DBMS_Stats package body is missing on unix install

I ran dbmsstats.sql again after I got the following error message
ORA-04068: existing state of packages has been discarded
ORA-04067: not executed, package body "SYS.DBMS_STATS" does not exist
ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called
ORA-06512: at line 1
exec SYS.dbms_stats.gather_schema_stats('MYSCHEMA',CASCADE=>TRUE)
does anyone know where the package body for this resides? Is it perhaps wrapped java that I need to load or something?
I appreciate whatever help y'all can give me.
thanks

As SYS user, run catproc.sql located in $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin .
it will help create dbms_stats package for you.
SQL> @catproc.sql
or you can just run the below scripts (which is a part of catproc.sql)
SQL> @prvtstas.plb
SQL> @prvtstat.plb
Hope it helps,

  • DBMS_STATS package body creation

    How do the procedures in the DBMS_STATS package get created? I ran the dbmsstat.sql procedure, but the gather_schema_stats procedure didn't work, so I read the entire dbmsstat.sql procedure, and all it creates is the package, not the package body. What script do I have to run in order to create the package body?
    I'm running 8i on Solaris 2.6, if that matters.
    Thanks,
    Rich

    When I try to execute dbms_stats.gather_schema_stats, I get:
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-04068: existing state of packages has been discarded
    ORA-04067: not executed, package body "SYS.DBMS_STATS" does not exist
    ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    I just queried dba_source and found the dbms_stats package, but not the package body. If it was there before, maybe I wiped it out by running dbmsstats.sql again (when you create or replace a package, is the package body discarded?).
    Thanks for the tip on prvtstat.plb. I'll try running it and see what happens.

  • UNIX: Spool out database package and package body to a file [SOLVED]

    Hello,
    Does anyone know what I need to type into the unix console in order to spool out a database package spec and body of my choosing to a file? I've been told that I've got to do something like:
    set trim spool on
    With the idea that the trim will wrap the lines in the file so that words aren't half cut off. But the unix console tells me those commands don't exist?
    Thanks,

    Thank you very much gintsp. I did not realise they were sqlplus commands.
    In order to spool out a datababase package spec and its accompanying body through sqlplus in unix, I found the following post helpful too: how to generate text file using spool command
    Simply load up sqlplus and enter in the commands (set verify off, set feedback off etc), and specify a file to spool out to. In order to spool out the text of a database package, simply use:
    select text from dba_source where name = <your package name here>
    That way the spec will be spooled out followed by the body.
    Thanks,

    Regards,

    Hi Penny,
    Your suggested solution worked.
    However i got other errors and so i ran apxremov.sql to cleanup the installation.
    Forgot to mention that there was a previous installation of apex.
    After rerunning apexins.sql installation was completed succesfully.
    Thanks for reply.

    Install 4.0 pass ok!
    1. I was changing apexins.sql
    as PREFIX='@/usr/lib/oracle/xe/apex/'
    and add path to coreins.sql as @/usr/lib/oracle/xe/apex/coreins.sql
    2. create two folders coreinscore and coreinsbuild and copy all files from folder core and folder build
    3. copy and rename endins.sql as coreinsendins.sql
    after 10 min instalation pass ok!

  • {"success":false,"msg":"package file parameter missing"} while trying to upload a package via python

    Hello,
    I try to write a command line script for administrating CQ5 via command line not using curl or wget. When I try to upload a package I get the following error message: {"success":false,"msg":"package file parameter missing"} So what parameter (sure "file") is missing or how do I have to "put it in"?
    To be more precise:
    When using curl, everything works fine, so I looked at the header and body curl sends and rebuilt both via python - without success. And curl does not send a "file" parameter by the way, or I didn't see it.
    Best regards,
    Rene

    For RMA Line. I am assuming you have already created a 'RETURN' type transaction Type, and tied that to the AR transaction type. if yes, then just follow the COPY UTILITY to copy the original line into a RMA line using the Copy Utility as below. Let me know if that was helpful.

