DB Control returning null

I have an JPF which is calling a Database Control and its returning null, I have posted code for this in my previous topic, If any one had experienced this before i appreciate if could share that would be really greatful,

I could be incorrect on this ... but the capability you are describing is in the OEM Grid Control. I don't recall seeing it in the OEM DBConsole.

    1. post your code wrapped in code tags and it'll display it nicely.
    2. post to the Java Media Framework topic,
    I haven't tried JMF within an applet.
    Have you tried getting it working in an application first ?
    That should simplify your debugging to start with.
    I suspect the Player hasn't started yet, or isn't in a realised state.

  • I am trying to raise event at UserControl, and catch it at Main program, But the event always return null

    I am trying to raise a event in one of classes of userControl, and Fire it in the Main class. I tried two different ways to fire this event, one of them works, But I still want to know why other way cannot work, and how to fix it.
    My userContol class:
    public partial class UserControl1 : UserControl
    public UserControl1()
    InitializeComponent();
    if (System.ComponentModel.DesignerProperties.GetIsInDesignMode(this))
    return;
    Class1 c = new Class1();
    Thread accept = new Thread(
    () =>
    c.connection();
    accept.Start();
    And the Class1:
    public class Class1
    public delegate void myhandler(object sender, EventArgs e);
    public event myhandler test;
    public Class1()
    public void connection()
    test(this, new EventArgs());
    In the Main, I just simply add into referent, and add
    xmlns:my="clr-namespace:WpfControlLibrary1;assembly=WpfControlLibrary1"
    then I try to subscribe this event in the main
    public partial class SurfaceWindow1 : SurfaceWindow
    /// <summary>
    /// Default constructor.
    /// </summary>
    public SurfaceWindow1()
    InitializeComponent();
    Class1 c = new Class1();
    c.test+=new Class1.myhandler(c_test);
    // Add handlers for window availability events
    AddWindowAvailabilityHandlers();
    public void c_test(object sender, EventArgs e)
    MessageBox.Show("fire");
    If I only raise this event not into thread, it works fine, but If I try to let it raise in this thread, this test event only return null, and shows:
    Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
    looks like I did not subscribe it ever. So How to fix it if I must use it in thread.

    Subscribing to events window to class is not a great approach.
    You have to then go un subscribe those handlers in order to allow your instance to be disposed.
    Forget that and you'll eventually notice you have memory leaks.
    The way I do this sort of thing is using mvvm light messenger.
    You can keep everything decoupled then.
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/26070.aspx
    I just did a bit of code for someone else which shows how to do cross thread stuff with this approach.
    public partial class MainWindow : Window
    public MainWindow()
    InitializeComponent();
    Messenger.Default.Register<String>(this, (action) => ReceiveString(action));
    private void ReceiveString(string msg)
    MessageBox.Show(msg);
    Dispatcher.BeginInvoke((Action)delegate()
    tb.Text = msg;
    private void Button_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
    Task.Factory.StartNew(() => {
    Messenger.Default.Send<String>("Hello World");
    Note that the message arrives on the thread it was sent from. That's not the ui thread because it was sent from that task.factory.startnew to deliberately put it on a different thread.
    In order to change UI controls, it uses dispatcher.begininvoke to run code on the UI thread.
    Although this is in one piece of code behind publisher and subscriber can be in two totally different classes which have no reference of knowledge of each other.
    Meaning you can send a message<t> from any class1 or whatever you like and your mainwindow can subscribe and act of receipt of a message<t>.
    It is the type which defines which message one is. You put data you want to send in t and use it in the subscriber.
    Hope that helps.

