Cystal Report Formula

In Crystal Report at footer there are two things VAT amount and CST amount. I want to do like in same place ther will be VAT / CST...if VAT amount is there it will show VAT 1500
if CST amount is there it will show CST 1600
How to do?
in pld i think we can do it with link...in CR what to do?

Hi Shruti.......
DO you have query based Crystal Report.
If it is then you can easily add via subreport or directly in query report......
For which document you are designing this report in SAP?

  • REP-1425 report formula DO_SQL error putting value into column

    Hi all
    I have opened a report 2.5 in Oracle9i Reports Developer and, it converted ok. However, when I run the report (paper layout), the message
    rep-1425 report formula DO_SQL error putting value
    into column. Column may not be referenced by parameter
    triggers
    appears. There are several report level formula columns and corresponding placeholder columns that are the cause of this error. The formula has the following :
    SRW.DO_SQL('SELECT RPAD(''DAILY TABLE AUDIT REPORT'',60,''.'')||TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,''DD-MON-YYYY'') INTO :REPORT_TIT FROM DUAL');
    COMMIT;
    RETURN('');
    I can't work out what this error message really means as the column, report_tit is a placeholder column and, the formula column is not a parameter trigger!! The report_tit placeholder is used as a source for a layout field. I noticed that the layout field is defined as a placeholder column in the converted report but in the reports 2.5 version, it is defined as a layout field.
    I can do a work around by replacing the SRW.DO_SQL statement with a normal PL/SQL SELECT statement. However, I wonder if anyone else has had the same problem and, if anyone can help provide an answer as to what this error really means and, also, how I can retain the SRW.DO_SQL statement and/or an alternative work around to the one that I have described.
    Thanks.

    Hi again
    The firewall proved to be the problem after all! The firewall set in Reports config-files is not used for WebServices, it has to be set within the stub:
    Properties prop = System.getProperties();
    prop.put("http.proxyHost","yourProxyServer");
    prop.put("http.proxyPort","youProxyServerPort");
    I inserted this in my java-code and after some problems (see below), restarting Report Builder turned the trick, the report works now.
    Cheers
    Tino
    Here there mail I set up before I found that restarting Report Builder helped:
    Thanks for your answer, putting in the proxy-settings actually helped some - the same error message is
    popping up, but instantly and not after 10 seconds like before:
    My proxy lines look like this, I also tried "http://proxy.ch.oracle.com", but "proxy.ch.oracle.com" proved to
    be the correct syntax:
    public Float getRate(String country1, String country2) throws Exception
    Float returnVal = null;
    Properties prop = System.getProperties();
    prop.put("http.proxyHost","proxy.ch.oracle.com");
    prop.put("http.proxyPort","8080");
    URL endpointURL = new URL(endpoint);
    Call call = new Call();
    I tested the new proxy-entries by disabling the proxy preference in JDeveloper, so I could verify the added
    proxy-lines in the code work - they do. If I change the proxy to some incorrect value like
    "proxyy.ch.oracle.com", they fail.
    After unsuccessfully trying recompile and re-import of Java classes, I rebuild the report from scratch and
    stumbled over the same problem. Now the question is, whether I'm still doing something wrong with the
    proxy or whether there is another problem after passing the firewall....

