DB 13 error in distributed system (brconnect)
hi expert,
I installed distributed system .
DB instance is Unix (hp) and Central instance is NT.
I install standalone gateway in DB host for DB13 and then configured TCP/IP detination SAPXPG_DBDEST_<DBhost> .
I checked SAPXPG_DBDEST_<DBhost> connection is OK.
but check db error in DB13

previous this error, `brconnect not found error` is corrected by copy br* kernels to gateway kerenl directory.
I thought brconnect is started by gateway`s <sid>adm user so I gave environment value "ORACLE_SID,ORACLE_HOME,SAPDATA_HOME" to gateway`s <sid>adm .
but error is same.
finally, I want to know who execute brconnect in DB instance and how can I correct this problem.
thanks and regards

Can you help me ?
Many thanks,Hi,
Check the entries in SAPXPG_DBDEST_<dbserver> RFC (TCP/IP Type).
"Target Host" is having the value of host name or IP address of DBSERVER host ?
If the problem is with the entries of SAPXPG_DBDEST_<dbserver> RFC, then correct the same and Test the connection.
Then perform Checkdb or any required job from DB13.

DB13 on distributed system ECC 6 EHP 4 Solaris - Oracle error
Dear all,
I have a new ECC 6 EHP 4 ABAP only distributed system installation on Solaris 10- Oracle 10 platform. Kernel version 7.01.
Let call application/CI hostname = apphost
and DB Instance hostname = dbhost
I tried to set up DBA job (checkdb, update statistic, backup) via DB13, but its always end with error like this:
Can't exec external program (No such file or directory)
External program terminated with exit code 1.
RFC SAPXPG_DBDDEST_dbhost settings are like this:
Program : /sapmnt/KCP/exe/sapxpg
Target host: dbhost
Gateway host: apphost
Gateway service: sapgwxx
I have set rhosts on both server already.
Shell : sh
Looks like it cannot find executable program when try to do it remotely.
Please help..
Thanks
FendhySorry, i mean the Shell is /bin/sh
I tried to follow this Note 1025707 - DBA Cockpit planning calendar and remote Oracle databases and tried to set up the scenario using rsh.
I copied all brtools files to home dir of <sid>adm on dbhost and tried again on DB13.
It can find the br*tools executables but now it show error :
BR0152E Environment variable ORACLE_SID is not set
So i got a clue for this error. I think since it was run on rsh, the environment variables weren't loaded for the rsh session.
Still searching to load this Environment variable on the rsh session.

Post installation error "Local logical system is not defined"
Hello everyone,
I freshly installed the latest SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial from scratch and like to configure ALE.
I followed thew steps of http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/EN/data/pdf/CABFAALEQS/CABFAALEQS.pdf
(ALE Quick Start) but cannot get through the following step on page 12:
From the R/3 Implementation Guide screen in TA SALE
choose Basis
Application Link Enabling (ALE)
Modeling and Implementing Business Processes
Maintain Distribution Model and Distribute Views
Clicking on Maintain Distribution Model or using TA BD87, I immedeately get the following error:
The initialization of the logical system has failed.
With TA BD64 the error: Local logical system is not defined arises. I also looked at
/people/swaroopa.vishwanath/blog/2007/01/22/ale-configuration-for-pushing-idocs-from-sap-to-xi,
/people/vikash.krishna/blog/2006/10/15/replicating-hr-master-data-part-1 and
/people/kevin.wilson2/blog/2006/11/13/ale-scenario-development-guide describing the same actions
to find an explanation, but without success
I assume, the error does not occur because the trial version does not support it, but
because of other post installation activities that must be done.
I already created two logical systems and assigned them to newly created clients 100 and 200,
but this did not have any impact on BD87 and BD64 as i was hoping.
Does somebody know what to do here?
Thanks in advance and kind regards,
AndreasHi Naveed,
i made the following settings:
SCC4: new entries created
100 Sending System
200 Receiving System
SM59: new ABAP type 3 connections:
RFC_DEST_LS_100
RFC_DEST_LS_200
- Tab Logon & Security Logon user: current user (bcuser client 001)
Connection test is successful
- Technical Settings: target host: localhost
SALE: new logical systems created
LS_100
LS_200
SCC4:
double click on 100 Sending System configured with logical system LS_100
double click on 200 Receiving System configured with logical system LS_200

Internal order - Error - Different logical system for order
Hello all,
I try to send IDoc (INTERNAL_ORDER) from system A to system B.
I have done:
- BD64 / WE20 / WE21
But after having customizing I have got following error:
Different logical system for order xxxxxx
Message no. 2075ALE001
Diagnosis
Internal order xxxxxxx already exists in system B. Its master system B is different from the master system A of the new internal order to be distributed with the same order number xxxxxxx.
System Response
Internal order xxxxxxx with master system A cannot be distributed in system B.
Procedure
Check customizing for ALE for internal orders.
How to solve this?
My aim is to maintain internal order master data in test system.
Thanks for your help.
DavidI have found something.
If I change in table AUFK, logical from empty to A (master) and I run IDOC then IDOC has been correctly integrated.
Then: how to define "master"? -
Error with Transport system not configured that may be related to CHaRM
Who has in depth knowledge on setting up SAP Solution Manager CHaRM. Had an odd problem with the transport system failing when the QA system was shut down for maintenance. Transports were not able to be created or save to. Error message was Transport System not configured. Brought up QA and re-distributed system and Transport group and transport requests started working again.
Hello,
if a system, e.g. QA system, will not be available due to a maintenance task,
we set the status of this system to "temporarily inactive" (see header data in transaction SMSY).
This status allows us, to create new transport requests in DEV-System although consolidation system QA is not available.
(Of course you have to reset the status, when QA-system ist started again.)
Hint: it is not possible to release or to import a transport request, when consolidation system is shut down.
Therefore the developer should pay attention to the messages, which raise in urgent corrections.

