Data base User Creation

I want to create a user from the prodcution enviorment to UAT enviorment. I do import and export for restoration of database . During restoration i drop the user from the UAT enviorment and create user and with grant connect resources and unlimited tablespace. I can i be sure the same priveleges and rights are there in UAT enviroment.

Bad thing unlimited tablespace, it means that your user can write without limits on any tablespace, SYSTEM included. I'd avoid that.
About privileges, if I understand, you want to create the user in UAT environment with same configuration as production. If so, then check out following dictionary views :
DBA_SYS_PRIVS
DBA_ROLE_PRIVS
DBA_TAB_PRIVS
DBA_COL_PRIVS
for example
SQL> select * from dba_sys_privs where grantee='<YOUR USER>'; -- note uppercase

When I try to select a dBase file as my data source location in Crystal Reports, CR wants a user name and log in id for the dBase file...previously, I did not have a user name or log in id for my dBase file so I went back into dBase and created a user name and password...CR still will not recognize my user name id or password.

The My Connections are used for any existing connections you may have used and/or what the report is based on and the list gets populated if you simply click on the refresh button without setting location first.
Open your report, click on Database, Set Location and expand Create New Connection. Double Click on Database Files and browse to your DBF file. Set location for all tables used and then Verify the report. This should update your report and put the now working connection in the list of Current connections.

How to check the validation at data base level as well as current user ente

Dear all
i have creation page in that item code will not enter the duplicate values
in that creation page contains advanced table
user will click on create 15 blank records using add another row
suppose in first row user will enter LAPTOP assume this item code
in this case i need to raise exception through databse level
in second row also user enter LAPTOP1 in this case exception will not raise becaause data is not there at databse
in third row user will enter LAPTOP1 in this case item is not there in data base but it is there in second row in this case
i need to raise exception
how to achieve this

You can validate this in form submission.
1. Call a method in AMImpl.java
2. loop the ViewObjects and check the values
3. If you find a match, throw the error

Can any one help me to configure the mysql table to enable user expiration to function, I have tryed most things, but not dates are being passed back to the data base from the form

Im trying to build user expiration into my registration form, but I cant get the form to send back the date registering.
in my data base i have tried every thing from timestamp to datetime. I can get a timestamp but it is not functioning with the expiration?

just have a look at my tutorial Login tables: installation & configuration where the required column attributes are explained and where you can obtain a fully functional SQL dump for a typical ADDT "login" and (optionally) "login_stats" table.
BTW, "expiration" will have to be an "int" column.

User Preset Data Base for Logic Pro's instruments - Synths, etc

I realize Logic Pro 9 comes with more instrument presets than any one person can audition in a single day, or a week or month for that matter. But I am looking for the data base where other users have shared their own settings. Line 6 has one for Pod Farm and despite their 1000 presets, I found what other users did to be super amazing. Back to Logic Pro, I searched last year for a Theremin sample and someone created it in one of Logic's synths and posted it.
I can't imagine I'm the first person to ask this questions. I must not be searching correctly. Please help.

9i can't connect to a data base, even when I use another user's tnanames.or

I can't connect to a data base, even using tnsping with a tnanames.ora file that I copied from a user's PC that was able to connect. It's a new install of 9i on my PC. What did I miss? I'm on a Win 2000 box and Oracle is on a UNIX server.
Here's the description from the tnsnames.ora file:

I want to create a field in data base table , which holds the float values but i don't want to use the FLTP data type, why bcoz if i use this data type in selection screen of the table the the field is not appeqring, i dont want to go for the option QUAN bcoz there i need to define the ref table and ref field.

I have installed Oracle 10g server in windows server 2008 and the domain & active directory r created now i am trying to create the databse i am getting usual error (tns protocol adapter error ) in the 2% i have removed the domain and the active directory from windows then i created but this is not a solutions i need to create the data base in the domain server...

I am new with data bases in Java. I need to build a servlet that saves data in data base. I would like to use mySQL. I really don't know nothing about mySQL and JDBC, only that it is free and it uses SQL (which I knows).

What are you trying to achieve with a single WITH clause and no SELECT?
Please see this from the documentation if you want to use it properly :

Apart from its true purpose of subquery factoring, the WITH clause is often use here and there to simulate a table content, but you'll always need a SELECT.
Maybe that's what you were trying to do?
As for your question, starting with release 10.2, Oracle provides XMLTable to shred XML documents into relational structures.

Hi All SAP experts,
My company has implemented 2 Systems SAP Landscape with one development and one production server which are running on R/3 Enterprise 4.7 (Kernel Release 6.20) with Microsoft SQL 2000 as database server.
I have the following questions regarding new sap user creation by using user copy function.
1.When I request to create new SAP User by using user copy function ,should I just create the user acct in DEV and transport it to PROD System? If yes, how could I do that?
2.When I request to create new SAP User by using user copy function, can I just create it on PROD System only? If yes, what is the impact?
3.When using User copy function to create new user acct, should I select all parts (like adress ,defaults,reference user, user groups.....) of the existing user to be cloned to new user acct?

Hi Leon,
Answer to your questions in their respective order:
1. You can create user in DEV and then make remote client copy to PRD system using scc9 t-code. Here you can choose user accounts and authorizations for the copy. ( Rem: Data will be overwritten in target system when copied).
You can also use client export/import(scc8/scc7)
But, When you do the client import from the exported files using STMS,you will have to select only one of the transport requests and then STMS automatically selects the other requests for you.
Then it will show you the different transport requests that you have created during your export, the client copy profile and the target system and client. The customizing and application data is deleted in the target client before copying for all profiles except SAP_USER. This is technically unavoidable (and hence the data will be overwritten).
So if you can afford overwritting of user data in target client , you can go with the above procedure.
2. Using user copy in su01, you can copy one user to another user only in that client and is confined to that system only. So yes, If you want 2 or more users to have same authorizations, profiles ,etc etc.. you can choose this in PROD system.
3. It depends.. If you want user to be in same group, then you can choose user groups. If you want them to have same authorizations , you can choose roles and profiles... If you want them to have same company address and others,... you can select address.. and so on.
