Date format in meeting request responses appears to be hardcoded to US format

Hi
When a room mailbox declines a meeting request that exceeds the booking window in days a response like this is returned.
The end date of this series of repeating meetings is too far in the future. This resource can only be scheduled up to 180 days in advance. The end date
must be before 2/7/2011.
The date returned appears to be hardcoded in US format (M/d/yyyy). I need this to be NZ date format (d/MM/yyyy). How can I accomplish this?
Thanks
Olli

FWIW, we are also having the same problem despite the room being set to the correct regional settings.  Our environment is Exchange 2010 SP2

I guess, given the lack of response from MS, that it is in fact hard coded and cannot be changed. C'mon MS, can you atleast confirm this is the case?
Thanks guys

  • ICloud sends out hundreds of old meeting request responses

After I signed up to iCloud, it proceeded to send out hundreds of very old meeting request responses. Some 18 months old.
How do I stop this and find out why it is happening?

The same thing happened to me. It has the potential to be embarassing as it sends emails to clients forold meetings.  The emails are also being sent from my apple account emailrather than my work email. Very annoying.
I have no idea why this is occurringand can only think that it must be a glitch with iCloud?
The other strange thing is that I had already disabled calendar syncing on the day I began using IOS 5, after the initial sync.

  • Symbian S^3/Anna Calendar Meeting Request (Invitee...

First... I want to explain how this came about. I've never sent out a Meeting Invite from my Nokia N8 (PR1.2) to anyone before. However, in the days of collaboration, people send & receive Calendar Appointments to and from different Email/PIM Clients.
Since Symbian Anna announced that it will have "e-mail invitations with full meeting request support"... I ran a test with a buddy of mine that had Symbian Anna.
This is also because iPhone users can 'send invitations' during Calendar Event creation and this meeting request magically appears in my Google Calendar.
Why are't Nokia generated meeting requests appearing in e-mail and Google Calendar???
    Observations:
    a) When I send out a Meeting Request (via E-mail or SMS), my Nokia N8 PR 1.2 (Pre-Anna) - sends the attachment as Calendar.vcs, which has a totally different format from the meeting.ics that is read by e-mail clients. Is the meeting.ics a change in Symbian Anna? I am assuming that Calendar.vcs is an internal Nokia to Nokia format. This does not work in this day and age of people using many different brands of OS's.
**Side Note: I am in Canada. When is my Anna Update for my Vanilla Nokia USA N8 going to be available???
    b) When I receive this Calendar.vcs as an attachment in e-mail, it is not translated as a Calendar Invitation item at all in my Gmail or my PC E-mail Client. Why?
Calendar.vcs is sent out as "Application/Octet-Stream" in Base64 Encoding by the Symbian Email Client or the Nokia Email Servers??? Why???
What does Application/Octet-Stream tell the receiving email client? This is an application attachment. Treat it as such.
    c) When I asked my friend who has a Nokia N8 (PR 2.0) Symbian Anna to send me a meeting request, I get an email that has an attachment "meeting.ics" -- let's call this Specimen A -- when it arrived in my Google Inbox, it is not seen nor translated as a Calendar Item.
By this time, I got confused...
So I sent an Appointment/Calendar Request from my Novell Groupwise and sent it to my Google. I also receive a "meeting.ics" -- let's call this Specimen B. However, Google was able to immediately translate that this meeting.ics is a Calendar Item and neatly displays it as such, asking me to say YES, NO, MAYBE to the Calendar item. It even magically inserts into my Google Calendar.
So I was even MORE confused!!!
Here is what I have gathered from reading the Message Sources.
    Nokia meeting.ics (Specimen A)
    - attachment meeting.ics is sent out as MIME TYPE Application/MSPowerpoint (this tells the receiving client that this is a powerpoint application and is not translated as a Calendar Item)
    - attachment meeting.ics is sent out encoded in Base64
    - meeting.ics files is missing PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION in each Attendee (tells the PIM Calendar that this Calendar Request needs to be acted upon with an Accept/Deny)
    Novell Groupwise meeting.ics (Specimen B)
    - attachment meeting.ics is sent out as MIME TYPE Text/Calendar
    - attachment meeting.ics is encoded in 8-Bit
    - meeting.ics file has PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION for Attendees.
So what is the difference? Why is the meeting.ics (Specimen B) from Groupwise readable by Google Mail/Calendar while meeting.ics (Specimen A) from Nokia Symbian Email Client not readable at all?
So I did a small test.
I edited Specimen A meeting.ics from Nokia Email Client and added to th PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION Attendees.
I sent these in 2 Test Emails to my Google Mail.
Test 1: Original meeting.ics from Nokia Email without PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION
Test 2: Altered meeting.ics from Nokia Email WITH PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION
I send these "meeting.ics" tests via my Groupwise Client as an attachment file.
When I received both in my Google Mail, Google is able to properly render this as a Calendar Item and display it as such, asking me to say YES, NO, MAYBE to both instances of the Test Emails.
So, maybe PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION has nothing to do with this then...
I forwarded the test messages back to myself to see what MIME-TYPE Groupwise sent this as this time.
It sent it as TEXT/PLAIN and encoded in Base64. So now, we know Base64 Encoding & 8Bit Encoding is not the culprit.
So I ponder more. WHY WOULD NOKIA EMAIL CLIENT SEND OUT meeting.ics as APPLICATION/MSPOWERPOINT???? *.ics file extension is not even related to anything Powerpoint.
So if meeting.ics is sent out by the sending email client as text/calendar or text/plain, the receiving email client is able to properly translate this and render this as a Calendar Item (Request).
However, because Nokia Email Client send this out as "Application/MSPowerpoint", the receiving email client will think this is an e-mail attachment for PowerPoint and will not display the Calendar Item properly.
MIME-TYPES. Something so basic, something that would cause a HUGE ERROR.
Is this a BUG? I THINK IT IS...  PLEASE FIX THIS ERROR. PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!
So... THIS IS A FAIL. Nokia!
Collaboration is also part of "Connecting People". If Person X using Outlook, Person B using Crackberry, Person C using iPhone, Person D using Android, Person E using a Nokia Symbian cannot collaborate and send/receive/accept/deny Calendar Items they send each other... isn't there a HUGE DISCONNECT?
I am hoping, actually, I am praying really hard to the many gods and dieties that this will be forwarded immediately to the Nokia Email Client Team to be looked at and an Update Immediately made available.
    Thanks.

