DataBase relation tables loses in suscribers in Merge Replication

Hi all
I noticed that after cheking the database relation in the suscribers after installing the merge replication.
the relations in tables that I have in my Publisher database do not appear in the suscribers database.
Is this normal ? Do I have to define again the tables relations in the suscribers ?
Thanks in advance
James

Hi James,
Please check your article properties and verify you have Copy foreign key constraints set to

  • XML file validation with XSD and loading to database relational table

    Hi all,
    I have some xml files coming to my unix directory. I will be having an XSD for those. My task is to validate those xml against given xsd and load the corresponding data into oracle relational tables with sqlloader only.
    Please help me to accomplish. and let me know the contents of control file ( for SQLLOADER) if i want to load the xml directly to database.
    Unix and/or PLSQL suggestions both are welcome.

    My problem area is loading the XML to Oracle relational tables using sqlloader.
    suppose, the xml is <?xml version="1.0"?>

  • Merge Replication: subscriber database error

    Hello
    We have a principal application database running on SQL Server 2005, which has 300 GB information.
    This database is synchronized with multiple subscribers using merge replication agent, allowing changes at both the publisher and subscribers.
    Client applications connect to the subscribers and not the publisher, so the information is loaded in the subscribers.
    Last week, one of the subscribers had storage level error (broken discs) that caused corruption in the file system of the server.
    Then, the merge replication with this server began to fail due to bad sectors of the file system. But the database remained online, and the application continued to function normally, so new information was loaded in database.
    Because disk errors, it was not possible backed up the affected database or copy databases files to save the information. Subscribers regular backups were NOT performed.
    After resolving disk errors and repaired the file system, database was restored,
    but had consistency errors which were repaired by the DBCC CHECKDB command with
    repair_allow_data_loss option.
    Comparing the number of records before and after repair, we estimates that some records were lost in the database.
    Replication has not been restored yet.
    Now we have the following questions:
    - What happens with lost data in the subscriber database if the merge synchronization is reactivated? We estimate that the lost data will be replicated to the Publisher, and want to avoid that.
    - Is there any way to sync (download) data from the Publisher to the Subscriber to load the missing records again? Avoiding of course the upload from the subscriber to the publisher.
    - If the above point is possible, may you then make the upload to the publisher to sync the information loaded into the database subscriber?
    - If these actions are not possible, have we another ways to sync the information, to avoid losing data in the subscriber?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    You can configure the Synchronization direction in Article Property. Right-click the Publication, click Properties. In the Articles page, set the properties of the articles. See the image:

  • How to drop the tables (articles) in subscription database MERGE replication.

    We have configured the merge replication from publication server to subscription server,
    Here I mistakenly selecting few tables (articles) in publication,
    Now I need to remove those mistakenly selected tables in subscription server database .
    Note: I am trying to below way but unable to remove those tables in subscription server.
    1st I unselected those tables (articles) in publication, but not working.
    Could please tell me the how to remove those tables in subscription database.

    Ok that is normal, dont worry, if you mistakenly  chosen few tables, just add the new tables
    that you forgot it, just make click on the publication, you only have to Re-run the snapshot agent, i mean you must generate another snapshot and then synchronice with your suscriber, and then you will not need DROP the tables on the suscriber, if you have
    troubles yet, please post imagens to help you more !
    Thanks and regards.

  • How to define join in physical layer between cube and relational table

    Hi
    I have a aggregated data in essbase cube. I want to supplement the information in the cube with data from relational source.
    I read article http://community.altiusconsulting.com/blogs/altiustechblog/archive/2008/10/24/are-essbase-and-oracle-bi-enterprise-edition-obiee-a-match-made-in-heaven.aspx which describes how to do it.
    From this article I gather that I have to define a complex join between the cube imported from essbase to my relational table in physical layer.
    But when I use Join Manager I am only able to define jooin between tables from relation source but not with the imported cube.
    In My case I am trying to join risk dimension in the cube based on risk_type_code (Gen3 member) with risk_type_code in relation table dt_risk_type.
    How can I create this join?
    Regards
    Dhwaj

    Hi
    This has worked the BI server has joined the member from the oracle database to cube. So Now for risk type id defined in the cube I can view the risk type code and risk type name from the relational db.
    But now if I want to find aggregated risk amount against a risk type id it brings back nothing. If I remove the join in the logical model then I get correct values. Is there a way by which I can combine phsical cube with relational model and still get the aggregated values in the cube?
    I have changed the column risk amount to be sum in place of aggr_external both in logical and phsical model.
    Regards,
    Dhwaj

  • How to get the List of Database Objects (Table/View) for a given APEX Page.

