Database version for APEX 4

Hello,
can I find official informtion on www.oracle.com over the requirements for the APEX 4?
I am looking for the minimum the database version for APEX4.
Is there no statement directly from Oracle? I could only find information about the new features of APEX 4, but no requirements for it.
Greetings
Michael

Hello Dimitri,

  • Database version for Headstart 9i

The requirements for Headstart 9i mention that database version 9.2.0.1 is required. Does this only apply to the version of the repository database or also for the target database in which the application is run? For the time being we want to use our application on a 8.1.7 database.

  • Database Version for 9iAS ???

We are evaluating wich version of the DB use with 9iAS, Standard or Enterprise.
We do mostly need reads of the database, but have at least two applications that need replication with other DB's - that could be a point for Enterprise version.
What are the advantages of use each version ??
    Thanks
    null

In my opinion for 9iAS itself it does not matter whether you use Enterprise or Standard edition of backend database.

  • Database version for Business Intelligence module

    Hi,
We are considering deploying the business intelligence module of Apps 11ir3.
My question is what versions of discoverer (4i, 9i), what versions of database (8.1.7, 9.0.1, 9.2.0), and what version of OWB (??, 9.02, 9.03, 9.04) can be used to implement this?
Our current DWH runs on DB 9.0.1.3, OWB 9.03, Discoverer 9i, we are thinking about migrating to DB 9.2.0, OWB 9.0.4 fro the extra functionality offered by both.
My concern is: can we then integrate Business Intelligence modules in that combo?
    Thanks for any input,
    Wilco Oosterom

You might want to try the development forums, this forum is for the company Business Objects SAP bought last year.

  • Http version for APEX

All some of my reports that i run on the web front end are a bit large and i want to know what version of HTTP APEX is using, as i know 1.1 uses better keep alives for the connection but it seems that the version 2.0 i have timesout.

I might be wrong, but I think the browser controls what version of the HTTP protocol is used. In other words, it is a browser preference, nothing to do with Apex really.

  • Has anybody done a database version for flexstore

I was wondering if somebody has done DB version of
specifically this version of flexstore in flex 2.0
    http://examples.adobe.com/flex2/inproduct/sdk/flexstore/flexstore.html
Specifically the UI gets really crawls if you have even 600
items because it loads the entire XML, and the view loads
everything without some form of paging. Obviously this can be
resolved through some of paging such as reading first 10 etc or
querying and getting appropriate data from DB based on filters etc.
So in that context, I would greatly appreciate if you
somebody can share what they have done.

OK, friends, the project is up and SourceView is enabled.
Just keep in mind that I did this purely for study purposes,
so see the original readme for Flextore and the comments in the
original sample project code files. There are things in there that
    are not necessarily best practices.
In the unlikely event that you want a copy of the database
file, just let me know by email directly and I will be glad to send
it to you; I cannot give you access to that in my shared web
    server.
    Happy Fourth,
    Carlos

  • Changing DB username and Password for APEX

    Hello Guys:
My APEX application is currently connected to the Main database, and now the business decided they want a user to be created with the main database only for APEX.
My main database is called ARRA, and user within the ARRA schema called ARRAAPEX was created given a diffrent username and password.
I see in the Administrative services I can only tell it to which schema to connect to, but where do I specify the username and password for the database user to be used by APEX?
    Thank You For Your Help
    Adel

Thank You for your reply Roel. What I meant to say is Logging to the ARRA schema using the username and password associated with ARRAAPEX would allow me to see the Date last edited field that has been added to the ARRAAPEX. ANd I am not able to see that at this moment becuase I am logging to to ARRA using the ARRA username and password.
When we setup a workspace and then associate a schema with that workspace, where do I specify the username and password that the workspace should use to access the schema? Or if a username and a password are not needed then how does the workspace access the schema?
    Thank You
    Adel

  • OWB 10gR2 and 11gR2 integrate which with oracle database versions

I request a clear definite reply as I need to suggest the client to upgrade their production databases. I did try searching on the oracle sites, but did not get any sure answer.
    Question:
The client has databases on 8i, 9i & 10g. Will OWB 10gR2 support these data sources?
If not, either I will have to ask clients to upgrate 8i & 9i to oracle 10g or have them upgrade the same and also have them upgrade to OWB 11gR2.
So, please confirm support of database versions for both OWB 10gR2 & OWB 11gR2.
    Thanks much!

I already had the 'Release notes' link for both 10g and 11g which you provided.
The issue is when I launch the URL, I am taken to https://support.oracle.com/CSP/ui/flash.html.
Here I've to submit and register Sun Contract Number or Oracle Support Identifier. I don't have these details.
Isn't there a simple way to get the valid information on platform-specific requirements?
I mean this should be given easily on Oracle site.
    Thanks much!

  • Web Server Options for APEX Installation on Oracle Database 10g

Hi. We are installation a APEX on a test server that is running Oracle Database 10g 10.2.0.4.0. As I understand it there are two Web Server Options:
    1) Oracle HTTP Server (Apache)
    2) Oracle Application Express Listener
Do both of these work for Oracle Database 10g 10.2.0.4.0? I thought I remember reading somewhere that only the Oracle Application Express Listener would only work with database version 11 or higher.

Do both of these work for Oracle Database 10g 10.2.0.4.0?Yes.
I thought I remember reading somewhere that only the Oracle Application Express Listener would only work with database version 11 or higher. No, that restriction (with the exception of 10g XE) applies to the third web server option which you haven't mentioned: Embedded PL/SQL Gateway (EPG), as discussed in your previous thread: +{thread:id=2201975}+

  • Can we run 2 versions of Apex on the same Oracle database ?

Can we run both Apex 3.1 & Apex 4.0 versions on the same database ?
Instead of upgrading my 3.1 to Apex 4.0, I wanted to know if I can run 2 versions of Apex on the same database simultaneously

    Hello,
    >> Can we run both Apex 3.1 & Apex 4.0 versions on the same database ?
No you can’t. The APEX 4.0 installation script will automatically detect the 3.1 instance and it will be upgraded.

    Arie.

Team , Thanks for looking into this  ..
As a last resort on  optimizing my stored procedure ( Below ) i wanted to create a Selective XML index  ( Normal XML indexes doesn't seem to be improving performance as needed ) but i keep getting this error within my stored proc . Selective XML

    BUT when I login {color:#0000ff}to Application Express{color} and try the same SELECT from the view - {color:#0000ff}I get error:{color}
ORA-12705: ORA-12705: invalid or unknown NLS parameter value specified
    ORA-02063: preceding line from LINKED8i
What should I do to make Application Express work with the view based on table in remote database correctly - i.e. allow me to Select/Insert/... ?

    Hi,
i don't have a solution for your problem but i want to share with you my research in using Database Links with XE/Apex.
I have done it a in a lot of projects and in most of all cases it shows a strange behavior when using Database Links via Apex. As far as i know SQL-Request in Apex are executed via the DBMS_SQL-Package. And that seems to be source for all errors and strange behaviors you get.
If you post a SQL-Request directly from your XE, everything's fine. If you do the same from APEX, sometimes it is very slow and sometimes it fails.
So, my approach to this issue is to work with Materialized Views. Your can create MV's on your XE to reference your remote tables and even schedule refreshes. In Apex, you only work with these MV's instead of the remote tables. And everything's going to be fine!
    Hope this helps!
    Regards, Jens
