[DAQmx] How to delete a timing source ?

Everything is in the title.
I created a timing source in my application, used for defining a hardware frequency control of a timing loop. The problem is that I did not found any VI to delete it, as I would need to modify its parameters.
Is there a way to clear a timing source ?

I did the modification that proposed Albert : I modified the VI that creates the timing source for having the task out parameter. To avoid problems for deployment, I saved the file into the project with a new name.
When clearing the corresponding task, the timing source can be created again, with possibly new parameters. So it works now as expected.
About Kevin proposal, I also checked that, but it seems that all properties are "read only" . Automatic clear of DAQmx task as proposed by Stuart seems to be done only when the application exits, and I do not want to do that on my RT application (to restart the exe, I think I have no other choice than rebooting, and moreover I have a TCP connection with a remote computer that I cannot close).
Well, it would be nice that future version of "DAQmx create timing source" using physical counter also inlcudes this task out terminal, or a dedicated VI able to clear the timing source using its name for example.

    Hi Sumit Kalyan
Since your are using process order, I would like to know whether you are using process management function or not.
(Especially your are following GMP scenario ? This guide line is basically used pharmaceutical industry.
If you work with GMP scenario, before your are archiving your process order, you need to create electronic batch creation and archiving.
Then you can archive your process order and delete it completely from your system.
You can check whether your are using GMP scenario or not in your process order type.
    (T-CD COR4).
If you are not. All you need to do is set deletion flag and deletion indicator to your process order and then archive your process order (you can use program PRARCHP1) by using archiving object PR_ORDER (you can call this object from t-cd sara or COAC).
I hope this information help you.

I used to work at company and sent email from that email address. I do not work there now but when I send new or replies to anyone, that old email address is plunked into the from email.

No....Did not work....I followed your instructions numerous times.
    Problem....Remains....
When I compose an new email the FROM email address list alphabetically as AAAA, BBBB, CCCC. If I don't select CCCC it automatically sends the email from AAAA which no longer exist. Recipients of the email who reply to the AAAA email address are informed no such address exist.
    I agree....
My question is How do I delete BOTH AAAA and BBBB email addresses from being used? Is there a simple table I can access?

  • How to delete source system in BI system

    Dear Experts ,
recently we finished client copy in BI production system to quality system,
now we are facing problem with source system connections in bI system
in RSA1 APO production system's source system is comes to BI quality system now i need to delete that APO source system in BI quality system ..please let me the process how can i delete source in BI quality
can i delete it as below
log in into BI quality system --> RSA1 --> select source system which i need to deletse --> right click & delete
or we have any other process to delete it.
    Regards

    Hi Swathimatta,
Apart from the two ways to delete the source system:
1.- log in into BI quality system --> RSA1 --> select source system which i need to deletse --> right click & delete
    2.- Execcuting the FM 'RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT.
If you cannot delete the source system:
Use fuction module RSAR_LOGICAL_SYSTEM_DELETE to delete
    the source system:
    1 - Go to SE37.
    2 - Run fuction module RSAR_LOGICAL_SYSTEM_DELETE.
3 - Fill with the parameters as mentioned below:
          I_LOGSYS          = FUENTE
          I_FORCE_DELETE    = X
          I_NO_TRANSPORT    =
          I_NO_AUTHORITY    =
Or follow the recommendations from note 140276, Solution 2:
"You cannot delete the source system. Two cases have to be distinguished:
o  The source system still exists.
Switch to Transaction SM59. Find the destination which has the
same name as the logical system of the source system from field
SLOGSYS in table RSBASIDOC (see above).
           -  Such a destination does not exist in Transaction SM59. In this
case, you have to create the destination to the source system.
Name the destination equal the entry in SLOGSYS from above.
Then return to the Administrator Workbench and repeat the
              deletion.
           -  The entry exists but a remote login is not possible. Correct
              the communication parameters.
           -  Everything works. Change to Transaction SE37, function module
              RSAR_LOGICAL_SYSTEM_DELETE, Sngl. test. Parameter I_LOGSYS =
              <log. name of the source system>, I_FORCE_DELETE = 'X'.
o  The source system no longer exists or was replaced with another
source system with the same IP address.
Proceed as described in the first case but make sure, that the
field 'Target host' contains a not existing server in the
maintenance screen of the destination (Transaction SM59). If
necessary, change an existing entry. Later when you delete, the
system asks you whether you want to delete, although the source
system is not available. Select 'Ignore'. "
I hope it can help you.
    Regards,
    Fran.