    Hi,
    I have an application and that consist of pages like page1,2,3,.....
    *1.* I want a report which can give me the list of all the Pages1,2,3,....
    I am using the following query to acheive this.... THIS IS FINE..
    select a.workspace, a.owner, a.application_name, b.page_id, b.page_name
      from apex_applications a,
           apex_application_pages b
    where a.workspace = b.workspace
       and a.application_id = b.application_id*2. Now, I want for each individual page*, the list all the database objects (tables/views), which that page is using.
    I am using ALL_DEPENDENCIES , but I am not getting the result.
    So, want to know if there any view/table, where I can get the Application Pages & there database object list...
    Thanks,
    Deepak

    Hari,
    Thanks for the response.
    The view APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_DB_ITEMS will only give me the table name related to any Page Items defined to that page..It will not give me all the database objects..
    suppose we have a Page, having a report based on multiple tables and there is no Page items defined on that page, we will not have any value in this ....DB_ITEMS table. same thing if we have define some PL|SQL(using some table/view) in a Process, that will not be populated in .....DB_ITEMS table. I want some thing like all the database objects (table/views/function/procedure/.....) for a particular Page ID.
    Thanks,
    Deepak

  • How to trigger a 'delete' across different related tables in ABAP?

    Hello All,
    I am creating database tables for storing different values of features coming under different countries. I have eight tables in my design and there are fields repeating in different tables, which i am connecting through foreign key relationship.
    After entering values to all my tables, if i need to delete a particular field value which is repeating in more than two tables, is it possible to trigger a delete event by which if am deleting the field value in a particular table, all the related field values also get deleted from the respective tables?
    For example, if i have a PRODUCT field in three tables, and if one of the PRODUCT is deleted from a particular table, can i trigger a delete event by which i can delete all the values related to that particular PRODUCT from all the related tables? The PRODUCT is a primary keyfield, and i have maintained proper foreign key relations also.
    I have tried deleting entries using the views and using the database table itself, but only that particular table value is being deleted.
    Is there any function module for triggering a delete?
    Can anyone help me with some solution?Sample code will be helpful.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Shino

    Hi,
    My friend it is not advisable to delete any field from a database  table bcoz it's creats incosistance data for all the other related tables, but there r few Function Modules that provide u this functionality.
    Such As:
    G_REPORT_DELETE_ADDFLD_ENTRY
    G_CATT_DELETE_TABLE_ENTRY
    RKE_DELETE_FIELDS_FROM_TABLE

    Thank you in advance

    How do I print out the results correctly in my case of situation?
    There are several things wrong with your code and methodology
    1. The code you posted won't even compile because there are several syntax issues.
    2. You are trying to use/test Java in the database BEFORE you get the code working outside the DB
    3. Your code is not using collections in JDBC properly
    I suggest that you use a different, proven approach to developing Java code for use in the DB
    1. Use SIMPLE examples and then build on them. In this case that means don't add collections to the example until ALL other aspects of the app work properly.
    2. Create and test the Java code OUTSIDE of the database. It is MUCH easier to work outside the database and there are many more tools to help you (e.g. NetBeans, debuggers, DBMS_OUTPUT windows, etc). Trying to debug Java code after you have already loaded it into the DB is too difficult. I'm not aware of anyone, even at the expert level, that develops that way.
    3. When using complex functionality like collections first read the Oracle documentation (JDBC Developer Guide and Java Developer's Guide). Those docs have examples that are known to work.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/java.111/b31225/chfive.htm
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/java.112/e16548/oraarr.htm#sthref583
    The main issue with your example is #3 above; you are not using collections properly:
    String value = rset.getString(i);
    A collection is NOT a string so why would you expect that to work for a nested table?
    A collection needs to be treated like a collection. You can even treat the collection as a separate result set. Create your code outside the database and use the debugger in NetBeans (or other) on this replacement code for your 'printResults' method:
    static void printResults (ResultSet rset) throws SQLException {
        try {
           ResultSetMetaData meta = rset.getMetaData();
           while (rset.next()) {
               ResultSet rs = rset.getArray(2).getResultSet();
               rs.next();
               String ndx = rs.getString(1);
               Struct struct = (Struct) rs.getObject(2);
               System.out.println(struct.getSQLTypeName());
               Object [] oa = struct.getAttributes();
               for (int j = 0; j < oa.length; j++) {
                  System.out.println(oa[j]);
        } catch  (SQLException e) {
           System.err.println(e.getMessage());
    That code ONLY deals with column 2 which is the nested table. It gets that collection as a new resultset ('rs'). Then it gets the contents of that nested table as an array of objects and prints out the attributes of those objects so you can see them.
    Step through the above code in a debugger so you can SEE what is happening. NetBeans also lets you enter expressions such as 'rs' in an evaluation window so you can dynamically try the different methods to see what they do for you.
    Until you get you code working outside the database don't even bother trying to load it into the DB and create a Java stored procedure.
    Since your current issue has nothing to do with this forum I suggest that you mark this thread ANSWERED and repost it in the JDBC forum if you need further help with this issue.
    https://forums.oracle.com/community/developer/english/java/database_connectivity
    When you repost you can include a link to this current thread if you want. Once your Java code is actually working then try the Java Stored procedure examples in the Java Developer's Guide doc linked above.
    At the point you have any issues that relate to Java stored procedures then you should post them in the SQL and PL/SQL forum
    https://forums.oracle.com/community/developer/english/oracle_database/sql_and_pl_sql