  • How do I view a FUNCTION within a Package Body

    I can see the FUNCTION being executed within the Package...
    FUNCTION Stop_Refresh_AsBilled
    RETURN Number;
    And within Oracle SQL Developer and using the Connection and "Packages" part of the Schema, I see the Function Name. However, when I <Double-Click> on the FUNCTION Name within the Schema, it is taking me to where the FUNCTION is executed within the Package and NOT to the PL/SQL Code that actually makes up the FUNCTION.
    Am I missing something here??? Maybe in my Preferences??? How can I drill down further to actually find the FUNCTION Definition and PL/SQL Code that makes up the FUNCTION within the Package Body???
    I can bring up the Package Body and Search on the FUNCTION that way. I'm hoping there is an easier way however to drill down to the actual PL/SQL Code that makes up the FUNCTION.
    I hope I am being clear in my explanation here.
    Thanks for your review and I am hopeful for a reply.

    Jim, opening the body node to see all functions and procedures sometimes does not work in 3.0
    I have many packages generated by Feuerstien's CodeGen utility. The Query package appears just fine with every function and procedure appearing as expected in both header and body nodes. However, the Change Package fails miserably. Header shows all functions and procedures fine, but the body node only shows the top private declarations of variables and types. Not one function or procedure appears in the expanded node.
    The only thing I can figure is that the Change package of about 30 named items has many of the same name+ with overloaded parameters. I think SQL Dev is having problems parsing the names in the body even though it does fine with the names in the header of the package--perhaps because of many private variables and PRAGMA's declared at the top of the body.
    Both packages have about 30 functions, but the Change package body has over 2000 lines while the Query package has fewer than 500.
    Just adding to the mystery--but I think it merits a bug report (gotta figure out where to report it now).

  • VIew of Package body in another schema in EA 3.0

    I would like the ability in SQL Developer to view the package body of another schema with the CREATE ANY PRIVILGE.
    For instance, in TOAD you can grant access to DBA_SOURCE or SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE and then be able to view another schema's package body.
    This is long overdue without having to log into that schema or granting CREATE ANY PRIVILEDGE to user.
    This one is really needed

    "CREATE ANY PRIVILEGE" is irrelevant to the ability of viewing the source owned by other users.
    Please provide exact script for creating a user, which is able to see the code, say in HR schema, via the query
    select * from all_source
    where owner = 'HR'
    and yet missing the nodes in the OtherUsers->Packages->PKG_A->PKG_A Body in the navigator.

  • SQL developer 3.1 in schema browser doesn't show package body

    Hi,
    When i search a package with schema browser, i can't see the package body of other owner, the menu "edit body" is disabled.
    My user as select any dictionary et select_catalog_role
    When i connect with a DBA's user, i can see all.
    I'am on windows with sqldev 3.1
    Thanks

    Hi erifet,
    This one seems to go back and forth. It was originally fixed in Schema Browser for 3.0. The "Edit Body" was greyed out, but an "Open Body" icon in the code editor toolbar for Package Spec was enabled. Here is the forum reference:
    30EA1 package bodies missing in schema browser still not fixed
    In 3.1, both "Edit Body" and "Open Body" are greyed out, and that applies both to Schema Browser and Connection Navigator for Other Users packages, so at least 3.1 is consistent. The difference between the Browser and the Navigator is Schema Browser has no option to display a Package Body type (must go through Package Spec type), while the Connection Navigator displays a Package Body node type in the tree beneath the Spec node. In the forum thread AM references, Vadim explains what 3.1 does: it uses the ALL_OBJECTS view, which apparently does not include package bodies. Off-hand I'm not sure why it does not include them, and the following link doesn't shed any light:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/statviews_1001.htm
    Adding the execute privilege on the package does not help either. At least you have the workaround of using the Connection navigator to view the package body metadata (code) of Other Users if you have been granted either SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE or SELECT ANY DICTIONARY. As for returning to the 3.0 Schema Browser behavior, perhaps Vadim will notice your post and have some explanation as to why or why not that may be possible.

  • Package Body in the tree doesn't show all procedures

    I am using Sql Developer 1.0.0.14.67 on Win XP Professional,
    DB servers Oracle 9i on both Linux Red HAt and Win XP Professional
    I have troubles with one of packages - in the tree under Package Body SQL Developer doesn't show all procedures of this package body.
    On the right panel all package body source is shown, but in the tree under Package Body it shows names of only procedures up to certain line in the source code - up to line where first Private (not included in Package Spec) procedure code starts.
    BUT, there are more Public procedures in package body below this Private procedure - and all of procedures below first private are not included in the tree under Package Body

    I find this quite annoying. I cannot use the navigation panel on the left to find the location of all functions and procedures in the package body. The 'missing' procedures are listed under the package spec, and double clicking on them takes me to the spec and not the body.
    I'm running v1.2.1.32.13. Is this a know issue and is there a fix planned?

  • Error! Package Body Creating

  • Bug report : Navigator display wrong messages in package body

    Just run some code , you can see the Navigator display wrong messages in the package body,but the package work fine in sqlplus / toad or other tools.
    create or replace package SIMPLE AS
    Procedure simple_proc ;
    END;
    create or replace package body SIMPLE AS
    Procedure simple_proc
    IS
    v_tname varchar2(100);
    begin
    SELECT PERCENTILE_disc(0.5) WITHIN GROUP (ORDER BY tabtype DESC)
              INTO v_tname
              FROM tab;
    END simple_proc;
    END;
    Then open the package body in the Navigator (Connection Pane==> Connection Name ==> Packages ==> Simple Body ) , and show the error message:
    Unexpected token
    Missing Expression
    But if I just create the procedure out of the package , it work fine.
    CREATE OR REPLACE
    Procedure simple_proc
    IS
    v_tname varchar2(100);
    begin
    SELECT PERCENTILE_disc(0.5) WITHIN GROUP (ORDER BY tabtype DESC)
              INTO v_tname
              FROM tab;
    END simple_proc;
    /

    This has already been discussed a number of times (see http://forums.oracle.com/forums/search.jspa?objID=f260&q=Unexpected+token).
    As I understand it, it is related to the parser that SQL Developer is using to display the package decomposition in the navigator not coping with the full PL/SQL and SQL syntax (largely analytical functions from memory).

  • Invalid Package Body

    I have a working instance of a commercial product based on an Oracle database. I exported the main schema of the database. I then created a new database with identical tablespaces and users as the original. After importing the .dmp file I found that everything works fine with the exception of a single package body that will not compile due to errors. Unfortunately the code is wrapped so I am unable to view the errors. Considering I have identical tablespace and user characteristics between the two databases, and that I imported the entire main schema owner, would it be correct to assume that the errors in that package must therefore be due to missing objects of other schemas (that were not imported)?

    Could be anything really.
    - Rights and roles (are all users truely identical)
    - Missing/invalid Objects
    - Code inside the package (Maybe they check the patchlevel of your database? Or the server name) => Unlikly but possible.
    Best thing would be to get support help from the vendor of the commercial product.

  • RMAN-06444 dbms_rcvman package body created with compliation errors

    I am trying to install Recovery manager but I get the above error message "RMAN-06444 dbms_rcvman package body created with compliation errors" and "RMAN-06433 error installing recovery cataolog"
    Can someone tell me what I did wrong?

    My Oracle version is 8i.
    I started from scratch again and was able to create a catalog, create a user(RMAN) with sysdba privleges.
    But when I try to connect to the target I get insufficient privleges.???
    I tried these methods and still have insufficient privleges.
    rman target / catalog rman/rman@rcat
    rman target system/manager@jem03 catalog rman/rman@rcat
    RMAN> connect target
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks for responding by the way.