  • Daqmx timing source issue

I have attached zip containing 2 folders. Both are doing same functionality but one using software timed 50ms loop. the other one is hardware based timing source.
I run , quit & re-run the application. Both the applications works well. But the ISSUE folder containg application hardware timing sourced app, after quit, the EXE process keeps running in the background & needs to be stopped using Ctrl+Alt+Del invoking the task manager.
As many times I click on to run the app, it works ok only, but holding the EXE process in background.
Hope someone helps to resolve this. Im using LV2009 + PCI 6229.

    Hi,
I found the solution to the problem: using the latest NI-DAQmx drivers v.8.0.
It was directly related to my M-series card (PXI 6221) not correctly working in my PXI chassis due to apparently bad drivers or a bug in version 7.5.

  • Strange DAQmx Timing Source Timed Loop Error

I have a digital edge counter fed into a timed loop. Everything works fine until I stop the loop, and stop the DAQ task. Once I restart the loop it fails with "resource is reserved". Attached is my code.

Here is a piece of code to illustrate the issue. If the timing source is created in the loop (it will be created each loop iteration) the error occurs. If it is moved outside the loop, and only created once the issue is resolved. Is there a way to RELEASE the timing source so that it can be created again? If the VI is stopped, this "resource" is released. I want to programatically release it.
Note the error comes from the timed loop Error terminal that is Probed (50).

  • DTP Indicator Only Get Delta Once: How to handle deleted records in source

    Hi colleagues,
I have checked some messages and blogs, but could not find any solution for deleted records in source system.
My source system is not able to delivere delta for my table of interest. So I checked "Only Get Delta Once" in my DTP and made some tests.
It works very well for changes of existing records of the source table.
But, SAP help on this features wirtes:
...If this is not logically possible because, for example, data is deleted in the source without delivering reverse records, you can set this indicator and perform ...
I checked this feature by selecting less data from source at the second load from the same table. But recordmode does not get an deletion flag for the now missing records. So, the indicator "Only Get Delta Once" does not work like BI standard delta mechanism?
    What is wrong?
    Thanks and regards,
    Wolfgang

    Hi,
If you select the option 'Only get delta once', then every request in the PSA will only be loaded into the Data target once. For example. If you load a full request into the PSA through an InfoPackage and then load it to the Cube. In a snapshot scenario, when the new full load comes to the PSA you will need to delete the previous request from the cube before loading the new request.
But if you delete the previous request from the cube, and not from the PSA - and if you haven't checked the 'Only get delta once' flag, when you execute the DTP, it will load both previous and the new requests from the PSA to the cube. In order to avoid this you have 2 options:
    1. You can delete a request from the PSA after every successful load into the Cube OR
    2. You can check the 'Only get delta once' flag in the DTP so that it won't load any request it has loaded into the cubes previously even if it was deleted from the cube.
Using the second option de-couples the PSA maintenance from your regular data loading and also saves you an additional step of deleting the PSA request in your process chain.

  • Using the 6023E in LV 7.1, how can I get timing between two events to microsecond precision?

