Data list box\drop down multiple fields ?

Hi trying out Livecycle and try to put together an invoice page. I have created 3 coloums in excell with catlog number, description, value. I can get the description list into a dropdown but don't understand how to connect it to both its catlog number and price.
What I want is to put choose the item and the catlog number and price to appear in the the boxs left and right of it.
Any suggestions, and links to tutorials to achieve this.

Hi Rosalin,
Loop the hidden table, get the values and populate drop down in each iteration.
DropDownList1.addItem("Text","Value");
You can use one more solution for this scenario. If it is a matter of 2,3 dropdowns, put three dropDowns in the form layout and give seperate static data binding to them. At run time make the dropDowns hide/visible as per the requirement.

Work around / fix for making a list of drop down boxes

Dear experts,
When lists are created, its cells act like top-level views. Because of this, everything attempting to go past the border of the list item is clipped. This is a problem when making a list of drop down boxes. Is there a known work around for this or maybe a fix?

thank you saish, moving 'the artists are' helps visually, as for the fix, i really needed to store it in an arrayList, resultSets aren't very happy about being manipulated!
here's the fix:

Crystal report Chose from List or drop down value in parameter from UDT

Hi Experts,
I had face a issue while creating a report for my client in crystal report , I had create a report and in the parameter field I want to select the value from the chose from list or drop down value from the User define table.
In parameter had written field as : Code@Select * from dbo. [@UDT] ; but in the report filled I am not able to select the value.

You cannot put all the values in a single parameter field so you need to select each field for each parameter...

The only problem is, the XML form data only contains the first selection made. All others are discarded. This is the first thing I've ever done with the Life Cycle Designer but the product seems somewhat in a version 1 state. Lots of features but no depth. Any suggestions about the XML?

How to modify the list item drop down context menu in SharePoint 2010

I have a requirement to add my name in the list item drop down context menu, already "Assigned ticket" option is available in the context menu and some names are available in the assigned ticket option. but i can't able to add my name in this options.

Do you know how the currently listed values got there in the first place? Some sort of custom code or action? Some background information would help. There is obviously a source feeding it from somewhere, but it's impossible for us to tell you exactly
what just by looking at your scribbled-over screenshot
Check WSPs that are deployed to the farm. Check for any non-OOTB site features that are turned on...

Copy text fields and drop down menu fields

Hi,
Using LiveCycle Designer ES, I am making a simple form with some text fields and along with some drop-down menu fields. With the resulting pdf, I need for one to be able to select the appropriate selection in the drop-down menus. Then using cntl-a to select everything and then cntl-v to copy it into a text document. This approach will only copy the text fields and not what is showing in the drop-down menu field. Is there any way to solve this problem? The end users computer has limited tools and software cannot be installed on it.

I don't really know if the text field can be selected using Ctl+a, but if that is possible how about adding extra text field that is linked to pulldown menu?
If the usage of the PDF is only for copying, then I would make a formcalc or javascript to combine all the text into one text field so that user only need to copy paste one field.

Linking a library to a list - filtering data per selected drop down / check box item

Good day,
I am rather new to SharePoint and have run into a dilemma. Is it possible to link a library to a list, then create a parent-child relationship between the the department (list) to document (library)?
Example - I have a library that contains 100+ documents, the library is filtered using groups/subgroups.
IT
-> IT TX (30 docs)
-> IT WI (10 docs)
Biz Ops
-> Biz Ops WI (8 docs)
-> Biz Ops CA (5 docs)
In the list I created I have departments as a required field, and a dropdown tool that shows the 5 departments that contain items that need to be grouped together. (Biz Ops, IT, HR, Sales, and Compliance)
I have linked the library of documents to the form (list), using "Lookup (information already on this site)". All the documents in the library appear in the selection box within the list. However is it possible to first select a department which
then filters documents only tied to said department? So at the beginning of the list you choose the department you wish to browse the documents, then it filters out all documents not related to that department?
My apologies if this is long winded and confusing. Your help is most appreciative.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to filter the corresponding documents from a Document Library when you selected a department in a List.
I recommend that you can follow the steps as below to implement it in your environment.
1. Create a new Web Part Page and add the Document Library and the List web part into it.
2. Click the List web part, click the current web part’s drop-down arrow, choose Connections, Send Row of Data To, and then choose the Document Library web part.
3. Click the Document Library web part, choose the “All Items” view from the Selected View, click the current web part’s drop-down arrow, choose Connections, Get Filter Values From,
and then choose the List web part.
4. Open the Configure Connection – Webpage Dialog, choose the “Department” column from the Provider Field Name drop-down list and choose the “Group” column from the Consumer Field
Name drop-down list.
5. Click Apply, OK button, save the Web Part Page and test it in your environment.

Select MULTIPLE default values for a multiple selection list box based on another field in Infopath 2010

Hello there - Before I explain my issue, I would like to point out that I have reviewed some other discussions on selecting default values for multiple selection listbox. But my issue is specific and different, and not answered by any of the discussions
I visited.
I have a multiple selection list box (say for example all countries in the world as values), and I would like to pre-select or setup multiple default values (say five countries) based on some criteria that I query from MS SQL database table.
I know we can go to Data | Default Values option to setup one or many default values for multiple selection list box. When I enter the default values manually this works. I also right click the field under the Multiple-Selection List Box group, then select
Add another Value Below and set the Default Value for this field to setup multiple default values.
However, if I reference a field (either an infopath field or a field from SQL database) I am not able to setup multiple default values. Infopath automatically selects the last field I selected for all instances and in the end I am able to see only one
default value selected instead of many. How to fix this problem? Why would infopath allow multiple default values when we enter it manually but not when we reference some fields?
Please let me know if you need more info. Appreciate your help.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to set multiple default values for a multiple checkbox list in InfoPath form.
I did a test with SQL database table. I set three default values for the checkbox list by adding three values field under the group field(Data->Default values), each value field is for a default value. Then publish it to my SharePoint site, everything

This is what I am trying to do -
Lets consider there are 3 drop down lists (Choice - Select Many). A simple example lists are - Country, State, County. Now users selects country from drop down, I need to get all the states for that country as the data for the "State" drop down list. Then user selects a state, I need to populate data for the "County" drop down list.
I am trying to do this. I added a ValueChangeListener method in the backing bean and tried to add this on the "Select Many Choice" component. But the method is never fired. I tried to change few other properties like - "immediate", "Auto Submit". but method is not fired.The method in backing bean is as shown below -

Email address list populated drop down disappearing on the to / cc / bcc fields when composing emails

First the symptoms:
As far as I can see this effects only the v5.0 RIM OS. We have a multitude of users and the ones who are affected all shared the same trait: they had newer, v5.0 OS preinstalled on their BBerries. The ones with v4.7 never had the problem (might be a coinsidence, nothing solid here)
The user cannot see a drop down of email addresses prepopulated with the recently used ones, and with the option to "lookup" the email address. User starts typing the email address, and no drop down is shown while composing email.
If the user manually types in the email address into the To, Cc or BCc fields, the adress will not be permanent and the email will not be sent at all. The "send" menu item will not be visible when the track ball is pressed.
Quick remedy to send emails:
Hit the enter key after typing in the email address. Do NOT switch to the next row using the track ball, or pressing the trackball. Hit the enter key. Then you will be able to send the email.
Backing up the user files and wiping the handset and re-installing the OS seems to resolve the issue, alas, one user had the same problem again in a month after the operation. So that is NOT a permanent solution.
Funny fix: On the affected device, go to email options -> Options / General Options / "Show recent contacts when composing email" and just switch it to whatever is in there. If it is Yes, make it No, if it is No, make it yes. Then save. And the drop down should become visible again. Counter-intuitively, this setting was YES on on affected device, we switched it to No just for the sake of having made a change, saved the settings and the drop down became visible with the setting at "NO". When we switched it back to "YES" the drop down became invisible again

Once you have the Write window open, press F9 to open the Contact Sidebar. Select your contacts from there.

How do I remove email address not in contact list.they drop down when in the "to"field trying to either fwd ,send or reply. How did they get there in the first place. And the edit key does not show in my contacts

When sending email wether reply or fwd or new addresses drop down that not show in my contacts. How do,I remove them and how did they get there? And the edit key notmshowing in my contacts.
Someone else's reply nothing that could be done short of clearing out all contacts and starting over. But these are not in my contacts!!!!!!!!!! So,that is not an answer

So are you telling me that anyone I ever send n email to will appear in the drop down list but not in contacts? I don't have that many contacts on list so are younsayingmi would have to remove them all to remove the unwanted address in the drop down to go away? If that is not please explain
