and paste email addresses when sending files? I have to type them in each time...And it doesn't remember them for the future, as SendNow did.
Also, it seems that the message I type in is not kept, as it was with SendNow?
    Thanks!

    Hi drlaura,
You're correct on both counts--these features work differently Adobe Send than they do in Adobe SendNow.
If you're sending files from Adobe Reader, you can access your local Address Book, which should make entering email addresses easier. Please see: I’m trying to send a file from Adobe Reader, but I can’t access my computer’s address book to find my contacts. Why not?
Please let us know how it goes.

  • Can I cut and paste directions obtained via maps into a word doc or something so I can see them if I can't connect to the internet

Can I cut and paste directions form maps into a word doc - or save it somewhere on my iPad so I can access it when I can't access the Internet?

    Take a screen short.
Simultaneously press the Sleep and Home button. You will notice an on-screen flash. If you have sound enabled, you will hear a camera click.
The screen shot is stored in Camera Roll.

  • HT1212 I did not sync my iPad to iTunes on my PC. Now my iPad is disabled because I forgot my passcode when I set up iOS 7 on it. I have tried to use the support info from Apple AND the cut and paste responses from people in the community, but it does not

I did not sync my iPad to iTunes to my PC. Now my iPad is disabled because I forgot my passcode when I installed iOS 7 to it.
Before anyone cuts and pastes the info from Apple support in response to this, I have already tried those steps. iTunes simply states that it cannot do anything since the iPad is locked with a passcode. I cannot access iCloud to use that specific advice as iCloud will not let me sign in; a message keeps coming up reading that there is an error with the server. Remote Swipe? Not sure. It is three hours later, and I am no further.
What else can I do? I never had a passcode set up when I first got my iPad. I would have bypassed this with the installation of iOS 7 if I had known about this.
    Thank you in advance.

You can only play 720p video.
Download the 720p or standard def version.

  • How do I cut and paste text from a Word doc to my yahoo email?

I am suddenly unable to cut and paste from a Word document into the body of my yahoo email. I never had this problem before, but recently trying to paste my resume into the site 4entertainmentjobs.com, I ran into trouble. I followed your instructions and found my profile folder, but there was no user.js file in there. I created one in text edit and replaced mozilla.org with 4entertainmentjobs.com, but it still didn't work. Today I tried to go back and put Mozilla back in, but I still cannot get it to work. Then I downloaded your add-on "allow clipboard". That did not work either.

  • Search "my profile" shows everything but, need to change profile apparently to "cut and paste"

One would think there would be a simple button allowing access to a personal profile. Certainly can't find one, search brings up thousands of answers, none relevant. Apparently have to copy lines of code to "cut and paste" in my emails. Do not understand why this an issue.

Try this extension - Allow Clipboard Helper: <br />

  • RAR5.3 not able to cut and paste list of users to Multiple Selection screen

CC V4.0 on ABAP system has a feature where you can cut and paste a list of many users from the clipboard to Single Values column in the Multiple Selection screen, so you can run SOD Analysis Report for all those users.  The Multiply Selection screen is a standard SAP supplied pop up screen.
With RAR 5.3 the Multiply Selection screen design is different.  There is no longer feature to cut and paste from clipboard.  We have to input each user one at a time.  So if you have many users (20, 30, etc.) it is a time consuming task.  It is not acceptable to our business power users.
We can import the list of users to a Custom User Group (in the Configuration Tab).  First of all, there is no mass delete on Custom User Group.  You have to delete each user one at a time which is time consuming.  The alternative is to create a new Custom User Group each time, then it becomes a maintenance nightmare.  Secondly, it is in the Configuration Tab which is only available to Administrators (fear of users changing configuation data), so the Administrator (or whomever has access to the Configuration Tab) has to maintain the Custom User Groups which is a lot of work for him or her or them.
We talk to SAP every week.  But they are looking at this as a long time project.  Does any one of you (or your company) has the same requirements?  How do you get around it?  Did you setup some other procedures so users can cut and paste the users list and run the Risk Analysis report themselves?
    Thanks,
    John.

This is probably a JVM issue. Are you using JInitiator or the IE native JVM?
I suggest you turn on the JVM console, set the trace level to maximum, and then watch what happens when you attempt the copy.
Also, check the key mapping (usually ctrl-k) that the forms applet is implementing. Perhaps ctrl-c means something else...

  • I just my iMac. I would like to compose a letter to a document, make corrections, then cut and past it for e-mail. how do i do it?

I just bought an iMac. I would like to write a letter to a friend using word document. I then would cut and paste the letter and send it via e mail. How do i do it?

