  • Wrong aspect ratio in browsermode, after import...

    Hello there,
    here's the dilemma:
    after I import raw images in aperture, the preview images (Browser mode) seem to be off (not proportioned correctly). Once I go to  Viewer mode, they "scale" to normal. It takes about half a second. It seems as if something is added to top and bottom of the image, ie. more "info" comes in... the actual aspect ratio (?) doesn't change, but the added info makes it "right". And it actually is added to both "long sides of the image", not top and bottom. By that I mean that if the it is a portrait orientation, it's left and right of the image that changes.
    This is not a problem if there were just few images. I could go and move from one image to next in Viewer mode, and wait for that half a sec every in between, but when it's hundreds of images... well, you understand, not fun.
    The camera is Sony a-55. And I have tried to import both directly from camera and by using the card reader in iMac. Same problem both.
    Thanks for all the help,

    Thanks Kirby, for joyning us! Good to know, that this is not a general problem with Sony cameras.
    Teemu, I just checked, the raw support list says, that the a55 requires Aperture 3, so the raw support probably will be installed with the application.
    Separate raw support download installers are here: Each installer adds a few cameras - it is a bit tedious to look at all of them to find the one, that installs the support for your camera.
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/#raw%20support
    I'd try first to reinstall Aperture. Since you bought from the App Store, you can download Aperture again, if you quit Aperture and remove it from the Applications folder to the Trash (don't empty the Trash); log off and on again. Then sign into the App Store and download the installer again - it should be available in the "purchases" tab and see, if reinstalling helps.

  • Site won't preview in IE.

    I can preview my site (not yet hosted) in virtually all browsers except Internet Explorer. I'm just getting a totally blank page in IE; not even a "can't do for some reason" message and nothing in the URL box. It's a pretty simple portfolio page w/ thumbnails and slideshow and here's the code:

    Nice to have a EXPERT in this FORUM...!!
    Hi Dan, if you look at my reply I mentioned that I had loaded loc_updates.sql
    From my previous reply:
    execute loc_updates.sql which doenot update any of the rows since if you look at the syntax in loc_updates.sql file it shows update the table customers whose customer_id=344.
    Where is this customer_id=344 coming from?
    Also the datatype is a number.
    Dan, were you able to get the results as desired?
    or may be I am missing something...
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nandakishore.

    Markus,
    Sorry for my late reply it had been awhile since I was here at SDN
    I did it manually in the 'old' way and at that time it did work.
    Kulvir,
    I did get it from SAPnet but when I downloaded it it contained the proper file.But I did had the same with an add-on for the business connector which only contained an empty file.
    Thanks for your answers and again sorry for my late reply back to you all

  • Why buy System Center 2012 Operations Manager (how to convince my boss)

    Hello
    I need to put together a document to try and convince my boss to spend the time/money to move from SCOM 2007 R2 to SCOM 2012 R2.
    One of the areas I want to focus on is Cross Platform (Unix/Linux), Network Monitoring and APM
    Does any one know of any good documents/short videos showing the benefits of SCOM 2012 R2 which a view to selling the benefits to a line manager (also have a very sceptical Unix/Linux team).
    Perhaps someone else has already been through this loop, and has such a documents :)
    Thanks

    Hi AAnotherUser:
    Here is a recent video on managing SUSU Linux with SCOM 2012 R2:

    I can assure you this level of ease of monitoring applies to all supported Linux versions not such SUSE.
    This video focuses on the dashboarding features in SCOM, it might convey the value you are looking for:

  • Jre hangs/freeze at digital signature dialog (oracle.forms.engine.Main)

    hi,
    we are using webforms (application server 11).
    when a client starts up a form in the browser the dialog for accepting the digital signature (oracle.forms.engine.Main) appears. in this dialog wether a button can be klicked nor the checkbox (always trust...) can be checked. still this dialog can be moved.
    what's the reason for that?
    we tried different jre versions (1.6 u12 - u20) and also patch 9553040 (jrefb-6u20-rev-b05-windows-i586.exe) doesn't work - the same problem appears.
    regards,
    matthias

