Database command execution error
Hi all,
I have this kind of problem:
On quite huge repository (above 1M records) I'm getting error when I try to add record to qualified table.
Log files on the server side looks as follow:
<Trace ..... tid="4936" entry-no="5542">OLEDB error on SERVER/REP_NAME from statement: INSERT INTO A2i_1_85 (Id, SubId, LinkId, F69, F71) VALUES (1348317, 1, 1348625, 1, 1)<LINE-FEED/></Trace>
<Trace ..... tid="4936" entry-no="5543"> ErrorRecord->HResult/NativeErr: 0x80040e2f/0<LINE-FEED/> Description: The statement has been terminated.<LINE-FEED/> Source/File/Line: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server/.\OLEDB_DBConnection.cpp/1744<LINE-FEED/></Trace>
<Trace ..... tid="4936" entry-no="5544">ErrorRecord->HResult/NativeErr: 0x80040e2f/0<LINE-FEED/> Description: Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'A2i_1_85' with unique index 'I1_85_LId'.<LINE-FEED/> Source/File/Line: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server/.\OLEDB_DBConnection.cpp/1744<LINE-FEED/></Trace>
Its second time, last time when this problem occurred whole repository goes to trash, because each Load process ends with error.
Hint: Check repository function ends with message saying that repository is OK.
My questions is:
- does anybody gets this kind of error ?
- are there any limitation on number of records that can be stored in MDM (except amount of available memory) ?
- how to fix it and get back repository live ?
Thanks in advance,
marcin
Hi Alon, thx for reply.
As You suggested I load repository with update indices option the repository and its back.
But unfortunately after adding few more records (using Data Manager) it fails again (same effect).
I still think that there is some issue with qualified lookup tables and transactional between MDM Server and underling database. When add record operation fails the data entered into qualified table is still in the database table (that's why another try to add record fails with duplicated index).

Database command execution error. (While mounting a repository)
Hello,
I am trying to mount 'Customer Master' repository in Console
But it is giving me the following error.
'Database command execution error. A SQL statement failed to execute. The actual error may have been written to a log file.'
Can any1 throw some light as to how do i solve this problem.
And where to check this log file?
Also i am able to mount any other repository without this error.
Regards,
RoshaniHi Roshni,
It could be that the repository tables were not correctly created in the Oracle Database.
Try restarting the oracle services ,also check the Oracle listener configurations are correct.
If you have an archieve of this repository then try mounting the archieve with a different name.
Also try restarting the MDM server.
Hope It Helped

MDM Database command execution error. A SQL statement failed to execute
Hi,
When we tried to execute an MDM Java query modify/create, we get the following dump.
Is this anything to do with the parameters that we pass or is it something to do with the database ?
We have checked the code and we do not find anything wrong with the code at all.
We are using Java API 5.5.63.73 and calling MDM API's using WebDynpro for Java.
I have noticed this issue has been raised here as well :
Database command execution error. (While mounting a repository)

Edited by: Subramanian Venkateswaran on Dec 10, 2008 8:11 PMHi Subramanian ,
The error looks more like a problem with the data base or MDM system rather than the java code.
Which is the underlying database you are using with MDM? As some users have faced some difficulties when working with the DB2 Data base,If this is the data base you too are working upon then may be the issue could be similar,if possible try using the Oracle or SQL data base as these databse show more compatibility than a DB2 when working with MDM .
Also check the MDM users autorization and authentication to modifyor create recordrs in MDM.try given the user the ADMIN rights,and tehn try and see if teh user is able to modify/Create the mdm records.
Lastly you can check the database instance and listener configuration correctly.try restarting the Database service form the system if possible.
Hope It Helped

An unexpected error during Command execution
Hi,
I am using Project Server 2007 SP 2 at the moment. One of our user keeps encountering this error "An unexpected error during Command execution" for a project file. We tried to restore the earlier version of the plan using Administrative restore.
But it only works as a temporary fix as the problem keeps reapprearing. Kindly help.Only SP2 for Project 2007? Probably not worth trying to debug, with 2007 it is almost essential to have SP3 and the very last cumulative update for Project pro and Server. 2007 was a very buggy version (they were forced to release at same time as Office
2007 and it was too soon).