    Hi Joe,
    1.      Whether the sender and recipient users are on the same AD site?
    2.      If the user uses OWA to access the Meeting Request message, whether is it still displayed as a normal email instead of a meeting request?
I would like to explain that a meeting request should have MAPI property “PR_MESSAGE_CLASS” which value is IPM.Schedule.Meeting.Request. A normal message will have the MAPI property “PR_MESSAGE_CLASS” which value is IPM.Note.
    The issue may occur:
    1.      Some third-party software such as spam filter software and disclaimer software change the mail format
    2.      Some Add-ins on the Outlook change the mail format
To troubleshoot the possible cause 1, I suggest that you enable Pipeline Tracing:
Using Pipeline Tracing to Diagnose Transport Agent Problems
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125198(EXCHG.80).aspx
Note: Because Pipeline tracing could place a large amount of strain on a system, I suggest that you disable it after gathering the information.
To troubleshoot the possible cause 2, I suggest that you disable the Add-ins temporarily:
    Disable third-party add-ins of Outlook
    ==================================
    1.      Backup and then remove the following two registry keys:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
    2.      Restart the Outlook by using “Outlook /Safe”

  • Sending Outlook Meeting Requests through Outlook using JSP?

    Hi all,
I'm trying to develop a web application that's able to invoke the Create New Meeting Request dialog from the client's Outlook (they are using Outlook 2002/2003), and populate some data from server-side into the Meeting Request, so that users can customize the Request if necessary and send it out.
Have looked at a few solutions as follows:
    1) HTML's mailto
This is not good, coz the body can only accept plain text, whereas I need to be able to send HTML text (which Outlook can accept).
    2) Outlook View Control
This was more hopeful, as I was able to invoke the new Meeting Request dialog. However still no way to send my data to the Meeting Request :-(
Basically, what I need is to be able to send a customized Meeting Request through some means, like for example getting Outlook to do it like the above, or sending out via some Java APIs (do they exist?)
Any ideas if the above is possible at all? Or if there are other ways to do this, other than relying on Outlook?
I'm open to any suggestions, even commercial solutions, since I'm quite urgently in need of options.
Note that I can't connect direct to Exchange (there are some solutions for doing that), because of some security issues which doesn't allow me to connect to the Exchange Server.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