    It does!
    I [read this paper|http://forms.pjc.bean.over-blog.com/ext/http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/pdf/SigningJint13.pdf] before, years ago the first time. It's from *2002* and refers to JInitiator. And I read this paper again. But I stopped around page 13, reading
    +"PROBLEMS WITH MULTIPLE SIGNING IDENTITIES+
    +There is currently a restriction within Oracle9i Forms. If a Forms application is+
    +started within JInitiator or the Sun Java Plug-in, which uses code signed with+
    +multiple certificates ... This restriction will be lifted in a later release of Forms ...."+
    Not one of my best ideas. Notice, Sun Plug-in is mentioned and +8 years+ might not be enough, obviously.
    Reason behind the "re-appearance" of the problem with forms 11g is that the forms jars (including webutil) are now signed with an VeriSign certificate what was not the case with 10g. Downloading jacob.jar by your own, you get an unsigned jar file. Signing this, as you were used in 10g leads to the second signing identity and the freezing problem.
    But let's see how we could solve the problem, for the moment, perhaps for the next 8 years. We
    . took solution path 2 out of the aove cited paper (Register Your Custom Signing Certificate Separately).
    . rename jacob.jar to jy_jacob.jar (we do not want to interfere with other forms application of other companies also using webutil)
    . add the registration applet code as described in the paper to jy_jacob.jar
    . sign jy_jacob.jar.
    . [to be on the save side we repeated these steps for all our jar files, necessary for the application]
    . rename webutiljpi.htm to webutiljpijy.htm
    . modify webutiljpijy.htm by adding applet registration section before webutil registration. This reads like
    <!-- Registration applet definition (start) -->
    <OBJECT classid="%jpi_classid%"
    codebase="%jpi_codebase%"
    WIDTH="0"
    HEIGHT="0"
    HSPACE="0"
    VSPACE="0">
    <PARAM NAME="TYPE" VALUE="%jpi_mimetype%">
    <PARAM NAME="CODEBASE" VALUE="%codebase%">
    <PARAM NAME="CODE" VALUE="com.joynit.forms.applet.RegisterCertificateApplet">
    <PARAM NAME="ARCHIVE" VALUE="%archive%,%webUtilArchive%" >
    <COMMENT>
    <EMBED SRC="" PLUGINSPAGE="%jpi_download_page%"
    TYPE="%jpi_mimetype%"
    java_codebase="%codebase%"
    java_code="com.joynit.forms.applet.RegisterCertificateApplet"
    java_archive="%archive%,%webUtilArchive%"
    WIDTH="1"
    HEIGHT="1"
    HSPACE="0"
    VSPACE="0"
    >
    <NOEMBED>
    </COMMENT>
    </NOEMBED></EMBED>
    </OBJECT>
    <!-- Registration applet definition (end) -->
    . modify formsweb.cfg so that webutiljpijy.htm and jy_jacob.jar are used (original settings as comments below)
    baseHTMLjpi=webutiljpijy.htm
    #baseHTMLjpi=webutiljpi.htm
    archive=frmall.jar,iText-5.0.3.jar,vzg_grafik.jar,vzg_images.jar,vzg_netz.jar,jy_pdfutil.jar
    #archive=frmall.jar
    WebUtilArchive=frmwebutil.jar,jy_jacob.jar
    #WebUtilArchive=frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
    And then, after flushing the jar cache, success! No freezing. It was possible to confirm the certifcates and to start the application.
    Thnx to Mia Urman and the oracle forms communitiy on [http://oracleformsinfo.wordpress.com/] , who gave me the tip... There is another, easier solution.
    Never set one of the original oracle jar-Files on pole position (1st position) in one auf the archive parameters. This leads to hanging.
    Put one of your self-signed jar-Files in front and let the oracle jars follow. The forms application will start properly.
    It work with 3 different signing authorities, also. What makes hope for 4, and so on.

  • Operations Manager 2012 R2

    Hello!
    Is there an easy way to find historical alerts/events on a specific host without running a report in SCOM 2012 R2?
    E.g which monitor raising the alert and at which time the monitor went cirtical/warning
    In WhatsUp Gold you could easily right-click the target and choose "device status report". Is there something  similar in SCOM?

    I jump to My Workspace and make an ad-hoc Alert view that filters on the desired criteria.
    Using My Workspace:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh212807.aspx
    To create a view in My Workspace
    Right-click in the folder where you want to store the view and point to
    New. You can select any view type. For more information on the view types available, see
    View Types in Operations Manager.
    In the view properties, enter a name and description for the view. The view properties dialog box contains two tabs:
    Criteria and Display.
    On the Criteria tab, in the Show data related to field, specify the item to target. The item you select will display related conditions in the
    Select conditions section. For more information, see
    Guidance for Scoping and Targeting Views.
    After you select a condition, you can edit the value for that condition in the
    Criteria description section.
    In the Show data contained in a specific group field, you can select a group to limit the search results to members of that group.
    On the Display tab, select the columns that you want displayed in the view. You can also specify how to sort the columns and group the items.
    After you have specified the conditions and values for the view, click
    OK. The new view will appear in the navigation pane.

  • Running SCOM Powershell cmdlets on SCOM Agent Server

    Hello,
    I have to run some SCOM cmdlets on SCOM Agent Server. But I am getting the below error.
    "Get-SCOMClass : The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initilized. Check the event log for more information."
    In the Agent Server, there is no "Data Access service".
    Please help me in running the SCOM cmdlets on SCOM Agent Server.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Mahadevan.G

    Hi Mahadevan:
    On a SCOM management server, the SDK service name is "System Center Data Access Service". If you don't see that service listed then you are not on a SCOM management server.
    Not sure what you mean "SCOM Agent Server"? The SCOM cmdlets won't run on a computer with just the SCOM agent installed unless you also install the SCOM console/powershell features from the SCOM install media.
    The Get-SCOMClass cmdlet (or Get-SCClass) should run on a management server with no problems. Recommend check again that you are really logged into a SCOM management server.