  • Managed bean returns null on SetActionListener

    Hi,
    I'm trying to implement a filter for my table (something similar to what's done in the "OracleAS 10g R3: Oracle ADF for Forms/4GL Developers/Volume II" student guide, practice 9-5). The idea is to have a request-scoped managed bean which holds the filter value - the value is set using a SetActionListener, and later bound to a bind variable in a view with a view criteria. I have problem re-creating this in Trinidad (JDev 11 TP3, to be exact).
    I have created a request-scoped bean in adfc-config.xml (called 'ecnStatusBean'), with a managed property (named 'Status'). I am referencing it from my SetActionListener: setting #{'E'} to #{requestScope.ecnStatusBean.Status}. The reference compiles fine in the Expression Builder (it didn't before I created the managed bean), but when running and clicking the CommandLink with the SetActionListener, I get a runtime error:
    oracle.security.jazn.JAZNRuntimeException: Target Unreachable, 'ecnStatusBean' returned null
         at oracle.security.jazn.oc4j.JAZNFilter.doFilter(JAZNFilter.java:480)
    To make things more interesting, I tried changing the scope to session, and got a different error:
    oracle.adf.controller.ControllerException: ADFC-10001: Cannot instantiate class 'pelephone.cdma_ecn.ecn_manager.model.ecnStatusMB'.
         at oracle.adfinternal.controller.util.Utils.createAndLogFacesException(Utils.java:169)
    Am I doing a rookie's mistake? Is this a Trinidad issue? Something else?
    Thanks in advance for any help,
    Boris

    Are you sure about the reference you use here: #{requestScope.ecnStatusBean.Status}.
    Here is a simple sample of what works for me:
    The first page has this:
          <af:form binding="#{backing_start.form1}" id="form1">
            <af:inputText label="Label 1" binding="#{backing_start.inputText1}"
                          id="inputText1"/>
            <af:commandButton text="commandButton 1"
                              binding="#{backing_start.commandButton1}"
                              id="commandButton1" action="go">
              <af:setActionListener from="#{backing_start.inputText1.value}"
                                    to="#{backing_start.paramToPass}"/>
            </af:commandButton>
          </af:form>It references a bean that has this:
        private RichInputText inputText1;
        public void setInputText1(RichInputText inputText1) {
            this.inputText1 = inputText1;
        public RichInputText getInputText1() {
            return inputText1;
        public String paramToPass;
        public void setParamToPass(String paramToPass) {
            this.paramToPass = paramToPass;
        public String getParamToPass() {
            return paramToPass;
        }And then I can see it in the next page that I navigated to like this:
            <af:outputText value="the current value is #{backing_start.paramToPass}"/>In the adf-config.xml I have this:
    <adfc-config xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller" version="1.2">
      <view id="start">
        <page>/start.jspx</page>
      </view>
      <view id="end">
        <page>/end.jspx</page>
      </view>
      <control-flow-rule>
        <from-activity-id>start</from-activity-id>
        <control-flow-case>
          <from-outcome>go</from-outcome>
          <to-activity-id>end</to-activity-id>
        </control-flow-case>
      </control-flow-rule>
      <managed-bean>
        <managed-bean-name>backing_start</managed-bean-name>
        <managed-bean-class>backing.backing_start</managed-bean-class>
        <managed-bean-scope>request</managed-bean-scope>
      </managed-bean>

  • Transient vo attribute binding returning null

    i have a editable form with multiple input text components which i created by dropping a collection on page.
    now i want to add more fields which are transient and read only.
    i added two transient attributes in VO with Updatable to Never and queryable to true, i dont have the logic yet so the expression is blank. i created a label using control hint.
    now i created two attribute value bindings for these new fields.
    i created two input text fields and used these bindings for their label , value properties. i set readonly and disabled both true for these input text fields.
    if i hard code the label and value properties of input text it works, if i use binding expressions for them, it throws some error saying could not find binding for transient fileds or thery returned null.
    what stpes should i use to add a transient field to a editable form.
    jdev 11.1.1.5.0

    Put the transient attributes into the underlying eo, refresh the vo and add the attributes from the eo to the vo. Now they should work just as any other attribute.

  • Binding for "File Content Repository Path" is returning null value

    I have created a data control for file based content repository based on an existing file system path. *But when this data contol is invoked the command "#{bindings['getURI_returnURI'].inputValue}" is returning null.*+
    Please advice what are possible scenarios. I have performed the following
    #1. Create a file system folder in windows XP named "C:\CPContentRepository" and add some html pages into this folder.
    #2. Create a "content" project in the application.
    #3. Create a "Content Repository Data Control" named "CPFileContentRepository". Repository Type : "File System", Base Path : "C:\CPContentRepository". Test & Registration is successful.
    #4. Add a "panel horizontal" into jsf jsp "ContentTest" page & drap-dop data control "CPFileContentRepository--> getURI(String)--> Return--> URI". select return type as "ADF Output Text".
    #5. Edit Authorization of the "ContentTest" page definition for "View --> anyone".
    #6. Edit Authorization of the "ContentTest" page definition bindings "getURI" for "Invoke --> anyone".
    #7. Run the "ContentTest" page. The output for the page is empty.
    Regards,
    Vikki

    There're two major problems in your code. One you have used different names to get your parameters like in your first jsp they're like
    <input type="text" name="did" size="20" </p>
      <p align="center"> </p>
      <p align="center"><b>Name        </b>
      <input type="text" name="name" size="20"></p>
      <p align="center"> </p>
      <p align="center"><b>Specialist In
      <input type="text" name="specialist" size="20"></b></p>
      <p align="center"> </p>
      <p align="center"><b>Address
      <input type="text" name="address" size="20"></b></p>
      <p align="center"> </p>
      <p align="center"><b>Phone no.
      <input type="text" name="phno" size="20"></b></p>
      <p align="center"> </p>but when you're getting you're doing it like this
    String name = request.getParameter("name");
         String did = request.getString("did");
         String add = request.getParameter("add");
         String specilist = request.getParameter("specilist");
         String phno = request.getParameter("phno");First get them with same name as you have them in your first jsp. another thing in that you're not used form tag in write way... You have created submit button in some other form
    and when you're pressing submit button actully you're submitting only that form value and your form1 is not submitted that's why you're getting null values for
    those parameters you're getting with right name

  • BufferedReader readLine() not returning null

    I'm trying write an SMTP client using Socket.
    I'm sending EHLO command to the SMTP server is is returning multiline response. When I tried to read this multiline response using the BufferedReader in a while loop, it is never returning null.
    Following is my code snippet
    while(true)
                    data=reader.readLine();
                    multilineData +=data+"\r\n";
                    if(data==null )
                        break;
                    }why it is not returning?

    I have written debug statements.
    It is printing the following lines and it still expecting something from the server even though server has finished sending all the response.
    250-mail.merakdemo.com Hello <hostname>, pleased to meet you.

    This is the end of response from server.
    And even I tried to break the while loop by checking the "HELP" String in the response. It is breaking the loop, but it is never returning the control.
    Following is the Code snippet:
    private String pullMultilineData(BufferedReader reader) throws CommunicationException
           String multilineData="";
           String data="";

  • GetUsageData is always returning Null

    Let me first start out by stating that I know there are many questions on this issue, and I have read them all. However, none of the suggestions that I have read have seemed to help my situation. Therefore, I figure I would supply my code with the hopes
    that someone can solve the issue that is mentioned in the title. Let me first supply a little bit of background.
    My goal in this code is to determine what are the most visited sites in our SharePoint 2010 farm. To do this, I figured I would cycle through all of the webs in the farm, and then obtain the amount of page views within each site using the GetUsageData function.
    Just to test if the GetUsageData was supplying the correct data, I coded the web part in such a way where if GetUsageData returned "Null", it would print it for every site, and "Not Null" if otherwise. In every case I have tested this web part, it has always
    returned Null for evey site it has checked.
    I am fairly new to programming web parts in C#, so a lot of this code is derived from what I have read when researching the subject. If anyone can assist me to see where I could fix my issue, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thank you.
    Below is my Code:

    Hi, Shiladitya.
    Sorry I haven't replied until now. I'll paste the current code I am using, but my solution is not yet complete. What it does as of right now is it creates a data table with all of the webs located in your farm, as well as the total amount of page views for
    each web. What I noticed though is that when I compare these stats with the web analytics for the specific web, they don't match. I put the project on hold for this reason, and I might start it back up again soon. Feel free to use the code, and perhaps you
    maybe can shed some light on my issue.

    Hi all,
    I am deploying web services in production mode on Solaris 8 and Win2K. I get identical

    Sanjay,
    Would it be possible for you to send us your application, so that we can
    reproduce the error here. Let me know if you are unable to post on a public
    newsgroup, and we can take it offline.
    I would also suggest you to try using version 8.1, because it offers loads
    of features that make web services development a much more richer and easier
    experience.

  • Target unreachable "EmployeeId" returned null

    Hi all,
    My Jdeveloper version is 11.1.1.3.0
    I am Getting error while running my JSpx
    as "Target unreachable "EmployeeId" returned null.
    In the EO , i set Display Hint hide for the EmployeeId attribute.
    I dragged and Dropped this VO as table in My Jspx.
    in the Pagedef, Manually i entered the <Item value="EmployeeId" />, SincePage will have the item entry only for the display attribute in VO/EO.
    In Jspx, i added the "EmployeeId" as inputtext.
    After I run the JSPX, iam getting this error.
    But once when i changed Hide to Display for the EmployeeId in EO,
    It is working fine.
    May i know what is the reason for this error occur.
    Reg,
    Vini.

    When you set the Control Hints to Hide, the attribute which you have set is not exposed (i.e.. actually you are hiding it). Thats why you get the error

  • GetTagFromIdentifierAndTitle returning nulls - function PreSaveItem

    I'm attempting to add what should be a very straightforward date verification routine to a Sharepoint 2010 list.  It's documented all over the web, but for some reason, I can't get it to work.  The code is below:
    <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
    function PreSaveItem()
    var date1 = getTagFromIdentifierAndTitle("input","DateTimeFieldDate","Start Date and Time");
    var date2 = getTagFromIdentifierAndTitle("input","DateTimeFieldDate","End Date and Time");
    var arrDate1 = date1.value.split("/");
    var useDate1 = new Date(arrDate1[2], arrDate1[1]-1, arrDate1[0]);
    var arrDate2 = date2.value.split("/");
    var useDate2 = new Date(arrDate2[2], arrDate2[1]-1, arrDate2[0]);
    if(useDate1 > useDate2)
    alert("The End Date cannot happen earlier than the Start Date");
    return false; // Cancel the item save process
    return true; // OK to proceed with the save item
    function getTagFromIdentifierAndTitle(tagName, identifier, title)
       var len = identifier.length;
       var tags = document.getElementsByTagName(tagName);
       for (var i=0; i < tags.length; i++)
          var tempString = tags[i].id;
          if (tags[i].title == title && (identifier == "" || tempString.indexOf(identifier) == tempString.length - len))
             return tags[i];
       return null;
    }</script>
    I've traced it via debug mode, and it hangs up when I'm trying to parse date1, which contains null values.  I can't understand why it's not pulling the date from the NewForm screen.
    To answer the obvious question; yes, I have selected dates on the NewForm screen.
    Any help or debugging tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    The script works great in my environment, when start date is less than end date, a dialog will pop up for the warning message:
    As you said, “it hangs up when I'm trying to parse date1”, I suggest you log out some information to the console of the browser to check that whether the “title” attribute
    of the start date input control is “Start Date and Time” and whether the “date1” object holds the valid date value.
    About Using the Console to view errors and debug in IE Developer Tools:

  • EjbFindByPrimaryKey returns null

    Hello,
    We are writing an BMP in 6.1 SP 2. The ejbLoad perfectly loads the data.
    From the Remote using the getPrimaryKey() to get the PrimaryKey. That key
    is passed to the findByPrimaryKey(PK) call. But, it returns the following.
    I have the db-is-shared to false in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml. It looks like it
    is returning null and I don't understand why it is doing like this. Whether
    it is because, it is not able to find the object through the
    findByPrimaryKey or I am making any mistakes.
    I even system.out.println inside the ejbFindByPrimaryKey and the key is not
    null, it is having the value. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Sentence fragments.
    Missing predicates.
    It's a bit hard trying to understand your questions.
    In BMP you write the ejbFindByPrimaryKey method. Your job in that method is
    to verify that it exists in the DB and throw an ObjectNotFoundException if
    not. You return the valid PK (the one passed in) if it does exist. So, what
    exactly is returning null?

    Hello,
    We are writing an BMP in 6.1 SP 2. The ejbLoad perfectly loads the data.
    From the Remote using the getPrimaryKey() to get the PrimaryKey. That key
    is passed to the findByPrimaryKey(PK) call. But, it returns thefollowing.
    I have the db-is-shared to false in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml. It looks like it
    is returning null and I don't understand why it is doing like this.Whether
    it is because, it is not able to find the object through the
    findByPrimaryKey or I am making any mistakes.
    I even system.out.println inside the ejbFindByPrimaryKey and the key isnot
    null, it is having the value. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • FindNode returning Null And XML Not Accepting Special Characters

    Hi All,
    i am trying the get the attribute value in the element "ns4:InfoCFDi" using FindNode method, but the method is returning NULL. I used the same code for other sample as well and was successfull. but for this specific XML file(which is below) I am getting a Null.
    i can get till S:Body, but when i try to use FindNode for ":Body/s4:ResponseGeneraCFDi" I get Null value.
    And I used "S:Body/*[local-name()=" | "ns4:ResponseGeneraCFDi" | "]";
    as mentioned in other post but still no success.
    ==>I Have one more question relating to special characters. I need to use characters such as - ó in my XML to read as well as write. When I try to read i am getting XML parse error and when writing, i cannot open the file properly.
    Your help is much appreciated.
    My code is here:

    Local XmlNode &RecordNode;
    &inXMLDoc = CreateXmlDoc();

    First of all you have to supply a value you want to search for and this has to be the complete path to the value. You're saying you already tried that, but can you paste the code which you used for that? I don't see the path mentioned in the code you posted.
    *FindNode*
    Syntax
    FindNode(Path)
    Description
    Use the FindNode method to return a reference to an XmlNode.
    The path is specified as the list of tag names, to the node that you want to find, each separated by a slash (/).
    Parameters
    Path
    Specify the tag names up to and including the name of the node that you want returned, starting with a slash and each separated by a slash (/). This is known as the XPath query language.>
    Another option would be this snippet of code:
    &InfoCFDiArray = GetElementsByTagName("ns4:InfoCFDi");
    &InfoCFDiNode = &InfoCFDiArray [1];
    &attValue = &InfoCFDiNode.GetAttributeValue("noCertificadoSAT")
    Warning(&attValue);
    It creates an array of XML Nodes which match the name "ns4:InfoCFDi". Since there's only one in the XML it's safe to assume it will be the one and only node in the array. I've assigned that node to the variable &InfoCFDiNode and use that to retrieve the attribute "noCertificadoSAT" value. The warning message should display the value supplied there.
    Concering the special characters; you will have to change the encoding of the XML. Peoplecode sets this to UTF-8 by default, but doesn't include this in the header. There's a little hack for that somewhere on the web, I'll see if I can find it.

  • Kff.where returns 'null'  and causes sql error - looking for a work around

    Hello,
    I am using BI 5.6.3 in EBS (11.5.10.2)
    I have created a kff.where as follows:
    <lexical
    type="oracle.apps.fnd.flex.kff.where"
    name="lp_location_where_clause"
    comment="Comment"
    application_short_name="OFA"
    id_flex_code="LOC#"
    id_flex_num=":lp_location_flex_structure"
    code_combination_table_alias="loc"
    segments="ALL"
    operator="BETWEEN"
    operand1=":p_location_low"
    operand2=":p_location_high"/>
    </lexicals>
    Everything works fine, as long as I have a values for the p_location_low and p_location_high. However, this is a parameter that comes in from a concurrent program and is optional. When the user doesn't pick a value, :p_location_low is the concatenated delimiters for the location '..'.
    When this runs, the kff.where is returning null which causes 'Invalid Relational Operation error' because 'AND null' is not valid.
    Warning in the log is :[091910_025232517][][STATEMENT] !!Warning: FlexAPI returns null for 'x_where_expression' lexical definition...
    Does anyone have a workaround for this since making the parameter required is not an option for my users?
    Thanks for reading.

    In your SQL*Plus session, make sure you
    SQL> set define offbefore trying to create the Java stored procedure. SQL*Plus assumes that any string that begins with an & is a substitution variable unless you tell it that you have no substitution variables (via set define off).

  • HelpSet.findHelpSet() returns null, and trapping ID errors

    I was having a problem initializing JavaHelp. HelpSet.findHelpSet() was returning null. I searched the forum, and found it was a common problem, but the answers were unhelpful. The answers pointed to a problem with CLASSPATH, but offered little in the way of advice for a newbie like myself on how to deal with it.
    A second issue concerns HelpBroker.enableHelpOnButton(). If you feed it a bogus ID, it throws an exception, and there's no way to trap it and fail gracefully. JHUG doesn't provide much in the way of alternatives.
    Now, having done a bit of research and testing, I'm willing to share a cookbook formula for what worked for me.
    I'm working in a project directory that contains MyApp.jar and the Help subdirectory, including Help/Help.hs. My first step is to copy jh.jar to the project directory.
    Next, in the manifest file used to generate MyApp.jar, I add the line:
        Class-Path: jh.jar Help/I'm working with Eclipse, so in Eclipse, I use Project - Properties - Java Build Path - Libraries to add JAR file jh.jar, and Class Folder Tony/Help
    I define the following convenience class:
    public class HelpAction extends AbstractAction
        private static HelpBroker helpBroker = null;
        private String label = null;
        public HelpAction( String name, String label )
            super( name );
            this.label = label;
        public void actionPerformed( ActionEvent event )
            displayHelp( label );
        public static boolean displayHelp( String label )
            if ( helpBroker == null )
                Utils.reportError( "Help package not initialized!" );
                return false;
            try
                helpBroker.setCurrentID( label );
                helpBroker.setDisplayed( true );
                return true;
            catch ( Exception e )
                Utils.reportError( e, "Help for " + label + " not found" );
                return false;
        public static boolean initialize( String hsName )
            URL hsURL = HelpSet.findHelpSet( null, hsName );
            if ( hsURL == null )
                Utils.reportError( "Can't find helpset " + hsName );
                return false;
            try
                HelpSet helpSet = new HelpSet( null, hsURL );
                helpBroker = helpSet.createHelpBroker();
            catch ( HelpSetException e )
                Utils.reportError( e, "Can't open helpset " + hsName );
                return false;
            return true;
    }If you use this class in your own code, you'll want to replace Utils.reportError() with something of your own devising.
    Finally, in my GUI class, I use the following:
        JPanel panel = ...
        JMenu menu = ...
        JToolbar toolbar = ...
        HelpAction.initialize( "Help.hs" )
        Action gsAction = new HelpAction( "Getting Started Guide", "gs.top" );
        menu.add( gsAction );
        JButton helpButton = new HelpAction( "Help", "man.top" );
        toolbar.add( helpButton );
        InputMap imap = panel.getInputMap( JComponent.WHEN_ANCESTOR_OF_FOCUSED_COMPONENT );
        imap.put( KeyStroke.getKeyStroke( "F1" ), "F1help" );
        ActionMap amap = panel.getActionMap();
        amap.put( "F1help", new HelpAction( null, "man.top" ) );

    Sorry, the sixth-from-last line of my example should read,
        JButton helpButton = new JButton( new HelpAction( "Help", "man.top" ) );