    Hi whartung,
Thanks for the reply! Appreciate it.
I think what you are suggesting is exactly what Outlook View Control is. Unfortunately, as I've mentioned, it seems that Microsoft did not give it sufficient controls to be able to pre-populate a new Meeting Request. You can only invoke the Outlook UI to create the Meeting Request, but there's no APIs to populate the new Meeting Request.
Have however found a possible alternative in the meantime:
Outlook supports iCalendar files which is a standard for calendaring information storage, and it is able to process a Meeting Request from an iCalendar file which contains details of the Meeting Request.
So what I'm looking to do is this:
    1) Create the iCalendar file in the backend with Java.
    2) Send an email to the user(s) who is intended to receive the Meeting Request, with the iCalendar file attached.
    3) User clicks on the iCalendar file, which prompts them to process the Meeting Request.
Somewhat indirect, but gets the Meeting Request across, and all the 3 steps are actually possible.
Furthur to this, it opens up the possibility of sending Outllook Contacts (which supports iCard format) through similar mechanisms as well!

  • Outlook does not send meeting requests at all.

    Hi all
My problem is both annoyingly simple and frustratingly annoying, but so far i haven't been able to solve it, nor has our IT department.
In short, my Outlook doesn't send meeting requests to invite attendees. (My colleagues, same exchange server) I am the only one having this problem. When i send out a meeting request, it appears double in my calendar (asking me to accept) but nothing shows
up in my sent items, nor in their calendar. If i delete the event, this is sent out; new ones and updates are not.
To my knowledge, I use the standard IPM.Appointment form, but have used another standard form in the past (which was removed.)
A new profile doesn't help, nor does uninstalling / reinstalling Outlook 2007. I installed Outlook 2010 - same phenomenon.
It has worked all the time, but stopped working about 10 months ago, no apparent cause.
I should add that I can send out meeting requests through Exchange from my iPad and iPhone, just not from my computer. (and no, they are not related - the time i got iPad and iPhone everything worked)
OS is Windows 7 Professional 64 bits, MS Office 2010, various applications installed but none related to calendar useage / sync / ...
I am local admin, this is my work PC so no 'dubious' SW installed, nor authorised.
According to the server guys, there is nothing exceptional like the forms attached to my account - they claim it's something local, but also have no clue what it might be. Even Mr. Google or Ms. Bing do not provide an answer, so i'm hoping someone here might
outsmart everyone else and come up with a solution.
(ps - i'm quite sure it isn't "stupid user error" either, I'm an IT specialist/consultant/developer - but this one baffles me and everyone looking for it...)
Added info - on my PC, when logging in with a different account but connecting to my own exchange account, it works.
Replacing forms related info from the user/appdata folder of the functional user towards the non-functional user account didn't work. (even though the information was different)
No difference in the registry as i can see.
Tried to add ForceFormReload to the registry - no use.
I activated logging, also nothing in there.
I also receive no error whatsoever, it really is like Outlook simply isn't configured to send out meeting requests anymore...
Also, no errors in the event viewer in case you were wondering.
When working offline, it is clear that the meeting requests simply do not enter the 'outbox'. (cancellations do)
Assuming it might be a corrupt DLL somewhere, i scheduled a Chkdsk C: /F/R this evening. A long shot, yes, but grasping at straws here...
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Kind regards,
    Dennis

    solved - completely uninstalled, reboot
removed all keys in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0 (the entire folder)
removed all outlook related registry keys in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0 and 12.0, also in 8.0 and 9.0
    removed HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook completely
    rebooted
installed Office Pro2010 again, and now it works.
so in short - there was a messed-up registry key somewhere in there, that was missed by installing it, or even completely reinstalling it.
FYI - all my settings remained the same, no info or config loss except the colour profile i used...
    Grtz,
    Dennis

  • Integrating Outlook (Meeting Request) with JSP/ASP

    Hi there
I am new to this forum. I was wondering if anyone knew a way where I could have a form in ASP or JSP for setting up meetings, and this form sends in meeting requests(instead of mail) to the recipients' outlook mailbox?
    Thank ya all.

    Hi,
Before we go further, Please kindly confirm does this issue only happens on that iPhone 5c? or repro's on all recipients' devices?
You might need to check if you have checked the check box of use the iCalendar format in
File->Options->Calendar->When sending meeting requests outside of your organization, use the iCalendar format.
Start your Outlook client in safe mode also worth a try as some add-ins, like the Anti-virus add-ins may also cause this kind of issue. Just press Win + R and type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, then press Enter.
Please try above workarounds first, and feel free to post back with any findings.

