Date format from mm/dd/yyyy to dd-mmm-yyyy
How to convert the date from 01/01/2006 to 01-Jan-2006??
Hi sravanthi,
1. we have to apply some logic for that,
and use the standard FM
'MONTH_NAMES_GET'
2. i have an independent FORM/PERFORM
in which we give input as some date,
and it returns date in format
dd-mon-yyyy.
3. just copy paste in new program and run.
report abc.
DATA : mname(25) TYPE c.
PARAMETER : d TYPE sy-datum default sy-datum.
PERFORM getmonth USING d mname.
WRITE :/ mname.
FORM getmonth USING d mname.
DATA : month_names LIKE t247 OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
DATA : m(2) TYPE c.
m = d+4(2).
CALL FUNCTION 'MONTH_NAMES_GET'
EXPORTING
LANGUAGE = SY-LANGU
IMPORTING
RETURN_CODE =
TABLES
month_names = month_names
EXCEPTIONS
month_names_not_found = 1
OTHERS = 2
READ TABLE month_names INDEX m.
IF sy-subrc = 0.
mname = month_names-ktx.
ENDIF.
concatenate d+6(2) '-' mname '-' d(4) into mname.
ENDFORM. "getmonth

HI,
How can we change data format from MM/DD/YYYY to DD/MM/YYYY in Prompt and Report Level in obiee 11g.
Please help me ont this.
ThanksHi,
In Prompt:
Try using EVALUATE function.
Eg: Evaluate('TO_CHAR(%1,%2)' as character(30),"D5.Times"."Day Date",'DD-MON-YYYY')
Report level:
Try this in the column formula-
Evaluate('TO_CHAR(%1,%2)' as character(30),"D5.Times"."Day Date",'MM/DD/YYYY')
(or)
EVALUATE('TO_CHAR(%1,%2)' AS CHARACTER ( 30 ), "Dim- Date".Start Date, 'MON-YY')

Changing Date format from MM/DD/YYYY to DD/MM/YYYY
Hello all,
We have upgraded our portal system from EP 6.0 to EP 7.0 . Before upgrade the portal date format was in DD/MM/YYYY format but after upgrade it has changed to MM/DD/YYYY.
We changed the request.mandatoryCountry and Request.mandatoryLanguage parameters as GB and EN respectively .
After this change the standard portal iview start showing date in DD/MM/YYYY format but custom web dynpro applications are still displaying date in MM/DD/YYYY format.
Please suggest how can we change the date format for custom dynpro applications too.
Regards,
GaneshGanesh,

Similar discussions are on the following threads

A snippet from the above thread,
1) Language indicator of the user (Example: Language not set in portal)
2) Language preference of the browser (Example: fr - Resource doesn't exists)
3) Language indicator of the Web Dynpro Application
4) Language preference of the system
5) Language preference of the JVM
Hope it helps.

Change date format from DD.MM.YYYY to DD.MM in query
Hi,
In one partical query/web application we would like to change the display format of 0CALDAY from 01.01.2010 to 01.01 (without the year) because the data is in the columns and the analysis grid therefore is too wide. Changing this via SU01 is not an option.
Is there any way to do this in the query?
Thanks.Hi,
If you want to display the calday data as titles of the columns,
1) Create 2 Text Variables (ZEST1 and ZTEST2) in the title and assign them in the following format -->
Quantity &ZTEST1&.&ZTEST2& (having a point in between them)
2) Define ZTEST1 and ZTEST2 of the type 'replacement path' - the calday value can be used from either the infoobject or an input variable as required.
2) In the replacement path section of ZTEST1, give an offset value (if date format is 10.10.2010, 'Offset Start' = 0 and 'Offset length' = 2)
3) In the replacement path section of ZTEST2, give an offset value (if date format is 10.10.2010, 'Offset Start' = 2 and 'Offset length' = 2)
4) This would give the final result in the format 'Quantity 10.10'
If you want to display the calday data in the columns itself, you will have to create one formula variable of the same settings above with Offset start at 0 and Offset length 4 or 5 and use it in a CKF or formula. In this case you will have to assign 2 decimal places to the column, since this is displayed as a number otherwise. the output for the same (for 01.01.2010) will be 1.01 instead of 01.01 -
How canI change the date format from mm/dd/yyyy to dd/mm/yyyy in FirefoxOS?
I have just received and am trying out things my new Alcatel Fire E with FirefoxOS 2.0.0.0 (just updated).
It is usual in most operating systems to be able to customize the date and time settings (amongst other things). After a few fruitless hours fiddling with the phone and checking various forums, I've come to the conclusion that this is currently not possible on my phone with this version of FirefoxOS. Or have I simply missed something?