3.1EA1: Teradata 'database' command throws 'unknown command' error
I'm able to connect to TD using SQL Developer 3.1. I then try and switch databases using TD's 'database' command and receive the below error. If it helps, I use this command frequently in both bteq and winSQL. Having said that, I'm very excited to see Teradata support come to SQLDeveloper!
command_
database dw_vw_dev;
output_
Error starting at line 1 in command:
database dw_vw_dev
Error report:
Unknown CommandHi <Please supply your name>,
At the moment SQL Developers Worksheet recognizes Oracle SQL and scripts.
But we have not extended it to recognize the non Oracle languages.
The Worksheet needs to recognize the statements so it can break a script into separate statements (identify the start and end of a statement)
And to figure out if its normal statement or one which returns a value or result set.
As most databases SQL is reasonable similar , things like SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, .. are recognized fine for non Oracle databases.
But something like the Teradata DATABASE command is not recognized (yet).
For statements we don't recognize we currently do not run them against the database.
Ill investigate this some more to see if we can make it a bit more hands off.
In the mean time we do have a workaround which requires adding a hint to tell the worksheet what type of statement it is.

Hope this helps,

ORA-16664: unable to receive the result from a database

ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor
Cause: The listener received a request to establish a connection to a database or other service. The connect descriptor received by the listener specified a service name for a service (usually a database service) that either has not yet dynamically registered with the listener or has not been statically configured for the listener. This may be a temporary condition such as after the listener has started, but before the database instance has registered with the listener.
Action: - Wait a moment and try to connect a second time.
- Check which services are currently known by the listener by executing: lsnrctl services <listener name>
- Check that the SERVICE_NAME parameter in the connect descriptor of the net service name used specifies a service known by the listener.
- If an easy connect naming connect identifier was used, check that the service name specified is a service known by the listener.
- Check for an event in the listener.log file.

Problem in using oraext:query-database() command in xslt
Hi,
I am querying a function through the query-database() command in a certain xslt within a BPEL Process as below:
<xsl:variable name="Corporation">
<xsl:value-of select="string('CORPORATION')"/>
</xsl:variable>
<xsl:variable name="CustAccIdFrmDB">
<xsl:value-of select='orext:query-database(concat("select xx_egytrans_integration.get_xid(",$getCustAccID,",",$Corporation,") from dual"),false(),false(),string("jdbc/otmdatasource"))'/>
</xsl:variable>
But, after deploying the BPEL Process and while running it, I am getting error at run-time.
Below is the error,

Could you please let me know the probable reason for the error? Please help at the earliest.
Thanks,
PromitHi Anshul,
Thanks for replying.
The query upon executing in SQL Plus returns proper value. The result is either a concatenated string or 'NO_DATA'.
Please note that: $getCustAccID --> x-path expression and $Corporation --> hardcoded value - 'CORPORATION'.
I have tried formatting the string of the query in various ways, but no luck.. In all cases the error is same.
Waiting for your reply.
Thanks in advance..

Duplicate database command fails with RMAN-06023
Hello,
I am trying to test out the duplicate database command in RMAN and am running into some issues.
I did a backup of my test database, copied the backup files to a second server, and now I'm trying to run the duplicate command and I get RMAN-06023 errors for all of my datafiles.
I did crosschecks on my backupsets and they showed as available. They are in the same location on the new server, with the same permissions. There are no recent archived logs, as this is a very quiet environment.
My commands and output (edited slightly) were as follows:

Thanks for any help,Hi,
Where is you RMAN catalog? I think you forgot to connect to it.
To duplicate a database check that folowing applies:
1-the auxiliary instance is mounted
2-the listener for the auxiliary db is up
3-the backup pieces that RMAN is going to restore ARE AVAILABLE on the
secondary/auxilary server with SAME NAME the have on the primary server (you can use NFS to avoid the copy of the pieces from primary to auxuliary box)
Remember to be conected to both: target and auxiliary db.
I have extracted the folowing lines from an RMAN script I used to create an standby database with the DUPLICATE command (the RMAN catalog was in the primary db controlfile, and the command was run on the primary server:
$ rman target / nocatalog auxiliary sys/pwd@standbycard log=crCARD.log
RMAN> duplicate target database for standby nofilenamecheck dorecover;
I hope this helps