  • Cannot view the detailed Email date and time about the meeting request

Hi,I am unable to view the detailed message and Date and time of a meeting request in the default Email app in my Sony Xperia P mobile. Even when i select the calender it does not defaultly go to the meeting date. I need to manually select the date to see the meeting. I cannot see the meeting details without accepting it.I have seen the better behaviors on HTC One V and Galaxy Nexus where full meeting details including message, Date, time, venue appears in the meeting request message. Is there any setting which needs to be changes or is it the limitation of the phone app.Regards,Pratik Ranjan

Hi Johan,Im also seeing this on my xperia s, ICS.  Here's some additional info i have after some testing:Work have Exchange 2010, I have sent calendar invites from outlook 2007 and 2010 clients and it works for the 2007 clients as it automatically adds the meeting details into the body of the request, something it doesn’t do in 2010, so it may be the way the calendar form has changed in 2010.   It also works fine when i get an invite from an external person. This however is just adding the text into the body, I too have tested with the HTC One S and Samsung Galxay S3, bith use the stock email and both display the time as part ofthe invite no tin the body of the invite,
In doing the testing I have also found another issue. I have found that it doesn’t inform you of a calendar conflict.ThanksMike

  • Is it possible to create a Webservice in BI which takes XML as an input and gives PDF as output with an additional requirement that Siebel expecting the XSD from BI to send data in the BI requested format

Is it possible to create a Webservice in BI which takes XML as an input and gives PDF as output with an additional requirement that Siebel expecting the XSD from BI to send data in the BI requested format. Siebel wants to send the data as xml to BI but not sure of the BI capabilities on giving WSDL embedded with XSD (input is a hierarchical)

    Hi All,
I am able to fulfil above requirement. Now I am stuck at below point. Need your help!
Is there any way to UPDATE the XML file attached to a Data Definition (XML Publisher > Data Definition) using a standard package or procedure call or may be an API from backend? I am creating an XML dynamically and I want to attach it to its Data Definition programmatically using SQL.
Please let me know if there is any oracle functionality to do this.
If not, please let me know the standard directories on application/database server where the XML files attached to Data Definitions are stored.
    For eg, /$APPL_TOP/ar/1.0/sql or something.

  • How do I see meeting requests but not responses to meetings arranged by my delegates?

    Hello
I am surprised that I can't see this precise question as it is  stopping the whole executive of my company from using outlook delegation in Exchange 2010 and in fact they use email between PAs rather than calendar requests to manage all meetings. This
is because the exec don't want to see any responses to meetings arranged by delegates.
    1. I want to see meeting invites that are sent to me so I can decide whether to attend or not.
2, My delegates set up many meetings on my behalf and I don't want to see any responses to those meetings - my delegate deals with those, not me.
    Can this be achieved?
I know I can avoid seeing any meeting requests and responses, but that is not what I want! I want not to see responses to meetings arranged by my delegates on my behalf.
This is a real obstacle to adopting calendars in my organisation
    thanks!

Thank you for the suggestion. We do have several other email systems in use but on the whole, as CIO (and, by the way, female) I've moved tens of thousands of users to 365 and try to move people there in general. However, it seems silly or inept of MS not
to provide this simple functionality. I have seen this be an issue in more than one organisation.
The only solution seems to be for the PAs to work harder or for the Execs to do as I do (i.e. move lots of pointless meeting invites into a junk folder - because of the poor interface with iOS it is risky to delete an MS meeting response as it may vanish
from your phone). You would think it worth MS considering how people actually want to delegate.

  • Track response of .ICS file(Meeting request) in SAP R/3

    Dear Experts,
I am able to send the meeting request to MS-Outlook using the following thread.
When the user opens the .ICS file and accepts the meeting request in MS-Outlook, the MS-Outlook calender gets booked.
Now the requirement is, Once User accepts the meeting request an event should be trigerred in SAP R/3 so as to track the User response. Is there any BADI/API s available which can be used to achieve this?
    Regards,
    Vaishali.