  • Crystal Report formula with datediff not working as expected

    We need a Crystal Report formula to display the number of seconds the oldest arriving call has been waiting.  Across multiple resources that can each have an "oldest call".  The database stores a datetime value for the time the oldest call arrived.  If there are no waiting calls, then this field is NULL.  (MSSQL database).  It seemed reasonable to implement this in a formula that 1) discovers the minimum of "oldest call" timestamps in the selected records, and 2) to use "datediff" to produce the difference (in seconds) between the "oldest call" timestamp and current time.
    The first attempt at this relied on "implied" iteration that could be done within a formula.  Something like:
    data: OLDESTARRIVALTIME
           null
           '2014-06-14 08:08:08.000'
           null
          '2014-06-14 08:07:55.000'
           null
    whilereadingrecords;
    datetimevar minArrival;
    if isNull({SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.OLDESTARRIVALTIME}) = False
                   and minArrival < {SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.OLDESTARRIVALTIME} then
         minArrival := {SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.OLDESTARRIVALTIME};
    DateDiff("s", minArrival, {SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.UTCDATE})
    We tried storing the values of OLDESTARRIVALTIME in an array.  We could see it iterating, but the values in the array only contained
    the column value from the first record.
    This was to solve the problem of screening null values and producing the minimum of the set.
    Since that didn't work (and the web articles seemed to imply this would iterate over all the records, we tried another approach.  This
    time we set NULL timestamps in the table to a timestamp far in the future, so that we could directly apply "minimum" to produce
    the correct "begin" for datediff.
    data: OLDESTARRIVALTIME
              '2030-01-01 00:00:00.000'
              '2014-06-14 08:08:08.000'
              '2030-01-01 00:00:00.000'
              '2014-06-14 08:07:55.000'
              '2030-01-01 00:00:00.000'
    datetimevar minArrival = minimum({SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.OLDESTARRIVALTIME});
    datetimevar minUTC = minimum({SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.UTCDATE});
    if minArrival < minUTC then
         DateDiff("s", minArrival, minUTC)
    else
         0
    (minUTC would be current time in UTC)
    So, to start things off, the last formula produces negative numbers!  They hover in negative seconds within a negative minute (-33, -45, etc.).
    That's inconceivable, considering the test for minArrival < minUTC.  Both of the fields are "datetime".
    As it turns out, in the near term, it's most important to get the second formula working.  And, of course, insights into getting the first
    formula to work are welcome as well!
    Have we run into some weird behavior of the "DateDiff" function?
    Thanks!

    If DateDiff is always returning a negative number you could try swapping the dates around in the call to DateDiff - it should look like this:
         DateDiff("s", minUTC, minArrival)
    Or you could use the Absolute Value of the calculation:
         Abs(DateDiff("s", minUTC, minArrival) )
    As for your first formula, you need to initialize the variable to a value prior to using it in the comparison.  If you don't, its value is null and comparing it against a value won't work.  (See What is Null and Why is it Important for Crystal Reports | SAP BI BLOG for a blog that I wrote about working with nulls in Crystal.)
    You should change your existing formula to something like this:
    whilereadingrecords;
    datetimevar minArrival;
    if OnFirstRecord then minArrival := DateTime(2013, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0);
    if not isNull({SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.OLDESTARRIVALTIME})
                   and minArrival > {SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.OLDESTARRIVALTIME} then
         minArrival := {SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.OLDESTARRIVALTIME};
    Note how I changed the If statement.  Also, you want to replace minArrival with the field value if the field is less than the current value of minArrival - so you need to use ">" instead of "<" in the comparison.  Place this formula in the details section.  It will now show anything because of the semi-colon on the end.  This will ensure that it gets evaluated for every record.
    Now, create a second formula that looks like this:
    whileReadingRecords;
    datetimevar minArrival;
    DateDiff("s", minArrival, {SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.UTCDATE})
    Place this formula in a footer section - it will not work in a header section.  If you need it in a header section you might be able to take the "whilereadingrecords" off of both formulas and use the "Maximum()" summary function to get the correct value.

    i also use the column name but same error is appeared when i compile formula column . this is only the example i gave to u. now i give u actual code.
    function CF_Close_Rate1Formula return Number is
    lc_rate number;
    begin
    select CL_RATES_CLOSE
    into lc_rate
    from sys_cl_rates
    where cp_id = :v_cp_id
    and loc_id = :v_loc_id
    and trade_type_id = :trade_type_id
    and cp_list_id = :cp_list_id
    and CL_RATES_DATE = (select max(cl_rates_date)

                   where cp_id = :V_CP_ID
                   and loc_id = :V_LOC_ID
                   and trade_type_id = :trade_type_id
                   and cp_list_id = :cp_list_id);
                   --= :lc_closing_date;
    return (nvl(lc_rate,0));
    EXCEPTION WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND THEN