You can use Text Edit located in your Applications folder.
For assistance with that app click Help from the Text Edit menu bar.
Or, you can purchase Pages from the App Store.
You can access the App Store from your Apple menu > App Store
Or the App Store icon in the Dock
    Or your Applications folder.

  • If i cut and paste in email, while on firefox, as i try to paste, the rest of page goes into blue and if i go ahead and past, it erases rest of page that goes blue thx

The ChromEdit Plus extension automatically creates a '''user.js''' ''(and the other 2 "user" files)'' upon installation, and it provides an interface within Firefox for editing those "user" files.
    http://webdesigns.ms11.net/chromeditp.html
It makes it so you don't have to go hunting around for your Profile folder whenever you want to edit those "user" files by allowing you to access those files from within Firefox while it is running.
FYI, this support article might be a little more helpful for doing the user.js file manually than what you cited as having read. <br />

  • I'd like to cut and paste onto my website's edit page

I am learning to set up my webpage using the host server's program and tutorials. When I download and drag the document to the correct location on the template, it stays in icon form. When I go to the editing page to cut and paste the content in there, I get a message that firefox isn't set up to do this, but that I could perhaps adjust it to do so. I followed the links but haven't been able to sort out what I'm supposed to do. More specific directions appreciated.

    These links may help:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/index.php?title=Clipboard_not_working

If the issue is with granting JavaScript access, the add-on mentioned in the article can be used to make the required changes.

  • Finder crashes when i cut and paste

For the last few days, every time that i try to cut and paste files from one folder to another through the finder, finder crashes and i have to relaunch. interestingly, the files are actually pasting properly into the destination folder notwithstanding that finder hangs and stops responding every time. this has been happening with file folders that are about 150 - 250 Mbs in size. All that i'm doing is command-a (select all), command-c and then in the destination folder, command-v. The screen pops up which says that the computer is gathering info about the files to be pasted and then the swirly "working" mouse icon comes on and doesn't leave. Eventually i have to relaunch finder. This has happened about 10 times in a row. I'm not running any other applications at the time (other than widgets).
    Any thoughts? Thanks.

I'm going to ask around in the meantime run Repair Disk and see if it turns anything up:
EDIT: Actually, you can run "verify disk" from Disk Utility on your Mac. If that turns up anything then follow the instructions to repair.
    Steps for using Disk Utility
    1. Insert your Mac OS X CD-ROM disc or Restore DVD disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key until you see the spinning gear..
    2. Once started up from CD or DVD, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu.
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from disc to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume, if necessary.
    6. Click Repair.
If you repair errors run it until no errors found.

  • Cut and paste in Leopard

Hello. This is a question regarding the cut and paste options. Actually to move an item from a file to another one I have to copy it and then paste it in the other file, then have to go back to the original item and delete it. How do I enable to cut an item (so it no longer appears in a file) and paste it in another one? I do not want to copy, want to move it. Thanks.

We're debating here over something called "User Experience".
If I remember well the Windows model has been thoroughly based on the Mac model. But not "all" features could be "copied" because of patent infringements. Anyways - I don't want to be the cause of a long debate already closed years ago - the issue is that we're facing here two different "User Experiences" (acronym is UX).
Unfortunately, there is this human habit to instinctively adhere to "paradigms": For one person, moving a file from one place to another must be done via a Drag and Drop. For others, it must be done with a Cut and Paste.
    Well, it's anyone's choice and can't be argued !
Changing OS is like changing living environment, it's a matter of changing paradigm. Even between major versions of an OS you have to change paradigm.
For instance. As a long time HPUX admin, I was used to HP-Vue, Then we moved to CDE and ranted about CDE. Now that I'm using a Mac as may platform to access my "other" Unix systems, I got used of "Virtual Desktop" from Codeteck. Now there is Space.
See, I've got to go through 4 different systems of Virtual Desktop management (and still no Windows!).
No, back to the Drag-n-Drop vs Ctrl-X-V. I am very fast with moving files. You know that you can drag and hold your file over a volume or folder icon you have in the left pane of your Finder's window. You'll see them spring open showing up where potentially you could drop it.
In order to be fast in my work, I keep my workspace very structured and organized. I have an icon of each of my principal locations set in the "Places" tab of the Finder's left pane (can't figure out its name). This organization helps me a lot designing my Time Machine backup strategy, too.
Because MacOSX is very well structured, it helps you organizing your account clean. But, the way to move files around is Drag and Drop
(or the 'mv' command through a shell terminal)

    Thierry