I am a student and I have only been using LV for a few weeks so cut me some slack. I know similar questions have been on the forum 10 times but I am still having problems. I am sending a signal to a PIC microcontroller that controls the signal generation of a 40KHz acoustic ranging circuit. The output of the hardware goes high when an echo is detected. I need LV to start/restart a clock every time a signal is sent to the microcontroller and stop the clock when an echo is detected. It will use the time to computer the range. I am using the 6023E board and LV 7.1 and I know everything on my hardware is working correctly. I have a digital output going to the microcontroller and an analog input with a VI for detecting a voltage threshold listening for when an echo is received. I have looked through some other forum questions and examples and have come up with three different approaches. Originally I was trying to use the ms tick count VI but I've already read up on why that deos not work.
The first VI posted below (ALIS2wavd) uses a timed loop. I can't seem to get the timed loop to run correctly with a 1 MHz clock. I am currently trying to use the DAQMx Create Timing Source.vi. Basically, the timed loop should run at 1 MHz and I would use the loop count to see how many times it runs before a signal is received. I also use the loop count to control how long I send the signal to the microcontroller, and how long to wait for an echo before starting over. In all of my VI's, the goal is to send a signal to the microcontroller for about .1ms and listen for an echo for 1-2ms.
The second VI posted uses a VI for timing that I found on devzone. The timing VI that I found is also below. This really looks like a mess right now, sorry. You may want to look at the timing VI first. It uses counters to get a pre and post count and subtract to find the total time elapsed. I have the DAQmx read.vi's in the loop so that it will be subtracting the time of the first pulse from the time of the echo each iteration. At its closest point to working, this VI would return the same number for the range every time, meaning it was counting the same amount of time each iteration. I know the timing VI works accurately so I am guessing that there is a problem with my structure or the way I am using the DAQmx functions.
In the last VI I am trying to use a counter to do something similar to what the timed loop VI should have been doing. I am setting up an egde count and controlling the transmit and detect time with this count. The value of the count when an echo is detected would be used to determine the elapsed time. Im not sure why this isn't working either.
NOTE In all of these VIs there is an enable button and a PIC microcontroller frequency test. The VIs won't step into the case structure without both of these as true so you might want to get rid of them if you want to try to test anything. In trying to fix these VIs I may have made little changes that actually made the situation worse so keep that in mind too. Originally I was using just DAQ Assistant VIs to do the input and output but I switched the the DAQmx functions in the loops because I thought the assistant VIs might be causing the problem. Also, I noticed that there is a count events or time.vi on the traditional counter palette. I can't use the traditional functions at the same time as the DAQmx functions so I was wondering if there is an equivalent time counter VI for DAQmx that I just do not have?

  • Create Timing Source problem in RT deterministic loop

I'm updating an old LV 7.1 vi to run with LV10 and DAQmx.  We have a deterministic timed loop driven by an external 10 kHz clock source.  As I understand, it should be possible to set up this functionality using a timed loop and the DAQmx Create Timing Souce vi.  The attached image shows how I wired it up.
This vi is deployed to a PXI system running LV 2010 with 6608 system timing card (Dev 1).  I'm using counter 1 on the 6608 to create the timing source.  I have an external 10 kHz square wave (5 V p-p)  connected to Src1 (PFI35) on Dev 1.
The problem:  the loop seems to be using a 1 kHz clock, even though I've specified the counter and input for a 10 kHz source.  If I choose a frequency of 20 Hz (500 edge counts for a 10 kHz clock) the actual loop frequency is only 2 Hz.  But, the loop stops if I disconnect the 10kHz signal, so it is somehow using the specified counter !!??  How can this be?  Is there additional counter configuration needed here??  I've verified the external clock signal is exactly 10kHz with an oscilloscope.
    Thanks for any thoughts.

OK.  I solved this one.  You need to wire a "1" constant to the period input node of the timed loop.  The default value of "10" will only execute the loop on every 10th clock pulse, hence the factor of 10 decrease in loop frequency.

  • How to delete the old code in the EXIT_SAPLRSAP_001

    Hi All,
In R3 system, I wrote an exit for 2LIS_11_VAHDR  by using T-code CMOD in the function exit EXIT_SAPLRSAP_001 and the code does not meet my requirement today i want to delete the code and i will write the fresh one. now my problem is i am not able to delete the code can any body suggest me how to delete the old code.
and can we create new project and can we assign to the Enhancement RSAP0001.
Can anybody suggest me in this
    Thanks in advance......
    Narendra

    Hi Narendra,
You can put the code in comments, if you don't want to use the old code..You can delete also..But be sure that code belongs to you only..
    SE38>zxrsau01>change-->find out your data source
Comment(Or can delete) the code starting from WHEN '2LIS_11_VAHDR'. to the end of the code that you have written..
If you really want to delete the assignment of RSAP0001 to your old project>goto CMOD>your project name>change>delete assigment
Then create a new project and assign the enhancement RSAP0001 to your new project and write the code in Include 'ZXRSAU01'..
    Hope it helps
    Thanks