  • Problem in using  Nested  IF-ELSE in Crystal Report  formula

    Hi Experts ,
                         I am having some problem using  Nested IF-ELSE in Crystal Report formula ,
    there is no error in the formula but only one condition is working. other condition is not working
    i am using this concept in formula workshop :-
    ' if{EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Basic Excise Duty BED@10 %}<>0 and{EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Education Cess @2%}<>0 and {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Secondary Education Cess @1%}<>0 and {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Central Sales Tax(CST)@2%}<>0
    then
    Sum ({EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Amount}) + {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.BedAmount@10%} + {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.EcessAmount@2%} + {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.SecCessAmount@1%} + {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.CSTAmount@2%}
    else
    if {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Basic Excise Duty BED@10 %}<>0 and {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Education Cess @2%}<>0 and  {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Secondary Education Cess @1%}<>0 and   {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Input VAT@5%}<>0  and {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Addtional Tax@1%}<>0
    then
    Sum ({EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Amount}) + {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.BedAmount@10%} + {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.EcessAmount@2%}+{EXCISE_INVOICE;1.SecCessAmount@1% } + {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.VATAmount@5%} +{EXCISE_INVOICE;1.AddTaxAmount@1%(for VAT@4)}
    I want that  all conditions  should work and the condition which is applicable there according to formula it display the result,  if i add another condition then it should also work.
    kindly tell me the solution of this problem
    Regards
    Rahul

    Try this logic:
    if{EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Basic Excise Duty BED@10 %}!=0 and{EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Education Cess @2%} !=0 and {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Secondary Education Cess @1%} !=0
    then
    Sum ({EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Amount}) + {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.BedAmount@10%} + {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.EcessAmount@2%} + {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.SecCessAmount@1%}
    else
    0
    +
    IF {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Central Sales Tax(CST)@2%} !=0
    then
    {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.CSTAmount@2%}
    else
    IF  {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Central Sales Tax(CST)@5%} !=0
    then
    {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.CSTAmount@5%}
    +
    if {EXCISE_INVOICE;1.Addtional Tax@1%} !=0
    then
    EXCISE_INVOICE;1.AddTaxAmount@1%(for VAT@4)}
    else
    0
    If not work, try SQL command.
    Thanks,

  • COPA Report Formulas

    Hi Gurus,
    I am facing problem in COPA report formulas. My COPA report is showing wrong figures wherein the figures are calculated by formula. For e.g Actual figure is 40 and planned figure is 10. The percentage (%) variance figure should be 75. But I am getting some wrong figures. The formula defined is as follows.
    ((Actual-Planned)/Actual*100)
    Is there any other method to calculate the Variance % ?
    Please guide.
    regards,
    makrand

    Hello Makrand,
    The formula is not correct. The formula should be (Actual - Plan) / Plan x 100. This is because you are trying to find out how good you were against the plan. So if the plan is 100 and actual is 80 then the variance would be - 20 % which means there is 20 % negative variance and in you case of actual of 40 and plan of 10 the correct figure is not 75% but it is 300% this is because the actual is much higher than the plan.

  • Summary field of subreport used in main report formula calculation

    I have a summary field in a subreport that I want to use in a calculation of a percentage using a second summary field in the main report as the denominator.  How do I do this in a new formula?