    Hi
    I jdeveloper how do i go about mapping a XSD file to a relational table ?
    I know some tools like xml spy ca do these can jdeveloper do this ?
    regards

    When using the DATAEXPORT command to export data for direct insertion into a relational database:
    ● The table to which the data is to be written must exist prior to data export
    ● Table and column names cannot contain spaces
    Check with the below syntax.
    SET DATAEXPORTOPTIONS
    DATAEXPORTDECIMAL 1;
    DataExportLevel "LEVEL0";
    DATAEXPORTCOLHEADER "Periods";
    FIX("FY2011","Budget","Version1",FixedAssets,"Amount","622185","3011","BU_None" ,@LEVMBRS(Periods,0) AND @DESCENDANTS(Annual,0),@LEVMBRS(Currencies,0));

  • Why database related code not wriiten in jsp's

    hi all
    what all resons are there for which database related code
    is not written in jsp's
    one thing that i know is
    it's not a j2ee architecture to do so
    so is it the thing that doing so hits the performance issue
    thanx

    Me, I'm still trying to get my head around Java 1.5, J2EE, Tomcat, JBoss, and Oracle RAC (both programming and DBAing)... My head hurts... Badly...
    Back to the topic, though... I also agree with the previous posters...
    I agree there are exceptions to the "no JDBC in JSP rule of thumb"- I have a JSP-based generic table browser as a tool for emergency maintenance from a (presumably) hostile network, it provides read-only access and automatic password rotation. The flexibility of having it in the JSP has saved my bacon in a crisis; when travelling, I had to talk a non-programmer through applying a code fix (damn developers, using reserved words as column name...)( I had the source on my laptop...). To get a class file fixed, I would have had to get a programmer on the phone, and get the server to reload the class which in our environment at the time required an application restart... The project I work on is about 70 man-years of work, mostly Java, and we have maybe 6 or 8 JSPs that access the DB directly...
    Most of the time though, good design says that you access a particular "type" of data (table or group of tables) in the same "chunk" of code, jsp or class file. It's a lot harder to share a jsp among different invokers than it is a class file. It's also better to isolate presentation from data access.
    Imagine that you have a "USER" table, with first name, last name, username, and password. You program a "login" jsp, a user "edit" jsp and an administrator "edit" jsp. Then a security audit declares that saving an unexcrypted password in the database is insecure; you now have to change evey place that can access the password. If the user object was accessed through a single Java class file, then there would be only one place to fix. Of course, it's possible to use jsp includes to simulate class files, but that's just about as much work as creating the class file to begin with, with more problems.
    Another big advantage of keeping your data access out of JSPs is that you can write unit tests much more easily for the Java classes, using something like JUnit. You can have a set of tests for all your persisted data, which can be run anytime your data model changes. This makes it a lot harder for "side effect" bugs to creep into your code.

  • Approach to parse large number of XML files into the relational table.

    We are exploring the option of XML DB for processing a large number of files coming same day.
    The objective is to parse the XML file and store in multiple relational tables. Once in relational table we do not care about the XML file.
    The file can not be stored on the file server and need to be stored in a table before parsing due to security issues. A third party system will send the file and will store it in the XML DB.
    File size can be between 1MB to 50MB and high performance is very much expected other wise the solution will be tossed.
    Although we do not have XSD, the XML file is well structured. We are on 11g Release 2.
    Based on the reading this is what my approach.
    1. CREATE TABLE XML_DATA
    (xml_col XMLTYPE)
    XMLTYPE xml_col STORE AS SECUREFILE BINARY XML;
    2. Third party will store the data in XML_DATA table.
    3. Create XMLINDEX on the unique XML element
    4. Create views on XMLTYPE
    CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW V_XML_DATA(
       Stype,
       Mtype,
       MNAME,
       OIDT
    AS
       SELECT x."Stype",
              x."Mtype",
              x."Mname",
              x."OIDT"
       FROM   data_table t,
              XMLTABLE (
                 '/SectionMain'
                 PASSING t.data
                 COLUMNS Stype VARCHAR2 (30) PATH 'Stype',
                         Mtype VARCHAR2 (3) PATH 'Mtype',
                         MNAME VARCHAR2 (30) PATH 'MNAME',
                         OIDT VARCHAR2 (30) PATH 'OID') x;
    5. Bulk load the parse data in the staging table based on the index column.
    Please comment on the above approach any suggestion that can improve the performance.
    Thanks

