In fact, if you use the table to reflect a database table you can add the row inplace using the existing cursor. I believe it's TableExample2 in the jdk\demo\jfc\TableExamples that has a very good example of this.

  • Need to use vector to insert data into JTable?

    i'm trying to insert data from mssql 2000 into JTable. The number of columns are fixed, but the number of rows are not, since it will depend on how many data retrieved from the database.
    The documentation says that vector class implements a growable array of objects, and I've seen some examples using vector such as from http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=57&threadID=238597 .
    I would like to know, in my case, do i need to set my column and row to use vector? or should i only set rows to use vector ? (since the row size will vary, while the column size will stick to 6).

    Because your JTable operation will be done on a table model, the selection of the initial data
    structure for the model is almost non-issue. In other words, whatever will do.
    See the javadoc for the DefaultTableModel class, which you will eventually use, especially the
    construcotr part.

    This data is large , so for displaying its time , so in meanwhile i want to use a ProgressBar for this .

    You could put up an indeterminate progress bar with a "please wait" label, all inside a TitleWindow pop-up set to modal. When your data are returned, remove the pop-up. You wouldn't use a determinate progress bar because web services don't dispatch the events used to update the progress bar.

  • Not able to get the database data into the Tree Control

                        I have to populate the tree control with nodes and items, which is to be populated from the database, and the tree control is <b>dynamic</b>. I mean, there is a <b>toolbar</b>, whenever a <b>pushbutton is clicked</b>, depending on that the tree contents has to be changed.
    If anybody had worked with <b>CL_GUI_COLUMN_TREE</b> control to get the data from database, depending upon the <b>pushbutton selected in Toolbar</b>, please paste the seudocode for it.

    My guess is you will have to read the data in from the file, parse it, populate some vectors or something and use those vectors to instantiate the JTable. You could use FileReader to read in the data:
    FileReader in = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(file));then use StringTokenizer to parse it.

    Hi, I am stuck with my project. I know that my logic is wrong, but I couldn't figure out the solution. Please help me.
    I hava a database, one of the table is the booking information.
    I need to generate a report which shows the number of booking for each companies for each month.
    I have three data in my database, two different companies(XX and YY), with three different months(Jan, Feb, Jul).
    The problem that I encountered is that the data shown is inaccurate. It showed 6 rows of data, and the number of booking is incorrect.

    Off hand, it appears perhaps under certain circumstances you need to insert a new record, whereas under other circumstances you need to update (that is to say modify) the record by retrieving it, changing it, then updating it. If you pepper your code with System.out.println() statements, you can see where your problems occur in the code.
    I say you may have inserted a record instead of updated due to your statement here. Looks like XX should have been one record rather than two.

  • Need little help with JPA code and displaying database data into tables

    I am using java6 and Netbeans 6.1 on Windows XP platform.
    This is probably very simple but have'nt been able to figure it out yet. I am using the Travel Java Databse included in NB6 as a learning tool.
    I have a JComboBox connected to Person Table and want to display a Trip table from using the selected item from theJcombobox. In other words, Trip table shows only the Person selected from the Jcombobox.
    If someone could point me on the right direction how to code JPA code or how to use NB6 GUI to accomplish this.

    The w and wi are just table aliases that make it easier to
    referrence those tables by column when joining multiple tables
    (avoids having to prefix column names with the entire table name,
    etc.) When doing a self-join (joining a table to itself), the use
    of table aliases is
    required, otherwise you would have no other way to tell
    which column belonged to which "instance" of table.
    The query itself is pretty simple. It is just using a
    correlated subquery to select only those instances of
    workstationApps where the count of appID instances in
    workstationAppIndex is less than the amount specified in the
    maxConcurrentInstalls for the same appID.
    Also, I do see what you are doing with #form.searchType#, I
    was just making sure that it was what you really intended to do.

    Instead of doing JDBC i am using text file as database. I cant get data from text file to print into JTable when i click find button. Goal is to find a record and print that record only, but for now i am trying to print all the records.     Hello! i'm trying to develop a small text based game in Visual Basic 2013 and I've recently decided i need to use a more sophisticated data storage system then dozens of .txt files and stream-readers. i'm using Microsoft access and i completed my database
    last night. it stores the stat and skill values of the player-character and the non-player characters. the problem is i cannot bring the data into visual basic in a usable way. using ado.net i can bring a single record into the system as a detail view and
    then read the data in from the labels but i'd far prefer to have it done purely through code. the book i purchased only covers data grid views and detail view and I've spent several hours searching for a solution online. 
    for clarification. i need to read each value in a record into a variable so i can calculate the stats for the games combat system.

    start the php script directly, it works, so I think it's not a php