Database not found/Error: ORA-16621: database name for ADD DATABASE must be
I am new to Data Guard and am trying to set up Data Guard Broker. I had created a configuration file with both my primary and standby databases and at one time I could show both databases. But now I can no longer show the standby database nor can I enable, disable or reinstate it. Here is what I have:

How can I get Data Guard to see the standby database correctly again?Thank you for the constructive feedback. I have been able to make progress on this issue.
I did check the Data Guard Log files as you suggested. I did not find anything when I checked them before but this time I found the following:

I also checked the listener log file and did see and error associated with a known bug:
WARNING: Subscription for node down event still pending
So I added the following to the listener.ora file and bounced the listener:

That seems to have taken care of the error.
The following is my listener.ora file:

I tried again to see the database in Data Guard Broker:
DGMGRL> show database 10gSB
Object "10gsb" was not found
however, I then was able to add the database in Data Guard Broker:
DGMGRL> add database 10gSB
as connect identifier is 10gSB
maintained as physical;Database "10gsb" added <== this is progress!!!
However the configuration shows the following:
DGMGRL> show database 10gSB
Database
Name: 10gsb
Role: PHYSICAL STANDBY
Enabled: NO
Intended State: OFFLINE
Instance(s):
10gSB
Current status for "10gsb":
DISABLED <=====
So I tried to enable the database:
DGMGRL> enable database 10gSB
Error: ORA-16626: failed to enable specified object
Failed.
and I tried to reinstate the database:
DGMGRL> reinstate database 10gSB
Reinstating database "10gsb", please wait...
Error: ORA-16653: failed to reinstate database
Failed.
Reinstatement of database "10gsb" failed
So I checked the configuration and now see two entries for the standby database but with case differences:
DGMGRL> show configuration
Configuration
Name: orcl10g
Enabled: YES
Protection Mode: MaxPerformance
Fast-Start Failover: DISABLED
Databases:
orcl10g - Primary database
10gSB - Physical standby database
10gsb - Physical standby database (disabled)
Current status for "orcl10g":
SUCCESS
Question: How do I get rid of 10gSB and enable 10gsb? -

"Alter Database" command in Database Standby
Hi community.
I have the following situation:
I've ASE 15.7 CE SP121 in two enviroments: System Production and System Standby. The Standby is maintained with load of dump transaction generated in production every 10 minutes.
Now I need increase a database in data portion in 100GB. I know that I must make this in each enviroment (Production and Standby), also I know that I can execute alter database command while the database in the System Standby is offline.
The process that I make is:
Stop dump transaction in production.
Stop Load transaction in Standby.
Alter database "on" in Production. Result is Sucessfull.
Alter database "on" in Standby. Result is error:
In this step, I receipt the following error:
The database DBUSER is in the middle of a load sequence. Altering it will not let you load other transaction dumps in the dump-set. If you still prefer to do it please use OVERRIDE option.
In this situation I have that put online database and increase the size. Obiously, I can't load more dump transaction and I should generate a full dump database in production, load this dump in standby and load dump transations after to load of dump database (full).
I simulate my situation in a enviorement of test with pubs3 and then of load the last dump transaction, I can do alter database in my DB standby without problems and after of this process I continue load dump transaction.
I don't understand why receipt this error?
Any recomendation?
Thanks!
Cristian Lopez.I can't recall trying to extend an offline database so what I'd probably do (short of waiting for a definitive answer from someone @ SAP/Sybase ... either here in the forum or from tech support) ...
1 - Assuming you have to perform a full database dump/load after issuing 'alter database', decide on a good time to perform the full database dump/load and then ...
2 - follow your steps (above) and then try restarting the log dump/load and ...
3a - if the log dump/load succeeds ... you've got nothing else to do
3b - if the log dump/load fails, then proceed with the full database dump/load
