• How can I generate auto Emails upon successful registration using jsp?

Dear all, I have been researching on how to send auto-emails using JSP for several days but I still do not understand how to do it and how it works! I tried reading JavaMail but i do not understand it can anyone help me?
Thank You very Much,

The mail.jar & activation.jar are part of Tomcat 4.x and up
Here is my simple example, you may want to make bean methods to get/properties so that you create an email like an object :-o
Notice, I make the message body a StringBuffer, so you can append info as you see fit.
Also assuming your SMTP server is the local machine, set that property to "localhost".
I also use a boolean return so I know if the message sent otherwise display a message to the user (aka, please email support to confirm your registration, etc.)

import java.util.Properties;
import javax.mail.*;

static private String from = "registered@localhost";

props.put("mail.smtp.host","localhost");

this.toAddr = new InternetAddress(to);
this.fromAddr = new InternetAddress(from);
this.messageText = new StringBuffer(new Date() + "

");
} catch (Exception e) {

• EMAIL FUNCTION USING JSP

HOW CAN I WRITE A EMAIL FUNCTION USING JSP
WHICH HAVE FORWARD, REPLY, REPLAY ALL, AND ADDRESS BOOK LIKE YAHOO EMAIL FUNCTION
HOW CAN I WRITE IT?

I meant you would face a considerable challenge trying to write
public static void main(String[] arg) { } with your Caps-Lock key stuck.
You would not even be able to escape your way out of it with
public static void main(String[] arg) { } as the "\u" escape sequence also contains a lowercase character.

Would Like to Get Report of Daily Emails In and Out from Members to a DL
Exchange version : 2007
I am the supervisor for the group and want to quantify this information. I do not need to see the content, just quantity
is it possible ?

Well, distribution groups don't really have a concept of "in" or "out". They only serve to distribute messages sent to them -- unless you're asking to know who was a member of the distribution group at the time a message was sent to the DL.
Message tracking logs hold the information you want, though. You'd have to look for EXPAND events that reference the distribution group and take the sender's e-mail address from that event. If the DL is a simple one that's not a member of any other groups
you could also look for RECEIVE events sent to the e-mail address of the group and get the sender's name from that event.
You can use Powershell extract the rows of data from the logs, but you'll have to write the code to get the data out of those rows and into a format you want. Perhaps LogParser could be useful in place of Powershell?

//properties.setProperty("mail.smtp.auth","true");
//properties.setProperty("mail.debug","false");
Authenticator authenticator=new Authenticator()
public PasswordAuthentication getPasswordAuthentication()
return new PasswordAuthentication("from mail id","your password");
Session session=Session.getInstance(properties,authenticator);
message=new MimeMessage(session);
Address fromaddress=new InternetAddress("from mail id");
message.setFrom(fromaddress);
}catch (Exception x){System.out.println("one :"+x);}
synchronized public void sendMail(String messText,String messSubject,String address)
try{
message.setText(messText);
message.setSubject(messSubject);
Address toaddress=new InternetAddress(address);
message.addRecipient(javax.mail.Message.RecipientType.TO,toaddress);
Transport.send(message);
}catch(Exception e){System.out.println("two :"+e);}
for this you must have two jmail jar files. activation.jar and mail.jar

I urgently require tips/information/code snippet for creating a Dynamic Tree structure.
Tree is the hierarchical folder structure that we see in windows operating system.
Dynamic tree in the sense that all nodes shall be populated from database & a radio button shall be present at each node that can be selected & submitted to form.
Tree should be done using JSP (& if required Javascript).
I am using Struts framework .

• Exception notification through Email in JSP and Tomcat 5.5

Hi,
I have developed a Web application using jsp on Tomcat 5.5 web server. I want and email sent to myself if any exception occurs on the server side along with the exception.
I am not sure if it can be done on JSP or its part of Tomcat configuration.
I hope you guys could help me
Thank you

Check this page:
http://www.imagescript.com/atg/articles/jsp_j2ee/error_page_basics.htm
That explains how to set your own error page. Inside that jsp you can use the JavaMail api to send the exception as an email.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

• How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application witth just a JRE [Web Application, WAR, JSP, weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds and JRE]

How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application (either a .war file or a war directory structure) without a java compiler?
I suspect either the JSP specification is flawed (i.e. it doesn't take account of servers using just a JRE), or BEA's implementation is broken.
Production servers do not have a JDK installed. They only have a JRE. Therfore a java compiler is not present on the machine that the Web Application is deployed onto.
On the development machine, when the server is requested to load the JSP it creates a tmpwar directory within the Web Application directory structure. This is then included in the resultant .war file thus:
D:\war>jar -tf gmi.war
META-INF/
META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
gmiService.jsp
WEB-INF/
WEB-INF/classes/
WEB-INF/classes/com/
WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/
WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/
WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/gmiService.class
WEB-INF/getList.xsl
WEB-INF/getListByConnection.xsl
WEB-INF/getListByDistrict.xsl
WEB-INF/getListByDistrictConnection.xsl
WEB-INF/lib/
WEB-INF/source/
WEB-INF/source/build.bat
WEB-INF/source/gmiService.java
WEB-INF/web.xml
WEB-INF/weblogic.xml
tmpwar/
tmpwar/jsp_servlet/
tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.class
tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.java
When deployed on the production server with the web.xml file set to use the following values (note XML stripped):
weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds
-1
weblogic.jsp.precompile
false
weblogic.jsp.compileCommand
javac
weblogic.jsp.verbose
true
weblogic.jsp.packagePrefix
jsp_servlet
weblogic.jsp.keepgenerated
false
And in the weblogic.properties file:
weblogic.httpd.webApp.gmi=war/gmi
I've also tried with the .war file, but that insists on creating another tmpwar directory outside of the .war file.
Then, although I have set pageCheckSeconds to -1 (don't check and don't recompile) ter production server still attempts to recompile the JSP's:
Mon Sep 25 11:40:11 BST 2000: <WebAppServletContext-gmi> *.jsp: init

The default Java compiler from sun lives in the tools.jar that comes with
the JDK. Just add that to your set of JARs which are deployed in production
and you should be fine. No need to install the full JDK - just make the
tools.jar available to WebLogic.

• Use JSP update MSSQL server with Chinese content

Hi,
I am using weblogic 7.0 server
win2k english version with Trad.Chinese support. Default encoding is en.
MS SQL server with database collate in Chinese_Taiwan_Stroke
I can use SQl server's query analyser to insert Chinese characters
and after modifying
web.xml and weblogic.xml
to include InputChar as Big5 and encoding as Big5
I can also use JSP's getParameter() to get Chinese characters from form
input.
Now the problem is,
when I use JSP to execute a UPDATE or INSERT statement to the database, and
if the SQL statement contains chinese characters as content
(like INSERT into table1 (field1) values ('some chinese characters'))
the statement is executed without error,
but the content updated in SQL server becomes "???" for all Chinese
characters.
Would anyone please kindly help? Thanks!

Hi,
Have you checked that your DOS panel that starts your windows is correctly
set ? (see CHCP values)
I guess that can have some influence on the Java processes when updating and
insterting.
Best regards
