Type 'Deplying a Java From' in Help. Under 'Deplying an Infobus Java applet' is a paragraph (maybe the second) which says that its not possible to use DAC Applet clients for EJBs, etc. (if that is what ur trying to do). However, it says that DAC applet client deployment is possible with Visibrobroker objects. Joe, what exactly is it that ur trying to do? I'm working on the

DeployJava.js ,Applet Deployment errors?

Some great work has been done on applet deployment. ref: [Applet deployment toolkit |http://blogs.sun.com/thejavatutorials/entry/deployment_toolkit_101 ]
I've been trying to use this tool with considerable frustration. I'm serving internet applications on Godaddy.com and jar file usage is problematic during development with them. You have to wait for up to 24 hours to deploy .jar contents. What the fix? Use straight up classes to prove out an application. I know that I have users without java browser add ins, and I'd like to use the deployJava routine to keep things easy (for me!)
Problem is that the deployJava.js defaults are set up for JNLP and .jar files. For anybody stuck with "Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: ..." errors, with deployJava, and you are only using .classes and not .jar files, you should be aware of the following:
You have to specifically add the codebase_lookup parameter to the deployJava routine. [ reference: Codebase_lookup |http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/plugin/developer_guide/special_attributes.html] This script assumes codebase_lookup = false. Thats not good for us xxx.class only folks.

I'm sure this is something which could be done easily.In that case, make sure your bug report includes the changes to be made to the JS. Bug reports with code solutions will likely be given a higher priority than reports where the reporter reckons it will be easy for someone else to do the changes.

we are using 9iAS v 10200 in win2000 server.
Here are my queries:
1: Does 9iAS v 10200 support custom installation ? For example I
want to install only web server,webcache,forms & reports support.
If custom installation of individual components is not available
on v 10200 then in which version it is supported ?
2. whenever I try installs 9iAS v 10200 from network,then after
rebooting(during start of installation)it gives JRE error. is
this a limitation of 9iAS v 10200 ?
3. 9iAS v 10200 web cache does not support applet. In which
version of 9iAS web cache would support applet ?

Custom installation is not supported for iAS but we have four
different install types & you can select according to yor need
these are all available with iAS10221 onwards.You check for
installation docs related to the version you are using.

Clustered Servers and Applet (Very URGENT Please)

I'm using win2k/CF application server 4.5/IPlanet web server/NN4.79/JRE1.4.1/.
I have an applet in one of my web page which downloads a file from the web server(stored in http://www.abc.net/doc/zip directory on the server).
Now when I run this code on the development server, everything works fine.
But in production environment, we have 3 clustered web servers controlled by a controller (Local Cisco Director) machine. The applet code looks like this:-

Now when the home page of the site is loaded it makes the connection and controller redirects this request to one of the web servers (say 1) which is least loaded.
Now when the applet is loaded, the new connection is established to the controller and it may redirect the request to any one of the 3 web servers (not necessarily to 1 which is required). Now sometimes it hits the right web server on which the required zip file is stored, and sometimes it doesn't hit the correct server.
Any clue what we can do in this scenario so that the applet downloads the correct file from the right server?
Please help it is very urgent....

</jnlp>The problem is that I can get the applet to run if I specify to the deployment SCRIPT, the following parameters: code, codebase, and archive. At that point, the applet runs but it can't find my my jogl extension. If I manually feed the .jnlp file to web start everything starts up fine. Also, I am hosting these files via apache, and the .jnlp mime type has been set up correctly afaik (mime.types).
So, why is it that the .jnlp file is seemingly being ignored?

Thanks for the reply. Just a quick note, I'm both relatively new at coding in Java, and completely new at deploying anything in Java, so if any of these questions stem from a lack of research on my part, I apologize.
I've been using both these resources as primary references:

You stated that "An embedded applet JNLP should have no code base specified... ". However, according to 1*: "... if some deployment options have different values in the attribute name-value pairs and in the JNLP file ... leave the codebase attribute empty or specify an absolute URL. When the codebase attribute is left empty, it defaults to the directory containing the JNLP file." This is a bit confusing for me, because if I remove codebase attribute from the jnlp, which happens to be the "absolute path to the directory containing the JNLP file", I suddenly get an application error from the jdk web start tool: "BadFieldException[ The field <icon>href has an invalid value: EconomicCenter.jpg,EconomicCenter.jpg]". (The jdk tool starts everything perfectly fine if the codebase attribute is present.)
So I thought that specifying the document base might fix this issue, since my EconomicCenter.jpg resides in the same directory as document base, but that didn't seem to work.
Further, I have some confusion surrounding the point of the code attribute that deployJava.runApplet consumes. What is the difference between the code attribute, and the main-class attribute of the jnlp's applet-desc element?
If I try to launch the embedded applet/jnlp, from my browser, I get the error: "load: class System.AppletShell not found.", and the jnlp file is still seems to be ignored.
Also, I downloaded janela although it hasn't helped terribly much to get my feet off the ground yet, but here's the output in any case (with codebase removed from the jnlp open tag).

Applet deployment in Linux / Unix

Applet deploy on Web Server Apache(Linux)

After developing/Testing the Applet on the JDEVELOPER 3.1, I deployed the jar files created by deployment wizard into the Web Server (Apache on Linux 6.0). When running the applet I received error in Apache log file telling me: File does not exist ../ResTable_en_US.class and I know that
this class is not in any of the deployed jar/zip files, but ResTable.class is in one of the deployed file. I receive a lot of missing file with related error.
How can I tell to the applet to look for ResTable.class and not for ResTable_en_US.class?

I searched the archives and found this:
It seems others have seen this problem also but intermittently on some machines and not others. One suggested workaround that I found is to Switch off the JIT in Java Plug-in 1.2 !
It works now perfectly.

dear fellows i have problem running form 6i on web when i click the run form web icon from form builder it opens applet viewer not browser
and when i clik startup-program file-form 6i-run form from the web firstl i get errrcannot find the file c:'orant\tolls\web60\html\runform.htm (or one of its

Scrollpane to applet size urgent!!!

Hi,
I have 2 issues in my project.
1. I want JScrollPane container in my applet to take the size of applet.
2. I want applet to take the size of browser.
Applet might be run on different computers with different resolutions. So, I want the applet to adjust its size to the browser and the scrollpane to adjust its size to the size of applet.
Please help me in resolving this problem. as my project is looking ugly without the above features.

Closing of Applet(Very Urgent)

A issue to be solved. I have on JApplet and a JOption is displayed on some conditions..on the click of the button in the JOption the applet has to be closed. How can the Applet be closed on some conditions. I used system.exit..it is not doing the thing...