  • SCOM 2012 R2 Upgrade Plan Discussion

    Dear Experts,
    Currently I have a RMS and one MS Server with SCOM 2007 R2 in my Test Environment (Windows 2008 R2).
    Now, The Upgradation plan is below and please correct me if I am wrong.
    SCOM 2007 R2 CU4 --> SCOM 2012
    SCOM 2012  --> SCOM 2012 SP1
    SCOM 2012 SP1 --> SCOM 2012 R2.
    So we need to purchase of three types of SCOM 2012 versions S/W or else we can simply download those versions from Microsoft ?
    Please provide me the complete process of this Migration cycle.
    Saravana Raja

    Hi Saravana:
    Upgrading to System Center 2012 – Operations Manager is supported from Operations Manager 2007 R2 CU4, or from the latest available CU. See
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh476934.aspx.
    As for upgrading from SCOM 2012 to SCOM 2012 SP1 to SCOM 2012 R2, MVP Marnix Wolf is clear that you need to perform each upgrade step separately:
    http://thoughtsonopsmgr.blogspot.com/2013/07/upgrade-paths-to-system-center-2012-r2.html. The "complete process" would consists of performing the upgrade for each version one after the other, again, just as you put in your plan.
    You do not need to purchase any additional software, but you will need to download the 3 versions as you described from Microsoft volume license site or other media source.

  • Time sync monitor for all windows member servers

    How to monitor time sync issue on all the member servers and domain controllers.  Can we monitor through scom 2007 r2.  Specially we need an alert when all the member servers are not in time sync.
    B John

    There is no monitor for exactly your ask.
    The AD management pack includes a Time Service Health monitor for DCs that makes sure the time service is running:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/0c921fa7-45ed-4bee-8f53-c92c750f6cbf/scom-module-for-monitoring-time-sync-issues?forum=operationsmanagergeneral
    Here is my "domain time tip:"
    Select your preferred time server from this list
    http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/NTP/. For example 'tick.usno.navy.mil'.
    Then run these commands on your PDC emulator of the domain:
    W32tm /config /syncfromflags:manual /manualpeerlist:"<DNS-name-of-time-server>"
    W32tm /config /reliable:yes
    W32tm /config /update
    W32tm /resync
    Net stop w32time
    Net start w32time
    If you execute these commands, AD defaults will cause all your member servers to discover the domain time standard and update to it.
    Good luck,

  • External Web Console Access SCOM 2012 R2 - An unexpected error has occured.

    Hello,
    I have an issue when accessing the Web Console for our SCOM 2012 R2 environment - I have installed the web console on a standalone machine with mixed authentication - i have windows authentication enabled and NTLM is at the top of the providers list. I have
    gone through the process of registering the SPN's and configuring constraint delegation. The SSL settings are ticked on the Default Web Site, the Monitoring View and the Operations Manager.
    I have followed the article below when performing the install:

  • Auditing Changes to ERDs?

    How do you set up auditing to ERDs? I would like to know who made the latest change on all ERDs - we have a few hundred ERDs total. I noticed if you go into the RON and click a diagram, one of the properties is 'Change History' How do you auto-populate this with the username who last modified the ERD?

    Hi BrantEH:
    SCOM does not natively include application-level role security reporting as you describe. Such a feature has been asked for in the past but never added to the product.
    However, since all those actions require SCOM administrator access, you could use SCOM ACS to report when members of the SCOM admin group log on. To leverage this idea, perform all routine SCOM operations logged in a Operator or Advanced Operator roles.
    When one of the auditable actions is needed, log in as SCOM admin, do the work and log off. With ACS installed and appropriate audit policies and reports created, you could get a daily report of SCOM admin logins. That would help you pin down which admin was
    logged in when SCOM administrator event occurred.
    You asked about third party utilities, perhaps something like Quest AD Auditor, etc. but I have no experience with those products used against SCOM.
    Good luck,

  • Sapmnt Log file

    Have two servers, 'sapserver' and 'iscap02' on the network. While performing a client copy on sapserver received the error message "Cannot open log:
    iscap02\sapmnt\trans\log\CC001088.ECC".  Created a host file on 'sapserver' to route the log. The fix worked several times but failed afterwards.
    I removed iscap02 from the network and continue to receive the error message "
    iscap02\sapmnt\trans\log\CC001088.ECC" on sapserver while attempting to perform the client copy.
    Would like to know if there is a cache on sapserver which stores the address for iscap02?
    Where would the message "
    iscap02\sapmnt\trans\log\CC001088.ECC" be stored in SAP?