    Thank You Ian Waterman,...
    Couple of questions:
    Where you say "... in subreport
    @ eval
    whileprinting records;
    shared number x:=your summary
    Am I correct that this is to be a new formula created in the subreport design?
    What should I put for the "x" in the formula?
    Should the "your summary" be:  "DistinctCount of Activated_Survey.Seq.Incident"  which I have showing in the Report Footer of the subreport?
    Where in the subreport should I place the formula?  Can it be hidden?
    Where you say "In subreport header..."
    @reset
    whileprintingrecords;
    shared number x:=0
    Am I correct that this is to be a new formula created in the subreport design?
    What should I put for the "x" in the formula?
    Where in the subreport should I place the formula?  Can it also be hidden?
    Where you say "In the main report in section after subreport..."
    I have the subreport sitting up in the main Report Header as I only want the subreport summary field showing.
    In the subreport, I have the Report Header and Details section hidden.
    @calc
    whileprintingrecords;
    (shared number x / main report summary) * 100
    Am I correct that this is to be a new formula in the main report?
    However, what I need to have happen is that the main report summary field of: "Count of Answered_Survey.Seq.Incident" needs to be divided by the subreport summary field of "DistinctCount of Activated_Survey.Seq.Incident" * 100.
    What do I modify in the formula?
    Thanks.

  • In Report formula, IF no values then It is showing "0" (Zero)

    Hi,
    I have created a formula in Report. If the values are there then it is showing correct value. If no values for eg: blank + blank = 0, I want blank is required "SPACE" or " #" not the ZERO in the report .
    Regards,
    Satish
    Edited by: Satish Dora on Sep 9, 2010 8:05 PM

    Hi,
    I am not sure whether "display zero as" and "display blank as" is the same thing.
    I thought "display zero as" only controls the zero values and doesn't control the blank.
    Actually I think the author wants to distinguish zero and blank.
    If display both zero and blank as blank, I am not sure whether it's what he wants.
    Now that I check it in my system, it seems that blanks are still shown as blank though "Does not exist" setting is something else.
    This "Does not exist" seems to still be different than blank.
    Blank means there is no record in Infoprovider for certain restriction in my sample.
    What is the blank in your case, Satish?

  • Crystal report formulas to view revenue for current & Previous Year

    Hi all,
    We have a requirement to create a formula in crystal reports to display the current month revenue and previous month revenue along with few dimensions and also current fiscal year revenue and previous year.
    For ex on SAp ecc table CE11000.
    Please provide the syntax for above requirement.
    Quick response is appreciated.
    Thanks.

    HI AlunJD,
    Thanks for your quick turnaround.
    Here's the structure of table i have fields like Currency type,Document Number,Fiscal year , Company code,country, Countrygrp,Document type, Sales quantity & Revenue.
    My requirement is to display Revenue for current Fiscal Year and Previous Fiscal year and aswell as Current Month And previous month in the same report.
    Is there any functions to create a formula to display data on above mentioned logic.

  • Using a subreport formula in a main report formula

    Hello,
    I am trying to use a formula that is in the subreport and also a formula that is in my main report to come up with a percentage.
    ve researched the forums on the internet and couldn't find anything that directly fit my situation.
    - Formula #1: The SubReport formula is the "sum" of a number variable of {JobRecord.ProjectedIssueDate}. This is for the actual amount of job issued.
    - Formula # 2: The MainReport formula is the "sum" of a number variable of {JobHours.StartDate}. This is for the actual amount of jobs completed.
    Issue: I need to create a formula to take the Formula # 1 and Formula # 2 and get a percentage.
    Example:
    9 Jobs Completed in Main Report / 10 Jobs Projected in Sub Report = 90%
    My main report is grouped as follows for both the main and sub report:
    Grouping #1: Start Date
    Grouping #2: Contractor Code
    Grouping #3: Job Type Code
    I need this formula to work on the Grouping # 3 Level.
    Any takers?

    Also, If you want the Percentage and Sum from the Subreport to show beside each other, here's what you need to do:
    1) Create a new Group header 3b section
    2) Move everything except the Subreport on the Group Header 3b section
    3) Get inside the Subreport and suppress all sections of the Subreport
    4) Back in the Main Report reduce the size of this Subreport and make this no bigger than a dot. Reduce the size of the section so it doesn't take up a lot of space.
    5) Create a formula with this code:
    shared numbervar cnt;
    Drag and drop this formula on the Group header 3b so that this shows the sum from the Subreport.

  • Using a subreport field in a main report formula.