    Hi,
Triggering the event is the easy part. That will be just pure ABAP development.
Your problem is that how can you call your function/method (or whatever) from the Outlook (or from Exchange server). So, you should really try to investigate the possible modification or enhancement possibilities of the Echange server - and this is not really an SDN issue at all (of course if you are lucky, someone could notice this thread and help). If you find a way to add some kind of "modification" to the Exchange server (for example you could find a way to call a web service always when the meeting request is accepted), then you can easily build the necessary web service around your ABAP function.
Another approach could be that you try to utilize the possible Exchange server web service API. For example it seems that there is some kind of availibility service available, which you could use to find out the user's availibility (I am not sure though that is it possible to see whether the user has accepted the meeting request or not). Anyhow, if you find out a way for this, you could call the web service from your ABAP system to find out the corresponding information from Exchange server.
    Good luck.
    Regards,
    Karri

  • When attempting to format region and set date and time the busy icon appears and seems to stay like this?

when attempting to format region and set date and time the busy icon appears and seems to stay like this?

Click on DU's Partition tab when you have the raw drive name selected, then set it to one partition, Mac OS Extended. If it crashes or freezes, it is finding a bad block and can't write.
In any event, if you want to use the drive, and have not zeroed it before, you should now.
Click on Erase -> Security Options -> Zero out data. Still with the full drive selected and not any partition(s).
Then repartition the drive if needed.
Boot from the DVD if that doesn't work. And no, TTPro has never mapped out bad blocks let alone create partitions.
Disk Utility in 10.4.8 is quite good, excellent in fact. No need for an alternative.
Your eMac drive may need to touch of Disk Utility itself. FSCK from the command line, clear the caches with Applejack along with check for corrupt plists. Between Disk Utilty and Applejack (free/shareware) never had to use TechTool Pro - or at least there weren't any errors after those two got done. But if you want a good 3rd party, pick up Disk Warrior 4.

    Hi,
Please try the following points to narrow down the issue:
    1. Please check whether the default Calendar folder is checked when you created the meeting request and sent it out.
    2. Please check whether there is any shared calendar opened in your Outlook and the meeting request is created on behalf of the shared calendar instead of your own calendar.
    3. Create a new Outlook profile and create a test meeting request to have a try.

  • Ical meeting requests and outlook

    Hi All,
I need your help. we have a mixed network of PC (XPP) and 30 newly deployed Mac's (OSX10.5).
iCal to iCal meeting requests are fine.
iCal to Entourage meeting requests are fine
iCal to Outlook meeting requests don't work.
As we are wanting to move Mac users away fro Entourage we are motivated to resolve this issue.
when an iCal meeting request is sent to an Outlook recipient, they receieve an email with 2 empty attachments, and a note that states that to accept this meeting, they must click on the link below; although, there is NO link for the user to click on.
Outlook and Entourage are working thru Exchange Server 2003. iCal is (presently) working off local installs. iCal Server is due for operation in a few weeks.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance.

    [email protected]

There are several discussions regarding this same topic on the Apple forums and elsewhere. None of them have solved the problem. This seems to be an issue that has been around for a long time but never addressed by Apple or Microsoft. From some simple tests that I have done, it appears the the Microsoft Exchange Server is not interpreting the iCal event (.ics extension) properly. I have seen discussions saying that Apple is not formatting the event properly or is using a newer standard that MS Exchange does not support. I believe it is the later as I can make the event work properly without any software changes but I have to do some steps manually. Here is how I can make it work and why I believe something is wrong in MS Exchange:
    - create event in iCal and add an Outlook user
    - send the event/email (ignore this email on the PC as it does not work)
    - open the just sent email and save the attached iCal event
    - find the saved iCal event and add a letter to the extension such as ".icss"
    - (Note: I don't know if there is a way to rename an attachment already in a message)
    - attach this renamed event to a new message and send it to the Outlook user
    - the Outlook user must open the message, save the attachment and rename it back to ".ics"
    - double clicking / opening this renamed file now works perfectly in Outlook
Now, if I could only automate some of these steps on the Mac before I send the message would be very helpful. This is not a great solution but I use it for events that I want to sync between my home Mac and my office PC.
Because the renamed attachment (.icss) works through Exchange (by ignoring it), I am lead to believe that MS Exchange will interpret an ".ics" extension and mess up the handling of it for some reason. Microsoft is never one to follow standards very carefully or adopt them very quickly. Our company is using Exchange 2003 so maybe that is part of the problem as it is an older version.

  • Ical misinterprets timezone in entourage meeting requests

    hi
my timezone is GMT+8 and is set as such in Date & Time (10.4.7). I have Timezone support on in ICal Version 2.0.3 (1058). I also set the current timezone to asia/Singapore in ical. Meeting requests sent to me from Entourage which are also set to GMT + 8 turn up 8 hours late. The same meeting request however turns up at the correct time in outlook.
I have included an example meeting request for reference:
