DB Connect Error while establishing secondary Database DB2 in mainframe sys
Hello,
I am trying to establish a secondary database connection between my ECC system and a mainframe system.
In my SAP system, the database is Oracle and version is 10.2
I want to connect to a mainframe system DB2 (AS400).
I have installed DB2 client in SAP server.
I have checked the access to Mainframe system from DB2 client.
I have made the entry in DBCON table via t-code DBCO, which looks like this
AS4_HOST=<ip_address>;AS4_DB_LIBRARY=<LIB_NAME>;
But when I run, the std program ABCD_TEST_CONNECTION, I am getting error
Secondary DB connect FAILED!
Some doubts:
1) From an Oracle Database point, is it required to login to sqlplus and create a database link between Oracle Database and the Mainframe Database?
2) Is it required to have an entry in SM59, which connects the Mainframe system, if so what type of connection & name?
3) If anyone has faced situation like this, can you share what steps were taken to resolve the error?
If this is not the forum to post this question, can you suggest the correct forum?
Regards,
Vikas
Hello Prem,
I have established connectivity with Mainframe via DB-Connect.
THe steps are
1) Make entry in DBCON table
2) Install DB2 client in SAP-Server
3) There are some jobs which needs to be run in Mainframe system. The job name was mentioned in one of SAP notes.
If you are facing problems after this, just check SAP version and patch installed.
Regards,
Vikas

RabiHello;
Generally for the connection to work you need to add something like this to the listener.ora file :
(SID_DESC =
(global_dbname = STANDBY.hostname)
(ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.2)
(sid_name = STANDBY)
)You should stop and start the listener on the Standby after adding this. Also your tnsnames.ora must be correct on both the primary and the Standby.
Also you need an INIT for the Standby side :

ORA-12709: error while loading create database character set
I installed Oracle 8.05 on Linux successfully: was able to login
whith SQLPlus, start and stop the db whith svrmgrl etc.
During this install I chose WE8ISO8859P9 as the database
characterset when prompted.
After that I installed Oracle Application Server 3.02, and now
I'm getting the
ORA-12709: error while loading create database character set
message when I try to start up the database, and the database
won't mount.
Platform is RedHat Linux 5.2.
NLS_LANG set to different settings,
e.g. AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P9
but without success.
Anyone any clue?
Thanks!

You can create the database with WE8DEC character set
and to use the WE8ISO8859P9 on the client or even on Linux.
The NLS_LANG setting doesn't effect the database, but the
interface with the database. The same setting can be used in de
windows 95/98/NT registry.

Please help me....................Hi..
This ORA-600 refers to a mismatch has been detected between Redo records and rollback (Undo) records.Is better to lock a call with oracle support.Secondly, apply latest patch on the DB.
I had expereiced the same error, but my DB was in open mode, so i created a new undo tablespace and changed the undo_tablespace parameter and it worked.

-Revku.Hello,
I think there is something wrong with the ")" in the listener.ora : the second SID_DESC is not part of the SID_LIST.
Instead of
SID_LIST_LISTENER =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1)
(SID_NAME = ora11g)
(SID_DESC =
(ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1)
(SID_NAME = CLONEDB)
)It should be :
SID_LIST_LISTENER =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1)
(SID_NAME = ora11g)
(SID_DESC =
(ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1)
(SID_NAME = CLONEDB)
)Hope it will help.