    I was not aware of Virtual column but looks like we can use it and avoid creating views by just inserting directly into
    the staging table using virtual column.
    Suppose OID id is the unique identifier of each XML FILE and I created virtual column
    CREATE TABLE po_Virtual OF XMLTYPE
    XMLTYPE STORE AS BINARY XML
    VIRTUAL COLUMNS
    (OID_1 AS (XMLCAST(XMLQUERY('/SectionMain/OID'
    PASSING OBJECT_VALUE RETURNING CONTENT)
    AS VARCHAR2(30))));
    1. My question is how then I will write this query by NOT USING COLMUN XML_COL
    SELECT x."SECTIONTYPE",
    x."MACHINETYPE",
    x."MACHINENAME",
    x."OIDT"
    FROM po_Virtual t,
    XMLTABLE (
    '/SectionMain'
    PASSING t.xml_col                          <--WHAT WILL PASSING HERE SINCE NO XML_COL
    COLUMNS SectionType VARCHAR2 (30) PATH 'SectionType',
    MachineType VARCHAR2 (3) PATH 'MachineType',
    MachineName VARCHAR2 (30) PATH 'MachineName',
    OIDT VARCHAR2 (30) PATH 'OID') x;
    2. Insetead of creating the view then Can I do
    insert into STAGING_table_yyy ( col1 ,col2,col3,col4,
    SELECT x."SECTIONTYPE",
    x."MACHINETYPE",
    x."MACHINENAME",
    x."OIDT"
    FROM xml_data t,
    XMLTABLE (
    '/SectionMain'
    PASSING t.xml_col                         <--WHAT WILL PASSING HERE SINCE NO XML_COL
    COLUMNS SectionType VARCHAR2 (30) PATH 'SectionType',
    MachineType VARCHAR2 (3) PATH 'MachineType',
    MachineName VARCHAR2 (30) PATH 'MachineName',
    OIDT VARCHAR2 (30) PATH 'OID') x
    where oid_1 = '99dd48cf-fd1b-46cf-9983';<--VIRTUAL COLUMN
    insert into STAGING_table_yyy ( col1 ,col2,col3
    SELECT x."SectionOID",
    x."EventName",
    x."OIDT"
    FROM xml_data t,
    XMLTABLE (
    '/SectionMain'
    PASSING t.xml_col                         <--WHAT WILL PASSING HERE SINCE NO XML_COL
    COLUMNS SectionOID PATH 'SectionOID',
    EventName VARCHAR2 (30) PATH 'EventName',
    OID VARCHAR2 (30) PATH 'OID',
    ) x
    where oid_1 = '99dd48cf-fd1b-46cf-9983';<--VIRTUAL COLUMN
    Same insert for other tables usind the OID_1 virtual coulmn
    3. Finaly Once done how can I delete the XML document from XML.
    If I am using virtual column then I beleive it will be easy
    DELETE table po_Virtual where oid_1 = '99dd48cf-fd1b-46cf-9983';
    But in case we can not use the Virtual column how we can delete the data
    Thanks in advance

    Please I want to know the related table for the subject contact or contract or cost ... in the primavera application,
    if someone have any idea let me know
    Thanks

    If you are looking for the database relationships (to assist in building forms/reports or using web services) you should look in the Oracke Knowledgbase.  You should find the joins document here:

  • Databae Question - Specifically Relational Tables

    Hi everyone, can anyone tell me how to do a database that contains relational tables using MS Access 2000. Do I have to create the links between the tables using MS Access or do I do this using Java code.
    If it can be done in both ways which is the best to use and why?
    If it helps I will be creating a database with 4 tables, A,B,C,D and would like the relationships to be as follows:
    A - B
    C - D
    I will also be having a function that allows me to search the entire database for a certain keyword, does this mean that i will need to link all four of the table togethor using a one - to - many relationship e.g.
    A - B, A - C, A - D etc.
    Thanks for all your help

    What are these "links" you are asking about? If you want to join two tables, you can do that in SQL without having to configure the database in any way. If that's what you meant by "link"...