Adapter Engine has wrong hostname after HSC with Distributed System
I have an interesting situation where I have performed a homogeneous system copy from a standard system to a distributed system. The only that really has changed is the database server name. I performed the global host install, the database instance import, and then the Primary Application Server install.
The strange error is that the adapter engine after the install shows the hostname of the database server. The SLD CIM Instance data shows the hostname of the database server as an adapter engine. The correct hostname for the adapter engine is there also, but is not updated by the SLD Data Supplier/or RZ70 update.
The SLD entries for the ABAP and Java stacks are never updated after this copy.
I'm pretty much stumped on this one. I think I picked the correct options for the install.Hi,
you said that you have done homogenous system refresh. As a check please follow the below note and let me know if it is helpful.

Error while distributing the ALE distribution model through BD64
Hi,
I am getting the error while distributing the distribution model through BD64. The error is as follows:
"Model view DVGDVH has not been updated
Reason: the following ALE connection already exists in model view TESTMOD".
What does this means?
Regards,
Soumya.Dear Sapera,
I faced the same problem last night.
We just manually deleted the distribution model from receiving system.
Log on to receiving system => BD64 => change/dispay => edit => delete => Save.
Once deleted log in to sender system and then select model and distribute again.
by performing this we were able to resolve this issue.

RT Target Resources and Distributed System Manager
Hello all,
Does anyone know of some potential reasons why an RT target might not publish its CPU and memory usage? This particular target is a cFP-2200 running a complete installation of FieldPoint 6.0.2 (RT 8.6) including System State Publisher. For some reason I can't view the memory usage on this target and I haven't been able to figure it out.
Thanks in advance,
JimHello Hillman,
Thanks for your reply! I sort of
figured that this one would go by the wayside and not be answered.
Actually, I'm not using RTSM; I'm using the Distributed System Manager
- It's a relatively new tool that ships with LabVIEW RT 8.6. In my
humble opinion, I find it to be much superior to the RT System Manager
in its own way. The only downside, really, is that you can't log with
it natively, but there are ways around that.
You've
got some great suggestions. I definitely was using the correct IP, I
could target it with LabVIEW because I loaded my application on there,
and I didn't get any boot errors when I connected. You're absolutely
right, too, that the CPU is always maxed out at 100%.
I
guess I was perplexed because, one moment I could see the resources in
DSM (is that acronym valid yet?), and after I reloaded the software
from scratch, I could see lots of variables on the target, but for some
reason the system resources weren't showing up. After no one jumped on
the question, I went back to tweaking various settings and realized
that I hadn't rebooted after enabling VI Server. In fact, I didn't
think that VI Server would be the issue and hadn't really thought of
checking there. My reasoning followed that, if all of the other
variables showed up, surely it wouldn't be VI Server, but that fixed it.
I definitely appreciate your getting back to me, though.
Cheers,
Jim -
I just installed my first Distributed System. I am now trying to backup the system by using DB13 to start online backup using brtools. I have been looking for documentation on Distributed System backup. The best thing I found that could make some sense is SAP Note 1025707, 446172. So here is my landscape. I have one server call ORA which will end up hosting 3 oracle databases called SMP, NWP, SDP. There is no abap or java installed on the host only the database. I have other servers that host the abap and java stacks.
From reading the notes, I am guessing I need to install either a gateway process to do backup or do something with ssh. I am thinking the gateway process. First am I on the right track what needs to be done. If so should I install one gateway process as oraadm that could that control all the other SIDs? Or do I have to install a different gateway process for each SID? Or am I way off and there is whole different solution I should be using.
Thank you
MatthewHi,
I don't think so you need to install sap gateway on database sever for same.
You need to configured init<SID>.sap which is located in /oracle/<SID>/xx_xx/dbs and set the respective file permission for brarchive, brbackup, brconnect, brtools.
chown ora<sid>:sapsys brarchive
chown ora<sid>:sapsys brbackup
chown ora<sid>:sapsys brconnect
chown ora<sid>:sapsys brtools
chmod 4775 brarchive
chmod 4775 brbackup
chmod 4775 brconnect
chmod 4775 brtools

Shared variables missing in distributed system manager
I have multiple shared variables in a library (.lvlib). These are all network-published shared variables. I can see the library in Distributed System Manager but not the variables in the library. When I look at the properties page in Share Variables Properties Dialog, aliasing is not enabled because the library is hosted on the same machine as the application.
I tried to run the Shared Variable Monitor application but was given a Runtime Error for TagMonitor.exe; "This application requested Runtime termination in an unusual way. Contact application support team."
I also tried undeploying and deploying the library as suggesting by KB 56PCQ3RR.
Why does Distributed System Manager see the shared variable library but not the shared variables in it?Hello faustina,
Has there been any software or hardware changes on the application since the error occurred? Also I would recommend to format and reinstall the software on your Real-Time target, after this you can follow Matt’s recommendation to test this behavior with a new project and single shared variable.
Regards
Jose R
