    Hi y'all,
    What is the primary used of an xsd:token data type? If a target element declared as xsd:token of min length – 1 and max length – 8 be mapped to an xsd:string element in the source?

    Hi,
    If you guarantee that your mappin fulfill the definition there will be no errors in other case you should get an error.
    Definition:   token represents tokenized strings. The ·value space· of token is the set of strings that do not contain the carriage return (#xD), line feed (#xA) nor tab (#x9) characters, that have no leading or trailing spaces (#x20) and that have no internal sequences of two or more spaces. The ·lexical space· of token is the set of strings that do not contain the carriage return (#xD), line feed (#xA) nor tab (#x9) characters, that have no leading or trailing spaces (#x20) and that have no internal sequences of two or more spaces. The ·base type· of token is normalizedString.

  • Data Type Length --- Urgent

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell me how bits/bytes is one character... Is there any function module to find out the length of a character / string / any other data types in terms of bits/bytes???
    Regards
    Jiku

    Hi Jiku,
    length of a character depends on your system settings, if the system is running on UniCode (2 Byte) or Non UniCode (1 Byte).
    Length of a string: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fc/eb33d9358411d1829f0000e829fbfe/frameset.htm
    Length of other data type look into DESCRIBE syntax.

  • Getting a Time value from a datetime data type in SQL Server - URGENT!

    Hi guys
    I have an urgent issue here -
    I have a datetime data type in a SQL Server database. The field holds both a time, and a date within it.
    I am able to pull the date out of the field by using:
    Date sDate = Date();
    while (gd.next()) {
    sDate = gd.getDate(2);
    how do this with the time????
    Thanks

    Hi,
    The funny part here is that you have already done it! The API is a great thing to use to help in your programming.
    API: The class Date represents a specific instant in time, with millisecond precision.
    You want time, you got it! How about:
    sDate.getTime();
    sDate.getMinutes();
    sDate.getHours();
    sDate.getSeconds();
    Not enough?

  • Complex data type to application service create method(CRUD)(Urgent)

    Hi Experts,
    I have created an entity service with remote persistency(Web service).i am mapping the entity service CRUD methodes to web service methodes and i am calling these CRUD methodes form the corresponding applicaion service CRUD methodes.With out complex data types both sevices are working  fine.I have tested them in the service browser.
    Later I have created a complex data type in the entity service and mapped it to web service.But when i am creating the application service create(CRUD) method for this entity service the complex data type which i have created in the entity service is not being shown as possible input attributes of the application service create method.Due to this i am not able to pass this complex attribute form the application service create method to the entity service create method.
    Plz tell me how can i resilve this issue.(Urgent)
    Thanks

    Hi Sampath,
    Please check SAP note 1004108. I think the issue you describe is one of the limitations described in this note.

  • URGENT:data type declaration of container within the method

    Hi
    My requirement is when the user revceives mail to approve/reject invoice ,the user attaches an attachmnet in the workitem stating the reson for approval/rejection of invoice.The attached attachement should be uploaded to invoice as an attachment.
    I have observed that the attachment attached by the user is stored in the container "office_document" and the type of the container is SOFM.
    To capture the attachment and send it to invoice i have created new task and new method in ZBUS2081.
    i created a container "office_doc_atta" in the workflow .the type of office_doc_atta is SOFM .
    in the method  as well as task i also declared parameter "office_doc_atta" of type sofm.
    to fetch the data from Task to method i have declared following table
    data:office_doc_atta type swc_object occurs 0 with header line.
    swc_get_table container 'office_doc_atta' office_doc_atta.
    I think that data type of "office_doc_atta" decalred within the method
    is wrong and i am unable to fetch data from the container.
    If anyone know what should be the data type of office_doc_atta within the method and how to fetch data from the task kindly let me know.
    Points will be rewarded.

    Try using SWOTOBJID instead of SWC_OBJECT.
    SWOTOBJID is the data type for a persistent object ID, while SWC_OBJECT is the data type for a runtime object ID (or reference or handle, if you are more familiar with any of those terms).
    Normally, an object will be passed by the persistent object ID. As the name reveals, the ID is persistent, i.e. remains the same. Therefore it can be stored in a database, and passed to the next step in a workflow - even if this step is executed by a different person another day.

    Please don't use the word urgent in your subject (or in the question for that matter). There are many reasons for this, some of which are:
    1) This is not a help desk or service organization, there are no response time guarantees based on how important a problem is for you.
    2) Most people visit SDN when time permits.
    3) Due to the previous 2 that particular word annoys more than it inspires.
    4) It is specifically mentioned in the guidelines that you should not use that word.
    5) It is a word with no accuracy. It would be better if you wrote (in the question, not the subject) that you need to solve this within 2 days - then we know your deadline.
    6) If I'm in the right mood I will ignore all questions marked as urgent for at least one day. Just for the heck of it.

  • Urgent!!!----Update a field of Long data type via trigger

    While it is obvious that it is no way for an Oracle trigger to update a field of a Long data type, is it a feasible way to call a java stored procedure from the trigger to achieve that purpose? If not, can you suggest any good solution to this?
    Thanks so much.

    Scripter -
    When you try to do a Set and Put, it is always good to explicitly set the statement's cursor type to something other than forward only, like keyset, and the lock type to something other than read-only. See if that helps...

  • Help its really urgent.....Data type mismatch in criteria expression.

    hello everyone....
    I m trying to retrive an int value from Access database with query
    String query = "SELECT * FROM M_PROCESS WHERE PROCESS_NAME = '"+selected_process+"' ";
    Here selected_process is the string retrived from a JSP page using request.getparameter and it may retrive value with multiple spaces in it.
    i m able to retrive selected_process correctlly but when i call another servlet method to execute query with statement
    ResultSet rs = dbcon.execQuery(query);
    I get an error
    Error in connection in execution[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Data type mismatch in criteria expression.
    can anyone help.....
    note: the datatype of PROCESS_NAME is TEXT . dbcon is the object of servlet connection manager which is responsible for connection establishment and query execution.

    Hi Nix,
    If its an Interger value use "+xxxx+" if string then use ' " ++"'
    or else try to convert the string value to interger...
    it will work

  • URGENT: Illegal Argument Exception for  RAW data type in Web Dynpro

    I am getting this error in the following scenario.
    I want to save the text fields from an interactive form to SAP through RFC enabled function module. The type in the model and controller is byte[]. I have converted the string attribute from view to save to the model. But the model dictionary in Web Dynpro project (model) has this type as Binary (meta data model through EFC). The type in SAP is RAW. I am going nuts since a week to solve this.
    IS this a bug? I am using NW04s - SP12. and NWDS 7.0.9
    Exception Details:
    The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException

    at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientimpl.xdp.renderer.data.XfdRenderer.renderAttributes(XfdRenderer.java:370)
    ... 41 more

    Issue with the RAW data types is resolved now. I have changed the data type of the field into String in the dictionary (web dynpro).. I have changed the corresponding getters and setter functions from byte[] to string. And everything working fine now. I got the Illegal Argument exception initially because I was trying to display the binary data type fields on the adobe form or view which I am not supposed to do.
    Also it is better to create separate view attributes in the context to get the values rather than mapping the model attributes directly in the form or view.
    Thank you one and all.

  • Does new 1402 Activity object in Cloud for Customer have wrong data type namespaces?

    I see that the individual "activity" objects (e.g., ActivityTask, AppointmentActivity, etc) are being deprecated as of 1405 and moving to a new Activity object with a TypeCode. That makes a lot of sense.
    In reviewing this new Activity object, I've noticed that many of the node elements utilize Data Types in the http://sap.com/xi/Common/DataTypes namespace instead of the http://sap.com/xi/AP/Common/GDT. For example, the root node element UUID has a data type UUID in the http://sap.com/xi/Common/DataTypes namespace, unlike all the other objects in the Public Solution Model.
    There are many more elements in this new Activity object that are mismatched like this to other common usage in other objects. Is this a new trend or a mistake?

    Hello Gregory, Alessandro,
    just for clarification:
    SAP wanted to eliminate the superflous supplementary components from the data types used in the Business Objects.
    Take the GDT Identifier as an example. It has the following supplementary components:
    SCHEME_ID
    SCHEME_VERSION_ID
    SCHEME_AGENCY_ID
    SCHEME_AGENCY_SCHEME_ID
    SCHEME_AGENCY_SCHEME_AGENCY_ID
    CONTENT
    You very seldom need the SCHEME_ID or the SCHEME_AGENCY_ID (if the ID is a GTIN or DUNS number then you need them). I never came over a situation to use the SCHEME_AGENCY_SCHEME_AGENCY_ID.
    So the data types from the "new" namespace omit those components. But SAP noticed the effort to adapt all the coding.
    Therefore it was decided that only new objects will use the data types from the new namepace.
    In the case of the ActivityTask, AppointmentActivity, etc. this wil requires - as Alessandro mentioned - some adoption effort.

  • Local Currency - Translation Date Type

    Hi:
    We are on ECC 6.0 with New GL.
    I wanted to check if we can change the Translation Date Type for 1st local currency (10) from Translation date to document date? There are three options in this field - Posting date, document date and translation date. But when we maintain it (under additional local currencies for a company code), local currency has this grey out and comes default to translation date. Not sure where it is defined that local currency can be translated only based on translation date.
    However for 2nd and 3rd currencies this field is open and allow to choose any date type.
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Rahul

    Hello Rahul,
    For the local currency, it is hard-coded in the system to
    choose the translation date as the transalation date (type 3). If you
    change this translation date when you enter a document, the system will
    use this new date. However, if you don't change this, the system will
    always use the posting date as translation date for the local currency.
    hope thic clarifies

  • Need to know data type which could take the result of - data TYPE RAW.

    Hello,
    I have the following Req:
    I need to make a RFC call from one SAP system to SAP Banking Services system to retrieve Contract ID.
    But the field contract id happens to be of TYPE RAW. (16 characters)
    So my problem is - I need to know the data type could take the result (contract id) of that RFC call.
    As the declration -> data: v_con_id Type RAW --> isn't a valid syntax.
    Please help in this regard.
    Thanks
    Anoop

    Hi
    Check this link for RAW data type
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/9d/ab1b0f055b11d2806500c04fadbaa1/content.htm
    As you have mentioned about the declration ->
    data: v_con_id Type RAW --> isn't a valid syntax.
    lets try another one assign a variable to RAW data TYPE and inturn assign v_con_id to that variable.
    var_raw(16)  type RAW,
    v_con_id type var_raw(16).
    I am though not sure just try out
    Revert for clarification

  • Report - Want to know the maximum length of a character Data Type.

    Hello,
           I have to print some details which is having more than 500 characters. Is it possible to create a variable or workarea with more than 256 characters? Please help me. Its very urgent.
    My actual requirement is to pass this workarea to smartform and print. So the data should be in one work area.
    Regards,
    LIJO

    Hi,
    U can declare the variable of required length for eg.1000 characters like this
    DATA: w_data(1000) TYPE c.
    If u r not sure of how much length u will be getting then better declare the variable with data type string .
    DATA: w_data TYPE string.
    Hope this clarified ur doubt.
    thanks,
    Vinod.

    ICQ : 40751557
    MSN : [email protected]
    Finally, sorry for my poor English...

    The reason for the error is you are applying a TO_CHAR function to a character datatype. SIDATE is a character. That field should be a date field. If for some reason, you need it to stay as a character field then you will need to change it to a date then change it back to a character.
    TO_CHAR(TO_DATE(SIDATE,'put format here'),'YYYYMMDD')

    Any idea how I can use XSD type rather creating datatype for every field ?
    Note : If I change the Classification   - "Freely Modelled Type" , it gives error while activatin that it has to ve aggreagated type.
    Regards,

    Any idea how I can use XSD type rather creating datatype for every field ?
    You mean to say you used xsd:string while creating Aggregated Dataype?
    If yes, then please note that Aggregated DT cannot refer any of the xsd elements......it can either refer an Aggregated DT or a Core DT....even if you make use of the Input help (under the Type column) it wont show you XSD Type option.....di you create an XSD outside and then imported it into the DT?
    For more clarification/ examples refer --> ESR --> SAP BASIS --> SAP BASIS 7.10 --> http://sap.com/xi/BASIS/Global --> Aggregated DT.......none of the example is using xsd element....it is against the definition of this DT.

    Abhishek.