Error while accessing HANA-Database
Hi all,
I try to access the HANA-database (installed as secondary database).
The table is replicated in HANA and I have created a program in ERP with the following procedure:
SELECT * FROM [table]
CONNECTION ('HANADB')
INTO lt_table.
HANADB is the database connection name for HANA (table DBCON).
By running the program I become the following error:
The file "dbhdbslib.dll" is already in the folder "C:\usr\sap\IS0\DVEBMGS00\exe\". Any idea what is missing?
Thx for help, mlf.Hi Jasmin,
the program ADBC_TEST_CONNECTION gives the following error:
But I can't open the trace file.
Do you know what is meaning with error 16?
I'm not the System admin but I can ask him to check on OS level.
Cheers, mlf -
Connection error while provisioning to AD in SSL mode
Hi all,
I am trying to establish the OIM-AD communication in SSL mode to provision the passwords.
for that i used the MSFT_AD_base_91100 connector and deployed it on my OIM-9101which is on Win Server 2003
I configured the ITResource by specifying the following details.
use SSL: yes allow password provisioning: yes port:636
and i imported the keystore by executing 'keytool' command at \bea\jdk....\jre\... keytool.exe
but when i am trying to provision the user by using this SSL mode configuration i am getting the error "Error encountered while connecting to target system". and in the logs i am getting the following exception
=========================================================
ERROR,25 Mar 2010 03:40:49,812,[OIMCP.ADCS],com.thortech.xl.integration.ActiveDi
rectory.tcUtilADTasks : createUser
ERROR,25 Mar 2010 03:40:49,812,[OIMCP.ADCS],Connection Error Occur
ERROR,25 Mar 2010 03:40:49,812,[OIMCP.ADCS],Description : Connection Error Occur
ERROR,25 Mar 2010 03:40:49,812,[OIMCP.ADCS],com.thortech.xl.exception.Connection
Exception: Connection Error Occur
==========================================================
Note: 1) checked AD in SSL mode through jxplorer and ldapbrowser and it is connecting in SSL mode.
2) checked by provisioning the user in non-ssl mode using this connector and its working fine.
Could anyone help me in resolving the issue.?????
Thanks in advance.My suggestion would be - Follow the steps religiously and see if you missed any step or not because I have tried it many a times and other people have also did and it works. You are saying that you imported that certificate in OIM too. See the document and verify your steps and finally the connection parameters in IT resource should be:
- Use SSL = yes
- Port Number = *636*
Thanks

Error while updating a database
hi,
i am getting an error "Object reference not set to an instance of object" while updating a database. here is my code..
QryStr = "update OSRI set U_sqf = Val('" & sqft & "'),U_sqm = Val('" & sqmt & "') where ItemCode = '" & Code & "'"
RecSet.DoQuery(QryStr)
Res = True
Edited by: puneeth shankar on Jul 2, 2008 7:27 PMHi
Maybe you are missing these sentences ..
Dim RecSetAs SAPbobsCOM.Recordset
RecSet= SBO_Company.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.BoRecordset)
and then
QryStr = "update OSRI set U_sqf = Val('" & sqft & "'),U_sqm = Val('" & sqmt & "') where ItemCode = '" & Code & "'"
RecSet.DoQuery(QryStr)
Res = True
But I think you are trying to update directly using an Update statement to a SAP table. You must check the documentation. I think this is not allow. You must then use an alternate way ! -
DBCA ERROR WHILE CREATING A DATABASE
While creating a RAC database using DBCA, DBCA gave the folling error -
"Virtual IP address is not configured for cluster node "pdb1". Run
"/opt/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/oracle/bin/vipca" as "root" user to configure
it before performing the "create Database opration"
I couldn't find vipca in oracle home.
So, i started vipca from crs home as a root user and i got the following error
while configuring the VIP -
" CRS-0211: Resource 'ora.pdb1.vip' has already been registered"
Thanks,A bit old but still useful info for Raw Device

If you are using 10gR2 consider use ASM instead. -
Connection error while performing basic settings SOLMAN 4.0 SP12
Hi All,
We are currently facing a problem while performing Solution Manager 4.0 (SP12) basic configurations through the IMG Wizard. Within the "Initial Configuration Part I" section, an error while connecting to SAP is obtained (This is the full error message "Error creating communication to SAP Service and Support"). After checking at TX SM59, it was noticed that the RFC connections SAP-OSS y SAP-OSS-LIST-O01 (what are supposed to be created in previous steps by copying SAPOSS connection) were no created. We created them both manually (also tested) and everything was ok. We started the Wizard again, and the same error was obtained. However, it was noticed that the SAP-OSS RFC connection had been deleted. The system log shows the following:
00789 - Dialog work process No. 000 - XXXXXX - EQUIPO - 1 - SM_CONFIG_WZ - M_CONFIG_WZ_START - T - Transaction Problem - STSK
The same scenario occurs every time the above wizard is used.
It worth to mention that the SAPOSS connection works fine and also, just to perform a test, I was able to download a note correction through the SNOTE transaction.
Where should I check to see what is causing this connection error? Do I missing a previous configuration step?
Also, would be very helpful for us to get an step by step reference guide for SM configuration. We want to be sure we are no missing or mixed up anything.
Thanks so much for your help.

Why do you start configuration for SP12, although most current version is SolMan 7.0 EhP1 SPS19?
What scenarios / functions are you planning to use?