    Post Author: testing123
    CA Forum: Formula
    Hi.I have a summary of a field {timesheet_log.labour_cost} in a subreport and a field {project.total_po} in the main report and I want to add the two together in a function in the main report. Both fields are linked to a job which is grouped by the jobs' ID.The subreport contains this formula: shared CurrencyVar myTotal;myTotal := Sum ({timesheet_log.labour_cost}); In the main report I have a formula, myTotal, that reads: WhilePrintingRecords;shared CurrencyVar myTotal;myTotal;  As you can see myTotal is a shared variable which contains the total of all the values in {timesheet_log.labour_cost}. However, when I put the formula myTotal in the group footer for each project, it will only change if there is an actual set of values in {timesheet_log.labour_cost}. If there isn't, it will display the last total of {timesheet_log.labour_cost}. We get something like this: Job           Sum{timesheet_log.labour_cost}           {project.total_po} 10050       0   (no value)                                                  100       10051        400    (Value = 400)                                    492210052        400    (no value)                                              32910053      400   (no value)                                    1111110054      2490 (Value = 2490)                                     24210056      6000 (Value = 6000)                            343410057      6000 (no value)                                    99494 Basically what this is saying is that if there are no values at all (ie NULL) in {timesheet_log.labour_cost}, the formula I have made will use the previous value. What I want to do is set the Sum({timesheet_log.labour_cost}) to zero if there are no labour_costs so that basically the value is reset to 0 if there's nothing there.

    Post Author: JKitz
    CA Forum: Formula
    Group it by Job Number and then add the following to the group header:  WhilePrintingRecords;shared CurrencyVar myTotal := 0 Then put the information you have above in the group footer with your formula and suppress the detail section.  That way you will zero it out with each new Job Number

Since the index in the test values array for a given value to be tested matches the index of return values array of the correspondent output value, this methodology is called index mapping.</p>  <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">Here follows the code:</p>   <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">//testValues array store values to be tested in the formula</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">Local StringVar Array testValues :=<span>     </span>MakeArray ( "S",<span>         </span>"M",<span>    </span><span>    </span>"L",<span>       </span>"XL");</p>  <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">//returnValues array store values to be returned by the test formula</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">Local StringVar Array returnValues :=<span>   </span>MakeArray ( "Small",<span>    </span>"Medial",<span>   </span>"Large",<span>  </span>"Extra Large", </p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><span>                                                    </span>"App Type not Found");</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">Local NumberVar i := 1;</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">Local Numbervar returnIndex := -1;</p>   <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">//Loop through the entire array for each values of the field</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">While<span>   </span>i <= Ubound(testValues) AND returnIndex = -1 Do(</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">//Actual test of the values and return bellow</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><span>        </span>If ToText({CUSTOMER.SIZE}, 0) = testValues<i> Then( </p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><span>            </span>returnIndex := i;);</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><span>      </span><span>  </span>i := i + 1;</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">);</p>   <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">//If any value found return it, else return last value in the return value array</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">If returnIndex = -1 Then</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><span>    </span>returnValues[Ubound(testValues) + 1]</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">Else</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><span>    </span>returnValues[returnIndex]</p>  <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">Fell free to email me if you have questions and enjoy the code...</p></span>

    Can you help with the below?
    Group on Client/Location, Brokerage Rate, Product
    Read all records for a particular group and store each different currency in an array
    On change of group display contents of the stored array.
    e.g.
    Record 1         ABN   AM      FUTURE RATE AGREEMENT       0.012500%      DKK
    Record 2         ABN   AM      FUTURE RATE AGREEMENT       0.012500%      EUR
    Record 3         ABN   AM      FUTURE RATE AGREEMENT       0.012500%      GBP
    Record 4         ABN   AM      FUTURE RATE AGREEMENT       0.012500%      USD
    On change of group I would like to display the following
                            ABN   AM      FUTURE RATE AGREEMENT       0.012500%      DKK   EUR    GBP    USD