</blockquote>
Since I don't have the old version anymore, the following might not be 100% accurate. Note that my device is in English.
Go to the Settings app and select "Device information". You can either choose "Check now" or select "System Updates" and then "Check for Updates". If there is an update available you'll be notified. What it won't tell you is which version the new one is, at least I did not recieve that information. I thoughT I was updating to 1.4.x, not 2.0.
You should be given the choice to either update or not. You can ignore the update if you want (like if you don't have the time, or something.
A couple of words of warning:
1. Make a backup of any important data first.
2. It takes quite some time to download all the update data and this might bust your limit depending on what your service provide allows. I avoided this by doing the update whilst connected to a WLAN (also known as WiFi) which has no data restriction. This can be set in "Check for Updates > Settings".
Hope that helps.

Convertinf Date format from YYYY-MM-DD to MMDDYYYY
Hi Experts,
I want to convert date format from yyyy-MM-dd to MMDDYYYY ( i am using this format in the file strucure),
i tryed using date tranfer funcion source as yyyy-MM-dd and target as yyyyMMdd this is working fine.
i tryed using date tranfer funcion source as yyyy-MM-dd and target as MMddyyyy this is giving error.
Please help me out,
Thanks,
DhanushHi,
From the error it looks like the date value is coming as blank in the source. please give the date in the same format as you have provided in datetrans function and test it again. It will work.
It might be possible that there are some other date fields in your source where you are not passing any value and using datefunction. please look carefully at all the source structure and data.
thanks

G.ShilpaHi,
you can use SimpleDateFormat to parse Date objects to formatted Strings
SimpleDateFormat (Java Platform SE 7 )
Note that dependent in your Date type you may deal with Date or SQL Date in ADF BC. SqlDate woild need to be converted to Date first and then parsed into a formatted String. I suggest you Google for SimpleDateFormat examples

How to change the date format from default to mm-dd-yyyy?
Hi,
There is a requirement to show the current date in an error message at the attribute level. That is, if the user input a date in a text field that is earlier than today's date, then an error message must immediately pop up with today's date in the message. To achieve this we are using a token expression in the EO ( Under Validation rules) . The token expression uses adf.currentDate to get today's date.
The problem is that the expression extracts the date in the form of yyyy-mm-dd. What expression should I use to get the current date format in mm/dd/yyyy ? Can I modify the adf.currentDate expression in some way to get the desired format?
Thanks,
AnandYou could write a custom EO method to return today's date in the specific format. Then access it via the Groovy adf.object expression.

Is there any way to get Date format from "Locale" object. I should get date format for local object

I am not looking for Date value. I am looking for current local date format ("mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy or mon/dd/yyyy) whatever local date format. I could not find example which show how to get date format from "Locale" object.
Any help will be appreciated with rewards.
Regards.
Web ChannelHi,
You can get it from "User" or "Shop" business object.
Try to get User or Shop Business Object as shown below.
BusinessObjectManager bom = (BusinessObjectManager) userSessionData.getBOM(BusinessObjectManager.ISACORE_BOM);
User user = bom.getUser();
char decimalNotation = user.getDecimalPointFormat().getGroupingSeparator();
If you are seeing "1,234.00" then above code will return "."
I hope this information help you to resolve your issue.

How do I get the date format of MM/DD/YYYY to be recognized in Numbers?
I recently switched from Windows and Excel. All the bank details that I export from my bank have dates formatted as mm/dd/yyyy. Excel has no issues dealing with this but Numbers will not recognize the cell contents as a date. Any help?
I have similar problems with data copied & pasted from a banking web page into Numbers. I always first check to see that the cells are formatted as date & time, but that doesn't always fix the problem. The problem usually ends up being spaces before and/or after the numbers in a cell.
